"Not what it used to be," which several reviewers say, is an understatement. After three lovely family reunions under the prior ownership, our recent family reunion there was a disaster. We had everything from showers that didn't work, AC that didn't work on 100° day, dirty patio furniture, dirty front entry, dangerous and dark outdoor stairway, and nowhere to get coffee in the morning unless you walk across Highway 190 and dodge the logging trucks. When one family's daughter became ill on the patio and the mother called for assistance for clean up, the " manager" said,""so someone has a hangover...!" After complaining to the new owner, who said he would take care of it, refunds were never made to the three members of the family who had to move rooms the second night into a Porterville hotel in order to have air-conditioning and showers. A motel 6 would be better. read more

Stayed here for the weekend July 2021 The restaurant was closed My family and Booked the whole place a couple of the rooms toilet wasn't working so that was annoying you had a flashlight 10 times to even get the toilet paper down. We called to see if they could fix us and they never got back to us. The AC works great the shower was fine the bed was comfortable great views a lot of parking. They only had towels and soap conditioner lotion and a razor available. Nothing else. They didn't have lights for when you were walking down the stairs it was really dark. Just had the New Years Eve special. Rib Eye and King Crab with wine at $49.99 per person. Hannah was our server. She was sweet and was doing the best she could. It seemed like she was just hired as she was forgetting basic things. That tells me they just threw here in the deep end and said swim. The crab was spot on but the rib-eye was about 1/2" thick and came out well done when we ordered medium. We had to send it back. Come to find out, someone actually got our order as that's what the waitress said. It was at least 20min between our salad and our main course arriving. How do you cook a 1/2" steak well done? It takes like 5 minutes to cook a 1/2" steak to medium. We want to like this place but it's not what it was in the 80's and 90's. read more

The Springville Inn is a charming place to stay in a small rural town on Hwy 190. We're told that the Inn has gone through several owners the last few years. The present owners seem to be doing something right. The staff were friendly and helpful. Our check in was easy and quick. We had a nice comfy room at the back of the property away from the road. It was quiet and a good size. There was a small fridge in the room. There is a large bar and restaurant on the ground floor. read more

We made reservations a year ago and got the room for like $260 for 2 days. They never charged my card. The time came and they charged me almost $400 for two days. When we tried talking to manager he was stubborn saying it was a busy weekend. Well yah it was my daughter's wedding. We brought all the business that weekend. TV didn't work, toilet didn't work, half the room didn't have electricity and the exhaust to the bathroom didn't work so all the room got steamy and hot! Management said they would have a music and they stay open late on the weekend! Lies no band and the bar was closed by 11pm. Came in with a girlfriend the weekend before Halloween to have a drink on our way up to Camp Nelson for a Halloween party. The bartender was a sweetheart, and the drinks were well made. We couldn't stay long so we decided to stop in on Sunday morning on our way back down for brunch. We had the mimosa special, and split some nachos, and French onion soup. The nachos were delicious! Especially the homemade guacamole! I couldn't stop eating it. The French onion soup was not good at all. It was cold and the cheese was gummy instead of melted. DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL!! It's Disgusting. Toilets don't flush, bug invested rooms with bugs that bite all night, breakers pop leaving you without electricity, ceiling fans do not work. The keypad doors do not work leaving you stranded. There is not any management on site nor do they pick up when you call. No phone service unless u have AT&T. There was a major sewage explosion in all of the downstairs rooms. Completely flooded with sewage waste . All of the hallways flooded with human waste. All the hotel did was let the rooms air out and vacuumed the carpets. Unable to sit outside on the patio because the mosquitos are so bad from the ongoing plumbing problems. Best Poutine and French Onion soup! This is a review about Franks the new restaurant in the Inn, by the new owners of the Inn. We were driving through town and I'm a little of a snub when it comes to food and trying to find decent Poutine is tough, not too mention French onion soup. But the kids were hungry and I'm always willing to give something new a try. WOW!! was I glad I did. Just check out the menu for all the goodness. We had the Philly (don't scoff, I wanted some meat) Poutine and it was so good. They bring in ingredients from Canada so the cheese curd was perfect in and melted just right in brown gravy over just the right cut and crisp fries! Then I had the Kobe Beef Meatballs appetizer, in a just not to sweat, but tangy red sauce. The owner had offered to make me a Kobe Beef burger off menu as I was asking about burgers, but this was good as I wanted to taste more. The onion soup I just have to say, I alway try to order one as I love it and usually disappointed, but again as I said above the best I have ever gotten. The kids had ribs which were cooked great and had a choice of sauce, we went with Jack Daniels BBQ and it was tasty. I had a salad that was huge to go with it all. To finish for dessert they had a Dessert Poutine, which was made of funnel cake fries topped with chocolate and mini marshmallows! Like a s'more's poutine. I think I would love that tossed in light butter and sprinkled with cinnamon sugar, or with Nutella and banana's as well. If you are even close to the area it's worth some more time to come eat here. Price is a little above what you would pay for a quick highway meal by a buck or two, but the portions size and taste is beyond worth it, as much as the fun wall paintings in the hall and the comic book art in the bathrooms. The hotel was bought a little bit ago by an amazing Canadian family, at least that is what I gleamed in our visit. The wife then opened this AMAZING restaurant inside that has a small bar and a up stairs for live music and bigger bar. We didn't stay in the hotel as we were driving through but it looked nice, and if it's run like the restaurant is then has to be good. read more

