What a great experience. I was so impressed with how professional and caring Dr. Cohen and her staff were. Let me start from the beginning. At the time of my treatment I was 38 weeks pregnant, Seattle had a snow storm and it was 2 days before Thanksgiving that I absolutely had to see my regular dentist, Dr. Mark Bingham. A root canal that I had done about 10 years ago had gotten infected. Being pregnant I could only take extra strength Tylenol and it was the only thing keeping me sane. He was very concerned and told me he didn't know what was wrong and that I had to see an endodontist. He referred me to Dr. Cohen. He even called their office himself and made the appointment for me for the following morning at 8am. When I went in the next morning, the young man at the desk knew who I was and was very courteous to me. They even had a single cup coffee maker with all the trimmings in the waiting area. A nice touch in my book. Then I got to meet the doctor and her assistant. They made sure I was comfortable. They covered me with a fleece blanket and thoroughly explained what they saw on my x-rays. It didn't look good. They could tell how much pain I was in and did their best to keep me pain free for the duration of my visit. I have had 3 root canals done and I must say, this one was painless! The topical gel used to numb my gums came from Tennessee. It was so good that I never felt the needle. I asked the assistant about the gel and she told me they had to special order it. I'm the biggest baby and was so grateful for that gel. When they started working on me I was totally at ease. They gave me instructions to use hand signals the second I felt any remote pain but I never had to. When they finished they made sure to contact my OBGYN to check on what medications I could take for pain and antibiotics. Before I left Dr. Cohen gave me 2 Tylenol and a yogurt and her assistant gave me an apple juice. My gums did hurt the next day but I was prepared with the pain meds. The best part was that Dr. Cohen called me the next day on Thanksgiving to check on me. I can't say enough about what a great endodontist Dr. Cohen is. Her staff is friendly and courteous. I would definitely recommend her to anyone in need of a root canal. read more

Dr. Cohen and her staff at West Seattle Endodontics are wonderful! I was impressed by the level of professionalism and superior customer service. I was referred to Dr. Cohen by a family member and couldn't be more happy with my choice to pursue this recommendation. At the time, I was in excruciating pain from a tooth that required a root canal. I found Dr. Cohen and Staff to be highly considerate of my ordeal and wanting to help in any way that they could, i.e., expediting my appointment and providing helpful suggestions in the meanwhile. Dr. Cohen and her assistant performed the root canal in a professional and efficient manner, all the while, providing me with a comfortable and friendly environment. After the root canal, I was still experiencing pain due to the prolonged about of time I waited to have it corrected and my high sensitivity. Again, concerned with my well being, Dr. Cohen offered to do a second root canal to help alleviate the pain. The second root canal was performed; however, as I later realized, this second root canal was not necessary since the first one she had performed was perfect. I found out an interesting fact, that some people experience sensitivity and pain in a tooth that has undergone a root canal for up to a year after if they have sensitive teeth to begin with. Dr. Cohen and her staff did all that they could to help me in my situation, and for that, I am incredibly greatful! I was scheduled to see Dr. Cohen at W. Seattle Endodontics for a root canal. My pain was getting worse, so I called to get an appointment sooner than the one I had scheduled. The staff was kind and accommodating. On the day of my appointment, I was nearly an hour late, embarrassed and sorry for the inconvenience I was causing, yet Dr. Cohen and her team welcomed me with understanding and compassion. The nurturing and gentle care that they provided help ease my nerves and give me piece of mind. I enjoyed the TV screen above me for the visual distraction and the light conversation between Dr. Cohen and her assistant. The root canal procedure went smoothly, the films of the before and after looked great, and I was given juice and some extra time settle into my surroundings before getting up to leave. When I asked details about the root canal, Dr. Cohen and her assistant spent time to educate me, and I really appreciated this. I was given some things to take home, along with care instructions in case I had any issues or questions. The day after, I received a follow up call from Dr. Cohen, and it was genuine and thoughtful. I don't want another root canal, but I will certainly take one from Dr. Cohen at W. Seattle Endodontics! She does a great job, and it seems effortless. read more

