We had to come to town to deal with a family emergency. I booked the Clarion because it has an accessible room for my husband, who has Parkinson's disease. The room was VERY ADA friendly. Great shower, lots of bars in the bathroom. When we arrived, we had trouble with our keycard and the manager came to help us. A little later, we couldn't figure out the shower, again he came to assist us. The breakfast wasn't fancy, but it was perfectly fine and the young lady that staffs it was very accomodating. The whole staff was SO friendly and helpful, right down to the groundkeeper. It was a reasonable price and very comfortable and quite. Total dump and wished I'd looked the reviews for booking a night. The hot tub and sauna don't work and the pool is not heated and the dumb Indian woman said it was it was! The water trickles out of the faucet in the bathroom and the shower curtain is ripped and the light barely works in the shower and definitely and danger waiting to happen! I transferred to the Red Roof Inn and got a suite for $85 a night. Ask for the Jon Faust special do not ever stay at the shit hole Clarion in Ridgecrest. I think staff needs to be complimented when they do a great job. I had a super frustrating billing problem from a 3rd party travel site. The front desk hosts Ray and Veronica were not only friendly and understanding, they were proactive in helping me resolve the problem. Bed was comfy, shower was hot, fridge and microwave in room, which is almost becoming rare theses day.. and it was clean and smelled great!! Big perks!! Let's talk breakfast!! At checkout they give you a breakfast pass for a restaurant on site. I was expecting a muffin and banana with a to go coffee.. but NO.. this was a full on breakfast, cooked when you ordered, massive portions!! FOR FREE! I travel a lot, you just don't get this kind of food for free anymore! But look at it! I got a hearty ham and cheese omelet, hasbrowns, wheat toast and coffee.. Fo Free People! It appears this place is being worked on so to be fair it could be much nicer in a month or so. As of a few days ago however our room was not quite finished some painting left to finish, a 2" gap under our door with bugs crawling in, my wife put down a towel she had feared that a snake might crawl inside. Front desk clerk Laura was very accommodating and sweet. We needed early check in to kennel our dog for a wedding. Room was nicely decorated. Beds were very comfy. Room was clean. Maids were nice. TV programming was analog and fuzzy. Thank goodness we brought our ROKU to save the night. I tried to take a Shower at 1am and then again at 9am. Water was luke warm both times. There was a 25$ pet fee in which I didn't discover until after I booked. If I were to come back to Ridgecrest, I'd search for something better but it was overall acceptable. read more

The headline: It's a fuckin' dump, bro! The staff are doing the best they can and that's commendable. The hotel itself sucks. It's cheap, the internet is slow, the furnishings are shit, the AC is on life support, and the shower looks like a place you go to get murdered. I stayed here for work and got a reduced rate...and I feel like we still overpayed! Anyway, I was originally booked for two weeks but after two nights I called it. The adjoining room had a ton of people in it and they were blazing reefer the whole time (which is fine....I'm just not trying to get charged for smoking or have my shit smell like weed). If you can afford it, go for the Hampton Inn or Springhill. Failing that the Best Western looks like it has good reviews. read more

My mom & I stayed here and the service & room was not good. We will never stay here again and I will never have my family stay here again when they visit. The good thing here was the room was clean & breakfast was good. Bad things- we had to get our key to the room fixed 3 times because it would lock us out & on the third time they had to get the maintenance guy to drill into the door to fix the issue.... Mind you that their door lock problem made us late to an appointment. We had to move into another room because that door was defective. The water for the Jacuzzi was freezing so I couldn't enjoy the jacuzzi.... they should've said it wasn't working before I booked my room or else I would've considered another hotel. The first night we had a rate reflecting our AAA discount and they were supposed to add our Choice rewards account to get our points.... well I still haven't received rewards points and on the 2nd night stay which was (Monday 2/3/20) the rate jumped $40 more & NO ONE TOLD US!! We would have checked out because there were other places much cheaper and less hassle I'm sure that I gladly would've gone to! They said to speak to Sarah the manager, however, when we called her our phone call got disconnected or she wasn't available as of today 2/5/20. I recommend everyone to go elsewhere! Trust me it's very pretty from the outside but inside the management is a joke! Oh and the darn internet/ wifi/ their computers for the protons to use were down so I couldn't conduct my business. This would have been a better review, but we woke up in the morning to find there was no hot water in our room. No help was available from the front desk. The woman working the desk said the water wouldn't be fixed until after checkout, and no manager would be working for us to speak to until the following day. I tried calling twice the next day and twice the day after, and was never able to reach a manager. Other than that, the room was clean and the breakfast was good, although the dining room was way understaffed so it took a long time. Nothing terrific, but also nothing tragic. The check in was easy enough though the computer kept freezing and it took a bit longer than usual. They must have some problems there since there are theft signs, warnings, prices of items, and waivers to be signed. Maybe the owner is just paranoid. The property is clean for it's age. Long story short, Mike who works here is why I'm giving them 5 stars! called the Clarion regarding reservations that I didnt realize I made through a third party website. I needed to change the date and mike tried to help, but said I would need to contact the third party. I called them and they were awful, unhelpful, and said they wouldn't change my date and wouldn't refund my money. I was so upset and decided to just called back the Clarion and book over the phone. I let Mike know what happened and he was so polite, helpful, and did everything he could to help us out with changing our date. We spent two nights at the Ridgecrest Clarion Inn and the room and complimentary breakfast were fine. When I received my credit card bill there was an additional charge of $175 so I called the hotel.  The desk clerk explained that we were charged a fee because the housekeeper said we had been smoking in the room. I explained that neither of us smoke (we always ask for a nonsmoking room) and requested a refund and was told that I would have to talk to the manager who would be there in the morning. I called back twice the next day and was told both times that my message was on the manager's list of things to do.  I am now on the fourth day and no call back. I'm left with disputing the charge and the lack of ability to document attempts to communicate with the business to resolve the problem makes that more difficult.  Perhaps a strategy on the part of hotel management? read more

