I would not recommend Lake View Cabins. They do not honor their agreements with third-party booking sites. We booked through Expedia with the "pay at property" option, but they attempted to charge my credit card for the full amount upfront. When I reached out, they claimed they cannot honor Expedia's pay-at-property policy and insisted on full prepayment. I don't mind paying, but the fact that they lied about this is unacceptable. I even contacted Expedia, who tried to call them to resolve the issue, but they ignored Expedia's calls--even though they were actively texting me. In the end, they suggested we cancel, which we did, because this place felt very shady. read more

This property is so adorable! From the moment that I booked our stay online, the property was in contact through text messages with relevant information for our stay. That was a really nice touch. This is a contact-free property, if that is important to you-- meaning that you do not need to check into a front desk, you just enter the code into your room door lock pad and you are good to go. We did have a little trouble with using the lock pad, however, but we were able to figure it out after a few tries. The cabin itself (#4) was not so much a cabin, since it wasn't a free-standing property, instead it was more of unit attached to a 4-plex. But once inside our cute room, we felt super cozy and comfortable. There were definitely some cabin-chic vibes going on in there. I do have to admit that the name "Lake Front Cabins" is a bit misleading however, due to the fact that they are not on the lake... or with a lake view. But I knew that when I made my reservation, so it didn't really bother me. The kitchen is super functional. We had a two burner stove, an air-fryer/convection oven, a coffee maker, and a fridge/freezer. The bathrooms were small, but nice. Ours was stocked with conditioner and body wash, but no shampoo. Luckily I always travel with extra toiletries, so we were okay. The bed was comfy, but could probably use an update soon. There are too many great mattresses out there to be fooling around with average ones. read more

The owners are very responsive to any questions you may have. The Cabin was well kept and works great for our family of 4. The location of the cabins is walking distance to many local restaurants and shops. Parking was easy. We like that the cabin is well stocked and have a storage room for items you may be missing. It's super convenient. The communal space is also very nice and clean. The only comment I would have for the owners is to have a shower head that can point down more. It is angled to hit the wall of the shower which makes it very difficult for kids to shower since it does not reach them well. I would definitely recommend this place and will book them again the next time we come back to June Lake! read more

Great location in proximity to Gull and June Lakes. The cabins are quaint, nothing special, and a bit dated but,.... combine the great location, awesome outdoor fire pits, and visiting wildlife and it made for a great stay. Last but not least is what earned my rating an extra star, Aron. I love that all check-in info was provided ahead of our arrival so we new our arrival would be easy but, Aron went out of his way to come out and greet us. Aron was outside early every morning, taking care of the grounds and asked daily how our stay has been and how he can make it better. Great, great person to have! Don't Bother...Our Cabin #3 is a DUMP, no soap in bathroom, no facial tissue, one ply TP, dust/dirt We are in a pet friendly room at appx. $200/night...Cabin 1 is a non pet room for $103/night and as big and much cleaner and nicer...our kitchen, although equipped with a stove, is so ridiculously inconvenient it's almost useless... but the ultimate disappointment and reason we're cutting our trip short by 5 days was NO internet...!!! Im actually losing money staying here...!! As a musician I teach online and rely on a reliable internet connection...missed 3 lessons today...COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE... If your looking for a place to enjoy in the mountains whilst staying at your rented cabin, THIS IS NOT THE PLACE...if you want no frills lodging to sleep in only then cabin #3 is still a bit sketchy...!!! Also, there is no visible presence of a manager to talk to about this (owners do not live or work on premises and we were told "they're never here")...office seems to be closed most of the time and appears it has been converted into a rental unit...odd they still leave there "office" sign hanging over a door that is permanently locked... I have been staying at lake front cabins for many years. I used to absolutely loved this place. It used to be cute on the inside and the yard used to be well kept. My family and I rented the larger cabin in the center of the property. To me, the cabin was not cleaned at all. I couldn't walk around without shoes because my feet would instantly turn black in the bottoms. We had to avoid walking on certain areas in fear the floor would collapse. The shower didn't drain. The sheets in the bedroom with two twin beds were dirty as well as the towels. The head boards would fall over on top of us if we moved too much on the beds. The garbage area was a mess and the fish cleaning station was not kept clean. This place used to help make visiting June lake every year magical. Unfortunately, I don't think I'll be staying here again. read more

