Our family has a cabin on Silver Lake , close to the Double Eagle Resort. We have not stayed at the resort but have used the facilities and we eat at their restaurant. It's a beautiful location, and lovely grounds. The rooms need some updating. The facilities are nice with a spa, swimming pool, weight room, etc. Great location to Silver Lake Resort which is down the road. They have boat and kayak rentals. Cute store and great food.

Charming cozy cabin - the perfect place to get away and enjoy my favorite things

We were delighted with our first (won't be our last) time at Double Eagle! The charming old fashioned well maintained resort reached our expectations and met our needs in every way. The classic 2 bedroom cabin with outstanding forest view had plenty of room (sure the toilet was a little low for us and be prepared for stairs to the entrance). The cute little kitchen was just right for a quick meal (and when we didn't feel like making dinner one eve we gladly picked up our delicious dinner from their restaurant). We were delighted with our morning visit by local deer & sitting out on the deck was the perfect place to relax. Highly recommend it! Don't let negative reviews steer you away - this is not the Ritz but it's certainly a wonderful cabin experience. ;-)

Gorgeous set right up against the mountain, property is small and quaint; staff was super friendly and grounds are stunning.

My family stopped here for the night on our way to Lake Tahoe. This place was an absolute gem! Gorgeous scenery nestled up against the mountain. The entire resort was quiet and calm. The room was large, jacuzzi tub, fridge, sink with coffee pot, a patio overlooking their cute pond that you can fish in. The pool was indoors, the staff who worked in the Spa/pool area were so hospitable. The restaurant on sight was really good. There was a gorgeous scenic walk from our room to the restaurant. The food was decently priced, portions were good and the food was flavorful. We had the salmon, ribeye, burger and tomato soup with grilled cheese. We will definitely be back here for a longer stay!

My family and I come hear once a year. It's our favorite place to visit. I'd describe it as "rustic luxury". 10/10 will stay here again!

    Yes, email the innkeeper.

Does this resort have a laundry facility on site?

We have laundry facilities on site but they are for resort operations. There is a laundromat down the street about one mile at Fern Creek. Hope this helps.

The place has such a cozy, nostalgic charm, you really feel like you're tucked away in a quiet mountain town, but still close to everything you need. The cottage was super clean and had everything we needed: a fully equipped kitchen, comfortable beds, and even a little fireplace that made the evenings feel extra special. The location couldn't be better, just a short walk to June Lake Marina, restaurants, a general store. We spent the day exploring the lakes and trails, and in the evening, we grilled outside with the kids. The whole vibe is very family-friendly and peaceful. It felt like a little mountain escape without having to "rough it." We'd definitely come back again, it's the kind of place you want to revisit every year. Highly recommend if you're looking for a quiet, comfortable, and charming place to stay in June Lake with kids!

The building is in a very walkable area. Check in was easy and the people who run the place seem sweet. Cons The walls are so thin that you hear EVERYTHING that your neighbors are doing. The first night I had to endure singing, loud talking, laughing, screaming for hours! My husband went and knocked on the door at 10:20 p.m. to ask the girls to quiet down, but it made no difference. The walls are just too thin. The second evening new people came who were just as loud, so we cut our trip short and just went home. Maybe the stand-alone cabins don't have this issue, but the cabin we were in shared walls and we heard every dog bark, toilet flush, phone conversation, etc. It wasn't very relaxing, and I felt like it put a damper on our vacation weekend. If noise doesn't bother you or you are in a stand-alone cabin, you will probably have a better experience than we did.

