Only here for a 1 night work trip but needed to sing the praises of this location and staff. 1) AWESOME breakfast bar with 3 cream options for coffee and a very impressive topping bar for oatmeal. Also eggs, sausage, potatoes...make it a burrito if you want with a wonderful hot sauce selection. 2) shortly after I checked in the front desk called me to make sure my room was to satisfaction 3) upon checkout I had one minor suggestion for improvement in my room and the attendant was extremely eager to fix. I had stopped here with 2 of my friends as we were spending the day at Death Valley national park. We decided to stay at the hotel instead of airbnbs. We were definitely glad we did. This hotel has free breakfast included in your stay and they definitely have a spread including eggs, a meat (sausage or bacon), waffles, cereal, fruits, yogurt, baked goods, and breakfast drinks such as coffee and juice. As for the rooms, they are not the ritz Carlton but they will do if you are looking for a short stay for a night or two. Definitely will come back. read more

This time was on vacay so no rush and got to take advantage of the breakfast - I do 100+ Marriott nights a year and have seen the extremes of breakfast offerings - this place does it right. Great selection, fresh fruit was awesome and all was well prepared and well presented. Room was very clean and there was plenty of hot water. Everything was in working order (this shouldn't be an issue, but I find it has become one @ most properties). Zero complaints here - well done. read more

We weren't going to turn around...didn't want to go too much closer in case the roads still were closed next day...so we wanted to stop soon. i pulled over and looked on the Marriott app to find the closest location on our route. this popped up. ...we booked it in the app and headed over. We arrived around noon. the hotel was pretty empty. They checked us in right away. the room was spacious and comfortable. we spent the entire day inside and didn't go stir crazy at all..just left to grab dinner takeout (delivery fell through). staff was super friendly. breakfast was a standard included breakfast...i had yogurt and oatmeal. we checked out early to head to mammoth!!! highly recommend staying here if you are every in the need to stop in Ridgecrest. read more

Very much liked our stay here. THE GOOD Comfortable, roomy, and well-maintained rooms, and the people behind the desk were really nice. And don't forget to ask about the freshly made chocolate chip cookies. Lastly, if you need to leave extra early (before the official breakfast hours) check to see if the food is out. For this area, this is worth it! frontdesk/checkin...amazing person who checked us in. Maybe it's a small town, but the housekeeping and frontdesk were all on top of it. Basically customer service was nice all around. I like the normal late checkout time. You can sleep in. Breakfast was perfect. Had eggs, sausage, veggies salsa. Oatmeal bar. Waffle area, pastry section. Yogurts, Bagels,toast...so if you have a big group...they will enjoy especially if you need to plan everything. Everyone will be able to choose something. We stayed two nights this weekend and really had a great time. The rooms were well laid out and clean and fresh. The beds were comfortable and there were really nice fluffy pillows, not the standard motel flat ones. There were extra blankets which we didn't need because the room was well insulated for both temperature and sound. And we were right next to the elevator (by request, believe it or not). We had no problems getting extra towels. They keep some behind the desk. The small pool was heated which helped since it was rather cool there for this time of year and my daughter REALLY wanted to swim and play in the pool. The breakfast bar was really nice. orange & apple juice, coffee, hot water for tea & hot chocolate, honey was an option for sweetener, a chaffing dish with scrambled eggs and large sausage patties, a fridge with three types of yogurt, mixed fruit cups, and two types of milk, fresh apples & bananas, small pastries (cinnamon coffee cake, cinnamon horn, and a few other little things I didn't try), English muffins and bagels. They had jam and peanut butter as well as butter and margarine. And make your own waffles with whole grain batter and vanilla batter. The only bad: the oatmeal. Too watery. They had a small market place where you could buy sundries & snacks & meals, and they weren't horribly priced. They did have free Wi-Fi and an ethernet cable available on the desk. 1st floor has a shower/tub combo. 2nd & 3rd just have a huge shower. They had the black out curtains which are important. There's a thermostat instead of having to deal with the a/c unit by the window. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. If you're there during the week (m-th), they have a shuttle that goes to and from Indian Wells Lodge which is a treat...and not just for the view, but that's a separate Yelp. read more

