Super cute and affordable cabin rental! It looks like it's been put under new ownership after some of these older reviews were written, so if it were my business I'd contact yelp and have that changed for a fresh start! Overall, they do a great job with the cleanliness! It's hit or miss with "mom and pop" type places, but the floors, bathroom, and bedding were all fresh! A few suggestions as far as the kitchen and appliances go... If it wasn't available for use, I wouldn't have known any better, but since it was there, it's like come on do a better job. Clean the ashes out of the weber. The open box of pancake mix, ew. The random assortment of coffee packs that appear to have been left by other cabin users, with no expiration date, not the best. Also, if you're going to have a salt shaker... make sure it's full. Like I said, if these items weren't available I wouldn't have assumed they should be. But since you guys put them in there, do a better job at keeping it stocked and maybe consider better quality stuff. It doesn't cost much to put foil, tongs, coffee, and a legitimate salt and pepper grinder in the kitchen. If you really wanna step it up, a 20.00 pack of silverware from target instead of the hodgepodge of forks in the drawer would have been killer. That's why I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5. Overall, if that small stuff is the biggest "issue" than this place is still pretty awesome!! Waking up to a few feet of snow in a cute little cabin, popping a bottle for a mimosa, and enjoying the mountain air.. Not bad! Would definitely recommended staying here, and I would for sure rebook. I'd just bring my own kitchen stuff like for camping next time. read more

Stayed with the knotty pines cabins on 7-5-7-6-2019. First off let me say this. THERE ARE NEW OWNERS!!! The new owners are reshaping and rebuilding these traditional cabins located in downtown Shaver lake. I stayed in one of the nicest well kept cabins that offered a single Queen bed, roomie bathroom with a wonderfully high shower head( I'm 6'2") and a nice kitchenette. Flat screen TV with local cable. One of the nicest and welcomed amenity was the gas fireplace that was crackling when we entered the room. These cabins are located close to all of the local restaurants and bars with easy walking access to the whole village. I will be making future plans to staying with the knotty pines in the future. I was also told to look forward to a new reservation website and friendlier staff. Thanks again Knotty Pines Cabins of Shaver Lake. read more

We've been staying at Knotty Pines for our annual family trip for over six years now. The new owners have done some great upgrades. It is a great little area, the fire pit is awesome and the owners are always so helpful and kind. I definitely recommend this place for a family get away. read more

When I made the reservation online from Japan, I got an email stating that someone will get back to me to confirm the reservation within 24 hours. After hearing nothing for two weeks, I finally picked up the phone and called, and was told that if I got that email that my reservation was made, but the automatic email response had not been changed to indicate that. It causes worry and caution for the guests and should've been remedied immediately; no apologies. When we arrived at 5:00pm, I couldn't find anyone in the office. There was a note on the front door saying to call a phone number if no one was around, but I have no cell phone coverage up there. That was the first disappointment in poor customer service. You always have people around to greet your guests. On my second attempt to look for someone in the office, a very apologetic and frazzled guy emerged. The cabins were not ready and he was about to go clean them. He asked if we wanted regular or flannel sheets, which was nice, but I just wanted to check into my room. He said he would have the room ready within half an hour so we took off to my sister's place. When we came back, the room looked clean on the surface but it was obvious that the room not had a thorough cleaning for a long time based on the amount of dust under the furniture. He left the gas fireplace on so the room was warm. If it wasn't for that, I would've only given a one-star review. Wi-Fi is pretty much nonexistent. If you have T-Mobile for your carrier, your cell phone won't work either, which is not their fault. When we got up in the morning, the bathroom was so cold we opted not to even shower before checking out. Back out to the office to check out, there was no one to be found. The door was locked. The only option was to leave the keys in the mailbox. What a horrible experience. Zero customer service. Zero staff on site. A room that needs a thorough cleaning. Very spotty Wi-Fi, at best. The gas fireplace that is difficult to regulate the temperature, and it is the only source of heat in the cabin. This is our second stay here and it will be our last, unless we see reviews stating that things have significantly improved. They could stand to take a few lessons on how to properly run a hotel from some other successful properties. I would've even asked for my money back but there was no one on site to even pose the question to. read more

The absolute most charming little cabin in an extremely convenient location right in the middle of town. 'The Cedars' was an adorably decorated, quaint, charming cabin in the woods equipped with everything you'd possibly need. Very clean, comfortable bed, full kitchen, adorable patio with BBQ nestled in the middle of beautiful trees. Tina was extremely nice and helpful. My absolute favorite and first choice for a nice R&R getaway. read more

At first when I read the reviews I was skeptical. However We had the most amazing experience staying here(stayed in the Pinecone) Everything was just perfect for us. All new faucets, sinks, shower/tub, etc. It's very clean too. Brought my wife up here for her birthday and she loved it. Has a true cabin feel to it. The gas stove fireplace puts off a great amount of cozy heat. They even include a space heater under the sink, however you will definitely not need it. I thought the bed was pretty comfortable too. It's walking distance to the pubs, shops, and restaurants. Perfect location. The best part is the price, it cost us only $150 for the night. Great value. So glad I didn't listen to the negative reviews. We'll be staying here again. read more

Being that these cabins are right in the middle of the village in beautiful Shaver Lake, I wanted to give it a try & it was well worth it.The views from this cabin was just by far awesome. The Staff was excellent very friendly and even though it was cooled and snowing they made me & my girlfriend have a very warmed welcome. These cabins are fully stocked from full kitchen supplies to toiletries and they even had the bathroom heater which was a nice surprise due to the fact that we have been driving for some time to get here & when 'buisness" calls it wasn't cooled in the restroom, Thank you for that by the way. I don't want to sound like I was awe struck because the cabin did have minor issues but for it being winter when we came you can assume their will be. It's was Very cooled here during this years winter storm this cabin did do it's job in keeping us warm. In the near future I would difinitely be staying here again as I take 4 vacations a year I am going to be including one of them at the Knotty Pine Cabins. read more

I enjoy staying here but the girl who does the phones is incredibly rude. No one answered so my husband called back a little later after me. We both got a call back from a different number. I answered, and a woman said, did someone call? I had a missed call from this number? I said Oh sorry I didn't call this number. She was so rude and says, ugh ok well I had a missed call. I said I'm sorry I didn't call you, if I did it was on accident. She then says, ahh (insert deep breath) ok! and hangs up. My husband was outside and she called him a couple mins after. She did the same thing to him and was completely rude. My husband checked his phone log while on the phone with her and let her know he didn't call that number. Her response was, well the knotty pines calls are forwarded to me. Ok! Now it is all made sense! I am amazed at how rude she was! I love the guy who works at the front desk. He is so sweet, helpful, and nice. But if you call knotty pines, and don't leave a message, you might get a call back from a random cell phone number. If so, it's probably her. read more
