We were able to get a 2 person "glamping" tent a coupe days before our Saturday night stay. I now realize why there was plenty of availability... The showers... oh god the smell of the showers was just so horrendous. Please look at my picture of the shower before booking a stay here. I have stayed at plenty of campsites before, and this was the worst shower situation I've experienced. Unfortunately the night we stayed, the wind was also horrible. The entire night the tent was flapping like crazy and we got no sleep. Not the hotel's fault, but worth considering. We also ate at the restaurant - I was pleasantly surprised with how good it was. The avocado toast was great. The location is not ideal - very far away from all the places we wanted to see in Death Valley. Not the end of the world, but expect to drive a lot if you stay here. Out and about in Death Valley coming back form the Joshua tree forest at the vary end of the National Park. About 5000ft up a vary poorly maintained road. If your in a car do not try the road. We got to the " town" of Panamint Springs and went to the only place for food and drink. The Panamint Springs restaurant. On the 19th of Feb. 4000 ft up the road it was 30 degrees and snowing out side and felt like it was maybe 40 degrees inside. I don't think they had the heater on. How ever the cook was walking around in shorts and a t-shirt. Every body other than that guy had coat and hat on including our server. If you needed the rest room it was arounb back and even colder than the restaurant. This is quite the place. Anyway I ordered the American burger with beer batter fries. The burger came with all the usual lettuce tomatoes and onions also thousand islands dressing with cheese. The fries had a light batter. All of it had really good flavor 4 stars from me. read more

We had a great stay in one of the new tiny cabins 2/10-2/14/26 Yes they are very, very tiny, but very new and clean. The hotel rooms are old. Fantastic desert views, a short walk over to the restaurant where we had breakfast lunch and dinner, all great at a fair price. Full Bar is excellent. You'll need to hang out next to the store or restaurant for Internet access but no biggie. Very friendly, helpful staff. The RV, tent, and permanent tent sites look great, but the one negative is the campground bath and shower areas - a bit scary! Overall, a much better priced place to camp than the ridiculously priced furnace Creek and much hotter stove pipe Wells areas. Peaceful, scenic, friendly. read more

We spent one night on a Saturday at this popular camping site which also includes a motel, glamping tents, RV hook ups, and basic camp sites. Our glamping tent was comfortable and convenient to park are car in front. We got lucky with a shady tree next to the fire pit. The wind at night kept me awake because it felt like someone was hitting our tent. The men's restroom has two showers, one toilet, one urinal, and two sinks, one wasn't working. The restroom needs a make over and is not well maintained. My biggest pet peeve is not having shelves, hooks, or towel racks in restrooms. These are inexpensive upgrades that make it more convenient to use a shower. read more

Friendly, dark skies, no signal, fewer amenities. Liked the dark skies. No cellular signal for many miles around. Some Wi-Fi in the restaurant and in some rooms (1 through 3) that are close to the restaurant. Basic amenities that did not always work. Central AC instead of individual room units. The temperature was good, but we could not control it. Our two rooms had broken blinds, a loose ceiling fan, missing pull cords to switch lights on, and a door that stuck and could trap a child in the bathroom. Walls are thin, so the resort asks guests to be quiet from 10 pm to 7 am, but some guests were noisy starting at 5:30! This is inside a National Park and park regulations apply read more

Loved the charm of the Panamint Springs resort. We rented a cabin and it was perfect- clean and had any basic features we would need. The staff was al EXTREMELY friendly and helpful. The restaurant was also delicious with friendly, accommodating staff. If you're looking for a basic, casual place to unplug (no cell service here!) I can't recommend Panamint enough. read more

Camped here recently. Campground itself is fine for what it is, there is almost no shade anywhere which is to be expected but could be improved. The low rating is for the other facilities- I am not sure I have ever seen a more disgusting bathroom/shower situation in my entire life. Truly gross. It is probably a health hazard. On our recent trip to Death Valley we spent our first night in a cabin at the Panamint Springs Motel. We chose this lodging as it was the closest to the (western entrance) of the National Park after a day full of driving (9 hours). They have a campground and tent cabins in addition to older motel rooms. The cabin was one of the smallest rooms we have ever stayed in, but very clean and comfortable. It looked new and has both AC and a heater - I can imagine the AC will be very important in many of the warmer months - it was cold when we were there in March and the heater kept us cozy overnight. There is a small, separate bathroom with a shower along with a sink in the main room. There was a small outdoor porch (but was too cold outside to enjoy during our stay). We also enjoyed Both a dinner and breakfast at their Panamint Springs Resort restaurant (which was just across the street from our cabin). The staff was helpful and friendly. Honestly it was a expensive given the simple facilities but it was worth the price for the location. read more

