WOW! Just Wow. The establishment rings local. Come in and sit a spell. The steak. OMG! Had the rib steak and it was seasoned and cooked to perfection. This should shame every steakhouse, and I've been to some fancy ones and paid big, big bucks. The portions were more than ample. Baked potato steaming hot, crisp coat and fluffy inside. I passed on the salad but asked for a Smith & Currans to drink, which historically most bars don't have a clue. That too was made to perfection and served in a generous glass. Got out for $42 and ample left overs. Why this place isn't on the chamber of commerce as a go to is beyond me. For now...it's my secret. read more

Wife and I decided to go to the famous Welcome Inn, we've been hearing about this place for 7 yrs and decided to give the Prime Rib Dinner a try. Oct-7-25 Make reservations the day before! The wife got an end cut, I got the big cut, it came with a small dinner salad, baked potato and green beans. Our meal was perfectly cooked medium rare. Potatoes were perfect and saturated in butter, salad was good, fresh and plentiful, green beans seemed to be frozen with very little to no flavors., however I just dumped the excessive butter from the potato onto the beans, salt pepper, all good! Staff was friendly, service was a bit slow, we were close to the first ones at a table 15 min early, tickets got messed up, so there was a delay as others that showed up after us started getting served, but hey... what are gonna do.?! Parking in back, plenty of other food to order if you didn't want the prime rib. Atmosphere is basically a bar, old eclectic feel, like you're out in the country and you come across an old local bar. Outdated, dark, not many seats but that's the charm of it. We had a great experience, with minor inconveniences, no biggie! I would recommend it, prime Rib was awesome! Probably more of an adults night out, doesn't seem to be largely family oriented. I got so excited when the food came I forgot to take pics however, I did snap some current menu pictures. Food is not up to the hype. Medium rare steak is raw and poor cut absolutely not a prime cut of beef. Baked potato was old baked the day before. No salad with dinner. Expected much better for the price. Gizzard dinner fed to dogs. Hamburger was ok nothing to brag about. Total 125.00 dollars . Never again. read more

This is THE place for prime rib! Make very sure you call, in the morning or the day before so she knows how much to buy. It is reasonably priced and the bar is just big enough to earn the adjective, funky! Being out of towners, we didn't know to order ahead and showed up to find out we were one order too late for prime rib. To which a lovely woman at the next table said, give her mine, I live here. Well, since only one of our party was having the prime rib, they were able to find another slice for the nice lady, too. You just aren't going to get that kind of neighborliness in a city! We love that this place is just down the street from us. The food is pretty good and you get generous helpings. They have a full bar and several brews on tap. The atmosphere is what is lacking. It's very dark and the heat is always on so it get really hot in there. I hear that they have the best prime rib in the area but we haven't been able to get there on a Wednesday or Friday to check it out. read more

