Check in was easy and professional, hotel was clean and easily accessible, room had fun splashes of color, the water was hot and good pressure, breakfast was very good, plenty of parking and I felt very safe here along with my car being parked out front. Some cities have been questionable the past. I LOVE that there is a bible in the drawer!!!! Every floor has a washer and dryer. All the staff are very professional and always smiling saying hello. Poor customer service. Stayed 2 nights, left yesterday. Discovered last night that i had left my toiletry kit with my medications in the room. Called the hotel this morning. Front desk told me to call them after 10 am when housekeeping arrived. Called at 10:45 am to Danny. He said that he attempted to contact housekeeping to no avail. He said that he would call me after speaking to housekeeping. I called again at 2:11 pm, but my call went to voicemail. At 5:15 pm, still no return call. Terribly poor customer service. read more

Wow what a great stay. I was in Ridgecrest for two days and picked this Hampton to stay at. First off the staff was friendly and accommodating. Second as we started doing with COVID, I did a complete wipe down of the entire room and found it to be spotless. Everything was clean and in good working order. Parking was ample and the grounds were also clean. I did not take part in the free breakfast aside from coffee so this review omits that. The room was on the smaller side compared to other Hampton properties I have stayed at but traveling solo for this trip it was more than fine. All and all it was a good stay read more

Excellent hotel in Ridgecrest. We stayed here for two nights earlier this week while visiting Death Valley National Park. We booked a suite with two queen beds - it was clean and spacious and had a comfy sofa, coffee table, and a couple of chairs, which came in handy as we ate all our meals in the room. The breakfast buffet was very good - with warm (eggs, ham, bacon, waffles, coffee) and cold (yogurt, fruit, cereal, milk, juice) food options. There is plenty of parking and a few good restaurants within walking distance, like Xin Bowl and Pizza Factory (see separate reviews). The hotel also has a pool and a gym, but we didn't use either. Stayed here one night while traveling to Death Valley for a quick trip. The hotel was standard Hampton Inn and the amenities were comparable to many others. My stay was on the first floor. While I had no issues with this, there was some noise from surrounding rooms, but it quieted down at a normal hour. I particularly loved the large shower about this room, but I did feel a bit short at the vanity. It seems a bit taller than average. I am 5'4" for reference. I know they offer breakfast, but we were out of our room by 4am, so did not get to experience it. Overall, if I was to find myself in Ridgecrest again, I wouldn't hesitate to stay here. Hotel visits in the time of Covid can be disappointing or downright scary so it's nice to have a great hotel experience. The Hampton staff were super friendly and helpful and the hotel was spotless with surface wiped down continuously and sanitizer readily available throughout the property. Amazing quality and value! This was our first trip with our 6-month-old puppy and obviously we were a little nervous but everybody working at the hotel made both her and us feel welcome. They were there to support anything we needed. The puppy had a great stay and we couldn't appreciate the attitude of the staff more. For the price point, this hotel is hard to beat! We got into Ridgecrest about 7:00pm and were warmly greeted. I loved the Trick-Or-Treat candy at the front desk, who doesn't enjoy a little sweet from days gone by? Clean room and comfortable beds were a relief. For a bottom floor room, I heard nothing of feet stomping above my head at all. Breakfast was generous. The usual suspects included Waffle station, hot oatmeal (prepared), bagels, toasts, juices, coffees and teas, cold cereals, yogurts, whole fruits and some cut-up fruit that tasted weird.. but you could always just have a banana. There's also scrambled eggs, sausages and a weird looking 1/2 english muffin with some eggs and cheese melted in advance (For folks in a hurry?). Breakfast dining was a comfortable room with high ceilings and some morning news on. I stopped for another Trick-Or-Treat before checking out. Truly an unbeatable bargain. read more

