My son and I were sightseeing along Highway 395 and played this lovely, scrappy, and wonderfully…read morescenic 9-hole golf course both Saturday morning, then again on Sunday afternoon before our return to Los Angeles. We both had a great time playing this very interesting and adventurous golf course. Some decent grass, some deep rough--beautiful trees and infinite views of unforgettable mountain scenery. The course is easy to walk carrying your clubs on your back. My son especially enjoyed the spectacular 5th hole, which is a difficult, steeply uphill par 3, about 205 yards. On both days he hit very near the green, using a 5 iron on Saturday and a 6 iron on Sunday. Most of the fairways are narrow, so 5 wood or hybrid were used off most tees. The par 5, 9th hole is wider and invites use of the driver--my son on Sunday sailed his ball about 280 yards straight down the middle, in a fierce headwind! I had a short putt for par but missed by 2 inches or so....(okay, so I also took a mulligan on my approach shot) I'd suggest you first play nine holes without keeping score, to learn the quirks of this golf course. Stay relaxed and don't freak out over some difficult lies. Then play the course again while scrawling down your double bogeys and birdies. (Just don't forget to bring a scorecard, otherwise you'll get lost out there!) Warning: if you are dependent on carefully "manicured" golf courses to post a good score, then this course is going to make life hard for you. None of the tees were even marked, or had yardage signs. And you are going to encounter plenty of difficult lies. The tee boxes are a bit scruffy and the greens were too, but ADAPT quickly to the conditions and you'll have fun! Adapting to every golf course is what real golfers do. You have to man the hell up! It's FUN to not complain about a few "challenging" course conditions..... Like I said, a very adventurous and interesting little course, a one-of-a-kind, rural course with stunning views of the High Sierra and the mysterious Inyo Mountains, and surrounded by pastures full of mooing cattle. Lushly overgrown with scores of towering, majestic cottonwood trees. We even saw a pheasant grazing along a fairway. Also, the staff and club members we met were 10/10 friendly and helpful. So we will be back to play again, probably every year or two. Definitely! S.M.

The groundskeeper and bartender are a couple of very nice guys and very accommodating. It was great walking around and meeting the cows that border the golf course. The dogs loved meeting them up close! The golf course is adequate for anyone wanting to play; not Sawgrass but still doable. We were given a golf cart so we drove thru the golf course and on a 4 wheeler path right next to our camp. Really a great experience!

Hi Lorie, Thanks…read morefor your passive aggressive response! I don't care if bugs are in your area in August. Your staff failed to clean properly. It was not only live spiders, it was dead bugs riddled along the walls. Whether the filth was behind the bed or underneath it is semantics and just goes to show you fail to take responsibility for anything. Not only that, but Jamie received 0 hostility from our party months before the wedding. The first time we met Jamie was for our walk through in July and we certainly notified him of our walk through time. He failed to check his emails. If Ben was fired due to unprofessionalism, why did you tell my coordinator that all brides would hire him directly? I'll post that screenshot below. He must not have been that bad if you were willing to reinstate him in future packages. If your package doesn't include a coordinator then don't include it on your website. Simple. Besides all of this, we're also now finding out Jamie scheduled 2 couples to do their food tasting on our wedding day, but told the caterer he only scheduled one. When the second couple arrived, they were given a portion of OUR extra food. You guys never confirmed this with us. So not only were strangers at our wedding, you gave them our food, which according to Jamie, is customary for your venue. We've also been made aware that Jamie's real name is Tim, so for every time we thought we were communicating with you, we communicated with Jamie the ENTIRE time. I did not post a review until now because with the type of business you run, I was concerned if we left a bad review we would not get our security deposit back, as you tried to do to another bride. It's a shame that you have such a beautiful venue, because an owner like you that fails to take accountability ruins it. Hopefully whoever decides to buy it in the future will run it better. If, according to you, the brides happiness is first priority, then you've done an absolutely horrible job at showing it! I'll make sure to respect this in my other reviews as well. Have the day you deserve.

Our DOC flew from Los Angeles to be with us on our wedding day. Her price was reasonable, and she ensured that we got everything we needed for the wedding. The director of the company (Ivet) was the one in charge of our event. She is a type A personality, rather direct and strong. If you knew my family you'd understand why this is the only type of person that could get things done with us. Fortun Events makes sure to assign you with one of their wedding coordinators who will best match up your needs. Like I said, they get things done, but always let YOU have the last word. Ivet was there for me throughout the whole planning process (available 24/7 if all I needed was to vent!). She arrived in town a couple of days before the wedding, and she kept me and everyone else calm on the big day. She was very organized and attentive to detail (which, being as picky as I am, was so comforting!) Few months after the wedding, and people are still talking about how wonderful it was. If you're hosting an event that is important to you, Fortun Events is the place to go to guarantee a success. I'm so glad we picked them!!! T & J

The entertainment was a lot of fun, I played a few of Freddies games, I even got second place in one. I loved watching Skip the Balloon man with his songs and huge balloon. He's so funny!! And I love the Ducks!! I watched three of their shows, and I even got to race a duck!! Mine won!! The sax player was really good too. I loved walking around the carnival. It is really pretty at night. I enjoy the music and lights. The kids were having a blast. I liked listening to the band. They played great music. If I could change just one thing, it would be that back area where the knights and king was, I accidently found it, and not very many people were watching, not because it was boring, I felt like it was really hard to find. But it was entertaining to me. I like this fair a lot.
