First time here, didn't realize how close it was off the road. Amazing gift shop. Very clean restrooms, they offer rooms to rent as well as a wedding venue. Kid and animal friendly, trout stocked lake. Breathtaking views. Easy access for someone with disabilities, can drive almost all the way around the lake. Very clean, quiet, and felt very safe. Picnic tables available as well. Highly recommend and would return. Camping spaces available as well but did not see any campers.

Convict Lake Resort was absolutely wonderful. The cabins were beautiful. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and very helpful. The cabin I stayed in was clean, well maintained, and equipped with everything you would need (stove, fridge, pots and pans, plates, etc). The shower had excellent water pressure, which was a pleasant surprise, and the bed and pillows were very comfortable, making it easy to relax after a day outdoors. It also has a fancy restaurant that offers plenty of dishes. Overall, it was a fantastic stay, and I would highly recommend Convict Lake Resort to anyone looking for a comfortable and peaceful getaway. Would definitely come back.

Not sure prices for cabins are actually worth it. Parking near marina is always full. Restrooms by bridge area were remodeled recently, however they were dirty & out of toilet paper. Someone should be checking these periodically throughout the day as the lake can get very congested sometimes there is no parking. Plus side, Lake is beautiful, have been visiting the Sierras for many years but can longer really enjoy this place due to crowds. You can rent boats for the lake & it has a general store with a lot of goods. No styrofoam coolers, so bring your own.

Exceptional Birthday Celebration !! Our cabin had incredible Views, and Everything you would want a more. Jacuzzi outside and the Best Steam Shower and Jacuzzi Tub, When making this reservation, I went in and met with Pete, He is extremely kind and knowledgeable and just made you feel like you couldn't wait to explore all the adventures of Convict Lake and staying at the cabins as well as eating at their famous restaurant where my husband and I enjoyed an amazing meal that is to die for, your pallet will be satisfied. Everything on the menu is amazing. The chef is exceptional. The presentation of the meal you just will never forget it a great wine list. We had a wonderful Server. His name was Steve. He just was knowledgeable about all the dishes and paired them very well with the wine list,so get out there an enjoy what Mammoth has to offer and go to Convict Lake and stay at the resort.

Convict Lake is a very special place--there is truly nowhere else on earth like it! I've been coming to Convict Lake since I was in high school in the 1980s, and later we brought our kids here to camp in our tent trailer from 2008 through 2016. This year, for the first time, we stayed in one of the cabins (Cottonwood 20), and we loved it. The cabin was comfortable, clean, and perfectly set up for a relaxing getaway while still letting us enjoy the stunning scenery and peaceful feeling that Convict Lake has always given us. Waking up in the morning and looking out at the lake and mountains felt like coming home. The resort staff were friendly and helpful, and everything was well cared for. It was wonderful to experience Convict Lake in a new way while still holding onto the family traditions and memories that make this place so important to us. If you're looking for a place to reconnect with nature, unwind, and create lasting memories, Convict Lake will not disappoint. We can't wait to return.

Fantastic experience. Beautiful location. Pristine snow covered peaks. Cabin with views. A true white Christmas.

We always have a great time staying at Convict Lake. The staff is very helpful. We will be back in September.

Perfect weather 63 degrees sunny. We stayed in the Lone Pine cabin which was small but perfect for our needs which is why we picked that particular cabin. I am most particular about cleanliness and I was very impressed at how clean it was when we arrived. There are deer all over the property roaming around. There is a restaurant and general store. We had a great time hiking and enjoying nature. Thank you Convict Lake Resorts.

Before and after. But not caught at the lake.

Really wanting to catch fish but not knowing exactly where and with what. Chris was helpful. Cabin was nice. Mostly clean. A few bugs here and there, but I guess that's to be expected. Floor showed up on my slipper socks big time. Again, i guess that's too be expected. Grill worked great. Never like to give 5 stars. Bambis were a treat in the am. Had a great stay. Thank you.

