My gorgeous shag pile loved by me and my dog

I've bought several carpet pieces from Magic Caravan over the years. And I love each of them still. Each has its history and story and Huseyin is an expert in antique carpets. He also happens to be fantastic company and makes superb coffee ! They also have gorgeous towels and bathrobes that have lasted me an age. They've made lovely gifts as well. Waking through that shop is like being transported in time to another land. Highly recommend a visit and a coffee ! And if you do what a carpet - absolutely buy from here. You won't be disappointed.

This place is truly magic. Huseyin has a spectacular eye for quality and a real belief in his products (he will buy back anything that you chose from his store) - we have friends that buy from him personally and wholesale for their stores elsewhere (he has a reputation that extends far beyond the consumer retail market). Come on a small budget for beautiful Turkish bath towels and ceramics or a bigger one for true investment pieces. If you are looking for low cost ground cover this place is not for you -but rugs with history and story and real craftsmanship are hard to find in the USA and worth the outlay (for me). Afshar toZakatala via kilim and Isfahan - these guys have got you. Get to know them, chat, love, decide what you're willing to pay and stick to your guns - if you're just browsing / working out what's for you, then come and spend and afternoon chatting to the owner or one of his brilliant assistants about what they have to offer. Always ALWAYS time well spent!

A new gem of crafts and artisanal goods in the booming Burnet Corridor. Got wind of this new shop opening this week, and as a fan of most things Turkish I was intrigued. Located in the small house that once housed Barbecue Mercantile, (just South of Billy's on Burnet, but on the East side of Burnet, next to Sonic) the transformation could not be more complete. The cute little shop is filled with handmade Turkish crafts, textiles, ceramics and beautiful carpets. Smiling proprietor Huseyin has brought his favorite ceramic pieces, mosaics, tiles and rugs direct from Turkey and the care taken in the selection really shows. Prices are moderate for the most part, and the range is extensive. If you are shopping for a unique gift, a special accent for your home, or especially a handwoven rug, this is the place to stop in.

If you're looking for something unique, this is the place!

Beautiful handmade pottery, colorful rugs, and so many other Turkish items! There's so much to see and too many items to mention. I was looking for a unique gift item and I found what I needed! I will definitely go back to get something for myself! I especially loved the handmade pottery. This is a great and unique store.

LOVE my beautiful magic carpet. The variety & quality here is the best I've seen. Stunning gifts too and a warm, helpful staff.

This is the best place to learn about carpets, walk on them with bare feet, be awed by their beauty and craftsmanship, and find the perfect one for you and your space. Tribal rugs, kilims, Balouch rugs, and much more.

High quality, handmade silk. GORGEOUS!

I have loved Parachute from afar for many years. I moved to Austin at the end of October, and as I…read morewas walking down South Congress I spotted the store. Every single thing I love from Eeyore to Parachute is in this city. I purchased a home (still in the process of being built), and I decided to go ahead to Parachute and buy all the bedding I'd need for my future master bedroom during the Memorial Day sale. I went to the store to check out the colors and feel all the different materials. Typically, I had been a sateen buyer, but I figured in Austin I should reevaluate and try the percale. I was shocked by how soft the percale was. It also had the most (neutral, because everything at Parachute is pretty neutral) color options. I had a few questions about both combining colors and the different materials (I also wanted a quilt), and they were super knowledgeable and helpful. I really can't recommend Parachute enough. I've also tried Brooklinen, and while it's a great choice, I think Parachute is worth the extra $$$, especially if you have trouble sleeping like I do.

My wife and I spent a thousand dollars on new bedding. Only two years after purchase, buttons…read morestarted falling out of duvet covers, internal ties fell off, and we had holes in the blankets. When we asked the manager in the store if anything could be done to help, she said "sorry you should expect these things to happen to your bedding after 2 years." What a joke. You've been warned, stay away and purchase better quality for FAR LESS on Amazon.
