Stayed at Holiday Inn Express & Suites Porterville and had such a great experience I had to share!…read moreFrom the minute we walked in, the hotel was spotless, not just visually clean, but it even had that fresh, clean scent throughout the entire property. It immediately set the tone for our stay. We arrived early from Los Angeles knowing check-in wasn't until 3 PM, and we had a wedding at 4 PM about 20 minutes away. The front desk let us know they'd try to get us in early but couldn't promise anything before around 2-2:30. Totally understandable! We headed over to Denny's for a quick bite, came back around 1 PM, and to our surprise, our room was ready! And what a room it was, beautiful and very spacious. The beds weren't crammed together, there was plenty of room for clothes and suitcases, plus a closet, bar area, Keurig, microwave, and refrigerator. The bathroom was also impressively large, perfect for two women getting ready at the same time without bumping into each other. Breakfast the next morning was another highlight, honestly, way better than expected! Eggs, sausage, turkey sausage, potatoes, bagels, muffins, yogurt, juice, pancakes, you name it. Even cereal! I wish I had taken pictures. A huge shoutout to Sadie at the front desk, she helped us at both check-in and check-out and was so kind, friendly, and professional. Truly outstanding service. A million gold stars! If she's not already a manager, she absolutely should be. Thank you for such a wonderful stay. We travel often and stay in many nice hotels, and this was easily one of the best experiences we've had. I only wish more hotels were like this one!

If you find yourself in Porterville needing accommodations, there is a Holiday Inn Express (HIE). I…read moreenjoyed my stay. Every one of the staff I engaged with was great. Helpful. I felt secure as well as my vehicle. The walls were thick enough to muffle the sounds of the crying toddler next door and stomping children in the room above. Lucky me. The rooms were modern and updated, aesthetically beautiful. Clean. Lots of USB charging ports. Relaxing vibe. My room had two queen beds. The mattress was medium- not firm and not sink in soft. The room included a microwave, safe, fridge, microwave, ironing board, iron, tv, K cup machine with coffee K cups, tea bags, disposable cups/lids. The room setup also included a closet, with hangers, clothes drawers, desk, office chair, and lounge chair. The bathroom water pressure was great. The water heated up quickly. They use unscented Dove products. T The pricing is on the higher end. But that's HIE for you. Comparable pricing to other HIEs. The hotel amenities include an outdoor swimming pool and hot tub, fitness center, work computer center, free WiFi, clothes washers/dryers ( not complimentary), and filtered water machine next to the fitness center. The elevator is tiny. It seems to barely hold three adults with luggage and that's standing cozily next to each other. The fitness center is small. It has two treadmills, elliptical, and free weights. The lounge area also serves as the breakfast dining area. It has a TV and hot coffee, hot water, tea bags, and hot cocoa packets are complimentary throughout the day in the lounge. Free breakfast included. It was quite a spread. + Pancake - self serve machine + bite size muffins (banana nut, choco chip) + slices of bread (white, wheat, wheat English muffin) + bagels (3 different kind) + fruit: bananas and apples + cinnamon rolls + cereal: Raisin Bran, Frosted Flakes, Kellogg's red berries + instant oatmeal packets + mini egg and cheese Omelettes + bacon + sausage patties + biscuits and gravy + hard boiled eggs ( refrigerated) + juice machine: cranberry and OJ + whole milk and almond milk + coffee I was able to choose plenty of items to eat that avoided dairy and HFCS. Plus shout out to the breakfast attendant, he was busy working. Non stop. Cooking more hot items to refill. Cleaning the dining, food service , and food prep areas. Sanitizing in between. Doing this all very quietly, could barely notice he was there. Efficient and stealthy. All within walking distance is a gas station and mini mart across the side street, Dennys across the parking lot, and Aldi grocery store and eateries across the main 190.

There was some confusion because I didn't know I had to manually cancel my reservation on Airbnb, but they were very accommodating, and facilitated a date change to this past weekend. The room is cozy and cute - very clean, with a Keurig that was thoughtfully pre-filled, and plenty of coffee pods and tea. There is also a fridge and microwave in the room, and a couch that looks like it pulls out to sleep two more people (in addition to the queen bed). 4 people to the room would be...really cozy. I could have done it in my 20s, but probably not now. LOL. Check-in process was very easy, with the key in a hideaway with a code that was emailed to me prior. Overall, it was a really lovely stay, and there are plenty of opportunities to take pictures of the main lemon house, as well as the random fun sculpture peppering the property.

Been driving this corridor for decades and over the last ten years have driven by this place often and always comment on the lemon house. Who doesn't.!?! Looking back at the old pictures confirms what I felt while there. This family cares about their property and are constantly improving. Smooth cement and lots of outdoor lounge space is available. Gas grills for BBQing and the one even has an oven. Plenty of parking just don't be ridiculous like me and get stuck on a tree stump! But not to worry they removed it that night... haha Stayed here a few times now and the family that runs this has been amazingly kind and accommodating!!! We will always be back.

It's a darling little place that seems to serves as the heart of this little inside mountain valley town. When you drive up you should notice how clean and babyblue the natural hot springs pool water is ($14.00 a day for swimming $7.00 if you're a guest but I believe the pool closes at 5pm) Walk into the cute barn type building (loved that the bathrooms were right at the entrance) they had a little section were they sold groceries, another section that sold clothing and accessories, tables and games, a place to sit and watch tv, an ice cream stand, lunch counter, and the water company. The girls were very friendly and offered a lot of useful information about their little quiet and picturesque community. The people flowed quietly in and out of there saying their hi's and grabbing their goods. We were happy to learn that they have about 40 full RV hookup camping spots with a place to shower. All the spots were nice and clean, a nice place for some me or us time. We came across a nice older man who was out there cleaning and watering the area. The only negative I found here was that I didn't see much for kids such as a playground but there was a lot of hiking land. I don't know what more the campsite has to offer since we just did a quick drive around. Getting back to our lunch in the community center. It was really good. We were able to taste the freshness in every bite. They don't have a deep fryer so chips it was. I got a Turkey and roast beef sandwich, and I gotta tell you I was impressed with the quality of meats that were used and how soft my bread roll was. My bf got their bacon avocado burger, it was delicious, we could smell the bacon being fried up on the grill, the beef tasted like it was freshly grounded. It was one good lunch in a cute little place.