55$ a night for this place? What a bargain. They had just remodeled but unlike a lot of remodels that are less than ideal, this one was done right. The check in person was friendly and accommodating. There was a free full breakfast where you were allowed to order off the menu. The rooms were clean, nice shower. The TV was huge. Arriving to the Clarion things looked great! First issue is our keys didn't work to our room, so we went back to front desk to get that issue fixed. We came to Ridgecrest for a graduation which lasted late into the evening. My husband and son stayed asleep while I left the room at 6 am to get a few things from the store. When coming back, I got parked and when getting out of my truck 2 maintenance men in a diesel instructed me to leave my spot so they could work on rooms below ours. So I moved out of my spot and let them take it. I didn't know what else to do. They left their truck running this entire time at 7 am. Woke my husband and son up. My husband confronted them and talked with the front desk and nothing was done. Breakfast is as cold as the jacuzzi. read more

The room and location is good but the service is terrible!!! They told us last night the breakfast would start at 6.am and we woke up super early to have breakfast and go to Death Valley. When we arrive at 6am everything was closed and they informed us it was a "last minute change" in the breakfast hour. The hotel looked very nice when we arrived. The front desk person who che ked us in was very nice, glad I didn't get the other person, who was short and almost rude to the other guest. Room is lacking electrical outlets, there was only one regular coffee packet, but the shock was when we went over to breakfast. After getting tokens at front desk, we walked down the hall only to see that there was a waiting line to have breakfast. Not acceptable to us, so no breakfast. This place started off great. The room appeared to be pretty nice, nothing super fancy, but pretty decent for Ridgecrest. After a few minutes into my stay I began to notice the issues. Tried to take a shower, but the water was barely lukewarm. I tried to call the front desk to inquire about the lack of hot water, but my phone didn't work. After maintenance turned the boiler back on, water finally worked. The walls in this place are super thin. I could clearly hear my neighbors (on both sides) conversations and televisions. My last complaint is that the breakfast is supposed to start at 6am sharp. The three days I stayed, breakfast started an average of 10-15 minutes late. There's no first come first served order. Everyone just pours through the doors when they finally open and they start serving wherever they want. Then the food takes another 30 minutes to come out. As a contractor, this makes it very frustrating if you're trying to get to work on time, and from the looks of it, about 90% of people in line were contractors. To be fair, my bed was comfortable, the room setup was nice, and the room was clean. All in all, I have this place 3/5. read more

Check in was horrible. They didn't have our room readily available and it took over an hour and they charged us for two rooms instead of one and would not reverse the charge. The manager was supposed to call or email us to straighten it out. Didn't happen and the next day the gal at the desk told us to call the manager the following day. No MOD at all on Sunday. This place is terrible. The rooms stinks. The carpet feels dirty and sticky. The door locks are wonky and don't make me feel safe, especially for rooms that open to the outside. The check in- out was quick. Rooms were clean. Good option for a quick stop over for the night. However my main review is for the restaurant that serves breakfast. Roxannes cafe has horrible horrible service. We were waiting for our order for 45 mins. To be specific our order was wheat toast with fruits and cereals. I mean unless they we're providing fresh fruits plucked out of the tree along with fresh baked breads right out of the oven. ( LOL!!) We had a toddler and that clock is ticking when you have them in that seat waiting so long. There was just one person assisting with seating, taking orders and servicing the orders. I am pretty sure she was the one preparing the order in the kitchen. I mean they either need more staff or more servers to assist especially on a weekend that is busier than weekdays. To top it all they were running out of yogurt, decaf coffee as well. Unfortunately we had to leave coz we dint have all day to sit around waiting for breakfast coz we had a trip to carry forward through the day. Not a hotel snob but the Clarion is not my first choice when staying in the area, but it is my last if the Fairfield or Hampton are sold out. The good: -Staff is polite -Rooms are fairly clean -Room rates on par with motel (not hotel) quality The bad: -Sometimes only hot water comes out -Sometimes only cold water comes out -WiFi terribly slow; ranging from none to 0.02-9Mbps -TV service not good, and is outdated -Paint flaking in areas -Very thin walls; lovely when neighbors are loud -No snack bar or water service There are other little things which could be picked on, but I chalk those up to you get what you pay for. Bottom-line is this Clarion is good enough if all you need is a place to sleep, but only when there is a mix of hot and cold water for showering. read more

