10/1/2025- Updated review: stayed one night although I booked for two nights. First impressions- very impressive- Arrived early but had to come back at 11 am to check in- Wanted to check are bags in but because it's their slow time and they were doing extra cleaning bell person suggested we keep our luggage- Room was on the 7th floor and a bigger sized studio.. nice clear view from window.. Loved the room itself- nice kitchen- included pots and pans and utensils- I brought my own coffee grinds and filters.. as I was told there was a coffee maker in the room- It was not a coffee maker- the hotel one that already had packets of coffee and filter - The bathroom was decent but maintenance needs to pay attention and caulk the bathtub-- Small fitness room with basic equipment-.. glad they have one Two pools and one hot soaking pool (closed for winter). Hotel restaurant- was nice-I loved the Eating well menu.. Parking indoor-tight squeeze but nice and stalls had charging stations- Glad I picked a good hotel.. Staff was very helpful-

We had an amazing time in this hotel. It has a nice and convenient location walking distance from The Village Mammoth and near the trolley and bus stops. They have a secured parking garage... feels safe in the area. As we check in, we were greeted with warmth and sweet smile by the front desk, Bea and company were so informative and very accommodating with all my queries. Inside was a cozy restaurant with good comfy food in the menu. The room was so cozy and homey, with the kitchenette and has all the basic needs we have for the stay. Because of our good experience and amazing staff who were courteous and efficient, recommended it to my family and friends as well. We made wonderfuL good memories during our visit. Also a pet frienDLy resort hoteL... now thinking & planning of coming back with our fur baby soon.

Really like it here. Parking is convenient and safe and the studio room is awesome. Although the decor is modern, some of the details like caulking around the tub needs touching up. All in all, I like it here and will come again in the future. Oh and uh, bring your own TP the stuff here is pretty thin

Excellent place to stay in Mammoth Lakes. Enjoyed my 1 night stay here. Service from front desk was great. Room was clean and spacious. Complimentary breakfast was delicious. The pool was heated and the jacuzzi was relaxing. Will definitely stay here again the next time I come back to Mammoth Lakes. Highly recommend!

My first trip to Mammoth couldn't have been better, and I chose the perfect hotel! Upon arrival, I was warmly welcomed by the manager, Tim, who was not only professional but also incredibly helpful. He went above and beyond by upgrading us to a room with breathtaking views and sharing his top recommendations for dining and nightlife in the village. He even made restaurant reservations for us--like at Lakefront-and arranged for the hotel's shuttle service! On our first night, we had dinner at the hotel's restaurant, Whitebark, and it was absolutely delicious. At the bar, we were greeted by Paula, who made the experience even more special. She crafted an incredible cocktail for me-like an espresso martini, but decaf and made with tequila-complete with a sweet and salty rim that was a delightful surprise! Her warmth and hospitality made the evening feel so cozy and welcoming. I can't wait to return! Run don't walk to this amazing hotel!! PS Did I mention it's also dog friendly?

I recently stayed here for 3 nights with my son and really enjoyed our time. The service from the front desk was wonderful. We ran into a road closure on the way, so I called the hotel to see if they had any updates. Bri was incredibly helpful, she actually called me back with updated info, which made a stressful drive a little easier. When we arrived, it was also Bri who checked us in. She greeted me with a glass of wine (much needed after that long, nerve-wracking drive!) and even surprised my son by sending a birthday cake to our room. Such a thoughtful touch. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything we needed, which was great since we cooked a couple of meals. The room itself was nicely furnished, though the bathroom could use a bit of maintenance, some fresh caulking around the tub and attention to the peeling surface would make a big difference. Parking was convenient with a structured garage and EV chargers. The charging fee is definitely higher than Supercharging, but the convenience was worth it. Overall, I was very pleased with our stay and would definitely come back!

Clean rooms and very spacious. We had a fireplace, and it's super convenient location close to many stores and food places. You can tell whoever the bathroom can use an upgrade and they forgot our comforter. Overall good stay.

Third floor view from the one bedroom overlooking the village. Very convenient to walk to restaurants and shops and never get in your car.