Keep meaning to yelp out this place so I went and got me a yelp. I was referred to Dr. Cohen by a dentist for a root canal about a year ago. I was a first timer and not the most confident dental patient. My imagination runs wild when a stranger has his or her tools in my mouth. And, I watched The Dentist (don't ever watch this movie), but that's a whole different review. Dr. Cohen did an amazing job; I didn't feel a thing and there were no complications. I didn't even need the Vicodin I requested, (and received). She personally called me the next day to check on me, a first in my book. But, the real proof of service came later. Over the past year I have seen three different dentists, due to switching in Seattle and then seeing another when I was on a working vacation (yea, I patient around). All three remarked on the quality of the root canal after looking at the x-rays they had taken. All were extremely positive, like: beautiful, excellent or great. These comments especially but, also my entire experience, are what prompted me to stop being lazy and open a yelp account. Fear hits you ~ your dentist refers you to a endodontist!! Besides having pain, now you have fear, as this is your first time to an endodontist. After talking with a few local friends, other dentist and professionals in West Seattle, I was very confident in being referred to Dr. Cohen & her team. Key word ~ TEAM! From the first call into Dr. Cohen's offices to book a consultive appointment, the front desk greeting, the entire staff and Dr. Cohen put their arms around you with the compassion, professional demeanor. This especially reflects on character of Dr. Cohen and her team. The words " root canal " was very scary and an unknown diagnose for me. Taking pride in having taking care of my dental health, I was taken back by the possiblity of a root canal and the processes. Dr. Cohen and her team answered the MANY questions shared. I was referred to Dr. Cohen by Dr. Isenberg, who is a fabulous dentist, so felt confident that I would be in good hands. "Good hands" does not quite describe the extent of professionalism I encountered with Dr. Cohen. From the moment I sat down in the dreaded chair (I have never been fond of the experience!), every step of the way was explained to me, my fears were put to rest, there was pleasant banter between the doc. and her assistant - I could not have been in better hands, nor in a more pleasant environment. Dr. Cohen really knows her stuff. She made sure, in the gentlest way possible, that I was thoroughly numbed up, and then proceeded to spend the next couple of hours patiently doing a very stubborn root canal. I was informed on how to keep the post-op pain under control. It has been two days since the procedure, and I have yet to feel the slightest twinge in my tooth! You will be in the hands of a master if you go to Dr. Cohen. She is quietly confident, thorough, concerned, empathetic and patient. If you have to get root canal, you will be thankful you went to Dr. Cohen and team. I never write reviews. I had to share my experience this morning because finding a good doctor can be hard and knowing you need a root canal is stressful. I was suffering for months with an infected root but I was in denial. ;) I was SO impressed by Dr. Cohen, her assistant Jessica and Tommy. Tommy was kind, informative, and efficient. He kept track of all our conversations and got back to me straight away on my insurance estimate. I was very impressed. Jessica and Dr. Cohen work well together and you can tell that the office has a great synergy. All well respected by each other which instilled confidence in me, the patient. Dr. Cohen listened to me as I gave my history and then used that information to do a great job. I was never in pain, at all, and it was over in no time. I'm a pretty lucky guy. Not only is my regular dentist first-rate (and the only dentist I've ever really trusted and been 100% comfortable with!) but when I needed a root canal, he referred me to West Seattle Endodontics. I'd say that Dr. Cohen went out of her way to make sure I was comfortable at all times, but I'd be lying, because it was very clear that ensuring I a) was informed about the process and understood it, b) was comfortable and pain-free at all times and c) was doing fine throughout the procedure was simply her nature. Her staff all shared the same goal of making my comfort their #1 priority. That, combined with their personalities and sense of humor, made the experience, dare I say it, almost enjoyable! I had my 1st ever root canal done by my local dentist and was still in pain 7 weeks later. First told "it'll get better soon" to "it's the tooth next to the root canal site that's bothering you now". I had the x-rays sent to West Seattle Endo. In less than 2 hours they told me I needed to come in and have the root canal redone. Scared? Yes. But the pain outweighed the fear by far. Immediately, I was put at ease. The procedure was explained before and as it progressed. The staff was incredibly nice, friendly, courteous and very professional. Dr. Cohen was caring, concerned, as gentle as one could hope for. The consumate professional. I can't say enough good things about the entire experience here. Lessons learned: 1. I was experiencing tooth pain and my dentist sent me to Dr Cohen for treatment. I called West Seattle Endodontics and they scheduled me for a root canal the following morning. Dr Cohen and her staff were wonderful. They took me in with almost no waiting... that was a first. Every person