    Snowline Lodge, in the winter.

The owner Al is a nice guy and it's much, much, much cheaper than staying within the park - if you don't have any private property inside park, or don't feel like camping. For the price, you will get a great room (ask for all available to discuss, before making a decision) and you're as close to the park without going inside that it gets, for somewhere to stay. There has been a "For Sale, or Lease" banner out front for at least two years now, but don't let this detour you: it is a nice place and I bet would be a great place to purchase for yourself (as the banner offers), but asking price is probably (I am just guessing) too high for the current market. I would love to buy this place and keep it private for myself, but that's not in my budget at this time ...

This place is the bomb! When arriving for our one night stay we have to admit that the outside looked a bit rustic, but after taking a closer look we realized it was filled with nothing but character and charm. The rooms are comfy and cozy! We had waffles in the morning and chatted with the nice staff and owners. This places is a diamond in the rough. We would recommend it to anyone who enjoys staying in unique places and meeting nice locals. We would definitely stay here again! Thanks for everything!

After spending half a day in Sequoia National Park, I had two choices: go out the south entrance and get a place in Three Rivers, or try my hand at night driving on a winding mountain road and go out the north/King's Canyon entrance and find a room there. Well, the NPS was doing some crazy road work between where I was and the south entrance, so I decided to go north. The winding road was actually way better than the winding road to the south, anyway, and the lady at the north entrance told me that 7 miles down the road, I'd come to the Snow Line Lodge. She lied. It was 8 miles. The room they had available wasn't quite ready, so Robert prepared me dinner and I chatted for a couple hours with some of the other guests. The house dog, Lucky, is super friendly and the house cat tried to come into my room! I stayed in the cabin at the back of the property, which was pretty fun because I was by myself and had 4 beds to choose from! Everything was clean and the room was quirky (I've posted a photo) and warm. The only issue is that the wireless doesn't reach the cabin, so I had to walk down to the lodge, but it was a nice excuse to hang out and chat with the various staff, who are all the friendliest people ever. I had such a great time the first night and morning (waffles for breakfast!) that I extended my stay for a second (and my last) night. If you're looking for a super friendly place with lots of character, cute animals, and a communal atmosphere, this is the perfect place. Totally my favorite kind of place to stay on a road trip! Snow Line Lodge is the best :) I hope I get to come back to Sequoia/King's Canyon again, not in small part so I have an excuse to stay at Snow Line Lodge!

    Thank your great

Loved it!!! Me & my husband were so overjoyed to see this place hands down it is by far the best little place we have been to..we went to motel 6 up in big bear & it was nothing compared to this place that doesn't have that brand name omg we fell in love with everyone Robert & especially lucky these two are the best receptionist ever!!!! It has the homey feeling!!! Handmade quits, color design towels (not like plain hotel ones) teddy bears everything & it makes you feel like your in an old western sometimes when it comes to the old piano in the check in room with the oldie women on top of it love love love it!!!

Cozy, clean & super friendly inn. Cindy, Jeff & Robert run a quaint lodge about 8 miles out of the park gate. Free breakfast waffles & coffee & a bevy of international guests. Fun , less expensive than inside the park lodging & we're coming back here next time. It's not the Ritz, but it's a throwback to simpler times. The hospitality can't be beat.

