When I made my appointment I asked if they did gel fills for nails and how much - the answer was yes, and $23. Great price, closer to my house then my regular nail place which charges $35 for a fill ($45 for a full set), so I gave it a shot.
I got there early but still had to wait 10 min after my appointment time started. I figured they were running a little behind, it happens, so i shrugged it off. When I finally was seen, the lady was very sweet, but i could barely understand her accent. Then after I picked my color and she started removing my old gel nail color she asked me what I wanted to do - they didn't write that down when I called? Ok, so I told her I wanted a touch up to fill the growth gap in my gel nails. Then she said they don't do that. That was the entire reason i made the appointment. She said they did a different type of something... sorry she was really hard to understand. But she said the kind they had didn't last as long as the type I had done. "Well that explains the low price" I thought.
I let her continue but then another lady took over, while the nice girl went to another client. The woman I got next (Dina) was pretty unpleasant. I tried to make conversation, but she didn't talk much at all, wasn't very personable, and seemed annoyed when I told her I wanted my left index nail shorter, as she insisted they were even (they weren't). She seemed pretty focused on her work, though I could tell she was rushing (probably due to the late start), which I don't care so long as the end result is good. Not chatting gave me more time to look around the place, and I noticed it really wasn't that clean. On the surface when I walked in it seemed clean, but looking closer, you could see the dust and grime. I'm a makeup artist and I'm a stickler for a clean station, and by beauty school standards, this was not clean. Before the color went on I was told to go wash my hands and nails in the sink and scrub and to make sure I do a good job of it. This was new, every other nail place I had been to did that part for me. It was odd but I'm not some 'miss priss' who is too good to do it herself, so i got up and washed, and chalked it up to being why the price was so good.
When the lady's next appointment walked in the door, she rushed doing my right hand and didn't even enough time for the color to cure in the LED light, so of course it chipped not long after I left. Maybe if my nail tech let some one else answer the phone (twice) and started on time, or even booked the appointments more then a few min apart, she would have had more time. The end result was pretty 'meh'.
When I was done she just got up and walked away, didn't even say anything. I went to the counter to pay but was left waiting, while she cleaned her station for the next appointment. I went to get my coat while i waited and then she was at that register faster then ever, perhaps thinking I would walk out without paying.
She punched in a few numbers on the calculator and put it on the counter, no eye contact, "You pay this much" she said,. And it was $42 freaking dollars! What the heck!?!? I'm left to wait because they are behind schedule, then rushed at the end because they are still late, then made to wait again to pay, and the price was almost as much as a full set at my regular place! Not only that but they told me it would be $23, and i KNOW I didn't mishear that. I was too mad to say anything, I paid and left as fast as I could.
I knew the price was too good to be true, but for $42 dollars I would expect the quality gel, time taken for quality work, and to be pampered a bit and not have to wash my own nails.
Will not be going back.
------ TL:DR -------

Miscommunication about what I wanted done,
Some staff very hard to understand,
Chipped polish soon after (gel fill, color change),
Not the cleanest,
Had to scrub my own nails,