on her staff was friendly, helpful, and efficient. Dr Cohen took her time to make sure I was numb and then went to work on me. I had no pain, no discomfort, they kept me entertained, listening to the doctor banter with her assistant as they worked on me. I was relaxed and comfortable throughout the entire procedure. You might not think a root canal would be something you might choose for a good time, but a visit to Dr, Cohen and her terrific staff almost qualifies. From the moment you phone for an appointment and talk with Tommy, any fears you might have begin to resolve. Dr. Cohen and her wonderful assistant Jamar are delightful people in addition to being totally professional and skillful. The root canal itself was painless and seemed simple. I had a odd and rare reaction related to the original infection and unrelated to their considerable skill. I mention it only because it gave me the opportunity to understand the full depth of their empathy and care. I look forward to seeing them for a "well baby" checkup in six months. Dr. Cohen was amazing! She literally saved my tooth! After having my regular dentist tell me I needed to have the tooth pulled, Dr. Cohen reassured me it could probably (80% chance) be fixed with a root canal "retreatment". As someone with a lifelong dentist phobia, I felt very calm throughout the procedure (the prescribed anti-anxiety med helped, too;). Dr. Cohen and her assistant were so kind, caring, gentle, attentive, thorough, and skilled at their craft. Dr. Cohen asked me what specifically I was worried about and gave me a heads up and explained anything that might make me feel uncomfortable. The numbing process was easy and I felt no pain at any point. The only bummer was that I was still a little numb 12 hours later! She did warn me about that, though. I have a huge dental phobia, but Dr. Rachelle Cohen and her staff turned what was a very scary experience, into one that was relaxing and pain free. Because of some genetic issues, we thought my root canal might have to be done either in a hospital setting, or under IV sedation. I decided to give Dr. Cohen's office a try because of her gentle nature. She, and her staff, made me feel relaxed, from the very beginning. I never felt any of the injections and didn't have to take even a Tylenol following the procedure. The next day I received a call from Dr. Cohen, checking on how I was doing. I'm going back to her in several weeks for yet another root canal, but this time I won't be nervous at all. Many many thanks for great care last week from all the staff. Getting a root canal has never been so good! And for the dental phobic among you, Dr Cohen will ease those fears. She really knows how to relax her patients. I was seen same day as I had a throbbing tooth due to a very angry nerve plus with very limited mouth opening due to TMJ and this was not a problem for her and the nerve was out before I could blink. I did have 6 shots but that part was fine too. No pain during and no more throbby tooth after. I am now a little less dental phobic! If all dentists were like this we would all be rushing in to get our teeth sorted. She even gave me a call the next day to see how I was doing. Great dentist, service, care. Cheers!! read more

Booked me to see them in 20 minutes on a Thursday afternoon when my dentist was not going to be in on Friday, and I would be catching a flight on Monday... That alone rates 5 stars... I never had a root canal before, so they diagnosed it, explained it and did it painlessly for me on the spot shortly after my arrival... One of her great staff sat for 10 minutes AFTER the procedure and showed me all the tools they used and what they did (as I was curious...) Figured after the numbness wore off the pain would start, but woke up this morning (after) and able to eat with LESS pain than before the root canal. I had a root canal procedure performed by Dr. Emily Wang at West Seattle Endodontics. This was a first for me and I was definitely in horrible shape coming through the door. The staff were friendly, professional and helpful. Dr. Wang far exceeded my expectations! Dr.Cohen and her staff provide exceptional care for their patients. I have received two root canals in her office. My 10-year-old son, who had trauma to his two front teeth from a baseball, has also required two root canals. She and her staff are excellent with children as well! She is brilliant, skillful, efficient, and yet takes time to explain procedures and answer all questions thoroughly. Her staff members are very professional. The patient's comfort is a priority. I just had a root canal today, my very first oral "operation". Everyone I talked to implied I was in for a horrible, painful multi-day experience. Dr Cohen has a superb staff, got me comfortable and going right away. No sedation, just locals. As the procedure progressed, I kept thinking, "when the does bad part start?", and then...they were sitting me up and it was already over. Here I am, six hours later, still no discomfort, swelling, anything. And of course, no sedation hang over. I'm kind of shocked and so is everyone who's seen me today. They made everything clear and transparent, from pricing, to the procedure, to what I can expect going forward.
