    Balcony cabin 9
    Siouxe D.

This place is adorable! Total old school cabin feel that reminds me of my childhood. Very, very clean, staff just couldn't be nicer and more helpful, full kitchens, wood burning fireplace, balconies on upper units, plenty of comfortable furniture and storage, indoor jacuzzi, free firewood, free WiFi, cable tv with DVD player, this place has it all! We will definitely be back!

This view is minutes away from your cabin! I can't wait to come back!

I searched Google for a pet-friendly hotel. This place - among others - popped up, but this one was further out than the rest. Based on the options available, I chose Cabin 9 - The Couples Cabin. It's perfect! Full kitchen, TV, Queen Bed, and plenty of room for the dogs to run around in the living room. As mentioned, their pet policy is setup for us dog lovers. They give a care package and appear to be understanding about accidents (mine are potty trained, so we're lucky). You might even see Dawn and Terry - the owners - walking their adorable pup. Dawn and Terry are extremely nice and make the booking process very easy. I've had so many bad situations due to lack of communication with other bookings, but everything about their process is awesome. Oh, and those cookies were amazing! The location is kind of off the main road, but very central to everything you want when coming to Mammoth and also everything you need when traveling. 10-15 minutes will get you hiking, shopping, or eating. Right up the street is a very nice walking trail (you can see one of the pictures I posted somewhere on here), which ended up being my morning route with the dogs. And, I guess the public transit is free! This will be my booking place whenever I come back to Mammoth. I really don't want to leave. Thank you for everything!

Nico was polite and used the dog sheet out of his Welcome Basket to protect the bed linens

This is my first time at Mammoth and I am SO happy we chose Edelweiss. What a fabulous little place, Terry and Dawn are the NICEST, most helpful, kind and accommodating people, you feel like you're their one and only guest and the place is dog friendly! I absolutely love it here, we got the studio, which is small but totally perfect and has pretty much everything you need and has a fully stocked little kitchenette (dishes, micro, toaster, fridge, corkscrew, coffeemaker, etc). In addition to two of the best cookies we ever tasted, they also provided a welcome basket for our dog, complete with a ball, biscuits, bowls, blankie, placemat, towel and a sheet to protect people-bedding. Nico was thrilled! The location is great, red and grey line both stop here, and there are a bunch of trails right out the front door. Terry took time to explain all the best spots in town and I really appreciated that as a newcomer. We had a great time exploring!! I cannot wait to come back, can't imagine staying anywhere else! Thanks!

Kai with his dog care basket. And pretty much sat glued to the fire place for the duration of our trip.

We stayed in cabin 3 for three nights, with six people and one dog. Location: Nestled in a sleepy little nook of Mammoth, surrounded by what looked like a residential area. Far enough from the hustle and bustle, but only a cartwheel away from it all. 8 minutes from The village by car. 5 mins from Von's. There are also bus stops within a walk-able distance, but I can't say for sure because we didn't take advantage of it. It's supposedly free too. I know, I know. We had a 6 year old, okay? Skiing from 9am-3pm then making the wee one take the bus + walking = recipe for disaster. Lol. Anyways. Cabin: Nice little cabin with two bedrooms (furnished with queen beds), one bath, full kitchen, a pull-out sofa bed (sleeps 2) in the living, and wood burning fireplace. Heaters in each room, including a big buff one in the living room. Then another in one of the closets, which we kept in the bathroom. It was like the tropics of Philippines in there. Outside there are loads of parking spots, which makes it easy for the grown ups and lots of play area for the poochies and kiddies. Customer service: Upon arrival the humans are greeted with milk choco chip/white choco chip with nuts(? I don't remember, lol as I annihilated them too quickly), and pooches get a care basket to use during their stay there. Cleaning spray, couple of treats, a blankie, poop bags, ball, etc. Really, stellar customer service. Besides bribing you with cookies, any questions or concerns that came up were immediately addressed and resolved. All the way from we have no idea what we're doing here to smoke alarm needs new batteries. We had bought crummy snow cables last year and had to use them this trip. Needless to say I was scared of plowing through a parking lot and a half then falling into a ravine. Hosts didn't know anything about chains (cause they had AWD like everyone in Mammoth does) but kindly enough called AAA for me and was able to find a service I could call. I'm still alive, so, yay! Highly recommend and would stay here again next time we visit Mammoth. Pricing is fair with what you are getting.

Cute little lodge located in mammoth. Went up to mammoth for engagment pictures and was looking for a dog friendly place. We wanted to stay somewhere away from the city but not a hotel. (our first choice was a campground but those were full) Luckily we came across this spot! It was a cozy peaceful getaway. The room was super clean and being dog friendly it did not smell like dog. Would reccomend this spot if you need a place to stay in mammoth!