We had a delightful experience, staying for four nights at the Westin in the days leading up to Christmas. William, the front desk manager and Willow, the guest services manager, was extremely accommodating to us! We had accidentally booked our room for four of us in a studio instead of a one bedroom and William and Willow were very quick to accommodate us and get us into a one bedroom, which was modern, clean, spacious, with many luxurious amenities! The hotel, even though very busy for the holiday, never felt crowded, the guest clientele were respectful, and overall a fairly quiet hotel. We were really impressed with the rooms, the food and the restaurant, and how convenient the hotel is to the Canyon Lodge via gondola. We have stayed in Mammoth many times at different Airbnb's and townhomes, but this experience at the Westin has changed my mind and I now prefer the hotel experience because of the proximity and ease of the whole experience. Thank you again William and Willow. You really went above and beyond to make us feel special for our stay.

    Otis, relaxing on his vacation.

We hit the jackpot on this trip, both in timing and accommodations. The town was so quiet you could hear a pin drop. Literally only a few people walking around the village. Not good for business, but nice if you like a peaceful vibe. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Monache Westin. We had our pug pup with us and he thought he was the king of the mountain, so popular with the staff. Tim, one of the Shift Managers assisted in making our stay so enjoyable. He was extremely nice, accommodating and professional. Thank you very much!

    I love this fireplace!

4.5 stars rounded up (do I sound like a snob!? Lol but I really do wish Yelp lets us do half stars). We used a Marriott FNC here, and it exceeded our expectations. I'm not sure if their website photos were just unflattering or what, but the room looked much better than I anticipated during booking! PROS: -fireplace in the room!!! This place would be so cozy in the winter. The small living area of the room was well set up, with a comfortable couch. -we were lucky to get a high floor room, so the view overlooking The Village and the mountains were beautiful! -there was a kitchenette in the room (2 stove burners), with some pots and utensils provided! Plus a mini fridge. -TV has Netflix that lets you log in -parking garage is connected to the hotel so you don't have to go outside to get to your car. Useful in the winter -staff was friendly, and the glasses of welcome wine upon check in was a lovely touch -lots of lucky doggos come through this hotel, very fun to check them out :) you can people watch AND dog watch! -it's right next to The Village, which is super convenient CONS: -while there was a small, basic seating area near the check in counter, I don't think there was an actual lobby where guests could comfortably hang out for hours. It seems like a real missed opportunity for some "impressive upscale rustic winter log cabin living room" aesthetic, and I'm a bit surprised and disappointed that a Westin brand hotel didn't have a true lobby. If anyone cares... I think the check in desks can be moved next to the main doors, then the area where it is now can be turned into a lobby that stretches into the hotel towards the restaurants. That'd be awesome! -things are a bit run down all around. Small examples: -the stove burner dials don't work super well, and the writing is faded, so it took some trial and error just to figure out which way to turn up the heat -similarly, the shower knobs don't work perfectly and it takes a while to figure things out. Speaking of which, it seems like the hot water gets used up at night? I showered during the night, then again the next morning when I checked out, and the water was a lot hotter during the day -parking was not free. I shouldn't expect it to be, but it should've been nice. -the gym was a bit dingy, but you're at a place where you should get your physical activity in at the beautiful outdoors In the end, we really enjoyed our stay. The cons are just things to nitpick at, and to be honest, for how much traffic they get (people AND dogs), and the fact that a lot of people visit to ski and do outdoors stuff (meaning they probably come back really dirty and with lots of equipments and luggage dragged around)... I think the hotel does a darn good job with the upkeep. The rooms are definitely a bit worn, but I'm kind of impressed that it's not even more so. I think this place is great for the location and beautiful surroundings, and for the rooms that may not be great, but imo very solid. I would love to return around Christmas some day!

This hotel is a very good place to stay at if you are skiing in Mammoth. First of all, the ski valet is amazing and if you didn't have their valet, you would have to carry your skis SO far. The staff are nice and helpful. The hotel is right next to the gondola. The pool is good and you can easily still swim during winter since it is warm. They also have a gym with good and entertaining treadmills.