Entire cabin was super filthy dust/spider everywhere in walls, ceiling fan, under the bed, etc. Looks like the crew go put clean sheets in the beds & towels. The owners should be arrested for taking your money. At more than $300 a night, it was criminal - Stovepipe Wells up the road is a much nicer place at the same or cheaper price. Where do I start? The place was dirty, smelled, and a glorified shed. The bedroom door was splintered and broken, the bathroom door was barely hanging on its hinges and electrical outlets were an electricians nightmare. We had to pull up a chair to support the cords so they'd stay in the sockets. The bottom of the wall furnace was open and exposed wires and all sorts of things a child would find interesting. There was a clump of dark hair in the bathtub drain, the shower curtain was stained dark yellow-orange at the bottom and the "white" towels and washcloths looked like they had been foraged from the bottom of a gully after a flash flood. The curtain in the "second" bedroom was hung with galvanized pipes that left a good 10-12" gap creating a peeping Tom's dream. We had to use a towel to have any privacy at all. This place is a dump and should be avoided. Stay somewhere else, or plan ahead to be out of Death Valley before nightfall. The food was outrageously priced and when the man handed me the electronic device to pay the bill, it automatically added a 20% tip. It had an option to create your own custom tip, but the buttons didn't work. When I mentioned it, the guy just took the device and printed out the bill (with the 20% tip)! The food was definitely not worth it. I have pictures to prove my comments, but was unable to include them. read more

Broke down while off roading in Panamint Valley. The general store manager Richie was able to get me in touch with the correct tow service (Miller's towing in lone pine), got me in a room for the night, and even lent me an iphone charger. They do have starlink so you can get internet outside of the store. Yes it is rustic, but they are friendly and incredibly helpful. A true oasis. read more

Had a wonderful and relaxing 2 day stay in their clean and quiet dry RV sites. A group of us rented a couple of spaces and thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it and were so glad to not have stayed inside the park as those sites are mainly on a blacktop and have no trees. At Panamint you stay on dry dirt with trees and shrubs around. They keep them green with a drip system which is nice. Even though we stayed on a dry RV space there was an water spigots that allowed us to hook up our hose and shower/bathroom and use the water they provide which we absolutely appreciated. It felt so much nicer to stay here, we had contemplated staying inside the park but decided against it and drove the extra 40 minutes each morning to go into the park. It's that nice. We had easy access to their restaurant which was super tasty diner food. We liked it so much we had 3 of our 6 meals there and had brought enough food for all our meals. Service was super friendly and we even got a history lesson on the area from the owner who was very informative and friendly. Prices for meals was equivalent to any California restaurant which made us feel like they truly value their customers. The gas station had the basics and service was super informative these guys have all the insight to the area as well as how temps and closures do make sure to ask. The best thing is that we had internet at the restaurant and gas station but we were able to completely disconnect while we were on the campground, we could fully focus on being together. Will definitely recommend to family and friends. read more

The restaurant is good. The motel rooms are really bad. If you like spending $ 200 for a two bed room that needs so much repair go for it. The door lock is so old it locked me in the room. Had to twist it HARD to get it to open. Beds are like sleeping on plywood. Only two outlets in room. Window shade fell of when I tried to roll it up. Heating is provided by two electric space heaters. One is a small oil eletric radiator type heater and the other is a ceiling (shop type electric hanging heater). No thermostat, on or off. Paper thin walls. Closet and bath vanity lights were missing string to pull for on and off. The on off switch box for the celing heater is not firmly attached to the wall (code violation). Someone opened our door in the middle of the night looking for a place to sleep. We had to use this motel because because the West entrance to Death Valley was closed because of flooding. read more

The gas station is functional and they will let you tap into their Wi-Fi .. the restaurant right next-door is way overpriced. I spent $25 for a chicken sandwich. The next place you can go to for gas or food is like 60 miles so what choice do you do have? read more

This is definitely off the beaten path. It's so quiet and peaceful. I was a little nervous because there was no internet or cell reception until the morning. I had to get closer to the general store. I had a greek salad at the restaurant not bad. If you could film a movie up here it's that cool. I was pleasantly surprised by my cabin room it must have been nine by 15 ft. The bed was clean the heater worked and the shower was immaculate. They even had nice little shampoos and conditioners and lotions that I was not expecting. Just be careful where you drive there are a lot of boulders in the path. It's a nice in between spot to your next destination. And the gentleman a in the general store always had a wonderful bright smile. read more

I booked this campground because it had showers. The showers were the worst showers I have ever used. The showers were filthy, I don't think they have ever been cleaned. There is mold and dirt everywhere. There is literally piles of mud in the corners of the showers. There are no knobs to turn the water on. You just turn the valve and hope the trickle of water is the right temperature. There is nowhere to get changed or put on your clothes after a shower. So you either stand in the filthy wet shower and put on your clean clothes or stand out in the open and put your clothes on. read more

