The view from our balcony of Chalet 15.

The only place to stay in Mammoth! Debbie is AMAZING, and the chalets are so cute and cosy. We stayed in chalet 15, which had 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and plenty of space for our party of 6. The location is incredible, the lifts and lodge were only a few hundred feet away. We just strapped in and skiied down to the lifts! The kitchen comes fully equipped with everything you need to cook your meals, including a BBQ. The chalet retains heat very well, and has a fireplace and heaters throughout. The beds were all very comfortable, and so are the couches. Plenty of room to hang out inside if you're not into skiing. We are already planning our return trip! Thank you to Debbie and all the womderful staff at Mammoth Mountain Chalets for making our stay so easy and enjoyable.

We just came back from four days of heaven! We had a great experience at the mountain chalets to say the least. I didn't know what to expect because it was our first time in mammoth. We went 6 families, each two staying in one chalet. The kids had so much fun enjoying nature. The chalets were equipped with everything you can imagine. Our cabin had tons of board games for the kids and adults to enjoy. We went fishing two days in the lake. The nature was so beautiful. The kids enjoyed playing around outside. We will definetly come back in the winter. The chalets were clean and cozy. The people in the office were hospitable, helpful and friendly.

Amazing place to stay. Cabin 22 felt very remote with the recent 20 feet of snowfall. The kitchen was a nice set up to enjoy while family gathered. Beds were comfy, fireplace cozy. The staff were helpful and the snowcat rides were fun. We had 1 car over allowed and we simply parked in the mammoth Mountain parking roadside. Super easy.

Residual food/drink splatter on the wall of chalet 14

My friends and I just spent four nights in Mammoth Mountain Chalet #14. We were able to ski off the run right to our cabin, which was very cool. When we arrived, the chalet was a bit dusty, had some cobwebs, and some of the walls needed some cleaning attention too. Given the price for our stay, our cleanliness expectations were certainly higher. The on-site manager offered to send a cleaner over when we brought these issues to her attention but we declined since we were all already there for the weekend and did not want the intrusion. The snow was incredibly deep and up to the peak of the two-story roof. It was beautiful and like something out of a Christmas story. I am told these chalets are the original Mammoth Mountain A-frame chalets. The weight of the snow (snow load) was enough to skew most of the doorframes and prevent normal door alignment/closure. The manager explained that this structure shift was normal for the 50+ year-old chalets as the snow loads increased. Make sure you are comfortable with and understand the potential for any structure "shift" based upon the current snow load. If you are concerned, you might contact a local structural engineer to inquire about typical, normal, and or safe structure shifting due to the weight of present snow conditions. A local engineer should be readily familiar with this condition and his or her insight may address any concerns ahead of time. We were later contacted by the corporate manager who was very apologetic and offered to refund a portion of our rental.

Mammoth Mountain chalets what a treat! It was such a fun time at Mammoth Mountain we were at the base of the mountain and within walking distance easy walking distance to the chairlift with unbelievable service from Karen and her whole team in the office we had no worries. We needed an extra crockpotwe would love to know if we could check in possibly 30 minutes early if available we needed extra covers wanted to understand the rules of weather patterns services is as top drawer as it gets! In addition to our cabin was so accommodating for 12 people we were all comfortable it was completely stocked!!!. All of the cookware was top drawer all clad brand. We had wine glasses, coffee cups coffee dispenser even a blow dryer in the master suite. Linens were provided and sleeping bags unnecessary to bring and there was enough towels for everybody staying in the cabin. furniture was well cared for too! wood was already in the cabin for the entire stay. there was sledding slides for the kids so we wanted nothing and if necessary we could have even had our groceries delivered and our skis delivered through their partners ! what it amazing trip I highly recommend this place it is a jewel of the area my best regards to everybody we will make it our annual tradition! Huge patio deck and huge gathering table were a JOY!!!

Managing a group of kids with very different skill levels is no small task, but Drew handled it with patience, enthusiasm, and impressive skill. He quickly assessed where each child was at and tailored his guidance so everyone felt challenged while still having fun and building confidence on the mountain. Over the two days, Drew took the kids all over the mountain, helping them explore new terrain while always keeping safety front and center. His clear instructions and practical tips made a noticeable difference in their skiing, and it was great to see their progress even within a short time. Drew has a great way of explaining technique in a way kids understand, which helped them improve without feeling overwhelmed. One of the highlights for the kids was spending time in the ski park, where Drew showed them some fun tricks and helped them try new things safely. He struck the perfect balance between encouraging them to push their limits and making sure they stayed in control and confident. By the end of the lessons, all four kids were excited about how much they had learned and couldn't stop talking about their favorite runs. We're incredibly grateful for the experience and would highly recommend Drew Harris to other families looking for a fantastic ski instructor. His ability to manage multiple levels, keep kids engaged, and make learning fun made these two days on the mountain truly memorable.

