Marked for a visit by family, we decided to try this place. In a realtor office building in the basement. The inside reminds of far east no frills restaurants. All dishes are served in plastic containers and that is a minus. The service is very good and they have clearly marked vegan options (large list). Vegan Chilli Garlic Tofu - seemed so simple to look, but the taste was just amazing. The crispness outside and soft tofu inside and tossed with chilli garlic. Not too spicy and topped with coleslaw type mixture to cool all on a bed of vermicelli noodles. We had just the vermicelli and that was so well cooked and seasoned. Vegan Ramen with black garlic broth. - the broth was the star as it should be. So flavourful, seasoned well and warmed the heart and soul on a very cold day. The noodles were slurped very quickly. Vegan Thai Style Coconut Hot and Sour veggie tofu noodle soup - so much broth and such a healthy serving. The broth again was mind blowing. Reminded us the flavours Chiang Mai and Bangkok. Spicy Vegan Chicken in Tao sauce on Rice - Outstanding dish and the vegan chicken was nice. A little too sweet after taste for us. But on the whole amazing. The veggies and vegan chicken are just crazy. You are going to see us a lot, we just might travel 500 Kms just for this! read more

Place wasn't busy when I arrived and there were some takeout orders ahead of me. My order was another 30mins after the pickup time. I order three plates - a special beef pho soup, shrimp noodle stir fry and GT chicken with white rice. The pho wasn't bad - but not great. Beef pho soup was not tasty and for the price- not recommended. Go to another pho place for better soup. The other two dishes were sloppy and the same reddish orange sauce in the spicy noodles and GT chicken. Total cost was $85 - should have went to another pho place on Somerset or even McD on Bronson. Disappointed. I gave it two stars - mainly out of sympathy. read more

This place deserves more credit. I ordered takeout and then went on Yelp to leave a review and couldn't believe they had a 3.5 star rating! I had their medium spicy chicken Pad Thai which also came with tofu in it. The spice level is closer to mild rather than medium and it has a bit of sweetness in it too (which I really loved). Overall, it was delicious and the serving size was pretty big and left me very satisfied. I will definitely be ordering and dining here more! read more

I went here for dinner with a girlfriend recently. We were lured in by their Specials Chalkboard in the window that advertised Pad Thai and Bubble Tea for $10. Unfortunately, it wasn't good :( I got the chicken Pad Thai and a Lychee Bubble Tea while my friend got the vegetable Pad Thai and a Coconut Bubble Tea. Our bubble teas were ok, but a bit on the small side and not cold enough for my tastes. The tapioca were satisfactory, not terrible, but not exceptional. Mine tasted like lychee and it wasn't overly sweet, so that was good. My Pad Thai was too oily for my liking and I felt that it lacked flavour. I asked for it "medium" yet I didn't taste any spiciness whatsoever. The chicken pieces were like oddly shaped random pieces of chicken. To me it felt like they were scavenged from the carcass that was used for another dish o_O So my friend took one bite of her Pad Thai, put her chopsticks down and declared she wasn't going to eat the rest. Yikes! She said the tofu "tasted old" and "not fresh." So she ordered some spring rolls ($5) and ate that instead. She finished her spring rolls and said they were ok. The place was packed though. It's a small restaurant, but every single table was taken by the time we left (it was practically empty when we first arrived). The server was nice, but she didn't check up on us at all. My friend had to go up to the front to order the spring rolls. Then we had to go up to the front to pay because it didn't look like our server as going to bring us the bill. From the dining area, you can see the fridges, cleaning solutions and all sorts of other stuff that is typically "behind the scenes." While it's not my preference, I'm not overly fussed about that kind of stuff (as I've dined at mom and pop hole in the wall joints that look like that but serve amazing food), but I know that some people are, so I figured that I'd mention it. Best noodle house in the province for their food. Could be the best in the country. I get the ramen with the tonkatsu broth almost every visit. Every time I'm downtown I'm tempted to pick up some Wei's and almost every time, I do. It's in a peculiar spot, just off the bronson highway exit, but once you find it, you're set for some good eats. take the right from the off ramp, and it's your first right (it comes up fast, so drive carefully). We ordered take out for our stay at home date night. Food arrive very fast but not very warm. I have no idea why. We ordered 3 different dishes: one (peanut sauce) was great (solid 4 stars), one reasonable (3 stars) and one just tasted a bit off like one ingredient was bad (2 stars at most) so this place got a 3 stars review. Stopped in when we got back into town on Thanksgiving, grateful things were open in Chinatown! Meal was at kind of an odd time, but our server was prompt and friendly and The menu is a range of dishes, mostly with noodles (makes sense) and the prices are very reasonable. We opted for some meat spring rolls, wonton noodle soup, and spicy peanut soup. All three were great - my peanut soup was really filling. The pho broth for the wonton was nice, it had more spices than many places. Servings were generous, as in most noodle shops. Keep an eye out for menu items on the wall but not in the menu. We were interested in trying the crispy rice another reviewer mentioned, but couldn't find it on the menu and didn't see it on the wall until after our food arrived. I guess we'll have to go back! Stopping by Ottawa for business and was looking for a lunch place. Glad I went in here. Easy to pass by since there isn't large signage but let me say, great value and awesome food. I ordered the crispy rice with stir fried pork and veggies. Delicious! Crispy rice as so good and well.....crispy. I haven't come across any resto both in Toronto nor Ottawa that does this. The crispy rice here takes me back when I was a kid and mom made it. Broccoli with beef was awesome too which my son gobbled up (he's a picky 2 year old) Don't pass this place by without trying it! read more