Just went there for an early dinner with my husband and mother-in-law. My husband was disappointed that they got rid of the antique red chandeliers. They got rid of the landmark stagecoach. The service staff were gossiping loudly...we were the only people in the restaurant other than one other patron. Like I said, the dining room wasn't busy yet our waitress seemed to lag. What was she doing? Service should have been impeccable if they wanted a generous tip. This place is a must if you're anywhere near the Springville or or Porterville area! The menu is loaded with too many great options to have just one meal here. I stayed here three nights and contemplated hanging out longer just to have more of the food! The rooms are really comfortable and the beds put you right to sleep! Put that together with the friendliest staff on earth and you've got a recipe for a great experience. Specifically Lynette, Haley, Tiffany and Tommy were amazing! Honestly, we tried to give them the benefit of the doubt but we should have listened to the reviews. DO NOT STAY HERE. I would not trust sleeping in those beds nor touching anything. It smells like something died in there and it made me gag just being in there with that smell. We literally left within being in there for 20 mins. The person whom communicated with us about the room is no help whatsoever. I really wish I could give it 0 stars because they truly do not deserve one. Per the hotel employee "everything is running as designed" therefore they won't fix anything. I wish I could have taken photos but at the moment I was more worried about getting out of there and finding another place to stay. The new owner is a jerk Very rude and doesn't care about losing business! We were quoted a price of 131 per night in Jan. and we're sent a confirmation email on this. I called in March to just confirm everything and was shocked when the phone number was disconnected. Finally found a number and called to be told that we had to pay an extra fee if we wanted in by 1 (I was told in Jan that wouldn't be a problem at no extra cost in Jan) I then asked what else changed did the rate change too? The owner said yes it did on the weekend it's $199 per night but because we are a wedding party he would do 174. He also said he had a waiting list and if I didn't like it to cancel so he could charge the 199 per night plus tax. He even told me the other parties first and last name that was on the waiting list. I asked him if he was going to call and let anyone know he said yes he was. When he called my wedding party he never said a word about the price going up and charged the higher rate. He also called at 9 and 915 pm. What kind of business does any of this!! The rooms aren't worth this kind of money no coffee pot blow dryer and key pads for the doors don't work it took the lady 7 tries to open our room. One more thing the TVs don't work I was told it would be fixed on Saturday but the others in my party were told in a week. Take my advice drive to Poterville and save $20 you will have a coffee pot a room key that works and a won't be told the price is one and you are charged another. Horrible Service!!!!! read more