The cabin is a nice size for a couple, or maybe a small family, but to sleep 10?, I think it would be cramped. The fridge is a very small dorm room sized one. We could only get the front burners on the electric stove to work, and we didn't try the oven. The heater in the bathroom does not stay on,which is not great, when you go to take a shower and it's a VERY cold morning. One of the provided towels seemed to have some hard, blue stuff stuck to it. The toilet is...tilted. This is a little disconcerting if you have to get up to pee during the night and almost fall off of it! The bed in the downstairs bedroom is soft. VERY soft....and sinks into the middle. My husband and I basically kept rolling into each other all night and had to fight for space. The futon in the living room did not make for a very comfortable couch at all, and would take a SOUND sleeper to be able to sleep on it. The heater in the living room area seems to work well, and we didn't need the one in the bedroom as it seems to stay pretty warm if you keep the door closed. We were unable to use the wood burning stove as they only provide wood during the winter months, and we didn't feel like buying any. It would be great if we could have used it though. It got down into the low 40's to high 30's at night. The whole place needs updating as it looks like it came straight out of the 50's, but not in a cool, kitchy way. The railing on the deck...we get that nobody is suppose to climb on it,but when we even touched it, the entire railing wobbled Also, the screen on one of the doors was off the track, and no matter how many times we fixed it, it was just difficult to use. The tiny TV, had a sound restrictor on it, or something, as it was very quiet and sometimes impossible to hear. The remote did not work to turn it off or on. Now, the pros. The view of the mountains, out the back is beautiful. The deck, provided with some VERY old, plastic chairs and one lounger, was ok. Would have been nice to have a little table as well, so we had a secure place to put our coffee cups, during breakfast in the morning. The kitchen, though dated, is well stocked with dishes, utensils, cookware and cleaning supplies. There are barbeques, but no shade or places to eat or sit while bbqing. There IS WiFi, and the code was provided right in the cabin. It worked pretty well the entire time. The bathtub was large enough for me to stretch out in and soak in. There is a microwave, coffee maker and toaster also provided. The place was clean, but very dated. In summary, this is a housekeeping cabin. If you are looking for maid service, room service or other hotel resort type ammenities, this is NOT the place for you. This is more basic. We will consider returning IF some things, such as the bed, stairs and railings are fixed.

At three stars, I think Miranda's review (the only other at the time of this posting) is very…read moregenerous. Resort? I thought resorts were supposed to cater to your needs or something. Instead, when we arrived, we got a 10 minute lecture about how there is no maid service, we can't use the wood burning stove, there's no paper towels for the kitchen (at least there's East German surplus toilet paper on hand), there's a drought in California, leave your car unlocked because of bears (what?), keep the curtains closed basically always, sweep before you leave, and on and on and on. Oh, and the entry steps and landing (which is 6 feet up) - I had to pray they wouldn't crumble beneath me because the wood is so rotten - who inspects these places? Helen Keller at night? I was actually nervous every time I would enter and exit the place - what a relaxing resort-style vacation this turned out to be. Full kitchen? Look closely at the picture on the website - there is a tiny dorm-sized refrigerator that didn't freeze water after three days of it sitting in the freezer section - and that's after I spent two hours of my vacation defrosting it. There's hardly any room for one person in the kitchen, and if someone wants something, it's a total hassle to get it. And the luxurious bed - my wife would blink and the mattress bounced so much I nearly flew out of the bed. Add to that the 1960's blanket made of who knows how much polyester and you have resort-level romance in the making. Not to mention the boot-camp instructions on the wall which read, "on your last day don't strip your bed" - what? So they can see if the sheets really need to be changed or just straightened out for the next guest? Ewwww. The picture shows a comfortable looking couch, but ours was an unyielding uncomfortable futon covered with another nasty old blanket. I couldn't get comfortable while watching the 17 inch old-fashioned TV. Also, no Wi-Fi - lemme check. Yup. It's 2014. Need I say more. The entire "resort" is in disrepair and shabby. Weed growth between buildings. Parking area nothing but dirt and stones (not gravel). Solitary BBQ sitting across parking area with no seating or picnic table or anything. I like how Wikipedia puts it: "In North American English, the term "resort" is now also used for a self-contained commercial establishment which attempts to provide for most of a vacationer's wants while remaining on the premises, such as food, drink, lodging, sports, entertainment, and shopping. The term may be used to identify a hotel property that provides an array of amenities and typically includes entertainment and recreational activities". Now, take the opposite of Wiki's definition and you have The Four Season's June Lake.

When we were in route, we discovered the entire town of June Lake was without power and the motel never notified me. I only learned about the outage through social media, not from the motel staff. This wasn't a minor issue. I had my children and my dog with me, and I rely on an electrical medical device at night, so being without power was not an option. A simple call or email would have allowed me to make other plans before driving all the way there. Instead, I had to scramble to find last‑minute accommodations and ended up having to book another room in Mammoth, where there was power. This cost me extra money, extra stress, and completely derailed our trip. What made the situation even more frustrating is that the motel offered nothing no partial refund, no options, no acknowledgment of the inconvenience or safety concerns. They easily could have rented the room to younger guests or anyone willing to stay without power, but instead the responsibility fell entirely on me. I understand that they can't control a town‑wide power outage. But they can control communication and how they treat their guests. Unfortunately, that's where they fell short. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend June Lake Motel unless they significantly improve guest communication and show more responsibility during situations like this.
