Of very special and important note: I l lost a very sentimental money clip in the resort room, and…read morewhen I emailed the staff, I emphasized that if the money was gone, that would be OK... But the sentimentality of the money clip from my mother was the ultimate importance. Priscilla emailed back and said they had found the money clip and all the cash was intact. They mailed it down to me priority mail with tracking, and I can't say how appreciative I was with receiving it with over $600 in it, to pay for a trailer on the way home. I was genuinely stupefied about the honesty of the employees. I showed my gratitude to them!!! Resort review: I drove up there to drop off another hiker that was supposed to start the journey but contracted COVID just before star that was joining my wife for the rest of the John Muir trail, and spend the night with my wife in a room with a bed, toilet., and shower, before she got back on the trail. The place is what I like; a civilized retreat that is far from civilization and has all the basic amenities that one would need to enjoy some peaceful rest, relaxation, day hikes, sitting around the fire, and fishing. The Room are very basic, and trust me, it's a gem to the hikers, and a basic room to those not trough-hiking. I say; who cares, its warm, has indoor plumbing with shower, heating, electric lights and outlets to charge your electronic junk, a little convenience kitchen, chairs, tables and night-stands. This is the best of a soul-enriching retreat that you don't have to hike miles to get to, and drive to {make sure you have some clearance underneath the vehicle)- soccer mom van did it fine, sports car would not be choice. I would bring my truck, but would also consider my Ford Mach-E EV, asking prior about charging it back up at the resort. The atmosphere was electrified with all the John Muir trail hikers that were coming in to pick up their re-supply of backpacking food and other supplies that they had mailed up to Vermillion Valley Resort (VVR) previously - what a great service! The hikers were so happy to be able to resupply on a little bit of civilization, that was still way away from "the rat race", and have a brief respite from the tent, camp stove, filtering water, and making sure of good foot and body hygiene. For those that did not reserve a room, there was still laundry machines available, showers, backpacking re-supplies, and of course very tasty n filling café food. The kitchen serves great home-cooked comfort food that really appeals to the hiking crowd, and to myself as I just love it. Many of the hikers knew each other from the trail and I felt excitement that comes from the hikers who saw and made friends together on-trail: they had lots of catching up to do, and a bit more time to do so-precious. The free camping area for tents was super-cool! As for my experience, I relished that I could bring a wonderful feast of King Crab, steak, Caesar salad, fresh asparagus (from the Fresno Costco on my way up) my wife and her hiking friends without a big detour for them. It was so perfect, and the staff was perfect at accommodating needs, like the magician Priscilla. She always had great answers, always available, and just seemed like "an old soul" in her demeanor, attitude and ability to poly-task. Nuf Sed, Greg

The staff was very friendly and willing to talk about restaurants and the best way to get to Yosemite and other questions that we had. The whole property was well kept and felt very safe easy driving directions to get to our hotel room. We were blessed with a hotel first floor had a great patio out, looking into a wooded area. Parking was very easy we park just a few spots away from our hotel room. They EV charging stations for vehicles and other things plenty of handicap parking all throughout the facility and also a restaurant right in the middle of this place so you don't have to go very far to get good food Speaking of good food, their breakfast buffet by far put it over the top because a lot of times you go to hotels and you get maybe a continental breakfast just a few items and you're not really interested in those items but this breakfast buffet was overwhelming because it was so amazing and on this trip we finally got to eat a good meal at a hotel They had pancake sausage, eggs, different kinds of bacon, like four or five different juices, six or seven different coffees, bagels plenty of people behind the counter to serve you fresh fruit, all kind of stuff and it was well laid out. A very relaxing environment that you can walk in get your breakfast sit down and really enjoy your time there and go back for seconds and know it was gonna be hot and fresh every time so I truly recommend this place because of how relaxing it was how easy it was to get in and out of and the food quality for breakfast was amazing. The only thing that was a little bit still out of date, but still look good was the rooms they are older style rooms not updated like a lot of other places are, but it was an amazing stay great facilities and we will stay here every time we go to Yosemite

It was about an hour into the park each day but totally worth it. The room was clean, comfortable and convenient as my room was by one of the electric car chargers (by the gym). Totally free to use btw! The room did have a dog like smell but what do you expect at a dog friendly hotel by so many hiking spots. The staff when I checked in and out were super friendly too!

They really made everything sink together. I love soft colors and simple decor the owners have put together. The leather belt decor for the TV and hanger in the room makes it a nice touch. Such elegantly esthetic hotel. The bed is super comfortable. I got 2 queen sized beds. The room has mini frig. No microwave. The shampoo, body wash, and conditioner feels super nice and it smells good too. It's not a cheap brand. Room is very clean! Gym room is big! It has yoga mats, resistant bands, bosom ball, and more. More than what other hotel gyms usually have. The gym is clean. No swimming pool but they do have a backyard that has backyard games like a huge Connect 4 and bean bag toss games. There is even a fire pit. Lots of seats to lounge. There is always coffee, hot chocolate, and tea. Free parking. I read that they charge, but they didn't charge us. I would definitely stay there again!

