My comfy cabin for the week
    Carrie R.

I loved my stay at sierra meadows this past week. The horse facilities were clean and beautiful. I used the round pen for warm up and the arena for turnout time. There was plenty of water and feed tubs for every horse. Wheel barrels and poop rakes were provided. My cabin was super cool, clean, and fully stocked with the essentials. Mark was super helpful with whatever we needed as a group. He was only a text or phone call away at all times. We will definitely be staying here again. Thank you for a great stay Mark!! You are so appreciated.

Loved our stay here, we'll be back next time we're in the area. The space was cozy, the grounds were beautiful, owner and staff were very friendly and helpful. Dog friendly was a huge plus. And the restaurant on property was delicious.

Windswept every afternoon except the day after the 6.0 earthquake (07/08/2021).

Mammoth Lakes has many microclimates and the windswept Sierra Meadows under the Sherwins (mountains) section of the Eastern Sierra is rugged beauty at its finest. Parking at the trailhead is convenient and once you head out the hills gradually take yiu to a crossroads of sorts where multiple trails converge. The best spot is the second crossroads a couple miles or so in on the edge of the mountains. From there you can turn back or connect to the Mammoth Rock Rim Trail and eventually make it up Old Mammoth Road to the Twin Lakes. A day pack is recommended for that and carrying extra water. I love the varied geological history embedded in the rocks. The scrub brush of the meadow also has a variety of wildflowers and some cool trees too. Although mountain bikers are supposed to defer to hikers some don't, conversely, others were grateful for us letting them go by in sticky areas. Overall, the meadow section is a nice out and back. Carry water and you're probably ok, trail running shoes or light hiking boots are recommended, especially if you go up to steeper trails at the crossroads. Put a note on your car window in case people have to search for you to give them a search zone. Some trails also have codes and rescue phone numbers on the signs so take a reference picture with your phone.

We loved our experience at Sierra Meadows. Our horse stalls were clean and set up when we arrived, which was much appreciated after our long drive. Our cabin was clean. We had plenty of hot water. Great heat as we got snow one night. TV with plenty of channels. All the appliances worked well. Plenty of cooking dishes, which was nice because we ate home most nights. Mark the manager was attentive and restocked us on trash bags and TP and towels as soon as we asked for them. The ranch is close to everything in town and if we needed help finding something, a quick text to Mark and we had our answers!

    Trail to Sherwin Lakes

There is no place in Mammoth that accommodates horse owners like Sierra Meadows Ranch. Horse owners are often a forgotten group in a world of accommodations for hikers, bikers and skiers. But this ranch allows you to bring your own well-seasoned horse, board in the corrals right on the property and stay in the comfortable cabins just steps away. (They don't rent horses, bring your own.) You and your horse will enjoy comfortable accommodations with everything Mammoth has to offer. The trails are multi-use, open to horses, so RIDE to your heart's content! Yes, the trails are SIERRA MOUNTAIN trails so expect technical obstacles, altitude, rocks, switchbacks, everything MOUNTAIN terrain has to offer. But the scenery and lakes are stunning and well worth the effort. Parking at the trailheads can be tricky so go early to beat the day hikers and take as few rigs as possible (consolidate if necessary). The corrals are clean and spacious with a choice of either totally uncovered or partially enclosed stalls. There's plenty of room to drive your rig right up to the corral for easy loading/unloading. A water hose and large water barrel was provided for each corral. There are round pens and a large arena to let your horse run free in the mountain air. The parking lot is huge for horse rigs. The cabins are really nice and set up for families to enjoy. Bunk beds for kids and flexible adults. A private bedroom for parents or the lucky one who draws the long straw. The kitchen had everything we needed to store and prepare food. After a long day's ride, a HOT shower was really appreciated. The wifi worked fine and the TV had more than enough channels. The property owner, Mark, was responsive, accommodating and very reasonable. The booking process was easy, check-in was a breeze, and communication was great! You can't go wrong with this place. I will definitely be back.

Cabins were clean and had all the basics you could need. The staff was so friendly and made sure we had an incredible stay. The views were stunning, and loved being able to enjoy a cup of coffee and a book each morning in the deck. The restaurant on-site was delicious and the staff was so knowledgeable and friendly, with great recommendations! Overall, just a perfect weekend getaway to Mammoth!

