I just came here both days resting between XC sessions, ate some lunch I brought, had some water and just chilled out. Id definitely love to return and have a cocktail here and hang out here with a special someone, flirting the night away, plotting some clandestine tryst (maybe a beautiful hike into the mountains behind - looking at stars, listening for wild animals) and deeply enjoying life, big grins, and making each day count. Id also consider staying here on my next return, the surrounding area is just gorgeous!

We stayed in a cabin and it was fantastic. We had a deck overlooking Twin Lakes and the cliffs above, a kitchen where we cooked one night (who wants to leave heaven?), a fireplace, and was totally clean. The only downside and definitely a star deduction was perhaps it was too clean and smelled strongly of cleaning solution. We left open all the window and turned up the heat at night and turned on all the fans when we left for the day and by the second day, it was tolerable. Continental breakfast was fine with hard boiled eggs and yogurt for protein and cream cheese and peanut butter and all the toastable carbs. We loved our hikes and I loved kayaking on Twin Lakes. It's a perfect one-hour paddle and so peaceful up at the waterfall.

The closest Westin @LAX has the fat comforters right now. The heavenly comforters should be year round. Not some half drawn out thing. Missing the lavender sleep rollers they used to put by the beds. Probably the most mediocre welcome drink pour I have ever had. Elevators scratched and hallways would benefit from touch up paint. Special applause for house keeping, they made our stay better. 3/2025 -- The best stay we have had. Thanks for the mid week room upgrade to a one bedroom. 1/2025 -- It's a solid option. I actually prefer the studio or 1 bedroom units over the 2 bedroom suites. The 2 bedroom penthouse is nice with the big windows. Across all the rooms, the couches are not very comfortable and the in room kitchen feels a little lackluster in appliance quality. Beds are comfortable. I would have designed the bedrooms with a chair or spot to sit. Housekeeping and front desk were warm and accommodating -- they delivered robes, towels, a dog bed, blankets, cutlery, extra pans, etc on a daily basis. Organized and prompt service. Issue with bill and wrong CC on file (which was my fault) resolved - no issue at all. Never rude or inconsiderate. Hallways could benefit from touch up paint. Elevator scratches would benefit from a polish. Active construction -- kind of a bummer if you own one of these units or you are facing the new project. Watch those bonvoy redemptions and rates (which were half what they are now prior to the property remodel in 2022). As most people know, the Marriott system squeezes and changes rapidly. 5/2024 -- Had a pleasant stay during May. Was a bit bummed with the 1pm checkout during a mid week stay as an Elite member prior to their peak season restarting. 10/1/2025- Updated review: stayed one night although I booked for two nights…read more First impressions- very impressive- Arrived early but had to come back at 11 am to check in- Wanted to check are bags in but because it's their slow time and they were doing extra cleaning bell person suggested we keep our luggage- Room was on the 7th floor and a bigger sized studio.. nice clear view from window.. Loved the room itself- nice kitchen- included pots and pans and utensils- I brought my own coffee grinds and filters.. as I was told there was a coffee maker in the room- It was not a coffee maker- the hotel one that already had packets of coffee and filter - The bathroom was decent but maintenance needs to pay attention and caulk the bathtub-- Small fitness room with basic equipment-.. glad they have one Two pools and one hot soaking pool (closed for winter). Hotel restaurant- was nice-I loved the Eating well menu.. Parking indoor-tight squeeze but nice and stalls had charging stations- Glad I picked a good hotel.. Staff was very helpful-

