I'd never been to a Wendy's before and this one had just opened up recently. After hearing about the hilarious shade Wendy's Twitter account throws on other competitors, I thought I would go in and see what the fuss was all about. I had some preconceived notions about how it would look inside and how the food would taste but those were both shattered. I'm not sure if all Wendy's look like this inside, but it was much fancier than I would have imagined, with an indoor seating area next to a fireplace (!!), large screen TV showing a ballgame, high rise counter with barstool type seating, and the usual booths. There were also plenty of tables outside for sitting-in-the-breeze-or-sun conditions. Foodwise, I got an order of large french fries, a baked potato with chives + cheese sauce, along with a junior swirled frosty. Typical comfort fast food, but everything tasted pleasant and all I was out was six bucks and some change. The parking situation is easy with a large lot and there is a drive thru for those that need it. Service was super nice, I mean like extremely nice. I'm unable to review this restaurant on their food, nor their service, because we've never been able to eat there. We work an annual event, and look for things on our way home to grab a bite. Sunday 05/05/24 was the second time we visited this location. It is also the second time we have walked up to locked doors. I had made sure to look it up online to check the hours before we exited the freeway. It was only 8 o'clock. We double checked the hours on the door and they should have been open until 10pm. We were not interested in a drive-thru since it limits what can be ordered (some things are harder to eat driving than others). Went to grab food for my friends and I. I normally check the bag but i was by myself and wanted to get home. As soon as I get home I realize they forgot 3 burgers and a chicken sandwich. We got only the sides and one cheese burger that's it. I went back and showed the guy who gave me my food the receipt and I told him I'm missing four items and he said so only three. Our family has visited this Wendy's since it opened every couple of weeks. We typically order the same thing every time ...Three Dave singles, no ketchup no mustard no mayo no cheese with three fries. It's $30 every time. Today we drove through and I was charged $36.34. I asked the girl at the window if the price had gone up and she said yes. I said wow $36.34 for three Dave's single burgers and three fries! If you order the 2 for $5 special, this location made the error of ringing the items up at 4.79 each, not 2 for $5 as advertised. The service here is fast, but it's filled with errors, along with overcharging. The cashier was young, and seemed to be pressed by the manager. I like this Wendy's. The store is clean, the staff is friendly, and food is fresh. Not to mention the food comes out fast! I like that they accept coupons even if they are expired. Most Wendy's do except the few where the employees find it as too much work to accept them and don't want to be bothered with them. This particular Wendy's was a home run though. This place is awesome opened about a month ago I'd say, and I've been in here back and forth. Where should I start off. I'm very picky about places I go to eat and very demanding when it comes to my food. I like dining in a calm and clean area. The dining room is always well maintained, there is always lids and salt and pepper and everything you need if your on the go. Not to mention staff here is very pleasing. Have not had one complaint about this place. Have had my order taken by most of the managers and they are all quite the exception and professional. I'm a regular so I can say this place does get busy especially in the afternoon. I've had employees take my food to my table and offer extra things I didn't know I needed like sour cream butter and chili sauce. I can say this is my go to store considering I'm 5 minutes away! Worst Wendy's I have ever been to. Customer service is subpar and quite frankly rude and incompetent. I have been here at least a dozen times and almost every time they managed to screw up my order. Today was no exception, I'm in the drive thu and I order my food and pull up to the window to pay and get my food. I'm double checking to make sure my order is right and I end up finding an error. One of the burgers I ordered was supposed to be a double and I received a single. I get the drive thru attendants attention and politely ask to remake the burger, and I'm met with a snarky attitude from the attendant whose name is Evelyn. She refuses to have the burger remade and instead compensates with a 50 cent kiddie frosty on a 10 dollar burger! Saying that's all she can do. So I call for the manager and instead they send someone else who isn't the manager who proceeds to keep running to the back to talk to the manager. I end up getting a refund after I hear multiple people including the manager talking behind my back in spanish( I understand and speak spanish very well) calling me names and all sorts of other crap. I end up leaving all my food there including the frosty. But as I'm pulling away from the drive thru window I hear a distinct thud like something hit my car. I take a look and THERE IS FROSTY ALL OVER THE SIDE OF MY CAR!! AS I CONTINUE PULLING AROUND I SEE EVELYN LAUGHUING AT ME THROUGH THE WINDOW!!!! THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE CUSTOMER SERVICE WHEN YOU PAY $30 FOR 2 BURGERS AND FRIES, NOT EVEN WITH DRINKS!!! I ended up going to Mooyah burgers, which is a premium burger joint in upland and paid a little more for 2 triple patty diablos (spicy burger with jalapenos, bacon, pepperjack cheese and onion strings), shareable sweet potato fires, and drinks!!! This is what I got for the Italian mozzarella chicken sandwich from this location if you have had this sandwich before you know this is far from the real sandwich and it was all beat up and broken like this. Also they charged me for the mozzarella burger which is more! I drove all the way back and showed them what they gave me and asked for a full refund of the meal but since I didn't bring the rest of the meal back she only refund me for the sandwich also the wrong sandwich I was charged! no apology no making it right worst customer service and even worse food the rest of my order was like this and cold so I threw everything away what a waste of time and money stay away from this Wendy's on baseline in upland!