Upon…read morearrival, we were informed, without prior notice, that our reservation had been changed to a double queen room. When I asked why, I was told that due to an upcoming snowstorm, PG&E staff required accommodations and were given the King rooms instead. When I asked why their needs were prioritized over a reservation that had been planned and paid for well in advance, no explanation was provided. I am 6'3" and do not sleep well in a queen bed, which is precisely why I booked a King room early and intentionally. I had selected and paid for this room type through Expedia and could show the receipt confirming it. Despite this, the staff stated that bookings made through Expedia, even when a specific room type is selected and paid for, do not guarantee that the hotel will honor that reservation. No alternatives or solutions were offered, and there was no willingness to work with us to make the situation right. As a result, I am now lying awake in a cramped bed, disappointed and wishing we had chosen a different destination altogether. It is an unfortunate and frustrating way to begin what was meant to be a special Valentine's Day getaway.

Let me begin by stating that the folks here are super nice. They are not only accommodating but…read moretheir communication was fantastic too. I really appreciated this. Thanks guys! As a city-dweller, flat-lander, or however else one might refer to us "city folks"- I'll preface this review with- I am a reasonably intelligent person with reasonable expectations. I did my homework, and I knew what I was signing up for when booking our cabin. All cabins are different here so be aware of what floorpan you're booking and what the cabin offers. We booked a cabin for 4 people. It appeared that for our stay, you will receive 1 towel "set" per person based on cabin occupancy. With this, if your stay is more than a couple days, you may consider bringing additional towels. This isn't the Hyatt, folks. We brought our own toiletries, as well as an ice chest with our meals and snacks. Our cabin had a mini fridge, small oven, range, dishes, percolator, cooking utensils, tongs, and mixing bowl. We still prepared as though we were dry camping though so we brought a tote full of items/equipment we figured we may need including 1G of water per person per day. Cabins, in my opinion, are a tad run down- fishing/camping cabins. Again, not the Hyatt. They are cute, but ours was NOT clean. The mixing bowl was filthy, the bed skirt on one of the beds was soiled, the dining chairs were sticky, etc. I am glad that I brought a canister of cleaning wipes because I had to scour the floors myself, scrub behind the toilet, and wipe down the whole cabin. Again- absolutely FILTHY! I get that this is a camping cabin- I am a reasonable person, but to the person(s) cleaning the cabins- show a little effort! The previous guests' shower towel was also left behind on our towel bar. Yuck! Kitchenette also smelled fishy. For $295+ per night, I thought this was a bit much considering the Palazzo (a 5-star hotel in Vegas) is about the same rate depending on time of year. Apples and oranges comparison, yes- but Parcher's rates are a bit much for what you get. Just my opinion. And you are given departure instructions for stripping your own bed, washing dishes, etc. Insects/mosquitos were not an issue for us, however, one of the screens was in disrepair and so we had to deal with a lot of flies. Very quaint stream and pack-trail behind our cabin. Loved it! Ambiance here is awesome- lush, green, and mostly quiet. Guests seemed very respectful and observant of quiet hours which are 10PM to 7AM. One night we did hear faint music- which was we thought was a bit outlandish. I mean, it's ok to enjoy music but keep the volume to your own ears. Well-behaved dogs are welcome here and guests appeared very respectful with keeping barking at a minimum, keeping dogs on leash (yes, it's CA state law, folks), and picking up after them. Nice fire pit that we used each evening AND cooked on- we brought our own wood and charcoal briquets but remember to "buy it where you burn it" so that you don't transport invasive pests from another area. Bring a grill basket too if you're going to cook over the fire. I was also pleased that most guests seemed to be very respectful and observant of "light pollution." In other words, when you retire for the evening, turn off your outside/porch lights! It was nice that most guests were sensitive to this "unspoken rule." My only suggestion to the resort would be is to GET WI-FI! Offering Starlink to your guests would be a huge plus. I get that most of us are enjoying an off-grid experience but it should be our discretion (as adults and paying guests) whether or not we choose to be off-grid. Some of us have health issues, allergies, business, or other things requiring attention back home. Wifi and cell service is not a luxury anymore, rather a necessity for safety. With the resort currently being offered for sale, I have made the inference that perhaps staff is "backing off" a bit on the attention to detail that was perhaps applied in years past. Would we come back? Offer Starlink, clean the cabins well, and re-visit your rates and perhaps we will! You've got a wonderful resort- give it the love it deserves!

From the moment we rolled in, we relaxed our breath into the cradling caring arms of Cyndi's Snowline Lodge. Natural darkness descending around us- Robert was quick to invite us into the warmly lit communal lodge area, which was brimming with personality. He showed us a fun silverware balancing bar trick, while Lucky the dog, looked on with heavy lidded amusement. We were the only ones staying at the lodge that night. Our room was darling and clean and smelled fresh. The wi-fi was working well. We slept unbelievably well. Showering was a dream in the morning with strong hot water pressure. Cindi brought us up fresh squeezed orange juice and invited us down for a hot lovingly made breakfast spread - which included hot waffles, scrambled eggs, bacon, and light potatoes. We also indulged in wondrous coffee and an impressive selection of tea. Cindy even had Pink Himalayan Salt on hand for us to adorn our food - which we indulged in both there and on our backpacking adventure. Cyndi and the rest of the loving folk who help run this charming lodge take immense care and pride in making sure that all those who stay here feel welcomed and taken care of. They go out of their way to make everyone's stay both memorable and comfortable. We can't wait to come back to Cyndi's Snowline Lodge. Trust.