The only reason I am giving four stars is the connection to dump the blank tanks was uphill from the RV, which certainly posed a challenge. Not drastically, but enough to make a difference. Not only do they have a vegetarian option (any of the burgers can be substituted for a black bean veggie burger), but you may opt for sautéed vegetables as a side. We assumed that "sautéed vegetables" might mean mushy carrots or something similar in this "tavern" establishment, but broccolini with fresh garlic? Wow! The setting was comfortable enough, and the bar is actually quite beautiful - - made of a cool tree slab. Prices are reasonable. Highly recommended!! read more

Not my first experience here and I absolutely love this place. Great little spot on the west side of DV accessible from Ridgecrest and or Lone Pine. Store, Gas, Restaurant, hotel, cabins, RVs and campground. Everything you need is here. The store is also the check in point for lodging. They have fountain drinks, coffee, ice cream, tons of snacks and some staples such as bread charcoal or paper products. Lots of potential necessities too such as fire wood, propane, tape, glue and the like. Most anything you could need. This isnt a grocery store and you'll need to plan accordingly. For my trip however, we ate exclusively at the restaurant and were thrilled with the results. Good hot food from 7am to 9pm. Nice selection of beer and wine. I'm told they have a full bar but only during the peak season. That part is confusing I guess but doesn't matter to me because the beer and wine that I had were excellent. Nice hot breakfast lunch and dinner. We chose a tent cabin or "glamping" cabin I think they're called and were very satisfied. All sites have a nice canvas tent set up on a cement pad. The tents are in good repair and the area was spotless. Inside the tents were 2 single wide pallets or cots. These are not the folding camping cots of old and they come with a nice 4" mattress. They also provide bedding consisting of sheets, pillow and case and 1 blanket. Be forewarned, this is probably not enough to keep you warm during the winter, so hopefully you pack your own for added comfort. The restrooms were adequate for our needs. This is a campsite bathroom so don't expect too much however it was perfect for me. Although the water pressure isn't great (to be expected) the water temp was exceptionally hot. After a long day exploring in the freezing cold, I couldn't have asked for more. Two showers for men's and women's each. When I walked in there was a strong comforting smell of bleach as at least the men's side was very very clean. Manage your expectations. If you're looking for a resort with fine linens, dining, cell service and wi if, then this ain't it. Maybe Vegas is more appropriate. This an amazing unique experience. Come prepared and you cannot be disappointed. The staff at this resort is amazing. To name a few..... Ritchie in the store is very personable, knowledgeable and always at the ready with directions and advice. Shawn and Brian in the restaurant are very attentive and eager to please. The lovely Amanda who was doing the housekeeping in the campsites but I imagine she works multiple duties and the beautiful Morgan who is quick witted with a smile and a very good server. The vibe here is definitely different than LA (thankfully). There seems to be a closeness with each other and we both enjoyed watching the interactions and banter amongst the staff. Check this place out, popular for motorcyclists and a great place to stop, even if just passing through. read more

I wasn't expecting anything special but I was surprised. I had both dinner and breakfast here and enjoyed both meals very much. I had a dinner salad (grilled chicken added) with house dressing which was just perfect. All of the vegetables were fresh and flavorful and the house dressing is unique and subtle. You could tell that somebody put their time and effort into into making this a nice meal. My server was Diedra, I believe, who is engaging, attentive and thoughtful. I felt the same way about breakfast with thick, delicious French Toast, awesome home fries and scrambled eggs. All of it better than I find in most cafes, let alone those in remote places. I haven't yet stayed at Panamint Springs, but I just wanted to say that I had to go back and forth about the dates we planned to stay, and how many beds we needed, and every time I talked to one of the staff on the phone, they were so incredibly kind and helpful. Now I've had to cancel our trip because our dog sitting person fell through, but because the customer service was so great, I'm really looking forward to booking again, and finally staying there! read more

I have to say I never thought that this little small place would be such a hit me and my boyfriend stopped in on my birthday I was having a horrible day but I have to say that Andrew and Dedra really brought a smile to my face and made my birthday worth it with their voices and their karaoke and their high loving energetic happiness it made everything so good that day the food was to die for especially the green beans with the jalapeno ranch you're not living if you don't try that. But I have to say that the service was excellent by far the best service I've ever had in any restaurant. Stayed: 3/4/24-3/9/24: We had the best view of Death Valley from our campsite. The camp bathrooms were flush toilet and very clean. This is big for us as we have encountered some disgusting facilities in other campgrounds. The restaurant was friendly and inviting. The staff is awesome and the restaurant offered a few vegan options. They treated us like friends. Even joked with us and had us laughing. Every employee we encountered was kind and helpful. This may be a distance from the main attractions but totally worth the stay and drive. My husband is doing a bicycle trip with friends this weekend and they will be staying at the same campground read more