This place is a great little nature getaway. There's plenty of cabins. Some have went through remodeling. The lakes water is like a cold plunge. A few different rental options of boats to kayaks, horseback riding, trails and a camping sites. Theres a restaurant and general store. Some people get married here.

Convict lake is beautiful every time we come here. Arrived late June and rented a pontoon boat for the day. The people at the marina are awesome and super friendly. My family had an amazing time. The weather in June was beautiful, but the water is super cold, I believe it was 48°. So I would definitely recommend coming in July when it's warmer.

Dinner and drinks!

The Staff in the Store and the folks in the Restaurant/Bar were great! Janice and Pete did a fantastic job meeting my needs!

I came in here around 11am, however, their restaurant doesn't open until noon. There is a really nice lounge area where there are two fireplaces, jazz playing and a really cozy space to just relax. I just came here both days resting between XC sessions, ate some lunch I brought, had some water and just chilled out. Id definitely love to return and have a cocktail here and hang out here with a special someone, flirting the night away, plotting some clandestine tryst (maybe a beautiful hike into the mountains behind - looking at stars, listening for wild animals) and deeply enjoying life, big grins, and making each day count. Id also consider staying here on my next return, the surrounding area is just gorgeous!

We stayed in a cabin and it was fantastic. We had a deck overlooking Twin Lakes and the cliffs above, a kitchen where we cooked one night (who wants to leave heaven?), a fireplace, and was totally clean. The only downside and definitely a star deduction was perhaps it was too clean and smelled strongly of cleaning solution. We left open all the window and turned up the heat at night and turned on all the fans when we left for the day and by the second day, it was tolerable. Continental breakfast was fine with hard boiled eggs and yogurt for protein and cream cheese and peanut butter and all the toastable carbs. We loved our hikes and I loved kayaking on Twin Lakes. It's a perfect one-hour paddle and so peaceful up at the waterfall.

Coffee makers in the rooms are terrible and leak everywhere. Luckily they have coffee near the front desk. 3 stars Food: Due to staffing shortages they sometimes have to cancel the continental breakfast. be sure to bring your own or be ready to go out to eat. Comfort There is no central heating with thermostat so you have to use the wall unit. I would recommend turning that on immediately upon arriving in the room because it takes a while to heat up. 3 stars. They do have a Jacuzzi on the bottom floor and it is quite large. There's a noisy fan blowing so consider bringing some noise canceling headphones if you're going to go into that water. Swimwear might be sensible as well other than that I had a smooth check-in and they got all my particulars exactly right. 5 stars. comfort: bring earplugs because the doors in the hallways are heavy and loud. they're constantly slamming every time somebody comes and goes. The bathrooms are standing showers (no tubs). I always wish there was a handheld wand/hose instead of the spigot that just rains on you. Maybe consider bringing one of those handhelds too?

They don't have elevators here, so if you have mobility issues, ask for a room on the first floor. The rooms were very nice and spacious. Beds were comfortable. The entry door was heavy and needed a bigger shove to get it to close, so not too convenient. The bathroom door was interesting, but very annoying and not that practical. It makes too much noise, and it can wake people up in the middle of the night even someone uses the bathroom. There is warm breakfast available in the early morning. It was simple and nice. Overall, a wonderful stay.

