I shop at Weis all the time but on this particular day, at the store on White Street, York, PA was disappointed to find an employee (older woman, short gray hair, dark rimmed glasses-had the red Weis shirt on) parked up front in a handicap spot, unload her groceries and push her cart into the handicap space in front of her car. One of my biggest pet peeves is when shoppers leave the carts in parking places. I would expect an employee to do better. read more

The service sucks. I had some vitamins to return and didn't have a receipt. They wouldn't even give me a gift card because they were $40. Who cares!! You got the product and can sell it again. Today I told them is my birthday they still let me go with nothing. I went to Giant with the same and I gave them a penny and they just gave me cash!! They have long been an issue with my wife who won't even go in there. 2nd largest on the east coast means we don't care who you are.... no service. And first they started 24 hours now only open till 11pm and customer service is open 10am to 6pm now everyday. Wegmans and Giant are far better. I don't think I'll ever go back there myself and it's a shame because it's walking distance. read more

Beautiful new store, busy location. Giant in Trexlertown has to be the nearest serious competition. My issue with this store, it has become self service. Usually 1 or 2 check outs with actual cashiers - maybe 12 options where you go it alone. Then - at least 3, sometimes 5 employees hanging around the front end talking and/ or on their personal phone while I do the work that they could be doing. I'll drive right by on the way to Giant, they always have several cashiers ready to help. Wies store is nice, the "experience" is not. read more

Every time I use the self check out it makes you throw the food into the bagging area faster than is possible. This makes you constantly have to select skip bagging or go thru having an employee fix it. The last time 8 was doing better than normal with it, it registered that I didn't place an item in the bagging area and then said I didn't pay for it. It reset itself, but the a little dude employee came over pushed himself between me and the machine and said I missed something. I stated that 8 didn't, but proceeded to go thru all my bags to check against the screen. I walked out. Walmart is a challenge sometimes for other reasons, but their self check out is very good, especially compared to Wies. I will not shop there again. read more

The Pharmacy went out of their way to help me. I could not pick a special person out because, to me, they are all nice, friendly & helpful.

Constantly overcharges on items and if you catch them they give you the correct price but if you miss it they increased their profits by cheating you. Since last Dec when I noticed they were overcharging hams bought using bonus points by $.50 a pound or approximately $3.00 for each 6 lb. ham I've double checked every receipt. Over a dozen times items were overcharged and only once was less than advertised. They must be making thousands of dollars a day by cheating customers. This is not an individual store problem since the prices are entered into the system at the corporate level. Apparently they systematically cheat their customers as a business plan. I don't find this problem occuring at Giant or Renders. They may have 1 or 2 errors I find yearly. read more

If zero stars were a choice, that would be my vote. Went to this Weis looking to order a wedding cake plus a sheet cake which would have easily been a $500 order. The bakery staff was rude and quite incompetent, not to mention an extreme lack of product knowledge. Everything was too much to ask for, the attitudes were poor and the "bakery manager" didn't pay any attention or pretend to care. We went to the Giant in Emmaus and were extremely pleased. Oh, and only had to pay about half the price for what Weis wanted. Nothing was too much trouble there and they were actually glad to help us. read more

This Weis is clean but pricey! It has a monopoly on the area, so I would assume it's ok. The customer service is lacking and the cashiers aren't as friendly as Giant. It's definitely a convenience market, hopefully the new building will also bring new pricing and better customer service. Too bad though as it could be an amazing grocery store. read more

Small store with often crowded lines. Always more registers closed than open. Limited in brand selections available for some products. Small, pricy selection of non-grocery items, like toiletries, cleaning supplies and household items. Employees and staff always seems a bit disconnected. read more

I don't understand why people shop there on a regular basis. It's so overpriced! Even if you are in their "club" it's crazy. I shopped there on week instead of going to Walmart and it was $75 more than my normal weekly grocery bill! I expected to be in line for a shorter amount of time since it is a smaller grocery store. Nope, stood in line for 40 minutes. I didn't understand how they could only have 4 regular lanes open while even more remained unused. I had heard great things about their bakery and got some slices of cake for dessert that night. Alas, it tasted like any grocery store bakery - too much sugar resulting in a too sweet cake. The only thing that I found impressive was their meat selection but it cost as much as going to an actual butcher... which I would rather just do if my goal is to get high quality meat. read more

I have been a regular shopper at this location for several years but am reconsidering whether this will be my store of choice. Years ago the customer service was excellent. Some of the current cashiers are rude. I had forgotten an item (no-one waiting behind me) and I asked to go grab it. The cashier told me no because she was "being timed" and suggested I pay for the current order, exit the store, enter again, get my item and go through check out again. Seems like a stupid requirement and a bit of an imposition especially since their was no line behind me! I also have been having bad luck with finding products (boneless/skinless chicken thighs). When the item is available it has been spoiled; forcing me to return it. This had happened quite a few times. They no longer carry items that I purchased regularly forcing me to go elsewhere. The shopping cart collector yells at customers if they don't stack the carts with the same cart. He's rude. It may just be worth going elsewhere. Sadly I regret having to do so as this store is the closest to my home! read more

Military Day is supposed to help military members and veterans get 10% off their grocery order. It's a great idea, but the Macungie store doesn't care. I asked the cashier about the discount prior to her scanning a single item. She assured me before scanning my items I would get the discount. She then lied to me after I paid, saying the discount was on the receipt. After looking at my receipt, I saw no discount. I went to the Customer Service desk, and the manager agreed there was no discount. She asked me if the cashier went through "the long process and lots of questions to sign you up?" I said no. She then said she would sign me up. She gave me a receipt saying I was now signed up. I asked her for the discount on the $160+ I had just spent on groceries. She said she wouldn't give me the discount because I had to be signed up before paying. The only good thing about this store is the Pharmacy! The shelves are empty a lot of the time. The cashiers want you to use self-checkout instead of doing their jobs. I've often seen employees talking, screwing around with each other and carts, and just not working. read more

Yes, previously the lady in her higher age group was rude and very nasty especially to non-white customers and starts the attitude of "Why the _____ you are here??". This store has come a long way in the last few years. They must have gotten new management. All the salty bitches that used to work there are gone, and everyone is super helpful and friendly. I see the same people there nearly every day, and they ask me every day if I need help finding anything. Dude, I am there as much as you, I got this! The prices aren't great, but it's worth it to not have to deal with Wal-Mart, or the long lines at Giant. read more

Every time I call the main phone number listed online for the bakery department no one picks up the phone. If it is disconnected then maybe fixing it would be a main priority but then again, a source of contact for a business doesn't seem very important. Shows lack of professionalism, very annoying when trying to call ahead for something that needs to be prepared prior for pick up. Taking my business elsewhere, hopefully everyone who reads this considers the same. Weis market in Macungie PA is not worth anyone's time and money. read more

Came to do some grocery shopping today, the store was not too busy. The workers seemed a bit unhappy; also more interested in being chatty or acting like they were trying to stay busy. I asked a gentleman in one of the isles if he could tell me where to find pineapple juice. He had no idea where it was at and did not really try to get up and help. So, I walked till I found another gentleman walking by whom looked like he was a manager and he was the only happy enough to help me. At check out the older lady ringing my stuff up had a miserable face on no smile or emotion at all and I noticed she was a bit rude to the people in front of me as well. She was a bit slow made sure she took her time doing what she had to do. Overall the food is not too bad here a bit pricey on some of their products, but who isn't these days. I usually find decent deals every now and then and the produce for the most part is fresh when I go. read more