I planned this trip with a group of friends, and they could not stop commenting about how the chalets was the best stay they've been in at Mammoth. We stayed at chalet #9 which was not a ski out, but a very short walk to the main lodge/lifts and definitely a ski in from lower road runner. The chalet itself was cozy with plentiful seating, and even extra foldable chairs for our group. The beds were comfortable, and the bathrooms came equipped with hotel sized toiletries, which was a nice touch. The kitchen is a good size and well equipped with all the necessities, along with a fridge/freezer that was the perfect size to fit all of our weekend groceries. I also appreciated that they even had a huge pot to make group meals like pho, even though I had already brought my own instant pot. Convict Lake and Mammoth Lakes were on my bucket list for so many years. Living in the Bay Area means it's a rough 5-6 hours of driving through windy mountainous roads. Thus, we wanted to pick a place to stay that could provide us the comfort of home we needed. And Convict Lake Resort delivered! From the booking process to checking in and later checking out, everything was a breeze! We received emails reminder from staff detailing easy steps needed to check in. When it looked like we might arrive late, they promptly sent us instructions for self check in. Luckily we arrived on time before the gift shop close. Each cabin has 1 parking spot for your car. However, there are many parking spaces within walking distance to your cabin if you and your party happen to have more than 1 car. As soon as we opened the door into our cabin, our stress and exhaustion of the long drive melted away! We love the high vaulted ceiling, the warm woody interior and how spacious and clean the inside of our cabin was! It was so welcoming and smells so good! You could tell that the staff did a wonderful job cleaning and preparing for your stay! Thank you ! The kitchen area was another highlights of the cabin! It was big with full amenities! We used it so many times during our stay to cook our meals and everything in between! Microwaves, fridges, freezer, chopping board, plate wares, forks and spoons, etc. You name it, they have it! There's a door by the kitchen area which gave you access to the mini wood behind your cabin. We once spotted some deers here during twilight times . And the BATHROOM!!! We LOVE IT!! Super spacious with nice rain-forest shower head! After a long day being active outside like hiking, kayaking and other stuff, we came home to the cabin, hopped into the shower and let all our fatigue washed away! I swear this shower had some acupuncture magic as it soothed my tired body so well! The sliding door to the bathroom was so modern and chic itself. We love the tiny windows looking out to the wood beside our cabin. We joked to each other that "Number 2 with a great view !" Not only the inside was amazing, the outside porch area with the gas grill was another bonus! Never had we ever seen such a clean grill like this! Kudos again to the staff ! We utilized the grill many times during our visits and enjoyed a dinner or breakfast outdoor with our pup :) And first time in our life, we saw such a dog friendly place! Every cabin seemed to have at least one dog. My puppy Butter had such a wonderful socializing with all his furry friends and neighbors. We enjoyed walking around and checking out the resort on the lovely trails surrounding the resort and looked at all the amazing mountains. Convict Lake Resort is just 10 minutes of walking and 5 minutes of driving from Convict Lake. Location! Location! Location!! There's a lovely restaurant onsite that I'll review in details in another review :) Overall, AMAZING place and words cannot describe how satisfied we were! We'll definitely come back and recommend this place with all our family and friends :)

For a "shoulder season" getaway, you really ought to put Juniper Springs Resort on your list! I…read moremean, if you're a skiier, you probably already know about it, but in the off season (before the snows), you can get a room for a low rate, and still have the whole of Mammoth Lakes at your doorstep to explore! Tons of shops, restaurants, breweries, distilleries, etc. await! For amenities, Juniper Springs Resort boasts a pool, an exercise room, a jacuzzi, and beautiful lounging areas. The rooms all have small balconies where you can get some fresh air and admire the scenery. And (we learned mid-trip) the resort is one of four regular stops for the local free shuttle/trolley that comes by every 30 minutes or so and is free to use. On top of that, the resort is adjacent to one of Mammoth Lakes' many ski lifts, so at least some of the runs are available literally right at your doorstep. The room we rented was comfortable and spacious, with a full kitchen, nice comfy living room with gas fireplace, and a separate bedroom, and there were TVs in both rooms. Parking, by the way, is underground, which is assuredly a huge perk during the winter snows. Overall, we were very pleased with our stay, and would definitely consider staying there again. Couple of things they could have done better: 1. Guests should be made aware at check-in of the availability of the shuttle/trolley. My sweetheart was stuck at the hotel for a day until we figured this out for ourselves, as even when asked about Uber/Lyft, the front desk never mentioned the shuttle. 2. The ice machine on the 4th floor was perpetually empty. Not sure if it was just being regularly raided by other guests, or if it was in need of service. 3. A blender we attempted to use (provided as one of the in-room amenities) leaked its contents out through the bottom seal like a seive. When I disassembled it to check the gasket, I found black mold. The front desk was unable to help, but offered to remove it for us. 4. The televisions in the room were not "smart" in the sense that we could not "cast" to them from our phones. We do this a lot, so it's not a user error thing. Just beware you will be limited to whatever viewing options the TV/cable service provides. PRO TIP 1: Hinging off of #3 above, the rooms in the resort are potentially privately owned. Apparently ours was, and was rented out as a sort of Air-BnB. This was the reason the hotel couldn't help with the blender, as it is not an item the resort provides, but was provided by the owner. PRO TIP 2: BEWARE THE ELEVATOR DOORS! They close VERY quickly after opening, and we were struck by them several times. Open the door, stick your hand in, and once everyone has gone in or out, then remove your hand. I'll end with a funny/silly observation. In the elevators was posted a list of the hotel regulations, among which were the parking requirements. The advisement ended with a warning that vehicles parked inappropriately, and not corrected within 24 hours, would have a "boot" affixed to their vehicle. In a nutshell, if your vehicle is parked in such a way that it is causing a problem, their "fix" will be to make that situation permanent. Totally makes sense.

