We loved the awesome view of the lake, and the patio is a perfect place to sit and relax with 2 chairs & a firepit. We were a late check-in and someone called us before we arrived, to give us information on getting into the cabin, parking and general instructions. Friday night was pretty quiet. Saturday night we could hear some good music playing from the restaurant patio. It was loud enough to hear from inside our room, but by no means bothersome. We enjoyed the vibe. By about 9:30ish, we noticed the music had stopped and it was back to silence. Our trip was cut short for personal reasons, but we'll definitely stay here any chance we get.

The beds are very comfortable and the cabins come equipped with some amenities, plenty of towels and blankets and very high quality linens which is unexpected in a cozy cabin. Each cabin has a theme, we were in the Bear Cabin which is cabin 19, and our friends were in the Eagle cabin. All the cabins have lovely lake views and front porches - perfect for watching the time pass while enjoying the incredible view. Ours is not right on the lake but up the hill so you can still see the view from your windows and front porch. Very quiet, serene and peaceful. There is a general store and restaurant on-sight - making it a very convenient place to stay in a pretty quiet area. We ate at the restaurant and thought it was quite good (wrote a separate review of that). I am only giving the property four stars because there were a couple areas that I think could be improved but it was nothing we felt we had to tell the staff. Again, we were very happy with the place. Overall, the cleanliness of the cabin could be improved. Seems like the porch hadn't been hosed down in ages and was full of dust and cobwebs. The floor also didn't seem like it had been cleaned very well. I'll give some leeway here as the area was quite dusty after a dry summer. There was a giant cobweb insight the bathroom window which was a little unsettling. Also to note, the beach area closest to the resort seems to be very popular for locals on Saturdays so it got crowded. Obviously they can't control that, but wanted to mention here for your plans if you stay. You will need to get space early. Overall, would recommend this cute resort with very cozy cabins for a mountain getaway. We didn't get a chance to explore the area - it was very hot so we spent our time at the lake. We'd like to come back in the fall and do more exploring.

Overall, they do a great job with the cleanliness! It's hit or miss with "mom and pop" type places, but the floors, bathroom, and bedding were all fresh! A few suggestions as far as the kitchen and appliances go... If it wasn't available for use, I wouldn't have known any better, but since it was there, it's like come on do a better job. Clean the ashes out of the weber. The open box of pancake mix, ew. The random assortment of coffee packs that appear to have been left by other cabin users, with no expiration date, not the best. Also, if you're going to have a salt shaker... make sure it's full. Like I said, if these items weren't available I wouldn't have assumed they should be. But since you guys put them in there, do a better job at keeping it stocked and maybe consider better quality stuff. It doesn't cost much to put foil, tongs, coffee, and a legitimate salt and pepper grinder in the kitchen. If you really wanna step it up, a 20.00 pack of silverware from target instead of the hodgepodge of forks in the drawer would have been killer. That's why I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5. Overall, if that small stuff is the biggest "issue" than this place is still pretty awesome!! Waking up to a few feet of snow in a cute little cabin, popping a bottle for a mimosa, and enjoying the mountain air.. Not bad! Would definitely recommended staying here, and I would for sure rebook. I'd just bring my own kitchen stuff like for camping next time.

The new owners are reshaping and rebuilding these traditional cabins located in downtown Shaver lake. I stayed in one of the nicest well kept cabins that offered a single Queen bed, roomie bathroom with a wonderfully high shower head( I'm 6'2") and a nice kitchenette. Flat screen TV with local cable. One of the nicest and welcomed amenity was the gas fireplace that was crackling when we entered the room. These cabins are located close to all of the local restaurants and bars with easy walking access to the whole village. I will be making future plans to staying with the knotty pines in the future. I was also told to look forward to a new reservation website and friendlier staff. Thanks again Knotty Pines Cabins of Shaver Lake.

