Great experience every time we visit. And, by 'we' I mean my whole family has been coming here for eye care/checkups for about 10 years and we've never been disappointed. The doctors were so accommodating when we needed a special non-scheduled visit as well. The staff is always very friendly and love those rebates! read more

I went to Dr. Werner as a kid, and recently came back here for follow up appointments after getting lasik surgery at Gordon Schanzlin. I now see Dr. McMurren and she is amazing. She is very friendly and extremely thorough. I will be coming back here for my regular yearly eye appointments even though my insurance covers me elsewhere. I'd gladly pay out of pocket to receive the excellent eye care offered at Werner Optometry. read more

Excellent eye care! Rex is a phenomenal and personable Dr! Been a faithful patient for over 20 years!

Been a patient for around 10 years now. My kids like the atmosphere as much as I do. Thank you to the entire staff. Dr. Rex and Dr. Aaron are great. read more

I was not happy the last time I went in. There was the possibility that my retina was detaching and when I called they immediately booked an appointment, which was good. Yet, when I showed up, the desk person told me this was a medical issue and I should have called my medical provider. Why didn't the two people I talked to over the phone tell me that? I would have never come in if they had. As I was scared about having my retina detach, I went ahead and had the exam (which cost me out-of-pocket) and, when it was over, they called and made an appointment with an ophthalmologist with my vision network as they felt I would need immediate surgery. They ended sending me to my medical provider where it didn't cost a dime. They had dilated both of my eyes and then sent me out into the world without promised sun shades. I had to scramble to get to the other doctor before they closed (a 20 plus mile journey) and I could barely find my way as I was driving into the sun. My complaints: * The front desk staff knew it was a medical issue when I called and should have told me over the phone to call my medical provider and go in as a medical emergency instead of wasting my time and taking my money. * It's not the first time I felt they brought me in just for my money. * They do not specify their costs in advance and don't break down the services in any way that you could say, I'll take this - not that. They give you a dollar "range" and you end up paying the top dollar end of the range, not the lower estimate. Being in a panic about the possibility of my retina detaching as I stood there, I didn't know what else to do but to have them check me over but they should have directed me to my medical provider and not taken my money when I told them up front I was on an extreme budget. At least they pick through your wallet with a smile. * Failed to provide me with eye protection after eye dilation. * They just recently began to provide a lower price range for their glasses but even that is pricey. Of course, I have to have trifocals and everything else under the sun, so their glasses package prices are prohibitive. The staff is friendly but for the $$ edict (presumably to pay for the high tech equipment they have.) As my vision insurance pays well for the exam itself I no longer buy my glasses through them but I will probably find another vision care professional after this last interlude. read more

Dr. Aaron is simply the best. I have a lot of scarring from an old RK surgery that makes it very difficult to fit me into contacts(I'm a very challenging patient). Dr. Aaron has gone above and beyond to help me find contacts to meet my needs. He is always kind, patient and caring and has worked extremely hard to make me happy and correct my vision! Thank you Dr. Aaron. His office staff are exemplary! Kind, knowledgable and prompt. I have never had to wait more than 5 minutes for an appointment. Being an RN, I am equally impressed by the cleanliness of the office. The staff sterilizes all of the equipment, right in front of each patient, every single time! Dr. Aaron and his staff are amazing. I would never trust my eye site to anyone else. THANKS! read more

I've been trusting my eyes to Werner Optometry for about 9 years now, and I recommend them to everyone. Once I moved into the area, I selected them off of a list provided by my eye care insurance provider. I've been happy with that selection ever since. I now live about 30 minutes away and continue to make the drive for my eye appointments because I am convinced I would not be able to find a better office. I've been seen by both Dr. Rex Werner and his son Dr. Aaron Werner. Both are great. They are always pleasant and take all the time necessary to explain everything in an easy to understand manner. I know its probably not true, but I always feel like I am their most important patient. The office staff are also extremely friendly and helpful. I've been wearing glasses/contacts for about 30 years and have had my fair share of experience with optometrists. Hands down, Werner Optometry is the best! read more

I made my first appointment with Werner optometry and I was glad I chose this place over lenscrafters. They were fast, professional, and courteous. They weren't overly salesy when it came to choosing frames. We'll go back to this place. read more

I can imagine anyone anywhere that would take better care of my eyes than these fine folks. From the moment you walk thru their door till you leave you are part of their family. The staff is a 10 star rating and the doctors are also. My family is grateful to Mayra for bringing us to these extraordinary people. 10stars + for all of them. read more

Dr. Aaron is the best. He is just wonderful with my kids. He is very knowledgeable and caring about his patients. The office staff is super as well! The doctor and staff go above and beyond to make sure you have a good experience. I would recommend him to all of my friends. read more

I have been going to see Dr Rex for Almost 5 years now and think that he is the absolute best. He takes time to explain exactly what he does, what he is thinking, and the plan ahead. He is extremely knowledgeable, usually knows what to ask before you ever have to say the problem. He always asks "is there anything I haven't answered for you today". I really do think he is awesome and a great Doc. My wife goes to Dr Aaron, and she thinks he is absolutely great as well. Also, all the office staff are great and very personable! read more

