I rarely use laundromats. My townhouse has a perfectly fine washer/dryer stack, but when I have houseguests and have to clean a lot of sheets and comforters, I have to seek out a laundromat. West Seattle laundry definitely fits the bill. THE ROSES: Off-street parking behind the laundromat is very handy, unless you come at a peak period, it's easy to find a close in spot and not have to hump your wash a long distance. Very good selection of machines, including large (3x a regular load), and a few truly ginormous (5x a regular load) for tackling comforters. Lots of large-capacity dryers that do a very good job drying blankets, towels, etc. The staff does a good job keeping the place up. The two times I used it this week I noted very few machines out of order, and the facility was clean. I am particularly fond of their use of app-based methods to pay for your wash (PayRange). No need to scrounge quarters to run the wash; just use the app and you're good to go! THE THORNS: Occasionally you see sketchy people in the area, and sometimes they use the laundry. On my second visit some strange dude came over and tried to make conversation, then shared he *just happened* to forget to bring his laundry soap, so could I spare some money so he could buy some from the dispenser? Fortunately I was almost done, so I could just brush him off and leave. It would be nice if the management could do a better job of keeping the riff-raff out, but to be fair, this is better than most pubic laundromats I've been to. THE VERDICT: When you have a LOT of laundry to do, or need to clean bulky items, West Seattle Laundry can be your 'go-to' place! Recommend. read more

I will never go back. I parked briefly in the back area to get change and returned within five minutes to a $122 ticket. My car was on, lights on, and I was in and out. You're expected to pay to park and pay to use the laundry, which was not clearly communicated. When I tried to resolve this, no one replied to my emails. They claim a five-day ticket payment policy, yet it's been weeks with zero response. Meanwhile, the fee continues to hang over you with no way to make it right. I've lived in West Seattle for years and recently moved back, and I had no idea these were the parking circumstances. It's really the only one that's nearby. It's relatively clean, well maintained and in a nice neighborhood. It's also got the CC payment option so don't need quarters although that is available... unless they run out of quarters because people come in to exchange their bills for the coins and then do not use the coins for laundry. read more

ZERO frills, but this place got the job done. Good selection of regular to XXL washers, change machine and soap vending machine worked fine, clean enough, and no shady characters hanging around or anything. I didn't see anyone working there though, so make sure you bring small bills etc. read more

I was pleasantly surprised at how nice and clean this laundromat was. Prices for wash & dry were competitive and they have both regular, larger and super size washers to match your load size. I went early on a weekday and the place was pretty quiet. Single-use size detergent & fabric softener is available in co-op format. Bill changers are also available. read more

I stand by my review from August 2016 and I still will give it a 5 star. This is based on the simple requirements I want in a laundromat facility: * Good selection of washers and dryers * Location next to Burien Fred Meyer * Hours of operation * Credit card accepted on several of the machines (not all machines) * Clean (with acceptable usage) There is of course occasional detergent and fabric softener residue because of customer usage. Just recently, new machines were added. This facility also offers a drop-off service and most times the employees that work there are doing laundry for the drop-off service. If someone notices something untidy to their standard, just ask the employees to clean it up. Give them the opportunity to keep the facility clean as possible. There are customers who come in and out and a lot of machines.... so some things can get missed. If the restroom is not up to your standard, Fred Meyer is only a few steps away. Again, my desire is to have a facility I feel safe, price, hours of operation and the location is great, as I can grocery shop while my clothes are washing. :) Recent photos added. read more

Convinient place. It is located right next to Fred Meyer so you can multi-task and have clothes washing and drying as you do your errands. Different sizes of machines. Easily can wash everything at once. Place is clean and you will feel safe. This is the only laundrymat I come to. Other laundrymats around the area does not compare. read more

I've visited this laundry in the past, so I knew last wash was fairly last. It's close to 8pm I pull in, look at the sign before I unload my clothes to make sure I wasn't too late to start a wash. The sign stated 8:30 last wash. I unload my clothes. I put two loads in the dryer. I loaded up one of the large $7 washers, a smaller wash washer them I'm about to load my last wash load in the $5.50 washer. Th attended is like I'm sorry the last load is at 8pm. I said the sign says 8:30. She says wel did you start the loads? I said no I loaded them up she'd like I'm sorry the last laid is at 8. I walk away load up my stuff to put back in my car. On my way out with the he last load o ask "what time is the owner in?" She says "they don't". I say ok what time is the Manager in? She's like I'll let them know. I said "no it'll ok, I'll call them myself. It's simple enough to update the sign. I looked at it before I put my clothes in". She's like well if you already put them in it's ok you can wash them. I said "No, I already loaded my stuff back in the car it's ok." And walked out. Why was it ok for me to wash after I said ii am going to call tomorrow to complain? I was irritated that I unloaded the. Had to load my stuff back up but I simply want to let the owner/ manager know that updating the sign would be super helpful. Just want to say that this is the dirtiest laundromat I have ever been to. The floor in front of each washer and dryer is covered in hair. The soap dispensers are nasty. The glass on the front doors is always dirty. And don't even think you're going to use the restroom here because it's gross and there's no soap in the dispenser. There are famlies with lityle girls washing here and the little ones have to use that disgusting bathroom. There's a person who works here but she doesn't clean. -Filthy, and I mean really really bad. Spilled liquids here and there (gross!), sticky machines (creepy), dirt from what looks like decades on regular surfaces, laundry lint piles all over the place, bunches of hair just everywhere (wtf?), glass on front of machines is dirty and sometimes weirdly discolored - I mean not dirty, but FILTHY. I was so glad to leave - I felt dirty myself by the time I was finished. *shiver* -Credit cards - I saw no machines that accept them. I did look for them, but I didn't look at every single machine.They were not in either of the two aisles I used. I probably didn't see them because I avoided looking anywhere I didn't have to- because the filth of this place had me so creeped out! I kept my nose in a book when not actively moving laundry. -I folded my stuff while it was in the basket instead of putting my clean clothes on the filthy tables. Yeah, that bad. This is a large, clean laundromat. Everything you'd expect really. It was fairly busy at 10:30am on a Tuesday as they have $1 washes on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday. The only reason I was coming here is because my dryer broke. So after my girlfriend and I hauled out our wet clothes from the car and walked towards the building we were rudely greeted by a worker that told us they were closed. When clearly there were still people in there. She said they closed at 9 but the door said 10:30. And even online. And yelp. Said 10:30. Maybe it was because we weren't Hispanic? I don't know. When I called to make a complaint the man (don't know his name) that I talked to was VERY RUDE!!!!!! I tried several times to explain the situation and all he said is "well what do you want me to do about it" in a very rude tone of voice.