Very quaint little bar with friendly hard working people. The owner came around to every table serving the prime and all the staff were very pleasant and considerate. The prime was absolutely perfect. I saw that some people complained about small things like the sour cream in a package(which I prefer as it's easier to spread) and the service being slow, which is just plain silly. When 25 people sit down at 5pm all for the same dish, it's gonna take a minute. Anyhow, we loved everything about the spot and will be back soon. My husband and I have been seeing this place online for awhile now. We always complain in Aberdeen, it's either Italian, Mexican or Chinese. Its just gets old having to pick between those. Dont get me wrong we do those establishments too, but sometimes you just crave a good steak or prime! We finally made it in last Friday night. Our bartender was Brittany and she was great. Very friendly! We got the last of the prime and even called to make sure there was going to be some left. My husband and I both ordered a piece with corn and baked potato. We also got a side salad with blue cheese. The prime rib was seasoned to perfection! I've never had the seasonings Kevin ( the owner and cook) put on it. So tasty! All of it. The food was great and we now have just what we've been looking for on the harbor! Kevin came out to meet us and introduce himself as well. So on our way to Ocean Shores for a fantastic birthday vacation weekend we stopped in at this little small town bar for a bite to eat. We heard about the prime rib and I was so excited to try it and unfortunately it sold out a few hours before, so next time I'm so getting there before it does. We'll we decided on their other awesome special and that was their 2lb seafood platter and OMG was I impressed; 2lbs of fried oyster, clams, fish and squid all served up on the best double fried fries I've ever had. This was the perfect birthday dinner for my boo and I'm so happy to find this place. I wish there was better seating outside and we had to move inside due to it getting kinda cold out. I am posting this under my husband's name because I do not have my own Facebook account. While purchasing meat at Michael's Meat Shack in Aberdeen last week, we noticed a "Seniors Sunset Times" paper on the counter, featuring a woman holding an extraordinary looking plate of prime rib with a baked potato and veggies. The ad was for a restaurant/bar in Hoquiam called, The Welcome Inn." We've heard people mention this establishment over the years and always in a very positive light, rendering high praise to the top-drawer prime rib dinners offered there. Inasmuch as just the photo ad made my mouth water, I phoned The Welcome Inn and made reservations for Friday, July 2nd at 6:00 pm. We invited our good friends, Doug and Ginger, to go along with us for what promised to be an incredible dining experience. We arrived at 5:45 PM, and the waitress immediately offered to take our drink orders. It was another 25 minutes thereafter before another waitress came up to take our dinner orders. Doug and Ginger opted not to try the prime rib, and instead ordered the cheeseburger and fries dinner. Doug specifically requested Swiss cheese on his burger and Ginger specifically requested no tomatoes on hers. My husband and I both ordered the 24 ounce prime rib dinner with baked potatoes and we also ordered the 1/2 lb shrimp for an additional $6.99 each. Note that by the time we ordered our food, it was 6:15PM. When we had finished our initial drinks, the gentleman each ordered another beer and Ginger and I each ordered a Pepsi. At 7:15 PM, a full hour after ordering, Doug and Ginger received their cheeseburger plates. Doug's cheeseburger had regular American cheese on it instead of the Swiss cheese he had requested. Ginger's cheeseburger was loaded with tomatoes and the French fries on their plates were so overdone that they were dark brown. At 7:30 PM, when Doug and Ginger were nearly finished with their meals... half of the inedible French fries still on their plates notwithstanding, my husband and I finally received our prime rib dinners. The prime rib was rare, which is precisely the way we like it, and it was well seasoned, but the baked potatoes were only about 3/4's of the way done and the accompanying vegetable turned out to be nothing more than canned corn with a brown hue to it. The sides of shrimp we ordered we're perfectly prepared and very tasty. I wouldn't have minded waiting an hour and a half for my meal, had we just walked in off the street, nor would I have minded waiting for it if it had been the most extraordinary prime rib dinner I've ever had. In truth however, the prime rib was no better than any prime rib I've ever had anywhere else, but the abysmal corn and a partially baked potato made the entire experience one that I will definitely not repeat, nor can I in good conscience ever recommend dinner at The Welcome Inn to anyone that I actually like. The bill for our drinks, the two prime rib dinners and the shrimp sides was well over $100.00. I have heard other people render high praise of this establishment and perhaps they were just having a really off night that night...but I'm darn sure not going to spend another hundred dollars to find out. My husband and I were the only two people here and despite the very unwelcoming sign out front, we ventured inside as he had been longing for prime rib and this place is known for theirs. The food deserves three stars, the prime rib was well flavored even though it was a little well-done for our tastes, the potatoes were perfect and the corn... interesting. I didn't like my salad as it seemed to have been pre-made and sitting around for a while (the veggies on the bottom were blackening) and the dressing didn't taste like I imagined Roquefort would. The service was, initially, swift and we were enjoying the food until a group of 6-ish people came in. They were friendly with the bartender so I assume they are known to him and while ordering they were making jokes about KKK meetings at a boat launch. My husband of European descent was obviously discomfited and when the waiter passed by, he asked for a box. I got up and went to the bathroom and on my way back to our seats I noticed a life-size cutout of Donald Trump wearing a t-shirt with a misogynistic message about Hillary Clinton, Monica Lewinsky and their respective aptitudes at fellatio. On the other side of the room was a Confederate Battle Flag. I was not at all shocked as I had just heard customers making light of the KKK in the presence of an oblivious waiter who I later found out was the owner. I took my seat and my husband had still not received a box. The gentleman passed again and he was asked for the bill and we had to wait quite some time to get it. My husband suggested that we leave but I wasn't about to incite any argument in a place that was clearly hostile to me. We finally paid and left. I was not going to leave a review and I didn't feel safe talking to the bartender as he obviously thought the KKK was a matter for levity. I am leaving this review because in a private message, I recounted the experience to a friend who shared it on her personal page. She did not share the name of the establishment yet several persons instantly knew it had to be the Welcome Inn and did not have much good to say about the place. So they decided that they would leave reviews here, and the responses to these reviews have been very disheartening. There was a lot of abuse, denial and misogynistic intimidation, including in private messages and on personal pages so I am just clarifying that I am the patron being spoken of, and these events really did take place. I really wish people would stop trying to defend their hateful symbols and behavior; I always try to leave prejudiced people alone but they should be able to own up to their true opinions and live with the consequences. read more