Disgusting. Do not stay here. We checked in little passed 11pm, moved 3 rooms and after 2 hours of moving around luggages and calling front desk, we finally said enough is enough. It's not acceptable. First room 220, we unloaded some of our luggages and went in and immidiately, we found snacks or food on the carpet (crushed). We did not inspect the room further and drove back to the front desk and got another room, 223. The lady at front walked to the room with me to make sure the room was ok. At first, it looked fine but after moving all the luggages and unloading from our car, we wanted to wash our hand and found out that there is no cold water. Water from both sink and shower was boiling hot and no matter which way we turn, it would only give us boiling hot water. There were also hair on bed and tabacco right outside of our door. So we called the front desk, and she gave us another room. This time, it took her long time because she was checking a few rooms. she then moved us to Room 229 and again, long hair on the pillow. At this point, it was almost 1hr and 45 min since we checked in. We packed our stuff and loaded onto our car and drove back to the front and left. All 3 rooms were not ready for guests in different ways and 2 of them had cleaness issues. They need to train their housekeeping staff and their managers. The only good thing about this hotel was that the lady at front was nice and apologized for the inconvinience. read more

This hotel is really dated and somewhat dirty. When they say they have 40 in. TVs they mean 40x40x40. It was a huge box! It looked like something from my childhood that I would play Nintendo 64 on with the red white and yellow cables. Carpets were dusty and the a/c unit spewed a weird smell (mold?) when it first starts running. The price is really reasonable, for the middle of nowhere. The mini fridge had a solid brick of ice inside the freezer compartment so it froze almost everything we put inside. As for the positives, the restaurant attached to the office is great for the complimentary breakfast. The employees are very friendly. And the buildings have a charming exterior. Not sure if I'd return here, but there are a lot of things close by that make this town a good place to spend the night. Hopefully they can invest in remodeling the rooms. In Ridgecrest all week for training. Checked in on Sunday and the room had problems. Bathroom sink would not drain and only hot water out of the faucet and shower. This was not just ambient heating but full fledged hot water heater heated. Immediately asked for another room. I was in the next room for 2 nights when on the second morning I was unable to shower because only 100% hot water came out. Moved to third room. The water in the third room was ok for the remainder of my stay. Clarion people denied knowing about any hot water problem but I don't believe them because I was told the third move was to a building they knew to be ok. All three rooms were clean in appearance but stepping into the show showed black footprints from the carpet. Bathroom tile was dingy with some black mold areas. I also had keycard problems with multiple trips to the office. I do not recommend staying here at all. The only plus side was the cooked to order breakfast but that is from a limited menu that got old after 3 days. I was able to leave early on Friday and boogied back to Vegas to spend the night until I caught my flight home on Saturday. read more

We stayed here 1 night in Jan of 2017 because we wanted to visit the Trona Pinnacles. We get there early and our room was ready, and while the front clerk was checking us in he gave us our breakfast tickets for the next morning and gave us a nice rundown on the area. When we got to the room, it was clean, had a frig, microwave and coffee maker. The desk had many outlets for computer cords. The only downside to the room was it had a small closet...we only stayed 1 night so it was fine, but if you are there for the week, it may not be enough room to hand all your clothes. The restaurant there is fine and he ate both a lunch and breakfast there. If we are ever in the area again, we would stay here again. read more

I was so disappointed in what used to be the Carriage Inn. Since Clarion has taken over it has definitely gone downhill. In the past they were always helpful and would bend over backwards to help. My most recent stay was the opposite. Since we booked on a third party site they wouldn't let us change to a room with 2 queens instead of the 1 king. The first morning I tried to take a shower but the water was so hot (even on full cold) that I didn't want to risk scalding myself and went without a shower. I told the uninterested person at the front desk and was told their maintenance person doesn't come in until 8 or 9. The next morning I was able to get shower in but still was getting hot water at full cold, but it wasn't scalding hot. I had to brush my teeth with hot water even though the faucet was on full cold. Didn't really think about it until the last day when again the shower was scalding hot. When it comes to the free breakfast they old saying our get what you pay for applies. My first morning was fine, quick service and good french toast. The next two mornings I had to wait about 10 minutes to even be acknowledged then it was another 10 minutes to place my order and finally get my food. While this was happening the hostess was sitting behind the stand not looking over the restaurant and ignoring everyone staring at her waiting to be served. It's too bad because this used to be the nicest hotel in town before the Springhill and Fairfield were built. read more

Best deal in Ridgecrest by far! I've been working as a sub on base for a few years and have stayed everywhere. Clarion is my go to when SpringHill is $50/night more, the difference is minimal. The service at Clarion is exceptional. I have no complaints with either but for more than a couple nights Clarion is an easy choice. read more