The SpringHill Suites Ridgecrest is probably the best hotel in town. They are really a "3-star" tourist motel lacking many of the traditional amenities of a true "4-star" hotel, but for Yelp, they earn a full four stars. Their new hotel is located north of downtown Ridgecrest just off China Lake. The hotel seems pretty new and modern with the chain's standard design and layout. My room was a studio suite with a small minibar and a TV with HBO. The bed was a bit firm for my taste, but it was decent after a long day in Death Valley. Expanded continental breakfast is available with 1-2 hot protein items and the waffle maker. The hotel has an outdoor pool and hot tub and is within walking distance of several restaurants. For the money, this place can be a great value. The larger suites make for a good basecamp, but do not expect any room or bell services. Overall it is a great choice in Ridgecrest. read more

The young woman who checked us in and was there most evenings was very friendly and incredibly helpful. She did have to break the bad news that the washer and dryer were out of service. NOOO! It's 100+ outside and the last thing we wanted after a long drive was to sit in a laundromat, but that's what happened. The room we had was comfortable. The beds were nice and we had a couch with some small coffee tables so two of us could work at the same time. Beware of sitting on the edge of the bed. I did that to put my socks on and the beds are just on metal frames so it did a teeter totter and I almost ended up on the floor! I jumped up in time for the head of the bed to go crashing down to the floor. Sorry, first floor! The weekday breakfasts are served until 9:30 and they were delicious. Scrambled eggs, sausage, waffles, oatmeal, yogurt, lots of fresh fruit, and many bread selections. The real problem I had was with the shower. For some reason we ended up in an accessible room - I may have clicked something inadvertently or maybe my husband requested it when he checked in. I don't know. I loved the bars on the shower because so many floors turn into death traps when they get a little water on them. There was a shower seat that we should have been able to fold up, but because of the poor design, it couldn't be folded up and took up nearly half of the tub. Then the shower was one of those hand held nozzles that you can slide up and down. On three separate occasions, it popped off out of the clip and went flying (great water pressure!) and damn near popped in the head! I say it kind of jokingly because it is kind of funny to have flying showerheads but I really could have gotten hurt if it had hit me. If we were to return to the area, I'd probably check for vacancies at the Hampton across the street before booking here again. read more

The hotel itself was average, however our room had a burnt Cheeto aroma to it that was a little sickening. Ten stars should be allowed in order to properly express my appreciation for such a remarkable hotel staff. My husband and I attended a wedding in Ridgecrest this past weekend. I was so concerned about finding nice accommodations because I'm really particular. My worries were immediately quelled after being greeted by Nichole at the front desk. We were warmly welcomed just as if we were coming home. Our room was well appointed and immaculate! Clean means everything to me! Our bed was very comfortable and the pillows provided great away-from-home comfort. The complimentary breakfast provided everything we wanted, was well organized, and the food had flavor. Did I say hotel food has flavor? SpringHill Suites has flavor! :-) Kudos to our housekeeping attendant, Carmen...she was conscientiously helpful and deserves a raise in my opinion. You just don't find genuine, graceful people like her very often. The wedding event was beautifully created with the help of GM Dan, assistant GM, Pamela Watson, Charlotte in housekeeping, and Patrick in maintenance. After staying at the Hampton Inn the last time I was in town, I decided to give the Springhill Suites across the street a shot (and also because I have status with Marriott). To be honest, there is not a huge difference in the hotels - both have a few floors, have space in the lobby for breakfast, and the rooms are spacious suites that are plenty big for even a small family. In these post-COVID-19 times, every employee was wearing a mask, which I appreciated, as well as the fact that mask wearing was required in the hotel. Unfortunately, this also meant that the breakfast area (which is smaller than the Hampton Inn's) was effectively shut, with only a modest take-out bag being offered (I did not bother). The fitness center was also closed, so I have no idea if the amenities there are any good. I did like the layout of the particular room I was in better than the Hampton Inn, mainly because I felt like it would be more conducive to traveling with an infant (which I have). The bathroom and shower amenities were fairly equivalent, although the water in the shower took a bit more time to warm up. At the end of the day, my stay here was perfectly adequate for what I was looking for. I would probably give the slight edge to revisiting the Hampton Inn next time I am around, but comparing experiences pre-COVID to post-COVID is very challenging - so I would not be opposed to coming back here either. read more

Nice place spacious for a family of 4 in the suite. Check out time is 12pm which is a bonus, most places make you leave at 10am. Covid19 breakfast included consisting of water bottle, juice box, cheese slice, muffin, cereal, milk and coffee. Didnt get charged for anything extra so nice to have these things available and not get nickle and dimed. Was told free breakfast was until 10am, went down to lobby and was told breakfast was until 930 but receptionist got us a breakfast bag nonetheless. Staff was friendly. I couldn't ask for anything else in a hotel in Ridgecrest. The hotel is relatively new and very clean. The staff is friendly and helpful. You can even order toothbrushes, shampoo, soap, etc from your phone app and they will bring it to your room. There is ample parking so you don't need to worry about coming back late at night only to have to park a few blocks away. The rooms have both WiFi and wired internet connections. Both of which are fast enough to get work done or stream video without any issues. Lastly, the breakfast is impressive. There are so many options: fruit, bread, pastries, eggs, sausage/bacon, cold cuts, cereal, and a waffle machine just to name a few things. This is definitely my go to hotel for the area. read more