My fiance, his best friend, dad, and I stayed there for 3 nights one summer. They are cozy old-school cabins with a nice courtyard. The owners were very nice and accommodating and the location is great. The cabins are right next to the Marina. You get a discount on a fishing boat if you stay here. Everything is walking distance. Our first night, we went out partying. We walked to their cafe/bar and walked back. You can really tell that the owners show pride in their property. In my opinion, the price of this place is a little up there. BUT, the kitchen in the cabin has EVERYTHING you need! That's a plus. I had the pleasure of staying in the lake front cabins and I cannot say enough good things about the staff. We originally booked our stay for a wedding/vacation but during our stay learned we where evacuated from our home from a wild fire. We called to see if it was alright if we brought our dog with us as we had not booked our stay to include pets. They told yes absolutely, especially since we where already in a pet friendly room. They also made us feel very welcome and even had a separate room with things you might have forgot; we needed cooking oil at 10 pm and low and behold there it was. The room it self is small and not super fancy but it's clean and had everything we needed. I will say that it isn't the darkest room so maybe bring sleep mask if that bothers you. Also for the people who sleep with a fan they have one in your room. read more

Ok, first off, this is my honest unbiased opinion. The manager has no help with his business. He has to do everything himself which is unfortunate. As for the room, it was clean, everything worked (Micro, heater, TV, Fridge etc). But it is a small space. I'm not going to say "Cozy", it's small. My wife and I did not sleep good one night because frankly the bed is small. Maybe a Full? Could be a queen, I'm not sure, but I'm 5'11, and my feet were just about hanging over the bed. My other 2 friends (in their rooms) had to try and sleep on the couch, but it resulted in back pain. Same with the shower, tight and small. The location is nice with a short walk to most businesses. Businesses. Remember, honest and unbiased. I felt "Totally unwelcomed" by most businesses, almost like I was just "Tolerated". Pay and get out..What these business owners need to understand is we "Tourist" are the reason you're in business. Don't treat us like a "necessary evil". Please understand, there isn't anything wrong with this place. If I were just staying overnight, I'd be OK. I hope you can stay there and help the proprieter. It just wasn't for me. read more

Great place to stay if you're visiting the mono basin or Yosemite. Cabin was clean and well equipped with everything you need in the kitchen. Clean bathroom with a shower and plenty of soft towels. Don't forget to bring shampoo and a hair drier as those aren't provided. Comfy double bed in the one bedroom cabin with a futon in the living room if needed. Even though all the cabins were rented out, everything was peaceful and quiet after 10:00 which enabled us to get some of the best sleep we've gotten in quite a while. While not right on the lake, you can walk to it in about a minute. Definitely would stay again if in the area. read more

This is our second time at Lake Front Cabins. Bob and Laura are always great people. Yes, they have a dog and cat. No, you can't bring yours. No, it's not really on the lake front. Yes, it's a really good place to stay in June Lake. The hollow-block cabins are not as cute as some places on the outside. Inside, they use abundant finished wooden plank walls. Very pretty. They try to maintain a kind of '70s mountain cabin feel. The furniture is chosen both for it's functionality, and atmosphere. The bathrooms, however, are modern and well maintained. They've put money into the things that I consider important, like lots of hot water available, almost immediately. Our cabin had cheery yellow kitchen and bathroom. That really helps, because the rooms are not large. We had a one bedroom, this time. Last time we had the studio. June Lake is known for it's trout fishing, and most folks visiting were there to fish. Not us. We enjoy the quiet beauty of the area. We can walk to the marina easily, or to the main drag. What we usually do is walk over to Gull Lake, which is an easy 10 minute walk, and rent a paddle boat. It is a beautiful place in 360 degrees. June Lake is also beautiful, especially coming down the hill from Oh! Ridge. Pull off the road just in front of the upper set of road gates, and walk a little down the hill to get a spectacular view of the lake and mountains. The cabins have a full, though compact, kitchen, with gas stoves. We ate off snowflake-pattern Corelleware just like we had when we were newlyweds. We saved a bunch of money by cooking our own meals. There are 4 gas grills, and a charcoal grill in the courtyard. Great for grilling what you catch, or buy at Vons in Mammoth Lakes. The grills and nightly fire pit are great places to meet the generally friendly guests, if that's your desire. If you'd rather be alone, the cabins have secure wi-fi, and cable TV with DVD players. The TVs are rather small, but you get more channels than you do at a Marriott, including the Food Network. My wife and I found that as you get absorbed in the stories on DVD from Netflix, we forgot how small the screen is. The beauty of June Lake brings us back, and when we stay there, this is where we choose to stay. read more