Edelweiss Lodge was so cozy and comfortable. Our lodge was warm and had a little Christmas tree in our room. It was lit with white lights and really added such a nice touch. We will definitely be staying here again. Dawn (owner) gave us some recommendations and none of them disappointed. She gave us hiking recommendations, eating suggestions, and even updated us on mammoths upcoming events. So happy I found Edelweiss Lodge.

Great time with our family. We will definitely be back again! The cabin was cozy and the kitchen was perfect to cook a delicious meal for my family. We also enjoyed the snow falling and the views from the window. We left very pleased.

My boyfriend surprised me for our three year anniversary to this beautiful location. We couldn't be happier. The staff is warm, welcoming, and accommodating. My boyfriend mentioned that Sue was especially helpful, and went above and beyond. The room is clean, spacious, homey, and comfortable. It's the little details that count, like full ice trays in the freezer, dish soap under the sink, extra pillows and blankets in the closet, wood stacked next to the fireplace, extra tv tables, luxury robes, fresh baked cookies, a CD player alarm radio on the night stand, and care packages for both us and the puppies. Oh, and the jacuzzi which you can reserve for private sessions with candles and music is fantastic. I love this place so much that I don't ever want to leave! It's so romantic and relaxing, I haven't felt this at peace in so long. Definitely found our new getaway spot!

We didn't have any issues during our stay at the #570 Modern Mountain Retreat in an Idyllic Creekside. The condo had everything we needed and had no issues. It was well updated and the decor was pretty and modern. The available appliances were great (toaster oven, air fryer, large Hamilton crock pot, large tub washer/dryer, etc.) and in good working order. I must highlight, the kitchen knives were good quality and sharp. Quality plates and silverware. Parking was easy and convenient. The hot tub was the building adjacent from our rental. We very much enjoyed our stay. Dog friendly. We will definitely reserve this rental again.

Unfortunately, that's where the positives end. During a 3-night stay, we experienced numerous maintenance failures and extremely poor support. This unit is clearly not well maintained. The first night, the circuit breaker tripped and we lost power and lights in most of the unit for 12 hours. I called and messaged repeatedly and could not get help. Cooking in pitch black wasn't easy. There was no after-hours emergency number on their voicemail at the time (this appeared only AFTER the incident when I complained). I requested compensation and received none. I was even told there were "no issues," despite being on the phone during business hours and receiving verbal instructions on how to fix it myself. This involved first finding the circuit box outside, then resetting the switches & GFI buttons inside. Finding the unit was also unnecessarily difficult. It's in Building G. We searched for 45 minutes in the dark. This information is buried under "Amenities" instead of being included with check-in instructions. When I pointed this out, I was treated like I was the problem. Additional issues included a TV that randomly stopped working (outlet broke), an extremely finicky furnace (we fixed a broken wire), a broken wall heater, an unsafe and unusable couch bed (claiming it is 'fine' should reflect their standards) pellet bags piled in the living area, flimsy fixtures, a shower door that wouldn't close, and loud furnace/vent noises at night. They want to argue with me because they say it's an easy fix. Well this isn't my house. All I know is the power is out and I have no help in the dark. Don't know where the box is don't know the switches. Plus this was fun- they had a lock in the circuit box! No accountability. Bottom line: poorly maintained unit and terrible management. Their response below alone has been just as dismissive as they have always been. Beware

I planned this trip with a group of friends, and they could not stop commenting about how the chalets was the best stay they've been in at Mammoth. We stayed at chalet #9 which was not a ski out, but a very short walk to the main lodge/lifts and definitely a ski in from lower road runner. The chalet itself was cozy with plentiful seating, and even extra foldable chairs for our group. The beds were comfortable, and the bathrooms came equipped with hotel sized toiletries, which was a nice touch. The kitchen is a good size and well equipped with all the necessities, along with a fridge/freezer that was the perfect size to fit all of our weekend groceries. I also appreciated that they even had a huge pot to make group meals like pho, even though I had already brought my own instant pot. I would 110% stay here again and recommend the chalets to all of my family and friends. This was such a wonderful find. Thank you for the awesome stay Mammoth Mountain Chalets! :)