I have mixed emotions about this location. I placed a reservation more than a month indvance. Plans had changed and I ended up have to make a separate reservation for an extra day. I called on April 11th and requested the front desk to notate on my reservation that I have 2 separate check ins. They confirmed they made the note in the system. My first reservation was for 1 night on 5/11, the second was for 1 night 5/12. I also called a couple days before to let them know I would be arriving really late, again they said they would add it to the notes. When I arrived it was about 2am and there was a guy at the desk that checked me in. He told me that my reservation was for 5/12, but I let him know the situation and then it seemed he figured it out. He let me know not to worry about anything and that he would check me out, and check me back into the new reservation for 5/12. The room was super nice and the beds were so comfortable. Unfortunately, after falling asleep around 4am, we get a knock on the door at 7:30am and we can hear a woman saying hello as she was trying to open the door. I got up and went to see what was going on and I can see her trying to use a key card to unlock the latch. I opened the door and it was someone from the front desk saying that her system showed no one was in the room. I AGAIN pointed out that there were notes on my reservation and told her the whole situation. She apologized multiple times and went back downstairs. After a couple hrs, I received a phone call from another person at the desk confirming who was in the room. AGAIN I repeated the days I called in advance and I was told there were notes and I don't know how they are confused. She actually remembered me from when I called to add notes. She apologized for the inconvenience and she asked if there was Marvin Melendez in the room because someone added that name to my account. I told her I don't even know Marvin. Unfortunately we never figured out how that name ended up on my account. Although this hotel was really clean and had an amazing breakfast and service, I would most likely never recommend it. It would have been nice to get a discount of some sort for ALL the mistakes they made and the random person they added onto my reservation. read more

Gentleman that checked us in was nice. Place is old looking and dirty and needs update. The hallways have an over powering smell that is disgusting and you have to plug your nose. WiFi sucks and constantly kicked off. Water pressure in shower is sparse and comes and goes even less pressure. The coffee maker set up is in the bathroom! :-/ Checked out 10 minutes before check out time and stood around awhile looking for staff....lady came from around corner and had to get young man to help us. We wouldn't recommend even though breakfast was good. read more

Each and every hotel staff member was extremely friendly and eager to assist in any way. The hotel is very clean, modern, and well taken care of. Our rooms were absolutely luxurious. It was a very large suite with very comfortable beds, ample blankets and pillows available for a family of five, and ample amenities in the room. If you go on weekends, you can get a better price since they're usually packed on week days because of the base.So I get a larger suite for what would normally be a regular room. The last time, there was a thank you note for my repeat business from the manager. I really appreciated that touch. If you go down later for breakfast, they'll sometimes be out of things. Great place to stay in Ridgecrest. We've stayed at this hotel twice and have not really been disappointed. The rooms are clean, the staff is friendly, and the facilities adequate. We've also been able to enjoy the long-term guest rate, which makes the hotel cheaper than many lesser hotels in the area. Criticism... Some of the staff are uniformed of the hotels amenities, creating a little frustration when asking for something specific, like what local papers they receive. Also, there is very little shade available in the pool area, which is dangerous in the high desert's unforgiving sun. Those aside, I'm struggling to complain. I recommend the Hampton Inn for anyone who has to visit Ridgecrest. read more

Despite my many visits to Ridgecrest in the past, this was the first time I had stayed at a hotel / motel in town. I decided to go with the Hampton Inn, mainly because it was new construction (it did not exist when I lived here a couple decades back), and I didn't recall any other lodging choices that might fit the bill of what I was looking for (namely, newer amenities and something that felt a bit more modern). There's plenty of parking in front and around the entire 3-story property, and the front desk is manned by friendly folks who were very helpful while we were there. The dining space in the lobby is pretty spacious, with folks congregating there for breakfast or circling back up after work (from what I could tell) in the late afternoon/early evening. The breakfast - complimentary for everyone staying there, which is a nice touch - was pretty solid overall; the scrambled eggs ran a little dry but not to the same extent as I have had elsewhere, and the pork sausage patties in particular were fairly tasty. I also enjoyed the waffles one could make fresh, even if they probably aren't the healthiest thing in the world. The fitness center isn't too large, but It has enough of everything such that one can get a good workout in. There is also a laundry room on the 3rd floor - a nice touch for someone traveling with an infant and needing to do a bit of laundry. At $3-$3.50 for washing and drying (depending on the washing option you choose), it's not a bad price when you think about typical laundry costs that hotels offer up on a per-clothing item basis. As for the room itself, we went with a king studio and found it to be very spacious. There was plenty of space for us to set up our travel crib, but the only downside was that there was definitely some draft blowing in around where the air conditioning / heating unit is located - so be mindful of that; we only became aware of it after the first time we put our kiddo down for a nap and she had fairly cool cheeks when we woke her up. The bed was comfortable, and with an east-facing window, we could get some very scenic / peaceful looks at the sunrise when it peaks over the mountains. There is a fridge and a microwave in the room, as well as 2 sinks and a bathroom that operates in a fairly standard fashion. The Neutrogena bath items aren't the highest-quality stuff I have had, but frankly it is better than the standard-issue stuff one might find in a regular Marriott or Hilton. Overall, I was pretty pleased with our stay here, and I'm likely to stay here again the next time I am in town. The only other option I might check out is the Springhill Suites across the road, if only because I have higher status with Marriott, but given the positive experience I had at the Hampton Inn, I may not even bother and just stick with this. read more

