What a wonderful place to say. A little more pricy then I had hoped to pay. The room was a suite. Great for us as we spent the entire day there as we waited for the evening wedding. It was so roomy, clean, and comfortable. We loved the living room. They came with both a microwave and a fridge. They serve a good breakfast with lots of variety. You can eat in the dining room or take it back to the room. There is also a very clean gym full of all the equipment you will need for your work out. I highly recommend you stay here if you are in the area. We are so happy we did.

    Roach on the wall

ROACHES!! ROACHES!!! ROACHES!!! After reading all the reviews I expected way better of this place. I was woken up to a roach crawling on my FACE! After my husband went to the front desk to let them know their only option to us was to move to the room directly next to us. At this time it was already midnight and my kids were sleeping. The next morning as we're packing up to leave there was another roach!! This place is disgusting!!!!! Do NOT stay here! Management was not helpful at all and very rude.

Just another Best Western. Sorry just a great Best Western. i travel Once a month and have many options for my stay. Yet I have not felt like home or valued as I do here. Thank you Ben for your help, and always making sure I get what I need to relax. do to covid, I understand why the breakfast is so so. But they the willingness to accommodate surpassed my expectations. I dont see myself looking for another place to say, when I habe travel from Silicon Valley to be near Fresno or Bakersfield. i will always check in here for my future stays. Again thank you Ben ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Isa pang Best Western. Nuevamente gracias Ben.

Back in Exeter for work, staying at this hotel... Here is why it continues to be a great place to stay: 1. While only here once a year in December, the staff knows you by name! 2. During reservation, I asked if I could have "my favorite room" - even though I didn't know the number... I got it!!! 3. Staff is super friendly... helps with whatever is needed. 4. They have a laundry room and even make sure they have change on hand so u can do your laundry in house if you choose. Thank you for being consistently wonderful for many years I've come to Exeter.

    Jacuzzi Room

Decided a romantic getaway from LA was just what the doctor ordered for Valentine's and thought that a weekend in the national parks would do the trick. Now, camping is romantic. But a hotel room with in-suite Jacuzzi? Now that's a couples trip! We reserved the Jacuzzi room on Priceline for about $140. On Valentines weekend, on a weekend when all the national parks have free entry, well that's a phenomenal deal in my opinion! I arrived at the king of the Best Western, ready for my Jacuzzi to malfunction or spit out brown water or SOMETHING that would ruin the experience. Nope. Just a perfect, hot, awesome Jacuzzi in the middle of the room. Brilliant. Props for being 30 minutes drive to Sequoia National Park and for the stellar breakfast bar with scrambled eggs, sausage and waffles. There are many closer lodging options to the park, but I wasn't annoyed with a 30 minute drive. Only downfall is there is NOTHING nearby, aka no walking distance gas station where I can fill up on cheap beer and Cheeze-its. No take out. No drug store. That's all about a 10-15 minute drive. So plan ahead. I will most definitely stay at this sparkling clean gem of a Best Western again if I'm in the Sequoia area!

    A peek inside.

The most notable thing to me was that this hotel gets serious about its handicapped rails in the bathroom. These were the sturdiest I've ever seen. And they come in handy if you've removed the no-slip mat from the bathtub. That is to say, that mat is there for a reason. The tub is slippery. I didn't try out the unheated outdoor pool. Call me a chicken. Very comfortable beds. Breakfast was the Best Western standard continental with sausage and eggs. The front desk service did stand out as being very professional. I would highly recommend this hotel.

It immediately set the tone for our stay. We arrived early from Los Angeles knowing check-in wasn't until 3 PM, and we had a wedding at 4 PM about 20 minutes away. The front desk let us know they'd try to get us in early but couldn't promise anything before around 2-2:30. Totally understandable! We headed over to Denny's for a quick bite, came back around 1 PM, and to our surprise, our room was ready! And what a room it was, beautiful and very spacious. The beds weren't crammed together, there was plenty of room for clothes and suitcases, plus a closet, bar area, Keurig, microwave, and refrigerator. The bathroom was also impressively large, perfect for two women getting ready at the same time without bumping into each other. Breakfast the next morning was another highlight, honestly, way better than expected! Eggs, sausage, turkey sausage, potatoes, bagels, muffins, yogurt, juice, pancakes, you name it. Even cereal! I wish I had taken pictures. A huge shoutout to Sadie at the front desk, she helped us at both check-in and check-out and was so kind, friendly, and professional. Truly outstanding service. A million gold stars! If she's not already a manager, she absolutely should be. Thank you for such a wonderful stay. We travel often and stay in many nice hotels, and this was easily one of the best experiences we've had. I only wish more hotels were like this one!