I absolutely loved this place. If you're a person who values architecture, decor, neatness, you definitely shouldn't go here but if you want to be surprised by delicious food, check this place out. I went here because I heard from a friend that they had a really awesome vegan menu - without her recommendation, I never would have looked twice at this place. The vegan menu definitely did not disappoint. We ordered the chilli garlic tofu to start which I'll probably be ordering every time now. It had the perfect amount of spice, in my opinion. My boyfriend ordered the chicken pad Thai and I ordered the vegan one. If you like your food slightly spicy, I'd ask them. Both of us said medium spicy when asked but it didn't taste spicy at all. The flavours were still amazing and I wish I could have eaten more! The plates were filled to the brim with noodles and my boyfriend and I walked out doubled over because we were so full! In addition to how great the food was, our server was extremely friendly. She was the only one working and was helping put together deliveries while serving the people inside. **Allergy Issues Ignored** Not here to review the food so much but to share information for anyone else with allergies. The two bites I had were great, but don't go eat here if you have any allergies. I ordered from UberEats. In my experience, restaurants will cancel the order and/or call you if they cannot accommodate the allergy. I understand and expect this when I add a note that says **Peanut Allergy** Personally, I am fine ordering food when there are peanuts in house. I've worked in restaurants and understand the limits of accommodations and cross contamination, I also only react when consumed directly. Obviously very confused when I started reacting, looked closer, and found crushed peanuts in the dish. This wasn't cross contamination or an accident because peanuts are used in other dishes. This was the allergen directly throughout the food. I understand that no one is operating as best as usual due to covid, but a mistake like this is absolutely unacceptable. I'm fine now and managed to avoid the hospital/epi-pens but I wanted to share this experience in case anyone that has allergies researches the restaurant. Especially since, generally, you think that if a place specifies vegan options they are understanding of restrictions and allergies. read more

This is my favorite restaurant in Ottawa - very accommodating for gluten intolerance and the staff is so friendly! My favorite things are lychee or durian smoothies, the rice paper wraps with grilled tofu (amazing), gluten free veggie pad thai :) Love it! read more

If I could give this establishment 0 stars, I would. I made a reservation there for 3 people this past weekend to celebrate my husband's Birthday. I had purchased a Team Buy Coupon for this Restaurant and since my son is Vegan and the menu had a lot of vegan options, it seemed like a good choice. When we arrived for dinner, we found a handwritten note scotch-taped to their door stating that they were short staffed and had decided to open a half-hour later than our reservation time!!! Did the restaurant owner really expect customers to wait outside in -15 C weather until it was convenient for someone to show up to at least open the door and let us in? Does this restaurant owner have so little respect for his patrons, so little sense of responsibility, so little business acumen that he would defer opening his doors knowing there was a reservation awaiting him, left outside a locked door, in the bitter winter cold!!! I have not had the occasion to taste the food at this "Business" but if this is a taste of what awaits the poor customers once they step inside, STAY AWAY!! read more

My wife and I needed a night off so we wanted to try this place. Now I can't speak for their in house offerings, but their delivery service was unsatisfactory. We spent $50 for a few common meals. When they arrived the chicken was burnt/dry and the portion size was laughable. Literally. When we called the restaurant we were met with rude attitudes. They were unwilling to change our options about the horrible experience we had. We had to reach out to Just-Eats to receive compensation. Living closeby, I've been here several times. The food is consistently good, but the service leaves a lot to be desired. If you sit down to eat, the service can be quite slow to nonexistent. I've also ordered online through their site and it takes 20-30 minutes longer than the time stated. The best option is to use SkipTheDishes, they seem to get those done the fastest. My sister and I called to order dinner at 6:20pm. An hour later it had not arrived so we called to ask how much longer it would be. The man who answered the phone was beyond rude and unprofessional. When we asked how long it would be he said they had not started our order and it would be at least another half hour until their driver was there (at the restraunt to pick up our order). My sister said that it was inconsiderate that they didn't mention it would take this long when we ordered and his response was "we are not pizza pizza we do not guarentee delivery time, so do you want to cancel your order?" Last night I went to Wei's Noodle House with some friends and I was excited to go because I love the food there. I have been there maybe 3 times before and the service was not amazing but the food was delicious so we went back. Last night, We were the only group of people inside the restaurant, and waited a very long time for someone to even notice us, so I went up to the front and asked to be served. The waiter then came and ordered our food and water. Normally they bring tea for the table but none was brought so we asked for some- during our whole time there no one brought us tea. We waited for 1:45 minutes and I had to go up twice to ask if our food was coming. The whole time we were there, uber eats and skip the dishes drivers were coming in and out with food and not once except for the one time we ordered our food did someone come to our table. after 1:30 they brought out one of my friend's soup that she ordered to I asked the waitress how long it would be for the rest and she argued with me and was very rude and even said "the longer we argue, the longer it'll take". We were so frustrated that we left with no food at all. I am very disappointed that this happened since the quality of the food is excellent and I wanted to share this with friends. They prioritized the online orders and didn't pay attention to us at all. I will not be going back. read more
