Brittney is the best stylist I've ever worked with -- I have curly hair and she proposed a style that worked best for my preferences, and she remembers it each time. She occasionally proposes slight changes and product choices that have always improved my look and my comfort level -- and she takes great notes on what works well for me, so that if I need to see another stylist on short notice, they're able to pick up where she left off. Like all places it really depends on who you get. The first visit with Meltiza was great and the reason I returned. But the second time I went in for a beard trim(I got someone else) I left with a chin strap. I wasn't listened to at all on what I wanted. She waxed my ears without asking to upcharge me. There are good barbers for men's haircut. Not a good place for ladies' haircut. I visited the Redmond shop. And there is only one person handling women's haircut (I believe). I had simple requirements - shorter, clean cut with no layer for my haircut and she added her own customization with layers. And the communication during the time gives me no interest of talking to her after even just a couple of topics. Pretty judgmental. I don't want to specify what she talked about, but i would rather a quiet haircut experience with addressing the requirement accurately. Other small things - 1. Asking for my phone to take photos of my hair after I only asked for a mirror. Why would people be comfortable giving you their phones, when they don't even know you? 2. Saying she cut a lot of my hair and her arms are even sore after she's done. I guess it's my fault, huh? 3. I wanted a natural look, no hair styling after the haircut, so that I can see what goes right and wrong, but she used the hair dryer to style it - of course it's gonna look better and hide some issues. So it's a good place to go, if you are looking for a man's haircut. But I would recommend find another place if you are looking for a lady's haircut, or at least another barber. read more

Great service, but significantly overpriced IMO. This place is slightly hard to find since they are on the backside of the Whole Foods strip mall. I liked the stylist who did my hair, she did a great job and the interior was comfortable and modern looking. My reason for dinging them a star is that I don't feel you should have to pay $50+ for a men's haircut (especially since I'm bald on top). I can get this same level of service at a variety of places for about $25. read more

I don't know about the rest of the barbers there but the one I experienced was sub par to any place I had ever been before. I also wasn't informed of what my haircut would ACTUALLY cost until I was rung up at the resister and had to pay an additional 20 dollars then for the appointment I booked. That being said the haircut SUCKED. I'd give it a half star if I could, how in the world could a barber let you walk out looking like this. I booked an appointment for kids hair cut which was for $46 bit they charged me $117 saying that head barber cut my son's hair.I wasn't notified this prior and completely taken by surprise. Took my appointment as well for hair cut but they said that they don't have time for my haircut. This is a huge SCAM and I will NOT recommend anyone to go to Weldon. My first experience of Weldon Barber could have been 'not good' but the customer service by Redmond location made it Great. I am rating them as Good, a bit below because the Signature Haircut I got was overpriced at $52. I had an appointment at the Sammamish branch, which was cancelled 30 min with no warning. I called up the branch to be told that they had only one hair stylist show up that day with others calling in sick. They offered me to come later in the day but I opted out. The Redmond location saved the day. When I called and told about my situation, the lady answering the line called back after finding an empty available slot at the same time I had booked in Sammamish. Tramle, the hair stylist, was very good - taking extra care to understand my preferences and providing recommendations. My hair is short and so it was not a complex cut but she took extra care to blend in all around with areas where hair is receding. Great service overall but slightly high in pricing. And looks like an online appointment may not guarantee you a spot. I will return. read more

The first time I had an appointment here, I waited over 45 minutes AFTER my scheduled time before my cut started with Nate. While the cut itself turned out alright, Nate barely even asked what I wanted before he changed how my hair parts and began cutting based on that new part. I'd expect a lot more consultation with the customer before just redefining the shape of their head like that. Second time, I had been waiting 45 minutes (again, 45 minutes AFTER my appointment time) when Nate's appointment started...for the person BEFORE me, who had already been waiting an hour. So I was looking at nearly a two hour wait before my appointment would even begin. If it only happened once, I'd overlook it as a fluke. Twice in a row, months apart, feels like consistency and the person before me also got screwed over by at least an hour. My time is more valuable than this, and I won't be returning to this location again. read more