Knowing how the bus system works is a must as you'll probably inevitably have to take them. This is the only place I've ever seen Disneyland long lines to take the bus at the end of the day at 4pm, while buses are stuck, stopped in a gridlock traffic jam. The line for a chairlift on a Monday wasn't even that long, yet somehow took almost 1.5 hours due to a conglomeration of factors. People either don't know or pretend they don't know how the chairlift lines merge and they have to wait their turn and merge 1,2,1,2, so whole families trying to cut in front of each other ended up yelling at each other, causing a scene. Everyone's frustrated and impatient with the chairlift lines and how slow they move. Yet then you'll randomly find another chairlift on the mountain with no line, and can stick to it all day and it will never grow a line as people's brains don't work too well at these high altitudes and they'll just keep flocking to the same Disneyland long line ones like sheep. The people here are really nice, like surprisingly nice and helpful. People will stop and make sure you're okay if you fall. One guy/simp even spent an hour helping my girlfriend slowly down the mountain after we got on a run too steep for her and got separated. There's a few outliers as always though, with the 3 degenerates in the car parked next to us bragging/joking about all the people they ran down that day, as it was early season and crowded. I saw one teenage snowboarder run down some little kid, and then take off as the kid's dad was screaming at him. As for the employees here, they're extremely nice and helpful. I definitely plan on coming back later this season after the crowds subside.

The location is excellent -- less than a 5-minute walk to the gondola. They also offer ski valet right in the lobby, which makes the walk even shorter. Huge plus: boot dryers. Check-in was super easy, and we upgraded our room to one of their "condos." Just to set expectations: this isn't a full condo. It's essentially a hotel room with a small living area and a Murphy bed. Still comfortable and totally fine for what we needed. The best part of this hotel is that it's dog-friendly -- and truly dog-friendly. Any size dog, big or small, and there were dogs everywhere (including ours). There's a forested area behind the hotel that's perfect for letting your pup play in the snow. One downside: some guests don't pick up after their dogs, so there was dog poop around even though the hotel provides bag dispensers. Maybe adding more (or enforcing cleanup) would help. The price is good, the hotel is clean, but it is old -- very old -- and definitely showing its age. The hallway floors are uneven, the elevator makes some questionable noises, and nothing about it feels modern. That said, after skiing all day, the four hot tubs and heated pool are amazing and very much appreciated. I stay here for convenience, not luxury. The beds are comfortable, towels are clean, and that's honestly all we need. Plus, it's close to The Yodler, our favorite restaurant. We've stayed here many times before and will stay many times again.

The rooms are noisy with paper-thin walls--you can hear guests walking, talking, and moving around all night long, making it nearly impossible to sleep. It honestly felt like people were walking inside my room. The room itself is poorly maintained and outdated, with dirty, stained carpets and a bathroom that was not clean. Nothing felt refreshed or well cared for, which is unacceptable at this price point. Breakfast was equally terrible. The food was cold, the omelet was tough and rubbery, and overall the quality was far below expectations--borderline inedible. Between the noise, lack of cleanliness, outdated rooms, and overpriced rates, this place is absolutely not worth the money. I would not stay here again and do not recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable or restful stay.

Tons of shops, restaurants, breweries, distilleries, etc. await! For amenities, Juniper Springs Resort boasts a pool, an exercise room, a jacuzzi, and beautiful lounging areas. The rooms all have small balconies where you can get some fresh air and admire the scenery. And (we learned mid-trip) the resort is one of four regular stops for the local free shuttle/trolley that comes by every 30 minutes or so and is free to use. On top of that, the resort is adjacent to one of Mammoth Lakes' many ski lifts, so at least some of the runs are available literally right at your doorstep. The room we rented was comfortable and spacious, with a full kitchen, nice comfy living room with gas fireplace, and a separate bedroom, and there were TVs in both rooms. Parking, by the way, is underground, which is assuredly a huge perk during the winter snows. Overall, we were very pleased with our stay, and would definitely consider staying there again. Couple of things they could have done better: 1. Guests should be made aware at check-in of the availability of the shuttle/trolley. My sweetheart was stuck at the hotel for a day until we figured this out for ourselves, as even when asked about Uber/Lyft, the front desk never mentioned the shuttle. 2. The ice machine on the 4th floor was perpetually empty. Not sure if it was just being regularly raided by other guests, or if it was in need of service. 3. A blender we attempted to use (provided as one of the in-room amenities) leaked its contents out through the bottom seal like a seive. When I disassembled it to check the gasket, I found black mold. The front desk was unable to help, but offered to remove it for us. 4. The televisions in the room were not "smart" in the sense that we could not "cast" to them from our phones. We do this a lot, so it's not a user error thing. Just beware you will be limited to whatever viewing options the TV/cable service provides. PRO TIP 1: Hinging off of #3 above, the rooms in the resort are potentially privately owned. Apparently ours was, and was rented out as a sort of Air-BnB. This was the reason the hotel couldn't help with the blender, as it is not an item the resort provides, but was provided by the owner. PRO TIP 2: BEWARE THE ELEVATOR DOORS! They close VERY quickly after opening, and we were struck by them several times. Open the door, stick your hand in, and once everyone has gone in or out, then remove your hand. I'll end with a funny/silly observation. In the elevators was posted a list of the hotel regulations, among which were the parking requirements. The advisement ended with a warning that vehicles parked inappropriately, and not corrected within 24 hours, would have a "boot" affixed to their vehicle. In a nutshell, if your vehicle is parked in such a way that it is causing a problem, their "fix" will be to make that situation permanent. Totally makes sense.