She did a good job. My 1/2 lb bison burger patty was cooked to delicious perfection. Having a non-dehydrated meal after an 8- day BP trip was a treat. Having this bison burger meal with the option of 2 side dishes was heavenly. No, potato fries wasn't one of the choices. I did choose the asparagus and zucchini cooked in marinara sauce and the restuffed baked half potato. This was an exceptional meal that was almost too big for me to finish, but I managed! The bison meat was flavorful and had not the slightest greasy quality about it. Getting meals of this quality when far off the beaten track is a delightful expectation when at Mono Hot Springs. You would be hard-pressed to find a meal this good in the towns further down the mountain.

Every time I'm up in Shaver Lake, I opt to bring my crew here and they love it. Quiet, safe, and we always battle over who gets the upstairs Jacuzzi tub room. Yes, there are other places in Shaver that look equal to this one, or maybe even more updated and very different, but if you're looking for coziness and "hygge"... This is your place.

Got used to the dull knives and the many light switches around the house. I went to bed after a long relaxing bath, and woke up to the trees as my first view. Get dressed, put on my boots, got firewood, and put on a crappy pot of coffee so that I'm prepared to do nothing for the day. Great Service and Perfect Base Camp for Yosemite…read more For our first memorable trip to Yosemite, staying at Rosenberg's Creekside Cabin via The Redwoods in Wawona was a fantastic choice. The location is ideal--tucked into a quiet little community about 4 miles inside the park gates. Driving in, you pass a local school and a handy little market, and the main registration office even has EV charging available if you need a plug. The customer service here is what really earned the 5 stars. I booked through Chase Ultimate Rewards, which apparently uses a confusing third-party system. When I called ahead to ask about adding our small dog to the reservation, the front desk told me they saw the booking, but it was under a completely different name. I semi-panicked thinking we were double-booked. I left my info with Sharon at the desk and called Chase, who assured me everything was fine but couldn't explain the naming mismatch. When I called Sharon back, she was incredibly reassuring. She explained that the name on our booking had actually been used three times before for third-party reservations. Once we got that sorted out and I remembered why I called in the first place, Sharon was incredibly sweet and told me, "Bring your pet and do not worry about it." That kind of flexibility and peace of mind is priceless when you're traveling. As for the cabin itself, everything was smooth and uneventful. It's essentially a spacious 3-bedroom home setup with all the modern comforts you'd expect from a high-end Airbnb--strong Wi-Fi, ice-cold A/C, a dishwasher, and a full washer and dryer. The kitchen was completely stocked with all the basic pots, pans, and utensils you need to cook your own meals after a long day of hiking. Location-wise, it's about a 40-minute drive down into the lower valley. The drive itself is spectacular--once you pop through Tunnel View, the landscape completely opens up. The road loops through the valley floor as a one-way, giving you front-row views of Bridalveil Fall, the Yosemite Falls trail, and El Capitan Meadow. Having a fully equipped, dog-friendly home base inside the park boundaries made our first Yosemite trip incredibly comfortable. Huge thanks to Sharon and the team for turning a potential reservation headache into a great stay!

Who knew there was a little town inside Yosemite National Park where you can find cabins to rent?…read more Turns out, The Redwoods in Yosemite is a property management company that handles rentals of approximately 120 different cabins throughout the small town of Wawona in southern Yosemite. Over the Labor Day holiday we had a neat experience with Cabin 53. It had all of the basics that you could need and was cute and clean, and had decking all around. It was surrounded by a few other cabins and some nice pine trees. Staff from the Redwoods were friendly, accommodating, and responsive. There were many different sizes and types of cabins available, so both small and large groups can be accommodated. Unfortunately our cabin had a couple minor issues which couldn't be resolved, though they did try. The Redwoods community is located a short distance off the 41 in South Yosemite. It was still about 45 minutes to the main valley area, but it also had lots of neat things nearby as well. Still better than many options outside the park. Value was decent and we didn't feel like we were overcharged. This is a great option if you are looking for something a bit different to add that rustic cabin stay to your Yosemite trip.