On a recent trip to Sequoia my friend Denise and i stayed here. When I booked the place I did so…read moreafter consulting a few websites but not really diving into them, so I did not know what this place was about. I just knew it was rustic--- on theme for a woods-forward trip- and close to Sequoia. And I assumed it was, at its core, an inn in a town. When Denise and I arrived we discovered that what awaited us was different than what we expected- not in an extreme way, but, in a way that separated where we slept from where we had to shower. These two points were far enough that we would need to walk from our room to another structure. Not a far walk, but still a walk that felt inconvenient because we are city folk, not outhouse people, even if they are modernized. I do not know if I made it clear, Denise and I discovered that what I booked was a cabin with no bathroom and the bathroom was like a 10 to 15 feet walk to a modern outhouse that felt impossible to get to, especially in the black and cold of the night. Denise and I were introduced to our shed turn cabin at around 10::00 p.m. We quickly accepted that we did not have a typical inn room, I had opted for the green cabin. It was a form of glamping. The actual room was snug. She took the bed up that up a ladder, like the one one walks up when they have bunk beds. And I stayed on the bottom bed. The place had a table, hooks, the beds a tv mounted on a corner and not much else. It was a place to sleep, and watch tv while laying down on the bed, it was not much more. So when I call it a cabin, do not imagine a cabin in the woods with a fire, a bear rug, a couch with quilted cushions and a mounted elk on the wall. It literally was what I described before--- mostly a couple of beds with a shed built around it. I showered in the outhouse the next morning. It had two stalls with a toilet and three to four showers, with one out of order. I had stepped into the bathroom of mountain folk and as a vacation experience it slapped, if it were my regular life, I would miss the privacy and comfort of a city bathroom with its sturdy plumbing and opportunity for me to blast my beats as I shower. When I went inside my shower, I saw that the shower was not a shower-head mounted on a wall. Instead it was one of those shower heads that is like a hose. You can pick it up, and shower with it while you scrub yourself with one hand, and hold the shower head with the other. I did not fully understand how to change from old clothes to my new clothes, so I ended up wetting my new clothes. I left them in the corner of the shower, and I believed that the water from the shower hose would not get them, but it did. For those who think that they would have handled the situation better than I did, even thought it was their first time, like it was my first time, I say they are probably right. I tend to be clumsy and miss hooks, and not really think of clothes enough to protect them from hose water that can run wild. In this place, one has to prepare logistically to tackle a shower. When Denise and I woke up the next morning, we were able to see the expansive wood scenery that awaited us. It was precious and majestic and the pay-off of enduring the lack of city comforts. The place also had this patio area with fairies, they were ceramic of course, but maybe at a certain time of day they awake at least for seconds to tend to the woods so they keep green and strong. I sat there. Took pictures of the trees, through a netting roof, and at this moment knew I was in a rustic-wood dream sponsored by dust of fairies, and I was in a state of stiff calm that settled by a nymph's blessing. With the poetic stripped, the place offered me peace because I was surrounded with pronounced nature in the form of tall trees, dirt trails, a blue sky, and I was not in a rush. I could simply enjoy the blue, green and brown all around me, with ticks of the clock ignored. I guess that is the promise of a vacation in the woods fulfilled. There was also a cat that belonged to the place. It was peached colored and clipped in all its glory. I forgot its name. Denise and I took a short walk to the small clearing behind the inn. And the cat decided to nestle besides her. So this place also has another charming quality of a good inn: a permanent guest, of the feline persuasion, that always greets visitors with a purr and a paw. Those kind of touches transformed our wooden cabin in the woods, into a wooden cabin in the woods where we interacted with a four legged creation, not a moose or a bear, but still the spirit of nature's animals was all around us. I just re-saw the picture of the tall trees behind the netting roof and I felt the umph of nature's breeze hitting my inside again. The magic of the woods came home with us, great souvenir if you ask me!

This cabin met my demands! We stayed in a Grant Grove cabin for one night in mid-May (Tue. 05/17/22), with a rather last-minute reservation, about 3 weeks prior. As with our one-night Yosemite stay later that week, I'd really waited too long to reserve anything in the park, so I was also stalking their website daily until one of the cabins with it's own bathroom was available for our specific night. As I was booking, or maybe afterward, I realized this was the Honeymoon Cabin, though I'm not sure how this cabin differed from the others with private bathrooms aside from having only one bed. This cabin was fantastic! Roomy inside, with many screened windows, plus a seating area & desk, mini-fridge in the large closet nook, and a decent size bathroom, the cabin had a large front deck & a picnic table on the side. Our cabin also had a space heater that we actually used on this night with open windows (for air flow). This cabin was situated on a corner of the greater cabin area, near the parking lot, so our neighbors weren't super close (maybe THAT is part of why it's the Honeymoon Cabin?). Please see my separate review for the John Muir Lodge. That's where we checked in & spent time using the WiFi Tuesday night & Wednesday morning. The comfortable lobby offered many seating areas including tables for dining & working (I did both), as well as cushioned couches & chairs in seating groups around the large fireplace. A small selection of snacks & beverages were available at reasonable prices, and a water-bottle fountain (like at airports) was near the bathrooms. This area also had a gift shop & restaurant, but separate from the John Muir Lodge. I want to mention that in addition to the Redwood trees here, the pinecones & squirrels are also oversized. Not a little bigger, but A LOT. And, at least in mid-May, the ladybugs were swarming. It was quite magical. TL;DR: I loved this cabin. I loved this National Park. I want to go back.

The wall heater did not work but there was a portable heater in the closet which was not disclosed upon checkin. Second heater in bath worked great. The private bathroom was so gross it was barely useable. The sink, toilet and tub were so seriously stained with rust or minerals (I guess). We had no intention of getting in that tub and avoided looking in the others. The rest was paint layers over layers, cracks in the floor, rusted pipes. The whole cabin floor was tilted and it felt like walking through the Mystery Spot. The charm can be retained but serious upgrades are needed. I doubt the lodge which is part of the same group has these problems. Delaware North spend some of your excessive money and increase comfort.