Sierra Meadows Ranch was beyond what we expected!! First, we were stunned by how great the cabins were. They're in such great shape & very well cleaned. We expected it to feel like we were camping, but the cabins were in such great condition, it felt like we were at a resort. Secondly, the landscape was way more epic than what we thought! The photos do not do it justice. Additionally, the property manager, Mark, was very friendly and showed us around the property and chatted with us about recommendations around the area. (Side note, the ranch is right on the outskirt of town. So it's within walking distance to restaurants, shops, grocery stores, etc! But still quiet enough that makes you feel like you're in the middle of the wilderness)I cannot stress enough how your experience of a place/area is affected by the locals. Mark made us feel so welcomed with his warm and inviting personality! It made us feel like Mammoth/Sierra Meadows Ranch was a home away from home! We will definitely be coming back- maybe even to get married here!! We loved it so much & even took some great portraits of ourselves with the amazing landscape on the ranch.

I got married at the ranch on May 4th, and I have to say every aspect of the experience was incredible. The location itself is stunning, having the Sherwins and Mammoth Mountain as our backdrop we're exactly what my wife and I had been looking for and the ranch delivered. Even more impressive than the location was our experience working with Sierra Meadows Ranch. From our first meeting with Mark things went great. None of us could have expected just how much snow Mammoth got this year, but even when the venue was under 15 feet of snow Mark assured us that he would do everything he could to keep our dream of an outdoor wedding alive. Communication with Mark was easy throughout the planning process, and he was extremely helpful in making sure we had all the correct permits and paperwork submitted, as well as being a huge help in suggesting local vendors of bathrooms, lights, etc. Thankfully for us April warmed up, the snow melted, and Mark truly went above and beyond to make sure that the ranch grounds we're in perfect conditions for our wedding. Up until the morning of he was on hand making sure every detail was taken care of. If you're looking for an incredible, outdoor wedding venue in the Eastern Sierra I truly do not believe that there is anywhere better than Sierra Meadow Ranch. A huge thank you to Mark for making our dream wedding come true!

We didn't have any issues during our stay at the #570 Modern Mountain Retreat in an Idyllic Creekside. The condo had everything we needed and had no issues. It was well updated and the decor was pretty and modern. The available appliances were great (toaster oven, air fryer, large Hamilton crock pot, large tub washer/dryer, etc.) and in good working order. I must highlight, the kitchen knives were good quality and sharp. Quality plates and silverware. Parking was easy and convenient. The hot tub was the building adjacent from our rental. We very much enjoyed our stay. Dog friendly. We will definitely reserve this rental again.

St. Mortimer -- READ Nomadness Rentals on Trustpilot before you book. Terrible support…read more At first impression, the unit is cute, quaint, and centrally located. Unfortunately, that's where the positives end. During a 3-night stay, we experienced numerous maintenance failures and extremely poor support. This unit is clearly not well maintained. The first night, the circuit breaker tripped and we lost power and lights in most of the unit for 12 hours. I called and messaged repeatedly and could not get help. Cooking in pitch black wasn't easy. There was no after-hours emergency number on their voicemail at the time (this appeared only AFTER the incident when I complained). I requested compensation and received none. I was even told there were "no issues," despite being on the phone during business hours and receiving verbal instructions on how to fix it myself. This involved first finding the circuit box outside, then resetting the switches & GFI buttons inside. Finding the unit was also unnecessarily difficult. It's in Building G. We searched for 45 minutes in the dark. This information is buried under "Amenities" instead of being included with check-in instructions. When I pointed this out, I was treated like I was the problem. Additional issues included a TV that randomly stopped working (outlet broke), an extremely finicky furnace (we fixed a broken wire), a broken wall heater, an unsafe and unusable couch bed (claiming it is 'fine' should reflect their standards) pellet bags piled in the living area, flimsy fixtures, a shower door that wouldn't close, and loud furnace/vent noises at night. They want to argue with me because they say it's an easy fix. Well this isn't my house. All I know is the power is out and I have no help in the dark. Don't know where the box is don't know the switches. Plus this was fun- they had a lock in the circuit box! No accountability. Bottom line: poorly maintained unit and terrible management. Their response below alone has been just as dismissive as they have always been. Beware