I was bummed... another establishment bit the dust... the Pie in the Sky lady no more.... until today... I kept yelping "food", "burgers", "restaurants" for Rock Creek Lake... nothing... Ineresting Rock Creek Lakes Resort came up... okay, let's look at pictures... hey, Twin Lakes Resort has a good place to eat... even Convict Lake has a nice place to eat... there were some pictures of food... hmmmmm... pulled pork sandwiches? After further investigation, I checked out their website... they got smoked meat? Really... no pics, no menu... even on Yelp... nada... No matter... I will Google maps it and see where this lodge is at... wouldn't you know when I got there it was the Pie in the Sky location... so I dropped everybody off to try their breakfast first... sorry, no picture of the breakfast because I started talking to a long time customer, whose daughter even worked there... she told me the history of Pie in the Sky and told me that their daughter and son in law took over the business... and the Pie in the Sky lady, the daughter's mom still bakes the cobbler... and another daughter in law now bakes the pies... and the son in law built and manages the smoker in the back... she told me to take pictures of the smoker... so I left my bar stool and went out to the back... sure enough Steve, the Pit Master and owner was prepping the brisket and his smoker was getting ready... I asked him what kind of wood they use and he told me they get almond logs locally... very cool... He informed me they make their own BBQ sauce right there... wow... no ribs today, but maybe tomorrow... and today he wanted to roast some corn in the little smoker... after talking I went back in and started talking to the lady customer again... completely forgot to take a picture of my breakfast... I remember the bacon was delicious... and noticed she had French toast... next time... it was too early to buy the BBQ and the pies, so I needed to return at 10:30 when they sell them... at 11:00 my wife and nephew were done fishing and decided to go with me... we came back and I order all the meat available to try... the brisket meal which came with chili and coleslaw... the pulled pork with the same sides and 1/4 pound of Tri Tip... and finding out that the Pie Lady made the cobbler I ordered the peach and berry cobbler along with the Coconut Cream Pie and the Lemon Cream Pie... Finding out that Pie in the Sky never left and was now taken over by family made me very very happy... I took a lot of pics with explanations with scores on all the food... My big surprise was the chili and the lemon cream pie... both got a 10/10... A big thanks to the daughter and son in law taking over the parents business... not only taking it over but making really awesome changes without sacrificing the love and charm of Pie in the Sky... it's cool because Mom and Dad still come around and help out with the business... Oh... here's another interesting thing... I asked Steve if he wanted me to make a Yelp for the restaurant and he said he has one up... It's called, Miller and Son's BBQ Sauce Brewing... when I went to their site there was no reviews no pics... so I was the first to put pics on the site... now I will go there and write another review at that site... so there you go... Pie in the Sky is now Miller and Son's BBQ Sauce Brewing... and I did go home with both the Original and the Velvet (tinge of coffee flavor) both are delicious and I will put that on my slow cooked meat... hahahaha... no offset though just a Traeger... Between the noise from the hallway to the busy and the cars outside I'm not sure which was louder. Room was clear and tidy, but design choices left a lot to be desired. There were no doors on the sink vanity and it just looked like someone took the doors off and forgot to put them back on. The closet in the corner was right next to the bedside table so it cramped and we had small bags.

Never through the whole meal did we have anyone come ask how everything was, top off our drinks or ask if we needed anything. WOW I worked in the service industry for years and for a town that makes most their money off tourism I just did not think this was great customer service let alone expected it from a place I have ate at several times (in the bar side) Not sure if the person who took the payment was even our waitress, didn't get an itemized receipt to even see if we were charged correctly or got our discount for being a member. I would completely understand if it was busy and I am always willing to give some grace but this was awful service especially for a Saturday during the "busy" season. The only reason I am giving it 2 stars and not 1 is because we decided to come back for dinner as it is close to where we were staying and didn't have the energy to drive into town. Rob was the bartender and with all 4 tables occupied we sat at the bar and were greeted almost immediately and very well taken care of. Rob was extremely attentive and great at his job. I will probably only be back to the bar area as I have never had an issue with customer service on that side