We absolutely loved this hotel. So much that I doubt I'd stay anywhere else in upcoming trips to Mammoth. It's beautiful, clean, comfortable and has all the amenities you'll need to enjoy a nice vacation. We had requested an early check in and the front desk graciously checked us in hours early. However the first room was occupied, luckily the guests were not in the room when we walked in. That could have been super embarrassing. The second room, had a do not disturb sign outside the door and had the safety lock in place. I kept a good sense of humor, but my husband was a bit annoyed. That quickly changed when we were given a complimentary upgrade. The room was BEAUTIFUL!!! We loved our stay and the village was just a few steps away where we enjoyed some nice meals, ice cream and lovely walks. If you enjoy running or cycling, there's plenty of safe roads sidewalks outside the hotel too. I noticed a local shuttle that drops off at the hotel as well. The hotel offers free parking and they're pet friendly too!!

Had a great experience here. Room was updated and clean, with a nice view. Parking was easy and charging was free and fast (they have Clipper Creek J1772 L2 plugs and a pair of Tesla chargers with the magic dock adapter). Staff was friendly. Restaurant was also great for breakfast with good food and nice wait staff.

I just came here both days resting between XC sessions, ate some lunch I brought, had some water and just chilled out. Id definitely love to return and have a cocktail here and hang out here with a special someone, flirting the night away, plotting some clandestine tryst (maybe a beautiful hike into the mountains behind - looking at stars, listening for wild animals) and deeply enjoying life, big grins, and making each day count. The only downside and definitely a star deduction was perhaps it was too clean and smelled strongly of cleaning solution. We left open all the window and turned up the heat at night and turned on all the fans when we left for the day and by the second day, it was tolerable. Continental breakfast was fine with hard boiled eggs and yogurt for protein and cream cheese and peanut butter and all the toastable carbs. We loved our hikes and I loved kayaking on Twin Lakes. Convict Lake and Mammoth Lakes were on my bucket list for so many years. Living in the Bay Area means it's a rough 5-6 hours of driving through windy mountainous roads. Thus, we wanted to pick a place to stay that could provide us the comfort of home we needed. And Convict Lake Resort delivered! From the booking process to checking in and later checking out, everything was a breeze! We received emails reminder from staff detailing easy steps needed to check in. When it looked like we might arrive late, they promptly sent us instructions for self check in. Luckily we arrived on time before the gift shop close. Each cabin has 1 parking spot for your car. However, there are many parking spaces within walking distance to your cabin if you and your party happen to have more than 1 car. As soon as we opened the door into our cabin, our stress and exhaustion of the long drive melted away! We love the high vaulted ceiling, the warm woody interior and how spacious and clean the inside of our cabin was! It was so welcoming and smells so good! You could tell that the staff did a wonderful job cleaning and preparing for your stay! Thank you ! The kitchen area was another highlights of the cabin! It was big with full amenities! We used it so many times during our stay to cook our meals and everything in between! Microwaves, fridges, freezer, chopping board, plate wares, forks and spoons, etc. You name it, they have it! There's a door by the kitchen area which gave you access to the mini wood behind your cabin. We once spotted some deers here during twilight times . And the BATHROOM!!! We LOVE IT!! Super spacious with nice rain-forest shower head! After a long day being active outside like hiking, kayaking and other stuff, we came home to the cabin, hopped into the shower and let all our fatigue washed away! I swear this shower had some acupuncture magic as it soothed my tired body so well! The sliding door to the bathroom was so modern and chic itself. We love the tiny windows looking out to the wood beside our cabin. We joked to each other that "Number 2 with a great view !" Not only the inside was amazing, the outside porch area with the gas grill was another bonus! Never had we ever seen such a clean grill like this! Kudos again to the staff ! We utilized the grill many times during our visits and enjoyed a dinner or breakfast outdoor with our pup :) And first time in our life, we saw such a dog friendly place! Every cabin seemed to have at least one dog. My puppy Butter had such a wonderful socializing with all his furry friends and neighbors. We enjoyed walking around and checking out the resort on the lovely trails surrounding the resort and looked at all the amazing mountains. Convict Lake Resort is just 10 minutes of walking and 5 minutes of driving from Convict Lake. Location! Location! Location!! There's a lovely restaurant onsite that I'll review in details in another review :) Overall, AMAZING place and words cannot describe how satisfied we were! We'll definitely come back and recommend this place with all our family and friends :)