I would have never made a reservation with this place had I initially noticed their very strict guest policy at the very bottom of their terms and conditions. I booked this reservation through Expedia and it was not made explicitly clear during the initial booking. I ended up cancelling my reservation and it was not refunded--which to their credit was made clear in their policy, however Laura, the manager was incredibly rude and condescending. You took my money--now you're being a total asshole about it? Yes, I was outside the policy, but you didn't have to be rude. You chose to work with the public, not me. I stumbled upon this cute, quaint, lil oasis when a group of friends were RV camping it up at the nearby June Lake RV camp. (We stayed June 1-5, 2020). It was like heaven- being fresh out of quarantine and also in the height of the protests. We were in a paradise far, far removed from the heaviness of life. Adam was so helpful, kind and accommodating. He answered all of our questions and inquires quickly. We stayed in cabin 6 and it had been recently renovated so that was a huge plus. It was clean and well stocked with everything needed. I am not the outdoorsy type and I actually hate camping, but this I can handle and actually miss the experience now. The views are amazing and you are literally on the lake. We didn't use the amenities such as the fire pits or the BBQ areas because we crashed our friends camp grounds so that they had all the work but we will definitely return and we hope to use the grounds more. This is the best location to everything. You can walk to everything needed. Pizza, Tacos, Coffee, Vodka, or the Lake. read more

We have stayed in several places on the Eastside from Bishop to Bridgeport and Lake Front is by far the best. Bob and Laura (and Buster the Cat and Uma the Dog) always make our stay homey and comfortable. Yes, it is not right on the lake but a good throwing arm could reach it. The rooms are clean and comfy with well equipped kitchens. A 100 yard walk will get you into downtown, such as it is. Being on a road that deadends on the lake makes for a perfectly quiet stay. A pleasant yard with several gas BBQs will keep you outside on a warm evening. We love this place and return every year. read more

Memorial Day weekend and a majority of our friends headed off to Vegas. Us being the "let's head out without reservations" type thought we'd head up the 395. Well as we pull into Mammoth and find that everything is booked solid, my wife and I look at each other and say that it looks like we're going to sleep in the back of the Tahoe!! As minutes go by and my wife is down to the last of the local hotels/ motels / cabins she gets a positive response from Laura at Lake Front Cabins. The cabin was in June Lake, not really on our list of places to stay but at this point we couldn't be picky. As we pull up we are met by Bob. I see a collection of smaller rooms and I'm thinking hmmm these are nice but he starts walking towards a larger cabin and as we walk in I am pleasantly surprised. It was cozy with everything needed for an extended stay, clean and well maintained. There was one door that Bob didn't show us and I thought it might be a storage room, well curiosity got the cat and I went and opened it to find another room with two beds. BUYER BEWARE, please beware that if you make a reservation no matter how soon you cancel, this place will keep your money no matter what the circumstance. I made a reservation to stay for 3 days and had to cancel due to an emergency 1 month prior and they refuse to refund ANY amount after paying the entire stay. Just as an FYI they do not refund for any reason. Going forward, I will know better than to pay ahead in good faith and know the company may take your money for an expensive vacation and expect NOT to get any portion back. I experience one of my best trips here. Laura is great, very knowledgeable about the area and friendly. The location is great, it's a two minute walk to the marina and a two minute walk to all the shops and restaurants. Everything was clean and in working order, and there is a great fire pit with plenty of grilling space. There is even a fish cleaning station. Cabins are cozy and family friendly. Top top notch people who are not only the operators, but the owners too! Laura and Bob got us out of a "bind" for lodgings, and I cannot thank them enough for helping us! Did not realize that Laura does the cleaning (and I am sure Bob does too) of the cabins as well, so felt a bit guilty leaving just $2.00 for our first night's stay (did not know until later that Laura/Bob do all the cleaning!) there, so left $5.00 for the other two days we stayed (we had to break up our stay with one night at another location, but we came back for another 2 nights after that.) Laura even invited me on her 40 minute early am walk routine, which was really cool for she took me to the nesting location of a pair of osprey. So cozy the cabins are, cute kitchens, and fast internet as well. The courtyard has BBQ's of all sizes and shapes, gas, and one charcoal BBQ if you so desire. You know when a property is loved to and attended to by the owners when you see them watering the lawns, talking to guests, and hanging out too. Very comfortable place to stay. I stayed with my parents and boyfriend. The cabins were probably built in the 50's and still retain the feeling of the Cleaver family going to the lake - but in a good way! There is no direct access to the lake and not much of a view, but the cute 2-bedroom cabins and communal courtyard with several gas grills for cooking (hopefully fish!) make it a very friendly place to hang out and get to know other guests if it feels right. The hosts are incredibly friendly and welcoming without being intrusive. I would stay there again in an instant. read more