For a "shoulder season" getaway, you really ought to put Juniper Springs Resort on your list! I…read moremean, if you're a skiier, you probably already know about it, but in the off season (before the snows), you can get a room for a low rate, and still have the whole of Mammoth Lakes at your doorstep to explore! Tons of shops, restaurants, breweries, distilleries, etc. await! For amenities, Juniper Springs Resort boasts a pool, an exercise room, a jacuzzi, and beautiful lounging areas. The rooms all have small balconies where you can get some fresh air and admire the scenery. And (we learned mid-trip) the resort is one of four regular stops for the local free shuttle/trolley that comes by every 30 minutes or so and is free to use. On top of that, the resort is adjacent to one of Mammoth Lakes' many ski lifts, so at least some of the runs are available literally right at your doorstep. The room we rented was comfortable and spacious, with a full kitchen, nice comfy living room with gas fireplace, and a separate bedroom, and there were TVs in both rooms. Parking, by the way, is underground, which is assuredly a huge perk during the winter snows. Overall, we were very pleased with our stay, and would definitely consider staying there again. Couple of things they could have done better: 1. Guests should be made aware at check-in of the availability of the shuttle/trolley. My sweetheart was stuck at the hotel for a day until we figured this out for ourselves, as even when asked about Uber/Lyft, the front desk never mentioned the shuttle. 2. The ice machine on the 4th floor was perpetually empty. Not sure if it was just being regularly raided by other guests, or if it was in need of service. 3. A blender we attempted to use (provided as one of the in-room amenities) leaked its contents out through the bottom seal like a seive. When I disassembled it to check the gasket, I found black mold. The front desk was unable to help, but offered to remove it for us. 4. The televisions in the room were not "smart" in the sense that we could not "cast" to them from our phones. We do this a lot, so it's not a user error thing. Just beware you will be limited to whatever viewing options the TV/cable service provides. PRO TIP 1: Hinging off of #3 above, the rooms in the resort are potentially privately owned. Apparently ours was, and was rented out as a sort of Air-BnB. This was the reason the hotel couldn't help with the blender, as it is not an item the resort provides, but was provided by the owner. PRO TIP 2: BEWARE THE ELEVATOR DOORS! They close VERY quickly after opening, and we were struck by them several times. Open the door, stick your hand in, and once everyone has gone in or out, then remove your hand. I'll end with a funny/silly observation. In the elevators was posted a list of the hotel regulations, among which were the parking requirements. The advisement ended with a warning that vehicles parked inappropriately, and not corrected within 24 hours, would have a "boot" affixed to their vehicle. In a nutshell, if your vehicle is parked in such a way that it is causing a problem, their "fix" will be to make that situation permanent. Totally makes sense.

They also offer ski valet right in the lobby, which makes the walk even shorter. Huge plus: boot dryers. Check-in was super easy, and we upgraded our room to one of their "condos." Just to set expectations: this isn't a full condo. It's essentially a hotel room with a small living area and a Murphy bed. Still comfortable and totally fine for what we needed. The best part of this hotel is that it's dog-friendly -- and truly dog-friendly. Any size dog, big or small, and there were dogs everywhere (including ours). There's a forested area behind the hotel that's perfect for letting your pup play in the snow. One downside: some guests don't pick up after their dogs, so there was dog poop around even though the hotel provides bag dispensers. Maybe adding more (or enforcing cleanup) would help. The price is good, the hotel is clean, but it is old -- very old -- and definitely showing its age. The hallway floors are uneven, the elevator makes some questionable noises, and nothing about it feels modern. That said, after skiing all day, the four hot tubs and heated pool are amazing and very much appreciated. I stay here for convenience, not luxury. The beds are comfortable, towels are clean, and that's honestly all we need. Plus, it's close to The Yodler, our favorite restaurant. We've stayed here many times before and will stay many times again.

The rooms are noisy with paper-thin walls--you can hear guests walking, talking, and moving around all night long, making it nearly impossible to sleep. It honestly felt like people were walking inside my room. The room itself is poorly maintained and outdated, with dirty, stained carpets and a bathroom that was not clean. Nothing felt refreshed or well cared for, which is unacceptable at this price point. Breakfast was equally terrible. The food was cold, the omelet was tough and rubbery, and overall the quality was far below expectations--borderline inedible. Between the noise, lack of cleanliness, outdated rooms, and overpriced rates, this place is absolutely not worth the money. I would not stay here again and do not recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable or restful stay.