My hubby & I stop here on our way to the beach each week. We have always had a great meal, a cold beverage and friendly conversation. That is until recently. New owner has changed the place and not for the better. Last few times we have stopped in service has been slow and not friendly. Nothing to make you feel "welcome". The food has changed considerably. Again, based on several visits, they clearly do not read their own menu. No matter what we ordered the food came out not made the way it states in the menu. The menu lists what will be on each sandwich/burger and that is what I expect. Not the case here. It could include some or none of the listed items. I would expect them to know their menu and what each item should include. I hope this can be corrected for future patrons! read more

We went in on Friday nite to get the prime rib. They informed us that since we didn't have a "reservation" we couldn't get the prime rib- they were all out. Ok- so we ordered chicken fingers and the shrimp plate. It took quite a long time, and the fries were burnt. Then another couple comes in and asks for the prime rib- not 20 minutes later and low and behold they were able to get the prime rib!!! The waitress made up a lame excuse saying the previous reservation was under 2 different names, so they had "extra". We didn't order alcohol- did that make a difference? Who knows. Having never been there before we found the small biker bar with out issue. We hesitantly went inside the other patrons were loud and swore lots. I though what the heck I have a certificate I have purchased. So we ordered 2 beers and 2 prime rib dinners. The dinners were good and fast. However when it came to paying the bill. The hostess refused my resterants.com certificate that I had purchased earlier that day. The hostess said if I had a problem I could take it up with the owner he will be back in a week. Loved it! Amazingly GOOOD FOOD and pretty awesome owners. My husband and I walked in, were greated by the owner and invited to sit at the bar. After the disappointing news that they were already sold out of prime rib (it was 8 o'clock and it's apparently normal for them to sell out early so go as close to 5pm if that's what you're going for: Wednesday's & Friday's) he told me I should give the rib steak a shot instead. I ordered the rib steak and hubby ordered the chicken strips basket. We were not disappointed. Tender, juicy and expertly flavored, I can only imagine how awesome the prime rib would have been. My steak was accompanied by a baked potato (also really good, baked and a slight crispy to the skin but still tender), some veggies and a salad. It was also fun talking with the owners. He is the cook/meat chef and she was our waitress. Both great people & friendly. It's funny because when I found the restaurant on Yelp! I read his review and he mentioned "cheers-like atmosphere" this was totally on point. Think we will have to go back next time we are traveling through Aberdeen!!! I only wish we were closer than a 2 hour drive, I could see hanging out here. They seem to not be able to decide on whether they want to be a bar or a restaurant. If you try to talk to someone across the bar when they are having dinner, keep your voice very low, or they will tell you to leave without warning. Very different than other nights. It is a very small bar, but it seems they can put up a partition or something to fix this issue instead of confusing loyal customers. It has made many people around town not want to patron them. I will take my business where they use quality ingredients and can cater to diversity. read more