Just found out Graphic Conclusion is no longer there because the owner died and the wife didn't want to take over...So after the Pandemic and we came up to Rock Creek and Yelped "Pie in the Sky"and it no longer existed... I was bummed... another establishment bit the dust... the Pie in the Sky lady no more.... until today... I kept yelping "food", "burgers", "restaurants" for Rock Creek Lake... nothing... Ineresting Rock Creek Lakes Resort came up... okay, let's look at pictures... hey, Twin Lakes Resort has a good place to eat... even Convict Lake has a nice place to eat... there were some pictures of food... hmmmmm... pulled pork sandwiches? After further investigation, I checked out their website... they got smoked meat? Really... no pics, no menu... even on Yelp... nada... No matter... I will Google maps it and see where this lodge is at... wouldn't you know when I got there it was the Pie in the Sky location... so I dropped everybody off to try their breakfast first... sorry, no picture of the breakfast because I started talking to a long time customer, whose daughter even worked there... she told me the history of Pie in the Sky and told me that their daughter and son in law took over the business... and the Pie in the Sky lady, the daughter's mom still bakes the cobbler... and another daughter in law now bakes the pies... and the son in law built and manages the smoker in the back... she told me to take pictures of the smoker... so I left my bar stool and went out to the back... sure enough Steve, the Pit Master and owner was prepping the brisket and his smoker was getting ready... I asked him what kind of wood they use and he told me they get almond logs locally... very cool... He informed me they make their own BBQ sauce right there... wow... no ribs today, but maybe tomorrow... and today he wanted to roast some corn in the little smoker... after talking I went back in and started talking to the lady customer again... completely forgot to take a picture of my breakfast... I remember the bacon was delicious... and noticed she had French toast... next time... it was too early to buy the BBQ and the pies, so I needed to return at 10:30 when they sell them... at 11:00 my wife and nephew were done fishing and decided to go with me... we came back and I order all the meat available to try... the brisket meal which came with chili and coleslaw... the pulled pork with the same sides and 1/4 pound of Tri Tip... and finding out that the Pie Lady made the cobbler I ordered the peach and berry cobbler along with the Coconut Cream Pie and the Lemon Cream Pie... Finding out that Pie in the Sky never left and was now taken over by family made me very very happy... I took a lot of pics with explanations with scores on all the food... My big surprise was the chili and the lemon cream pie... both got a 10/10... A big thanks to the daughter and son in law taking over the parents business... not only taking it over but making really awesome changes without sacrificing the love and charm of Pie in the Sky... it's cool because Mom and Dad still come around and help out with the business... Oh... here's another interesting thing... I asked Steve if he wanted me to make a Yelp for the restaurant and he said he has one up... It's called, Miller and Son's BBQ Sauce Brewing... when I went to their site there was no reviews no pics... so I was the first to put pics on the site... now I will go there and write another review at that site... so there you go... Pie in the Sky is now Miller and Son's BBQ Sauce Brewing... and I did go home with both the Original and the Velvet (tinge of coffee flavor) both are delicious and I will put that on my slow cooked meat... hahahaha... no offset though just a Traeger... Hoping more people who loved Pie in the Sky will find it again!

Convict Lake and Mammoth Lakes were on my bucket list for so many years. Living in the Bay Area means it's a rough 5-6 hours of driving through windy mountainous roads. Thus, we wanted to pick a place to stay that could provide us the comfort of home we needed. And Convict Lake Resort delivered! From the booking process to checking in and later checking out, everything was a breeze! We received emails reminder from staff detailing easy steps needed to check in. When it looked like we might arrive late, they promptly sent us instructions for self check in. Luckily we arrived on time before the gift shop close. Each cabin has 1 parking spot for your car. However, there are many parking spaces within walking distance to your cabin if you and your party happen to have more than 1 car. As soon as we opened the door into our cabin, our stress and exhaustion of the long drive melted away! We love the high vaulted ceiling, the warm woody interior and how spacious and clean the inside of our cabin was! It was so welcoming and smells so good! You could tell that the staff did a wonderful job cleaning and preparing for your stay! Thank you ! The kitchen area was another highlights of the cabin! It was big with full amenities! We used it so many times during our stay to cook our meals and everything in between! Microwaves, fridges, freezer, chopping board, plate wares, forks and spoons, etc. You name it, they have it! There's a door by the kitchen area which gave you access to the mini wood behind your cabin. We once spotted some deers here during twilight times . And the BATHROOM!!! We LOVE IT!! Super spacious with nice rain-forest shower head! After a long day being active outside like hiking, kayaking and other stuff, we came home to the cabin, hopped into the shower and let all our fatigue washed away! I swear this shower had some acupuncture magic as it soothed my tired body so well! The sliding door to the bathroom was so modern and chic itself. We love the tiny windows looking out to the wood beside our cabin. We joked to each other that "Number 2 with a great view !" Not only the inside was amazing, the outside porch area with the gas grill was another bonus! Never had we ever seen such a clean grill like this! Kudos again to the staff ! We utilized the grill many times during our visits and enjoyed a dinner or breakfast outdoor with our pup :) And first time in our life, we saw such a dog friendly place! Every cabin seemed to have at least one dog. My puppy Butter had such a wonderful socializing with all his furry friends and neighbors. We enjoyed walking around and checking out the resort on the lovely trails surrounding the resort and looked at all the amazing mountains. Convict Lake Resort is just 10 minutes of walking and 5 minutes of driving from Convict Lake. Location! Location! Location!! There's a lovely restaurant onsite that I'll review in details in another review :) Overall, AMAZING place and words cannot describe how satisfied we were! We'll definitely come back and recommend this place with all our family and friends :)