Love this spot, second time here. First in tent spot & most recently in the large glamping tent. Agreed that this is a nice departure from the hustle & bustle of stovepipe wells and furnace creek and is worth the extra drive. Close to mesquite flat sand dunes also. Beautiful scenery on the way. The tent was so Amazing after a long day out and quick one night in arriving in the dark. The large tent is so roomy, we had plenty of space and were able to prep our dinner on the concrete floor despite the windstorm. The tent is solid, lines secured with bolts to the concrete. We took sleeping bags, elevation is cool this time of year and blankets provided alone will not suffice. You cannot beat that all the linen is provided otherwise w/ pillows and towels. Close to Small, clean no frill bathroom & showers that's clean with little seen shower chair & bench for those who need. Picnic table with a shade tree and fire ring. The have a restaurant and very decent general store w/ souvenirs and lending book library & some interesting books by locals you can read on site on patio. Wi-Fi at restaurant/general store area in case you need while in otherwise cell free/remote area. The hours for those amenities are nice! A neighbor also recommended the cabins built in the 30s that are behind the restaurant. Close to mesquite flat sands dunes. Will definitely stay here & in the glamping tents again!!!! We really didn't have high expectations staying just outside of Death Valley at this "resort ". Not even close, more like a truck stop where they charge by the hour. . As soon as I walked in the room, it reminded me of an episode of criminal minds, where some creepy guy was watching everybody in their motel rooms. There was less than the bare minimum in this room. There were two outlets, one outlet had a lamp and a portable heater plugged in so we were able to charge our phones on the other outlet, but it was right next to the first outlet so it was inconvenient. We arrived after a long day of driving, tired and hungry, and just wanting to shower and go to bed. We went over to the restaurant which looked good from the outside but inside that was another story. I had ribs, which had no taste and were definitely cooked in a crockpot. Our bill was $90 for two dinners, which was ridiculous.. $186 a night, tiny crappy room with a gross even tinier bathroom. Barely room in the shower, rust on the walls and mildew, ew, the shower head was impossible to keep from sending water out of the shower stall. Carpet was continually wet in front of the shower. Tiny pedestal sink also leaking. No where to even put a toothbrush. The room had a portable heater, 1 bedside table. No phone, TV, internet, dresser or even hangers for clothes. You could barely walk by the foot of the bed to get to the bathroom. Walls so thin you could hear your neighbor fart! Unfortunately, the people in the next room were talking all night until midnight, and we could hear every word they were saying we finally had to bang on the wall to ask them to be quiet. Just spent 4 days out in DV and stayed at the cabins at Panamint Springs. Our friends stayed across the street in the tent cabins. The whole place is quirky, and maybe that's why people love it. The PS Resort is no different. It's old but comfortable. The people who work there--especially the owner, Ben--are super nice. We ate breakfast and dinner there every day and enjoyed the daily offerings. A good selection of beers on draft or in bottle/can. The food was tasty and reasonably priced. The location is perfect for seeing a lot of DV sites and I highly recommend it if you're either camping or staying in one of the rooms. read more

We needed to get away and really socially distance ourselves and thought Death Valley would be a great place since it is so vast! Panamint Springs resort was still open for tent camping so off we went! This place is a diamond in the rough because of the people who run the place! Ben and his family were all so nice and friendly. They shared great places to see that weren't on closed trails, they changed our camp site when we asked to be in one a little further away from others and really seemed happy to be there! This is such a stressful time for many and being able to be out in nature was a blessing. The views of the mountains were phenomenal and the air was so clean! Another plus was the camp sites had flush bathrooms and free showers which were all very clean as well! The store had the necessities and cute souvenirs and the pizza and milk shakes looked good but we didn't have any. The restaurant was open for takeout which was great if we hadn't planned on cooking on the fire. Thank you so much to Ben and family! You all are doing such a great job being a little peace in the big storm! We will be back! read more

After having our amazing trip and got back home I was excited to give this place a good review. Then I found out I was over charged $80 for staying two nights and the resort doesn't get back to you or pick up their phones. I booked through hotels.com I was quoted $131.04 for two nights 5-11-22/5-12-22 I ended up paying $211.23. It was weird I got three different billing errors from Panamint that added up to $211.23. Hotels.com is going to investigate this dispute, I'm waiting to hear back. read more

What you see, is what you get. This is not even a one horse town, but more like a one Burro town. The room was clean and looks just like the pictures. Sparse amenities, no coffee maker, no blow dryer, no TV, but the beds were comfortable and the rate was good. They have a strict no check in before 4 PM policy. The on-site restaurant is pretty good, and the breakfast is hearty. Staff/owners of the restaurant are super friendly and very helpful. Very close to Death Valley. Overall, will stay here again. read more