Ridgecrest has some surprisingly decent hotels. I suppose the military base nearby has something to do with that. If you're a desert traveler looking for a clean and modern place to stay, Spring Hill is your answer. This location is quite similar to most Spring Hills. The layout is mostly the same, and the decor definitely familiar. We ended up booking our room direct as it came out to be cheaper than other online options like Kayak. We didn't have any issues with check-in and we ended up with a decent room away from the elevator and general noise hub. What I especially love about Spring Hill is that fact that all their rooms are suites, complete with a kitchenette. Even though we were only there for one night, it was still nice to have that separation from the bedroom. It's not huge, but enough to not feel like you're on top of each of other. The bathrooms were divided. Sink and counter outside of the toilet and shower. There wasn't a tub, which I was totally fine with this time. Instead it was a rather large walk in shower. Everything was spotless; down to the grout in the shower. Plenty of towels were provided and there was even extra pillows and blankets stored in the closet. On our way out I grabbed a banana and apple from the continental breakfast. I noticed waffles and hot cereal in addition to the usual breakfast choices. All the fruit was fresh and of great quality. Definitely something unexpected. In all, I was rather pleased with our hotel choice and wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. read more

We stayed here for one night on the way to Death Valley. We were originally going to stay in a motel in Olancha but after researching nearby options, we felt more comfortable staying in a chain hotel in a more populated area. Our suite was on the 3rd floor, the highest in the building, near the elevator. It was huge for just the two of us. There were two doubles (we requested one queen but oh well) and a sofa bed. The place could've easily slept seven people comfortably, up to 10 if you have people who don't mind crashing on the floor. There was also a bar area with a sink and fridge, as well as an office/desk area, and a walk-in closet. The bathroom was on the small side and the air ventilation didn't work very well, but overall no complaints cos the room was nearly spotless. We even had a view of the pool area! Not much, but impressive for the middle of nowhere. No problems with noise cos the people around us were respectful and kept the noise to a minimum. However, we could hear their TV before they slept and the next morning, we could almost hear everything they were saying as they were quite rowdy (sounded like a large family with young children). You might want to being ear plugs in case you're a light sleeper. Complimentary continental breakfast is available from 7-10am and included typical items such as eggs, bacon, oatmeal, waffles, fresh fruit, bagels, croissants, cakes, and other pastries. Didn't check out amenities, but there is a pool and jacuzzi on site. Free WiFi. No parking fee. For $119 a night, the price does seem a little steep for the location but justified when you consider comfortability, safety, amenities, and a good night's sleep. read more

Where do I start on this horrible hotel. Well let's start with the fact that the closet door came if the hinges and almost killed my 18 month old, thankful she moved out of the way and landed on top of it. Then the next day the lights in the bathroom stopped working so we had to use our phone light to use the restroom. There are no windows and it is pitch black in there. Then that same day the air conditioner stopped working. Our hotel was basically a dangerous sauna with no lights. They fixed everything once we told them and they said they would comp us $50, which was ridiculous because they should have at least comped us 1 day. A month later I get my credit card bill and guess what, they didn't compensate us anything. I called the hotel and they said the manger would get back to me. I waited 3 days no phone call. I called and left the manager a message on his answer machine, still no phone call. I will never stay here if I go back to Ridgecrest crest. The hotel is trash and so is the customer service. read more

Very nice hotel which does everything well. Let's begin with expectations: Spring Hill Suite is NOT a full service Marriott or Renaissance Hotel. I don't expect the same level of service or accomodation that I receive at a full service Marriott brand. That said I often receive BETTER service at Spring Hill Suites than I do at the full service hotels. Last evening I was met with indifference when I checked into the Renaissance LAX. Today when I checked in at the Spring Hill Suites I was treated like an old friend who'd just returned. The receptionist welcomed me back and asked if I had any preferences to my room other than those on my profile. Room is clean. Linens are great. Extra pillows. Love the big shower. Update: The morning coffee is awful. Barely coffee at all. Allow yourself extra time in the morning to find someplace that will serve a real cup of Joe. Highly recommended. read more