Beds were comfortable and everything was cl Breakfast was very good, the eggs were about the best I've had at a hotel breakfast. However if you don't link sausage, peppers and onion mixed in (as my wife doesn't) you might not be a big fan. The only downside is that large room only comes with one A/C unit, it really wasn't enough to cool down a room of that size. I booked a room And had an emergency come up and had to cancel the day before. The Manager charged me one night rate for cancelling. I am a diamond member with Hilton and stay about 240 nights a year and every single property I have had this issue with has never charged me a cancellation fee. Use caution when booking here. I stayed at this location in November. I slept there three nights before discovering the bites I had when I woke up with every day were from bed bugs! Apparently, the entire region, including this hotel, had a bed bug infestation. The management team nicely replaced my luggage and laundered my clothes. The manager told me I'd also receive additional points for my stay, along with vouchers that would allow me to stay at any Hilton property. They conveniently forgot to add the correct amount of points, and the vouchers allow me to only stay at a Hampton Inn. However, none of this was recompense for emotional trauma and the pain and suffering I continue to endure from the bites. The courtesy of replacing my luggage was thoughtful, however the replacement luggage was approximately $70 when I originally paid over $200 and had purchased the luggage within the year. I have also had to endure many struggles and challenges in trying to resolve this issue. I have spent numerous hours in communication with various departments and individuals. This situation continues to haunt me. read more

Location aside, this is an extremely clean, virtually brand new hotel. It seems as if it was just built yesterday. Very uncrowded while we were there (late June). I only saw a few other people. The staff was extremely friendly and attentive at all times. My only complaint was the key card system for the room doors. I haven't seen it in other Hampton Inns, so perhaps it is new and the kinks haven't been worked out. Seems like everyone had trouble getting into their rooms. If you find yourself in the extremely unfortunate position of being in Ridgecrest, staying here will help ease the pain.........slightly. read more

Nice little hotel. We did an overnight pit stop between Los Angeles and Mammoth. Staff was very friendly. Gentleman (don't remember his name, shoulder length dark hair) who checked us in was extremely nice, answered our barrage of questions about dinner locations, pool, misc items with a friendly and eager to help attitude. Hotel was clean. Photos are consistent with the experience. COVID breakfast was thru at attendant who was an amazing multi tasker and proactively helpful. Not happy about my stay here. I'll tell you my beef and if it's not something that would bother you then by all means.. Stay here, at your own risk. First, I will say that the accommodations are nice. Clean rooms, clean buildings, it's a new hotel, so things are nice. The staff were fine, no issues directly with any of them. My issue is with my bill.. I signed and approved a certain rate for my stay. I received my folio in the morning showing a total of $110.00. Okay, no issue there. When I checked my bank account I saw I was charged 127.59. When I went to the front desk to inquire as to why there was a discrepancy I was told it was just an authorization in case I purchased some incidentals. Really? An extra $17.59 of "just in case." I've travelled the world over and stayed in dozens of hotels and have never had a "just in case" charge. Now that it's Monday, I check my account again. Nope, it wasn't "just in case", it posted $127.59.. Stay at your own risk. read more