I…read moremean, if you're a skiier, you probably already know about it, but in the off season (before the snows), you can get a room for a low rate, and still have the whole of Mammoth Lakes at your doorstep to explore! Tons of shops, restaurants, breweries, distilleries, etc. await! For amenities, Juniper Springs Resort boasts a pool, an exercise room, a jacuzzi, and beautiful lounging areas. The rooms all have small balconies where you can get some fresh air and admire the scenery. And (we learned mid-trip) the resort is one of four regular stops for the local free shuttle/trolley that comes by every 30 minutes or so and is free to use. On top of that, the resort is adjacent to one of Mammoth Lakes' many ski lifts, so at least some of the runs are available literally right at your doorstep. The room we rented was comfortable and spacious, with a full kitchen, nice comfy living room with gas fireplace, and a separate bedroom, and there were TVs in both rooms. Parking, by the way, is underground, which is assuredly a huge perk during the winter snows. Overall, we were very pleased with our stay, and would definitely consider staying there again. Couple of things they could have done better: 1. Guests should be made aware at check-in of the availability of the shuttle/trolley. My sweetheart was stuck at the hotel for a day until we figured this out for ourselves, as even when asked about Uber/Lyft, the front desk never mentioned the shuttle. 2. The ice machine on the 4th floor was perpetually empty. Not sure if it was just being regularly raided by other guests, or if it was in need of service. 3. A blender we attempted to use (provided as one of the in-room amenities) leaked its contents out through the bottom seal like a seive. When I disassembled it to check the gasket, I found black mold. The front desk was unable to help, but offered to remove it for us. 4. The televisions in the room were not "smart" in the sense that we could not "cast" to them from our phones. We do this a lot, so it's not a user error thing. Just beware you will be limited to whatever viewing options the TV/cable service provides. PRO TIP 1: Hinging off of #3 above, the rooms in the resort are potentially privately owned. Apparently ours was, and was rented out as a sort of Air-BnB. This was the reason the hotel couldn't help with the blender, as it is not an item the resort provides, but was provided by the owner. PRO TIP 2: BEWARE THE ELEVATOR DOORS! They close VERY quickly after opening, and we were struck by them several times. Open the door, stick your hand in, and once everyone has gone in or out, then remove your hand. I'll end with a funny/silly observation. In the elevators was posted a list of the hotel regulations, among which were the parking requirements. The advisement ended with a warning that vehicles parked inappropriately, and not corrected within 24 hours, would have a "boot" affixed to their vehicle. In a nutshell, if your vehicle is parked in such a way that it is causing a problem, their "fix" will be to make that situation permanent. Totally makes sense.

Check-in was super easy, and we upgraded our room to one of their "condos." Just to set expectations: this isn't a full condo. It's essentially a hotel room with a small living area and a Murphy bed. Still comfortable and totally fine for what we needed. The best part of this hotel is that it's dog-friendly -- and truly dog-friendly. Any size dog, big or small, and there were dogs everywhere (including ours). There's a forested area behind the hotel that's perfect for letting your pup play in the snow. One downside: some guests don't pick up after their dogs, so there was dog poop around even though the hotel provides bag dispensers. Maybe adding more (or enforcing cleanup) would help. The price is good, the hotel is clean, but it is old -- very old -- and definitely showing its age. The hallway floors are uneven, the elevator makes some questionable noises, and nothing about it feels modern. That said, after skiing all day, the four hot tubs and heated pool are amazing and very much appreciated. I stay here for convenience, not luxury. The beds are comfortable, towels are clean, and that's honestly all we need. Plus, it's close to The Yodler, our favorite restaurant. We've stayed here many times before and will stay many times again.

This was one of the worst hotel experiences I've had, especially given the high price Mammoth…read moreMountain Inn charges. The rooms are noisy with paper-thin walls--you can hear guests walking, talking, and moving around all night long, making it nearly impossible to sleep. It honestly felt like people were walking inside my room. The room itself is poorly maintained and outdated, with dirty, stained carpets and a bathroom that was not clean. Nothing felt refreshed or well cared for, which is unacceptable at this price point. Breakfast was equally terrible. The food was cold, the omelet was tough and rubbery, and overall the quality was far below expectations--borderline inedible. Between the noise, lack of cleanliness, outdated rooms, and overpriced rates, this place is absolutely not worth the money. I would not stay here again and do not recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable or restful stay.
