Finally had a chance to stop by while waiting for my son's baseball game to start at Garfield. Great atmosphere from the moment you walk in and the type of place that feels like home. We happened to just pop in while happy hour was happening. Ordered chicken and waffles, fried mushrooms, mac & cheese, and a root beer float. Everything was delicious. Fried chicken was super crispy...just how I like it. Price was affordable...which is so appreciated. The good music playing was a bonus and made the experience even more enjoyable. Go give this small business Some love and enjoy some good food. We will be back!

Walking in, the place has a really cozy vibe, but it's pretty small. Tables are close together and seating is limited. The lady who greeted us was super nice and recommended the fat sampler and the chicken and waffles, so we went with that. The food did take a little longer than expected, but honestly it was worth it. The chicken on the chicken and waffles was sooo good!! crispy, flavorful, everything you want. The only downside was the waffles, they were a bit thin and not crispy at all, like a pancake. I'm hoping that was just an off day. She also hyped up the honey butter biscuit since it's what they're known for, and I get why. It was SO good. Definitely the standout for me and something I'd come back for alone.

During a recent visit the Manager Cole suggested the South of the border entrée. The couple at the next table were being served this item and the presentation and fantastic odors wafting over just happen to occur at the same moment my fantastic server arrived to take my order. I had already made up my mind what I wanted. I went against my strong convictions to never change an order I I was going to make at a restaurant and on the fly chose the South of the Border Cole recommended. This is a great suggestion. I had the best meal I have ever had here. The staff is friendly which bring out my social side. I have remind mind myself even as friendly as the staff is they have job to do to give the same stellar service to full restaurant of hungry customers. A suggestion to customer when using the hand held point sale device it is easy to hit the wrong prompt and change the review without intending that. I My large thumb did that. My apologies to the staff. This was an over the top breakfast experience. I hope more with seek out this neighborhood gem and have their own amazing experiences

We were pleasantly surprised when we were seated with a smile and friendly service even though they closed in half an hour. I didn't feel rushed, but also didn't want anyone to need to stay late on our behalf. I ordered the Nashville Hot chicken. Temperature wise it was very hot. Spice was pretty mild in my opinion. Waffle was okay. Seemed like everything had been premade and frozen maybe. My daughter had the kids strawberry and whipped cream waffle and it was decent. The service was excellent and the food was okay. I'd probably only go back if I was 5 minutes away and the kid's wanted waffles.