This was a 1 night stay for work. 3 stars because it's relatively clean, the staff is very nice and helpful, internet is free in room by land line, and the AC works well. Otherwise for almost 2 billsper night: - no bath tub (shocking to me) - dirty mugs and coffee pot in room - coffee downstairs was way too weak to be called coffee Marriott prices at best western level - unacceptable. I was quoted a much lower price down the road with a whirlpool tub but thought Marriott would be nicer - I guess I know where to go next trip out. read more

This is a very small town, so the hotel isn't hard to find. When I first went in, the hotel seemed to be brand new, but it's 6 years old. It is meticulously maintained - very clean and updated. The guys at the check-in were SO nice and friendly. My room was a nice suite. It had a kitchen with sink, frig and microwave, as well as a coffee pot. There's a living room area, with a work desk - VERY speedy wi-fi (I had recently stayed at hotels with sluggish wi-fi, so I appreciate it when it's speedy). The bedroom is kind of separated from the living room area. The bathroom has a shower instead of a tub - which I love. The sink is outside of the toilet/shower area. Super-comfy bed with the new kind of linens I like (I have seen them twice now). Clean sheets - clean towels, everything was spotless. There was plenty of free parking. Good complimentary breakfast in the morning. This hotel is on a main road through Ridgecrest, California. Up or down the street either way, there are plenty of restaurants, stores, chain-stores, etc. Some aren't really within walking distance, but there is no shortage of stores/restaurants. If I had one complaint, and I'm still giving this place 5 stars - it would be the air-freshener smell in the room. It's not overpowering like some places, but I don't like smells at all. It's just a little perfumey for my taste. Other than that, this hotel couldn't be more perfect. On another travel forum, a reviewer reviewing this hotel said it smells nice - ha ha - what some people love, other's don't! The hotel was a tad pricey (it does appear to be the best hotel on this street in Ridgecrest) - but I used Marriott points, so that made it FREE. Can't beat free! read more

The rooms are well designed, the beds comfortable, the linen fresh, and the air conditioning worked perfect in 105 degree outside temperature. The staff is friendly and courteous. Thet are helpful and sincerely care about their guests. The pool is a little small for this size hotel. The jacuzzi worked perfectly. Fresh towels poolside were plentiful and of good quality. The fitness room was also well equipped and all the equipment actually worked! The continental breakfast was excellent and well-attended. Room was very clean and spacious with separate sitting room from the bedroom with a large flat screen TV. The bathroom was huge, very clean. Our room was $109 if i remember right. Comfy bed! Good pool! Great breakfast! Book this hotel! It's the best around! We were making the drive from Reno to San Diego with a toddler. There was no way she would have been ok doing the whole thing in one day. So I searched and searched for a good hotel! I personally have never done the drive, so I didn't know which towns were darling, and which were scary! I was relying solely on Yelp reviews and Travelocity pictures. I searched 10 different towns and tons of "hotels" (using that term really lightly!) there was not a single town that I would let my baby sleep in! Then I found his place! Pictures and reviews sounded great! And anything was better then the bug infested horror movies that the other towns offered. We pull in. The landscaping looks lust and contemporary. The decor is modern and comfy! The staff is friendly and efficient! We are quickly shown to our room. The room is FANTASTIC! Seriously! The room had a living room and a bedroom! Everything was updated and modern! We requested a crib, and they delivered a brand new one! Yep, I had to cut the tags off that thing! It was the best feeling ever! Knowing that my baby will be sleeping in a clean pack and play! Ok, back to the room.. The bed was very comfortable! The shower was hot with good pressure. The room was quiet! Now the amenities... the pool was great! Clean, heated water, nice lounge chairs, fresh towels... what more could you ask for! Then came the breakfast..... "continental" is not the correct word for this breakfast! They had so much food! Yogurt, oatmeal, eggs, biscuits and gravy, fresh fruit, waffles, cereal, toast, and more! It was wonderful! And the staff working the breakfast was very attentive! Plan on staying for breakfast! It was great! If you are looking for a place to stay on a long rod trip.... stop looking! This is your place. We were in a nice room with a desk for the computer, a couch, flat screen TV, a mini kitchen with microwave, small fridge, king bed, night stands, small closet, adequate bath area and a nice shower. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Perfectly okay for a quick one-night stay in Ridgecrest. The bed was a little on the soft side for our taste. When I went to make our morning coffee I discovered that there was only one regular pack and one decaf pack. I got my coffee when we went down for the complimentary breakfast.