Ineresting Rock Creek Lakes Resort came up... okay, let's look at pictures... hey, Twin Lakes Resort has a good place to eat... even Convict Lake has a nice place to eat... there were some pictures of food... hmmmmm... pulled pork sandwiches? After further investigation, I checked out their website... they got smoked meat? Really... no pics, no menu... even on Yelp... nada... No matter... I will Google maps it and see where this lodge is at... wouldn't you know when I got there it was the Pie in the Sky location... so I dropped everybody off to try their breakfast first... sorry, no picture of the breakfast because I started talking to a long time customer, whose daughter even worked there... she told me the history of Pie in the Sky and told me that their daughter and son in law took over the business... and the Pie in the Sky lady, the daughter's mom still bakes the cobbler... and another daughter in law now bakes the pies... and the son in law built and manages the smoker in the back... she told me to take pictures of the smoker... so I left my bar stool and went out to the back... sure enough Steve, the Pit Master and owner was prepping the brisket and his smoker was getting ready... I asked him what kind of wood they use and he told me they get almond logs locally... very cool... He informed me they make their own BBQ sauce right there... wow... no ribs today, but maybe tomorrow... and today he wanted to roast some corn in the little smoker... after talking I went back in and started talking to the lady customer again... completely forgot to take a picture of my breakfast... I remember the bacon was delicious... and noticed she had French toast... next time... it was too early to buy the BBQ and the pies, so I needed to return at 10:30 when they sell them... at 11:00 my wife and nephew were done fishing and decided to go with me... we came back and I order all the meat available to try... the brisket meal which came with chili and coleslaw... the pulled pork with the same sides and 1/4 pound of Tri Tip... and finding out that the Pie Lady made the cobbler I ordered the peach and berry cobbler along with the Coconut Cream Pie and the Lemon Cream Pie... Finding out that Pie in the Sky never left and was now taken over by family made me very very happy... I took a lot of pics with explanations with scores on all the food... My big surprise was the chili and the lemon cream pie... both got a 10/10... A big thanks to the daughter and son in law taking over the parents business... not only taking it over but making really awesome changes without sacrificing the love and charm of Pie in the Sky... it's cool because Mom and Dad still come around and help out with the business... Oh... here's another interesting thing... I asked Steve if he wanted me to make a Yelp for the restaurant and he said he has one up... It's called, Miller and Son's BBQ Sauce Brewing... when I went to their site there was no reviews no pics... so I was the first to put pics on the site... now I will go there and write another review at that site... so there you go... Pie in the Sky is now Miller and Son's BBQ Sauce Brewing... and I did go home with both the Original and the Velvet (tinge of coffee flavor) both are delicious and I will put that on my slow cooked meat... hahahaha... no offset though just a Traeger... Convict Lake and Mammoth Lakes were on my bucket list for so many years. Living in the Bay Area means it's a rough 5-6 hours of driving through windy mountainous roads. Thus, we wanted to pick a place to stay that could provide us the comfort of home we needed. And Convict Lake Resort delivered! From the booking process to checking in and later checking out, everything was a breeze! We received emails reminder from staff detailing easy steps needed to check in. When it looked like we might arrive late, they promptly sent us instructions for self check in. Luckily we arrived on time before the gift shop close. Each cabin has 1 parking spot for your car. However, there are many parking spaces within walking distance to your cabin if you and your party happen to have more than 1 car. As soon as we opened the door into our cabin, our stress and exhaustion of the long drive melted away! We love the high vaulted ceiling, the warm woody interior and how spacious and clean the inside of our cabin was! It was so welcoming and smells so good! You could tell that the staff did a wonderful job cleaning and preparing for your stay! Thank you ! The kitchen area was another highlights of the cabin! It was big with full amenities! We used it so many times during our stay to cook our meals and everything in between! Microwaves, fridges, freezer, chopping board, plate wares, forks and spoons, etc. You name it, they have it! There's a door by the kitchen area which gave you access to the mini wood behind your cabin. We once spotted some deers here during twilight times . And the BATHROOM!!! We LOVE IT!! Super spacious with nice rain-forest shower head! After a long day being active outside like hiking, kayaking and other stuff, we came home to the cabin, hopped into the shower and let all our fatigue washed away! I swear this shower had some acupuncture magic as it soothed my tired body so well! The sliding door to the bathroom was so modern and chic itself. We love the tiny windows looking out to the wood beside our cabin. We joked to each other that "Number 2 with a great view !" Not only the inside was amazing, the outside porch area with the gas grill was another bonus! Never had we ever seen such a clean grill like this! Kudos again to the staff ! We utilized the grill many times during our visits and enjoyed a dinner or breakfast outdoor with our pup :) And first time in our life, we saw such a dog friendly place! Every cabin seemed to have at least one dog. My puppy Butter had such a wonderful socializing with all his furry friends and neighbors. We enjoyed walking around and checking out the resort on the lovely trails surrounding the resort and looked at all the amazing mountains. Convict Lake Resort is just 10 minutes of walking and 5 minutes of driving from Convict Lake. Location! Location! Location!! There's a lovely restaurant onsite that I'll review in details in another review :) Overall, AMAZING place and words cannot describe how satisfied we were! We'll definitely come back and recommend this place with all our family and friends :)
