I had some idea of colors I wanted, but Josie came in with hundreds of swatches, and had such amazing ideas that I ended up going with many of her choices. The whole thing felt like a cool collaboration. For the cabinets, I really didn't know what to do to make them look more modern. She suggested a milky white. She has a technique that I can't remember the name for, but turned out amazing. She also suggested the type of drawer and cabinet pulls that I should shop for. Everything looks great. She also gave advice like saying we needed to paint the ceilings because of the colors we chose, but the doors were in good enough shape to leave alone.

The first drawing of the kitchen and our dining area contained multiple incorrect measurements. One of which somehow added 6 feet onto our house, rendering her drawing of our kitchen remodel with an island not even physically possible. While this certainly gave us pause, we remeasured for her and sent the corrections. Getting a revised drawing based on correct measurements after that was cumbersome. All along, communication, engagement and follow up on Heather's part was difficult at best requiring multiple emails or texts on my part to get a response. It's never a good feeling when you feel like you have to harass someone in order to get answers to questions so you can move forward on your end of things. Despite our financial loss of $1,800, we have taken our business elsewhere.

I wanted a bright and bold house 5 years ago. Robin was energetic, and excited to work on picking the colors out. I told her some of my ideas for a bright pop of orange, etc. She ran with my ideas well initially. But as we got into the main living/kitchen areas, I wanted the tone to be more muted, and wanted to opt for something more pastel or neutral. At this point is where my experience with Room Fu went wrong. I was goaded with the words "I thought you wanted to be fun and bold", and ended up picking colors I would be irked by. A purple kitchen next to a golden wall, a concrete colored half wall, and an avocado green hallway. Anywhere I stood in the house, I was looking at at least five colors. We didn't enjoy it at all. There was no place to escape the loud colors and create a tranquil corner, something I had hoped the kitchen/breakfast area would be. It was an over-the-top version of what I had wanted. End of last year, we finally painted the house an all-over neutral, and MAN I was so happy. It finally stopped looking like a clown house. I've done a good bit of remodel/redecorating since then, and never once has anyone else tried to push me so far beyond my tastes. They all realize it is my home, and ultimately I have to love it, no matter whether that makes me "fun and bold" or not.

I interviewed a few others first but felt I was being buttered up to a sale rather than given real answers and advise. Jessica arrived at my home on time. Jessica has worn many hats for me, acting as an architect, a designer and manager. I came to her with an end vision and no idea how to get there. I just knew how I wanted the space to "feel." She's executed everything from the floor plans, to electrical, to the chairs and pillows better than I could of ever done on my own. She's also been a huge help in helping me understand city codes (uugghhhh) and is helping me stay ahead of them. Her attention to detail far surpasses my expectations. Their response time is fast, this matters when dealing with commercial build out I am learning, and their attentiveness has made me feel like I am their only client.
