I sat in the front area trying to read a western book 9pm at night while trying to ignore the front desk person who was on a loud Zoom call oblivious to any guests. And there's the warm lighting i the once-cosy front area.that has been replaced with cold LED bulbs. Wait, one more thing. The pool & hot tub are out of order, the sign on the gate says NO TRESSPASSING. How about "So Sorry, this Area is Being Repaired". Would have been nice to know this before I booked. I'm done.

Clerk was nice and attentive. Decent breakfast and fast service; budget friendly prices. Decorated rustic lobby and bedrooms. Parking was very secure and adjacent to outdoor pool. Great place to stay here for a day or two while you are on your adventure hiking trip to Mount Whitney and Death Valley National Park. But beware; winters are chilly and summers are scorching!

The bath towels are plush and blue, rather than the usual institutional white. The bedspreads have georgeous patterns and the mattresses are comfortable. There are no motel cleaner and perfume smells. One can bring the car right up to the front door, making unloading and loading a breeze. On the downside: Our cabin was small, not a lot of space to move around. There was some traffic noise from highway 395 which abated overnight. The place had a friendly vibe of cyclists, hikers, and outdoorsy folks. We will be back!

Bottled water, and other treats were also available. There is a resident, skunk named 'Princess', who pals around with the local cats at night. She has never sprayed anyone (said the departing 'Music Club' members. . . they ought to know, right?). Then after being informed, the HIGHLIGHT of my stay, was IMMEDIATELY seeing her at the bottom of the stairs!