I felt secure as well as my vehicle. The walls were thick enough to muffle the sounds of the crying toddler next door and stomping children in the room above. Lucky me. The rooms were modern and updated, aesthetically beautiful. Clean. Lots of USB charging ports. Relaxing vibe. My room had two queen beds. The mattress was medium- not firm and not sink in soft. The room included a microwave, safe, fridge, microwave, ironing board, iron, tv, K cup machine with coffee K cups, tea bags, disposable cups/lids. The room setup also included a closet, with hangers, clothes drawers, desk, office chair, and lounge chair. The bathroom water pressure was great. The water heated up quickly. They use unscented Dove products. T The pricing is on the higher end. But that's HIE for you. Comparable pricing to other HIEs. The hotel amenities include an outdoor swimming pool and hot tub, fitness center, work computer center, free WiFi, clothes washers/dryers ( not complimentary), and filtered water machine next to the fitness center. The elevator is tiny. It seems to barely hold three adults with luggage and that's standing cozily next to each other. The fitness center is small. It has two treadmills, elliptical, and free weights. The lounge area also serves as the breakfast dining area. It has a TV and hot coffee, hot water, tea bags, and hot cocoa packets are complimentary throughout the day in the lounge. Free breakfast included. It was quite a spread. + Pancake - self serve machine + bite size muffins (banana nut, choco chip) + slices of bread (white, wheat, wheat English muffin) + bagels (3 different kind) + fruit: bananas and apples + cinnamon rolls + cereal: Raisin Bran, Frosted Flakes, Kellogg's red berries + instant oatmeal packets + mini egg and cheese Omelettes + bacon + sausage patties + biscuits and gravy + hard boiled eggs ( refrigerated) + juice machine: cranberry and OJ + whole milk and almond milk + coffee I was able to choose plenty of items to eat that avoided dairy and HFCS. Plus shout out to the breakfast attendant, he was busy working. Non stop. Cooking more hot items to refill. Cleaning the dining, food service , and food prep areas. Sanitizing in between. Doing this all very quietly, could barely notice he was there. Efficient and stealthy. All within walking distance is a gas station and mini mart across the side street, Dennys across the parking lot, and Aldi grocery store and eateries across the main 190.

    $$

Room rate: $185/night…read more Positives The office staff seemed friendly. Overall, the grounds were nice. The proximity to Lake Kaweah was an added plus. The outward appearance of the motel seemed pleasant. It is also a great location to access Sequoia NP. That said, there were numerous issues. We were assigned to unit #1 (closest to the office), which I DO NOT recommend for the following reasons: 1) Initially, the hot water in the room was lukewarm at best. We asked them to adjust it which they did. It went from low lukewarm to medium lukewarm. Barely warm enough to take showers. Ironically the room instructions say guests are supposed to wash dishes before check out or be charged a fee. How clean can the dishes get with lukewarm water? Should the health and well-being of subsequent guests rely on how well previous guests wash dishes with lukewarm water? We're paying almost $200/night and have to wash dishes? 2) There is a charge for ice. Never came across this before, ever. See photo of guest instructions. We're paying almost $200/night and have to pay extra for ice? 3) Cabin/unit 1 is closest to a pen where they keep sheep and goats on site. The view of the lake is obscured by 1) the sheep pen, 2) a large bush 3) two large trees and 4) a window half covered with water spots (made even worse in the morning with glare from the morning sun. The trees provided shade, the bush didn't. Other cabins had the benefit of bushes that were trimmed for better visibility. Not sure why we got this cabin when others were available when we checked in. Several other parties checked in on Saturday (the day after we did) so other cabins were available at the time we checked in. 4) No TV remote in the bedroom. Had to download a remote app to control volume and on/off. TV instructions (in the living room) as written, did not work. The TV went dark without notice and didn't respond to the remote control. It responded to turning it off and back on - sometimes. There were other times that only way to get the TV to respond was by unplugging it, wait a minute or two and plugging it back in. These were daily issues. Multiply that by the number of days you're there and annoying doesn't begin to describe the frustration. While watching the NBA finals, the TV shutoff with 6:00 minutes remaining in the 4th quarter. Wasn't able to get it to turn on again. Seriously? Note the photo of cables and extension cords hanging from the TV. Not a very neat appearance and could be a safety hazard. We're paying almost $200/night to have recurring TV issues? 5) When the toilet clogged and I reported it to the front desk, I was handed a plunger and a plastic bag to put it in afterwards. Seriously? Never cleared a toilet in a hotel before. Usually, maintenance handles that. We're paying almost $200/night and have to unclog the toilet? 6) On Saturday 6/14, we notified the office of water on the floor under the frig. On Sunday 6/15, we were in Sequoia NP all day, so the unit was available for someone to look at the frig. We arrived back at the room around 4:00 p.m. Water was still on the floor under the frig. Water was in the grout lines all over the floor. Same thing happened on 6/17. We were in Kings Canyon all day. When we got back the grout lines around the frig were wet again (see photos). If anyone looked at the frig there was no communication letting us know. We're paying almost $200/night to have recurring leaks under the frig? 7) There is an envelope in the room so that you can leave housekeeping a tip. If you're simply doing your job, that's not worthy of a tip. Given the cob webs and water spots on the windows they are not doing their job. Note - all units are single story making the windows reachable to be cleaned. Not sure why they don't clean the window during their housekeeping rounds or in between guests. 8) One window in the living room with an a/c unit had a cluster of dead insects and spider webs on the outside surface (see photo). Not the most appealing thing to look at. We're paying almost $200/night to look at dead insects and spider webs? 9) On a Monday morning 6/16 (our third morning) my wife showed me photos of roaches in both the bathroom and the kitchen. See photos. Given the lack of response to the leaking frig, I opted to get a can of bug spray from the front office and spray the kitchen and bathroom myself. I wasn't about to live with this nastiness one minute longer than necessary. Photos also show the dead ones the following morning. No urgency from the front desk when I asked for bug spray. They made a note for the Terminex man. No immediate action was taken. Almost $200/night to deal with roaches? I do not recommend this place.