No lake view, eviction and sickness... We had a reservation for 3 nights. Arrived late after office was close and keys were just in the cabin as arranged - that was nice. The cabin is small and outdated - perhaps rustic is the word. But make sure you bring an extension cord if you have anything to plug in - finding an outlet is hard as there's less than a half dozen in the whole place. It wasn't bad, but not exceptional, and not even a view of the lake at all. Upon going to the office the next morning to officially checkin, we were immediately confronted that we couldn't continue to stay. The issue was we had 5 total in our party (2 adults, 2 children, 1 infant less than a year old). The room was listed at max occupancy of 4. So in fairness, we were over the max. But no where else that we've ever stayed, nowhere where my wife's sister has stayed, and nowhere where my wife's parents have stayed... all with their families of 5, has that ever been an issue. Every time it has simply been a statement of how many beds there were, and of the periodic checking on this policy with other places, it's always been ok. So this was a total surprise. We were told there simply wasn't room for 5 people in that cabin. We mentioned that we had easily set up the pack-n-play without problems for that past evening, but it didn't matter. The referenced us to their policy. I went back and looked and couldn't find anything to that nature in the travelocity page, but I did finally find it at the bottom of the confirmation email they sent (who really checks anything but the dates/price when you get those? the info should be the same as on the confirming site or additional beneficial info) The options were limited, leave immediately or see if they had another room. I even offered to simply pay the price of their larger room to pay for the number of guests - "no way" was the answer I got. Why??? I've asked other hotels since if it was possibly an insurance thing, and no one thought that it likely would be. Seems like they just wanted to be a stickler for policy and make no execeptions. So considering we were going to waste a day trying to find/move to somewhere else (nothing within a 2 hour drive seemed available), we thought we were fortunate that someone had just vacated a double room a day early and decided to move to the other room for just the one night (then of course had to really move hotels the 3rd night.... only didn't get charged for 3rd night because they managed to fill it with someone else) It was a bitter sweet backup plan. Our 3 day stay was now a move every night. We wasted time that first day waiting for the room to be cleaned so we could move in. We were only in Yosemite for 2 days really, so a big hit. But the real kicker was that 2 days after leaving there, my older daughter got real sick for 3 days, then 2 days after her were all the rest of us and all of my brothers family. It definitely seemed like the incubation period of those who came in contact with my daughter till when they showed signs was 2 days... making it super likely that she got the sickness from that second room (which we were told during checkout had opened up only because the previous family left early because someone was badly sick). I don't know how well they cleaned, but that was super frustrating too. We won't be returning. read more

This was our first time at June Lake and skiing on June Mountain, and our family (2 adults and 2 children) was so very comfortable staying at Lake Front Cabins. Laura and Bob were incredibly accommodating from our late night arrival (cabin warm and cozy despite 28 degrees outside), to our request for a blender, to recommendations of where to go for meals or OTC decongestants. As an angler, I've stayed in numerous "fish camps," and these rooms were not only clean and well appointed, they also seem newly renovated. Very convenient to places to eat and to the mountain with a weekend shuttle that stops just outside the cabins. A great value, and we look forward to staying again. read more