It was clear to me the minute I stepped into Werner Optometry that it was the right place for me. The entire team is Happy and Welcoming all of the time! This says the staff is glad to be there too. I had a procedure for dry eye where little plugs are inserted into the tear duct and never was I nervous. Dr Aaron made me feel safe and comfortable. I live 2 hours away and travel to Rancho San Diego to see Werner Optometry. I recommend this practice to everyone. read more

Everything about Werner Optometry is five star, the doctors are caring and explain each procedure during the exam, I have never had a better understanding concerning the health of my eyes. Every facet of my visit is always a pleasant experience, courteous and friendly attention from beginning to end. My whole family ages seventy five to ten are patents here, a few travel from OC to see Dr's Rex, Aaron & Courtney. Check out their website..Werner Optometry. read more

I would not recommend this Optometry practice. They have all this fancy equipment but after two visits my glasses still don't focus right. I went online and used an old prescription and got better results than I got with these people. They want me to keep coming in so they can keep trying to get it right. I don't have time for that. read more

This was my first visit to Werner Optometry. The staff was very accommodating in answering all of my questions. Tech Natalie, and Dr. Brittany were very thorough with all steps of my exam. Mayra was very helpful with selecting my new lenses and frames. My family will be using Werner Optometry for all their vision needs in the future. read more

I first visited Dr. Rex Werner last year for my first eye doctor visit in about 6 years. The office staff was extremely friendly and explained the process well, from the forms I needed to complete to the eye exams performed by the assistant to the exams performed by the doctor. This was the first time I had the optomap completed as well. Macular Degeneration runs in my family and something I have been concerned about. Dr. Rex spent about 15-20 minutes with me reviewing the pictures that were taken by the optomap, explaining what it all meant and what we will look for in the future. The office staff also helped me pick out my new frames and assisted me with the insurance process as well. I returned just this last week and saw Dr. Aaron Werner. Same great experience and just wanted to share what a great place this is! read more

Dr Werner is fantastic at what he does... not sure how he sees patients with the staff he has. Made appointment 1 year ago and confirmed it with office 1 month ago - when I got to appointment they'd given my appointment away. Just like that.No offer to make it right, nothing. Yes, I lost time and 2 hours of my day for someone to say they'd let me have the appointment (MY appointment!!!) if the next person didn't show up. NO THANK YOU read more

I was referred to Werner Optometry by a top rated Retinologist. I experienced the most thorough exam for glasses I have ever experienced. The staff and Dr. Rex Werner were most impressive professionally and personally. Dr. Rex Werner elected to delay a prescription for lenses until I had seen an ophthalmologist for removal of protein from my implant lenses so that I would get the maximum benefit from new glasses. I consider this to be very professional and ethical. I am pleased to give this professional agency a five star rating and would recommend their services to friends and family. I highly recommend Werner Optometry! Everyone at Werner is welcoming and professional. Dr. Aaron is so great with kids and really makes them feel comfortable and not scared. Brandon always takes time to help us pick out the best glasses and he and Cathy always work with the insurance to get the best price and coverage. They keep up with the newest technology and spend lots of time with each patient. read more

I've been seeing Dr. Rex for two years and I always leave more knowledgeable about eye care.

I returned to Werner Optometry to see Dr. Aaron who had come highly recommended to me initially. I was as impressed as I had been the first time I saw him; he is professional, thoroughly, and compassionate. Charges for the service were outlined clearly in this experience. read more

Had an eye appt recently with Dr. Rex. Excellent, trustworthy, and takes time to explain everything as usual. Best optometrist I've ever seen and I've seen quite a few! Front office and technicians are top notch. read more

I have to update my review and I apologize for not doing it sooner. They definitely went over the top to correct my complaint...They refunded my money for the contact exam and not only emailed me, but sent a nice letter as well apologizing. This was definitely something they didn't have to do, but it was greatly appreciated. I am now scheduled for my yearly eye exam tomorrow and just as I am sure my experience with that will be great just as it was before. I will follow up with a review, thanks again for being so attentive to the situation. I went here when it was recommended by a co-worker. The service when I was finally able to get an appointment (they have hours that just aren't very conducive for a 9-5 job), Dr. Werner was awesome. The staff that helps you pick a frame was a little pushy in trying to get you to buy more expensive frames - but I guess that could be said for any business. I paid extra for a contact exam and followed up a week later to get the trial contacts and he forgot to order them - I then told him I would be out of the country for two weeks and wouldn't have access to my phone. He said okay don't worry about it. I followed up when I returned with a voicemail and I never heard from them again until now. They want me to come in for my yearly eye exam...when I called to ask why I was getting appt reminders they said oh looks like we made the appt last year when you were here - I brought up never receiving even my trial contacts and was basically told oh well we cant do anything about it...Umm you could give me a discount on the 100 exam that I paid for....I will be going some place else from now on with better hours and a staff that follows up efficiently. read more