Had dinner here last week with some friends, and we had a great time. Food and wait staff were great, and the cocktails where also good. They have done a nice job of the remodel too. The Poutine was my favorite dish. I also thought the pulled pork was good to. Plan to go back next week and try some other dishes. I think these guys have ticked all the right boxes, and I hope they do well. I did not see the rooms or stay here so can not comment. read more

OK, good places to eat are scarce in the Porterville area, so the short drive up Highway 190 to Springville is worth it. This place holds a special place in my heart. I told my mom I was gay while having dinner there oh about 27 years ago--her response: "I already knew my darling, and if you are happy; I am happy." So whenever we need a special place, Springville Inn is it. Last week my sister, niece, mom and I had a lovely dinner with a few cocktails; starters, salads, rib eye steak, pastas, and ribs. The bill was around $90. Not bad and the little town is very rustic and nestled in the foothills of the Sequoia National Park. read more

Worst customer service! I contacted them to book a room for an upcoming wedding I'm in. They called me back and assured me they had a room for me so I provided them my credit card information to confirm the booking. Several days later I get a call back with her telling me "There's no way I can get you in, I'm sorry." Umm. Okay? The wedding is 4 days away and now you are telling me that you can't accommodate me!? Unsure of what happened on their end, and who they chose to accommodate over me after confirming that I have a room but either way its not worth the headache dealing with these people. We consider this place the hidden treasure on our trip!! Stopped for lunch and Shauna was awesome!! She would make a great tour guide. After going on her recommended tour up to Balch Park, we stopped back in and got a room and had a couple drinks.. It was the most comfortable place-the bar had great atmosphere-great visiting with staff and other customers-great music while dining and the room was so much more comfortable than those chain motels! I got the opportunity to attend one of their soft opening events and was impressed by the overhaul of the facilities. The staff and service were great and the event was very lively. Whomever the Christian comedian was, it was a hoot! As locals, it is rare that this area surprises us. I was pleasantly surprised that the new ownership has made so many changes to Inn. The remodel was MUCH needed. Drinks were poured correctly but I'll personally be coming back for more Lobster Mac N Cheese! We were able to lay down on one of the new beds that were brought in and I must say, that is one amazing pillow top!! Decor is much cleaner and modernized. Now, our friends and visitors to the Sequoias have a much needed and top notch place to stay. Looking forward to frequenting this gem. read more

My husband and I stayed here recently because we were in a wedding & if we ever have to go back we will certainly never come back here. There was little to no help around and when there was staff available they were extremely unhelpful and didn't seem to want to do their job. Our rooms were never cleaned in between the 2 nights we stayed there. Also, the bathroom door would lock you in if you didn't open it just right. Overall, a terrible stay and I would not recommend any of my friends or family to stay there. read more

I was looking for a place to stay for the night w/ my hubby before camping w/ our friends for the weekend. When I read about it on-line www.springvilleinn.com, I was curious, plus it wasn't too far from Eagle Mountain Casino. The food was yummy and the portions are pretty huge. Just like the other yelper, Dick T, we were in room 10 w/ the king size bed, too bad the shower was a twin size, it was small and made for people 5 feet and under. Overall, it's not bad, but really check out the website. That was really one of the main reasons we decided to stay in Springville Inn. read more