We were on a little vacation in eastern California and had reservations at 3 different Hampton Inn & Suites for 3 different nights. First night in SLO, nothing special; 3rd night in Carson City NV, nothing special; but, OH - that second night in Ridgecrest! Check in went smoothly with friendly and helpful staff, opened the door to our room (got the suite) and holey moley - the ceiling was 12 feet high! Super spacious room, comfy & inviting sitting area, very comfortable beds, vanity area separate from the bathroom, big screen tv. We were pleasantly surprised. The complementary breakfast was like no other. Creamy scrambled eggs with all the right extras and great coffee were the highlight for us. When we were heading to check-out, we said 'good morning' to another guest in the hall and started chatting about our rooms. She said she always stays at the Wynn and compared her stay here to that hotel. We told her we loved this hotel and would be back. When we got to the front desk, I asked the desk clerk if she could hear us talking and she said she did. I said all of the other Hampton Inns are like Motel 6 compared to this one. She asked if we'd write a little note for their bulletin board and gave me a note paper shaped like a star. This hotel was definitely a 'star'! read more

Nice rooms, in a excellent location if you are planning to stay overnight on Death valley visit. Only downside is the breakfast place gets crowded and there is a long wait time to get waffles - I would suggest hotel management to increase the waffles making machines and increase number of support personals in order to reduce the morning rush. read more

We had an issue with our hotels.com not sending our reservation over to Hampton. When we get there, we have no reservation, but Ashley at the front desk worked tirelessly to resolve the issue. She really deserves something special for the dedication to customer service she displayed towards us! She called hotels.com for us and got it all completely resolved. We were so thankful for her!! The hotel itself was great. We arrived late, so we did not get to use the pool or gym or anything like that. But the rooms were clean. The beds were extremely comfortable! The TV was nice & new, lots of channels. They had a very nice kit inside the bathroom to include a make-up remover cloth, small cotton ball/q tip/nail filer set, etc.. just a little extra touch that I appreciated! The breakfast was delicious. Their tiny cinnamon rolls-- YUM! The location was convenient. We were there to go to Death Valley the next day, and it took us a little over an hour to get to the park. (*Note: If driving to the park from Ridgecrest, check road conditions for every road you'll be on. We were on some VERY middle of no where roads, gravel that beat up our car, etc. Fill up before you leave Ridgecrest because there is nothing until Stovepipe Wells in DV and of course gas in DV is super high. I love all the amenities: free parking, free breakfast, free wifi, free fitness center, microwave and mini fridge in the room; large walk in shower; portable-in-lap table for laptop, noon check-out, and well maintained appearance. We stayed two nights for Death Valley and really appreciated the mini fridge to keep our food fresh during the trip. I also very much liked the large walk-in shower, which is not typical of hotels. The only thing I did not like was that the air was so dry I kept waking you to drink a whole bottle of water because I felt like my body was dehydrated. I will be investing in a portable humidifier from now on. Overall, we had a great stay. It was wonderful to stay at a hotel where extra charges were not added on and the amenities were free. We stayed on the 2nd floor and it was very accessible to get to from the side door. Check in/out was a breeze. I would come back if I were to stay in the area again. read more

My friends and I got to the hotel early, and asked if it was possible to check in now (it was 12:30pm) and Ariana was super friendly and so nice and accommodated our request for our room to be facing the front of the hotel! Our room was clean and tidy and it had everything we needed! The beds are really comfortable too! When I checked in, the clerk put a $50 charge on my account for "incidentals" which he said would be removed when I checked out if I didn't use them. When I checked out, the clerk refused to issue a receipt saying that I had booked through Travelocity. When I got home, I found on my credit card account they had charged me TWICE for not only the lodging but for the incidentals I didn't use. Not issuing a receipt for checkout is not a good business practice. Be careful when you pay these folks and be sure to check your credit card account when you get home. read more

A discouraging visit if you are disabled. The room I booked was stated as ADA Accessible. It was not. The toilet must have sufficient space to one side for the safe transfer from a wheelchair. I had to wheel out of my room, down the elevator and into the public restroom on that first night. Four stars because Diane Ruggiero (assistant manager) was diligent and accommodating the next night. Excellent stay overall. I hope Hampton Inn will make the necessary repairs for others with mobility challenges. read more

Really disappointed in this Hilton property. It's relatively new which we thought would be nice, but I guess they are now building hotels with tissue paper walls. It was bad. We could hear every word our "neighbors" said, could hear them peeing, and got no sleep due to the snoring. I actually went out to my car to try to get some sleep.