Great menu and great food! Had the mushroom Swiss bacon burger with beer-battered fries. Deeelicious. My wife had the Chicken Mexicali -- also very good. She also ordered an appetizer of fried gizzards. Never been a fan, but I ate these. Oh yeah, definitely the coldest beer anywhere. We had high hopes of this place. We came in to town from South of Seattle to spend time at the beaches with our kids and our old Lab who has cancer. The ocean is one of the bucket list places we want to take her before its time for her to cross the rainbow bridge. This establishment had great reviews online, especially the raving reviews of the prime rib. My husband LOVES prime rib and was so excited. We ordered over the phone and left our kids (18 & 8) at the hotel to go pick up the food. We we're happy to have a drink and wait for our food, even though we arrived 10 minutes after we were told the food would be ready. The size and atmosphere of this place reminded us of our favorite bar in Woodinville. Loved the outside area which felt like a backyard. The food... Our 8 year old twins liked the burger and fries. The 18 year old ate it and didn't complain, just said it was "ok"; she's very polite. My burger dip with grilled onions and cheese was not great. The onions felt and tasted like the very first layer of the onion. They were tough and stringy. The burger was past well done and so dry. The bun was straight out of the store bought bag and not toasted/mushy. Now, for the prime rib... We ordered a 14oz cut, you pay per ounce, and hubby was HUNGRY. We have never had such a tough slab of prime rib, ever. We had plastic utensils in the hotel and we broke 3 knives and 2 forks trying to cut/eat the meat. There was very little seasoning on the meat and it looked like it was cooked much earlier in the day, then microwaved to order. Not good at all. The "loaded baked potato" we ordered consisted of a whole baked potato in the container. Nothing on it, just a whole potato. There was a packet of sour cream (like a ketchup packet) and a small container of chopped bacon included. That was the loaded baked potato. My hubby gobbled down the side salad because it was the best thing he got. I can't comprehend how this place has such good reviews. When we went to pay their credit card machine glitched out and we were told that they didn't know whether or not it went through. They had an ATM machine so we offered to pull out cash to pay the bill. We tipped $16 on the $89 bill, plus the $2.50 ATM fee and feel shafted. And we still don't know whether we were double charged and the card charge went through. The staff was nice, and even though the Confederate flag was off-putting, we wanted to tip for the service. If we had eaten our food there we would have complained and probably not tipped. Extremely disappointed. *Side note: our cancer ridden dog had prime rib for dinner so that's a plus. read more

My wife and I finished our shopping around 5:30 this past Friday in Aberdeen and decided to try the prime rib at the Welcome Inn. The service, hospitality and atmosphere was just right. We pulled up to the bar and ordered a beer and the smallest prime rib dinner(12 to 14 oz.). The waitress said that they had a way of cooking the roast so that all of it turned out med. rare, great! So we ordered. What we received was tough, grisly, and dry. Perhaps we hit the place on a bad day. Our friends in Hoquiam say that the burgers are great so we might stop by and try them. At the end of the day, two beers and two dry prime rib dinners for $53.90 was a bit too much. read more

Had lunch here today and jumped into their behemoth cheese burger and fries. This burger is a two hander that is difficult to put down, literally as if you do it tends to deconstruct with all fixins on board. I appreciate this, as I really don't want to put it down. The service here is provided by Barbie ( bartender, cook and waitress) and she is attentive, courteous and has demeanor that made me feel quite welcome. This is an older tavern in a residential neighborhood and makes for a quirky experience, which I enjoy. Pricing here is quite reasonable, which amounts to a value that I look for and delivers.