UPDATE... since our awful experience here. the same manager who embarrassed us and wanted us to pay for the cold meal and the replacement meal.. has offered me a free appetizer to fix the terrible experience. And while in private message apologized and told me that she herself handled the situation wrong...and that she should have made it right....went to the inn the next day and told the server(who tried to resolve the situation...apologized...and gave us 5 star service...but had a manager who would not let her fix this situation) that the review was all her fault...threatened to fire her...and has since then removed this server off of the schedule...punishing the server for her own shortcomings. I find this behaviour disgusting. and as much as general manager Carol claims to learn and get better from their reviews...that is not the reality. She actually feels no remorse for her actions...and punished our server for the review. Sonja...had I known my review would have cost you your job,I would have never left it. I apologize. Carol...not only do I not accept your offer of a free appetizer,I along with my family will never step foot in there again. you asked what you could do to fix this situation....stop treating customers and employees like they are disposable. we had our first experience here. I ordered the apple festival special burger medium...and my mother in law the vegetarian burger. when the veggie burger came out we opened it to see that there was no cheese on it...and it was not warm. we asked the server(who was very sweet and helpful) if they could put the brie cheese on there. she brought it back...and to my suprise...there was cold unmelted cheese thrown on top of the already cold veggie burger....the waitress was as disappointed as we were...she insisted that it go back and be remade....it came back a minute later half melted and half warm...when we cut it...the burger squished out everywhere.. it was the texture of mashed potatoes...there was nothing about this that was like a veggie burger.. it was like luke warm bean dip on a bun. our server told us to just order something different...so my mother in law told her to bring her what I had. I had shared my meal with her(which was yummy). so she said it would be good to trade it. a minute later your server came back and said the manager wanted to talk to us. she was speaking to us as if we were there trying to get a free meal. explaining to us that this is how vegans and vegetarians eat their food....etc...and we can't order vegetarian food and expect something different...therefore...if we wanted something else we would have to pay for it. I asked her if they normally served their bean dip burger cold...without cheese...and the server then explained how many times it had to be sent back to be cooked right. so for the inconvenience of my mother in law not getting to eat with the rest of us...she graciously took 50% off of this $13.00 mushy cold burger. not before making us look like customers who were trying to pull one over on the staff. ultimately it was embarassing...and we left with a box of food that we fed to the dogs when we got home. I work in this industry and couldn't believe how poorly the situation was handled by management...and even more so that a chef would send out cold food with cold unmelted cheese to a customer instead of properly fixing an order. thank you Sonya for amazing customer service.. it's too bad upper management doesn't have the same want to make customers happy. aside from that...the kids meals were great...my burger was great...even though it was well done...the flavor was awesome. We had a minor billing issue that shouldn't have warranted his time but, he springed right in and resolved it to our favor! It deserves a -10. Rooms smelled, pillows were rock hard and smelled like vomit. Rooms were dingy and grungy. Oatmeal is hard to mess up but they were able to do that. It was tasteless and was a hardened gelatinous mess. Waitress told us the cook said they shouldn't serve it, but they did. Rooms weren't cleaned because the "maid now" sign had to be hung on the door, which wasn't mentioned when we checked in. There was a dirty towel left in one room and a bikini still hanging on the bathroom door in the other room from the previous occupants. Next time we'll be staying at Holiday Inn Express...cheaper, breakfast is included, and it couldn't be any worse than this place. read more

I'm giving this place two stars because there was two bright spots to our stay, one the bed was nice and two the beauty of the area. Unfortunately that's all for the good points. We came here for New year's just for a little romantic getaway and ended up coming to nightmare ville. First of all the picture of the inn is deceiving. They show a picture of the original structure on the website and not the 1972 built tacky side wing that you will actually be staying in. The Springville Inn is advertised as haunted, but you will never experience that as the owners live in the main building occupying all floors. Don't think you are going to comfortable in the room as there is a note saying that laying or sitting on the bedspread will cause the fabric to tear and to kindly pull it back. Odd! I was on eggshells the rest of our stay trying to be mindful of our delicate surroundings. I had made reservations at 8pm for dinner a week ahead, got to the empty lobby and just stood waiting and waiting. If we had not taken the initiative to drag someone over to seat us who knows how long we would have continued to be ignored. Dinner was a fixed menu with salads offered at all. The items on the menu were dated from the mid-60's. I wanted to order the prime rib medium rare but then was told there were two slices left that were just well done. So I put in an alternative request. The waitress came back and said she did find prime rib with a little pink so I said OK to that because I wasn't thrilled about ordering the bacon wrapped catfish. The dinner came and the meat was cold. One-third of it was all fat with bark. The middle was gooped in sauce the piece on the end was...well-done. The waitress did ask me how it was and I was completely honest and was comped my meal. One of the owners past me by as we were leaving to ask if I was the one with the problem prime rib. She might as well put a Scarlet Letter on me and parade me around town. That comment from her made me feel terrible. The next morning came the breakfast part. Slices of fruit so thin as disguise how unripe it was. A warmed slice of fruit bread, and rubber bouncing cheese and egg quiche. On our last morning we were hoping to sleep in a little and instead we were woken up to construction......on SUNDAY! This morning we opted on yogurt from the gas station across the street since it seemed we would be putting them out to come in and make us breakfast. Check out was at 11AM and at 11:04 we received a call asking if we knew that check out was at 11. We did and were in the process of packing our belongings. Seriously, 11:04???? In the room there is a diary of past guests comments going back to 2004 and for the most part they are lovely. I suspect the problem here which came apparent to us after we saw a giant for sale banner out in front, is that there is no love or care left, and the current owners misery extended down on to us. It was one the most bizarre and hurtful stays I've ever had anywhere. I will comeback if a new owner will take some pride in hospitality. read more