Asked what their time policy was, in case I was a few minutes late (rush hour appt.) Was told it's 10 minutes after. Got there at 5:39 for a 5:30 appt, and was told they couldn't take me because I was "more than 10 minutes late." Showed them the time on my cell: still 5:39PM. Said they couldn't take me because they "needed 30 minutes for a haircut." Talk about terrible customer service. If you're going to lie twice about your policies, once over the phone and once to my face, don't have the gall to move the goalposts after I prove you're wrong. By their logic, if you're one minute late they'll cancel your appointment since "they need the full 30 minutes" for a simple men's haircut. Thanks, but I'll go to Rudy's or Rooster's instead. Didn't even offer to reschedule or take a later appointment. EDIT: Thank you Weldon for responding to my complaint and addressing it with your staff. I went in for the first time, and showed a picture of myself after a previous haircut at the place I used to go before moving. In that picture, I had several inches of styled hair. I left with essentially a buzz cut. 70% of my hair is the same length, which is under 1/8th of an inch. The rest is about half an inch. This is no where close to what I wanted, but once it started, there was no saving it. The first move was buzzing the side of my head behind my ear. One swift motion up my neck, and a quarter of my head was buzzed. I kept hoping that maybe it'll turn out better than I think. They must know what they are doing. Or at the very least, I can deal with the sides being buzzed if the top is styled nicely. While the top of my head wasn't buzzed, it was somehow trimmed to be just about as short. I couldn't tell how it was going to turn out while wet, but it doesn't resemble the picture shown. Every time I see myself in a mirror, or touch my head, I'm saddened. Luckily it's hair, and will grow back, but I will never return to have it cut here. read more

What really needs to be rated here is stylists - not the place. Giving 1 star unfortunately - would have given 5 when Nate was there, but he is no longer working there. So, I tried Alex today, and it was a big disaster - not only because of the incomplete haircut he gave me, but also because of denial of my directions. I have never seen a stylist refuse some simple requests and send the customer home without a simple adjustment that the customer is asking for. To start with, I told Alex at the beginning that I don't want any water on my head - I always do dry haircuts. Yet, in the middle of the haircut he said "I do my haircuts with water". When I insisted that I don't want water, he said the haircut would be either with water, or "imprecise", thus, forcing me to accept water spray on my head. My argument that I have been doing it without water for decades, including many years at this place with Nate, did not help. At the end I asked to make it a bit shorter on the back and on the sides. He shortened on the back, but refused to do it on the sides, saying there is no time left, since touching sides would require redoing the whole head, and he can do that when I come "next time" on my next haircut. I asked repeatedly, and repeatedly received the same answer. Thus, I had to leave with an incomplete, basically partial haircut, with excessively long sides. So, I called over the phone, and convinced Gina to fix my haircut the next day - now I have to come back tomorrow, expose myself to COVID again, to get my haircut finished. To make things worse, Gina, while agreeing to help, also claimed that "Signature Clean Up" does not include the top of the head, which I know is not true, since I have been doing "Signature Clean Up" with Nate for years. Basically, they don't know what some of their services include - Nate was the senior stylist, and he would usually correct them, but he is not there anymore. This was a very trivial haircut, and these refusals, one to not use water and the other to touch sides, was a terrible and inappropriate customer experience - a customer should not leave when there is work left to be done, and knowing that he/she will have to come back. read more

She knows what I want, does a fantastic job, and I always leave happy. She also intuitive enough to know when I want to make conversation or when I need some time to simply relax after a long day. Was skeptical to come in because I figured they were justifying the price with the atmosphere rather than the quality of the cut itself. Boy, was I happy to be wrong about this place. After all my coworkers suggested I come here after I fumbled around for a year in the east side trying to find a decent barber (I had one at EZ chair barbershop but he left and everyone else there couldn't speak English very well and they were really hit or miss). Some folks recommended Nate, so I scheduled on mine and took the plunge. The experience is top notch. Yes, the atmosphere is great, but honestly I don't care too much about that. I've been to plenty of places that put on a pretty face but then when it comes to the haircut, they butcher you. Not so, here. Nate is an artist. He took time to listen to my wants, asked me what challenges I was having styling my hair and what my at-home routine was, and gave me recommendations for both cutting and styling my hair. It's been a game changer. Never before have I had a barber tell me I was styling my hair in a suboptimal direction in relation to where my hair was growing. Nate immediately suggested I make the change and cut accordingly. Nate then recommended I use a pre-styler before blow drying to get the hold and feel I was looking for. Above all, Nate took painstaking detail cutting my hair and looking over everything to make sure everything was even. I'm happy I came in, and will definitely be coming back. read more

This is a review only of Becci's professional skills and not of Weldon. Becci recently moved to Redmond much to my and our son's dismay, and I am sure that of her many other loyal clients here. But our loss is your gain. Becci was always thoughtful, skilled, remembered my style, and personal. She always listened to my hair ideas and made good sense and reliable recommendations. It is hard enough to find a good hair dresser given the selection of establishments there are. I had been going to the same hair dresser for 15 years and, after moving, it just got too far away. I lucked into finding Weldon while shopping in the local area. I scheduled some time with Kali and I have to say that I am impressed. I often get the signature services and she does a fabulous job of taking care of me. Besides getting a great hair cut, Kali is a great conversationalist and the witty banter is non-stop. read more