This hotel has been here for many Years, it's a landmark of Springville California. It was the towns very first hotel, back all the way to western and frontier days. It's a very nice to stay while visiting or touring. The atmosphere is beautiful and very old fashioned, and that's the great thing because it takes you back in time. read more

I got married in Springville this last weekend and me and my wife stayed here on our wedding night! I can't even begin to describe how amazing this place is. Rooms are very clean and beds are comfortable and not to mention everyone who is was working there over the weekend are the nicest, kind hearted people ever. The Springville Inn is quite a upscale place considering the surroundings. If you are visiting the area, there aren't many choices in which to bed down. My wife and I were attending a wedding near by, we stayed in room 10. The rooms were clean, I'll give it a 7 out of 10. Our room had a king-size bed and was $95. My brother was in room 9 and got the queen-size, it was $85 per night. Our stays included a complimentary continental breakfast that was very nice. The staff was very friendly and seemed happy to help. We had the rehearsal dinner at the Inn as well, the food was quite nice, rustic and the potions were huge. I would have expected large portions in a place like this. The residents of Springville wouldn't have it any other way, I would guess. The bar is reasonably priced, beers on tap were $4, I believe. In conclusion, I would be happy to stay at Springville Inn again, but I doubt I'll ever have a need to. read more

I don't know why this place doesn't get 5 stars on Yelp. If you're looking for the nicest hotel in a 50 mile radius then the Springville Inn is your place. The staff was lovely. Carleen, the owner, was so sweet to us. We shot a film in Springville and Porterville over the summer and she was kind enough to let our crew take over her hotel for about a week. The rooms for clean and super comfortable, the food was great and the service was amazing. I can't rave enough about this place! read more

Not sure how someone rates this as an upscale place. Having stayed in places all over the world, good and bad. This would rank with one of the worst. Bad room, bad service, lousy over priced food i guess one star because they serve a good selection of beer. Room- even though they appeared to have tried to decorate it, it has that musty smell of not being occupied in months. We reserved their best room, what a joke two keys tell you that they rent the sofa bed room in the summer. No working heat In one room. Given the choice of space heater for the kids or move. We took the move. Do not expect to get much sleep as the only ghosts you will hear are the locals getting back to their cars after a few drinks at the bar. Food- it is presented nicely but the good ends their. Tried their best steak, I have has better at buffets. Once the fat a such was removed I found a edible center cut. Kids menu Mac in cheese out the box dis not eve look like Kraft. 125 for three adults and one child and no drinks... Try the Mexican restaurant down the road, had a great lunch their. My suggestion would be stay in Porterville and drive to this area to see the sights. A least the chain hotels will not make you pay up front for your lousy rooms, we paid for two nights and left after one. read more

Great food--I suggest the steak. They have a wonderful homemade dipping sauce for their bread that is one of a kind and delicious! The rooms are a bit outdated & pricey, but there is nothing like the view of the foothills.
