GIANT - Grocery Near Me - Trexlertown, Pennsylvania

Their giant direct is horrible waiting 45 minutes with people coming after me. I asked at the door if I could just take mine .i had the door closed in my face to be opened with the attendant coming out with another order. She was rude and defensive. When I called the manager he made excuses for her that she is young and the storm coming has overwhelmed her with a lot of orders I have lived and used giant direct now for 5 years faithfully. This was the worst experience and for the manager to make excuses for her. I will not be shopping here again I will go to Weis from now on read more

My big complaint is about the small carts and the square wheels or it does seem that they are square the way the cart bounces and knocks your glasses off. I often choose not to go just because of that issue and instead head to Weis where their carts are better maintained. Replace the dame tires please!!!! read more

Customer service is hit and miss... One young man on the floor was exceedingly helpful, while the blue-purple short haired lady was patronizing and off-putting. I picked up one bag of chips that was 2 for $5 and checked with nearby staff to see if $2.50 would apply to a single bag purchase. He confirmed that it does, since the sign does not say 2 purchase is necessary. The bag rang up to be $3.99 and I explained to the short blue-purple hair cashier that this is on special and should ring up $2.50, she didn't care. Her response was that well that's what the machine is telling me. Technically, looks like there's an information disconnect between the systems of 'specials' entry is not in the cashier's system. This gap needs more man hours to bring things up to speed. HR wise, the cashier female should have taken the time to verify, but she chose to be unyielding and displaying a put-off attitude by the discrepancy of pricing displayed in her cash machine. I will not be returning to this Giant. I will give my money to Wegmans, Costco and similar where my purchasing process has been smooth, pleasant and my money appreciated. Absolutely the worst Giant store in the area. Kids working the deli don't listen to the order. I never get my lunch meat sliced right, and there's always residual pieces of other stuff on my meat and cheese. Rude cashier always makes for a fun checkout. Just go to another store. VERY BAD!!! Store is always clean. Always has a nice variety of items and brands. Great sales for has points. Customer service is friendly. They do, seem to run out of sale items before the sale ends, which only means you need to go to customer service to have them write you out a rain check, they never give a problem, which can take awhile,when those lines are long. Oh how I love Giant. More than anyone should ever love a grocery store. My heart yearns for Giant in Florida. This store is huge and very clean! You could literally spend hours going through everything. There are so many reasons I love this store. First, they have a coffee cafe that actually has really great coffee with a lot of options and it is cheap! There is a salad bar, fresh deli food, sushi, soup, subs and more. Their gas point deals are always awesome and the products you have to buy to get the points are actually useful and desirable products. (My sister paid 6 cents a gallon for gas today!) There is a whole isle dedicated to organic and all natural foods including a plethora of vegan options (such as toffuti and daiya). The bakery is amazing! Honestly, my favorite grocery store bakery ever! The donuts, bagels, and cookie cakes are a few of my favorites. They recently started a "Scan It" program that you need a giant club card (free) to use. You scan your own groceries and bag them as you shop and then just hand the scanner in and pay at the end. Saves a bunch of time and is really fun for the kids! You can also get coupons with your club card and the sale circulars have coupons including double gas points during certain weeks. read more

This place is notorious for bad business practice. I can't tell you how many times I've gotten home and found I was ripped off with a buy one get one free that didn't ring that way - I just took back a 1 pound container ($4.99) of strawberries - I double checked the sign on my way to customer service and when i got there was told i read the sign wrong ---- told him to go check the sign and he instead just gave me my $4.99 back. They know what they are doing! Also take a look at the houses behind the stores their trees and shrubs are full of garbage from Giant - they are the biggest litter bugs in the area. When i called corporate they didn't care at all - gave me lip service, never even took my name. PS they should clean the seafood area it smells horrible. read more

This is my favorite Giant I've been to in the area. It's larger than most and feels newer. Staff has always been friendly and the inside is clean. Never have too much difficulty finding a good parking spot and I like the sales Giant runs. Definitely worth getting the rewards card. read more

This giant location is not the best. The workers are usually really young people that don't care about their job, or really old people that just sit there and complain about working there and talk to me for 10 minutes. This location is always out of stock of everything I need. Brands, items etc. every time I come here looking for something I can never find it either because it's out of stock or they just don't have it period. I go to the other giant location in Allentown / the west end on tilghman st and they always have everything I need, the brand and everything. Workers are better trained and I get way better customer service when I'm there. I'd definitely make the extra 5 minute trip to go onto tilghman st I usually waste my time going to this location. read more

This Giant is clean and offers everything you need in one stop! There is a Starbucks inside as well. The only downfall of this and all Giants is the fact the the in/out doors cause chaos. It's convenient so expect it to be busy, but never waiting like other box stores to check out! Cashiers are friendly and bag your groceries the RIGHT way! read more

I was treated like pure trash when I visited this Giant Store in Trexlertown P.A. Since the deli seems to be short staffed at all giant locations that's my first stop when I start to shop. I ordered and then waited about 2-3 min. I was called up to the counter and asked what can they help me with there was a lady with dark orange curly hair with a cap on so I told her what I wanted she said sure but things went left when I asked her to change her gloves. She rolled her eyes sucked her teeth went to another employee to explain to them I wanted her to change her gloves they both shook there head and laughed. My feelings was completely hurt at that point so she doesn't wash her hands she grabs a pair of gloves comes to the counter and says "that's all" she seemed irritated at this point I could not believe she got so upset made a big deal because it wanted her to change her gLoves because I don't eat beef and that's the last piece of meat she touched... Great store, easy to find things. Seafood prices a bit high. The deli is a mess, the worst one I have ever been to. The workers are dirty, they carry open meat and cheeses against their clothes. This store moved down the road two blocks a few years ago. Having always been a Wegman's fanatic, I came here sometimes but not often. Now that we've moved & Wegman's isn't convenient at all to me, I've been trying to grocery shop within my route. This location is convenient and always has everything I need! Much bigger than the old one with a very nice selection. It's not Wegman's when it comes to produce or bakery, but it's a lot more convenient. Nice sales, and if you forget your bonus card, they can use the store card & you can bring your receipt in later to have the points added to your card. Easy in and out - try the back entrance if you take Lower Macungie Road! Much easier than turning in off of Hamilton (not that Hamilton is bad, though). I tend to shop the sales...everyday prices can be a bit high, but that's par for the course at most grocery stores. read more

I wanted a cake for a birthday. First girl I talked to was not much of a help. Said they don't free-hand draw and could not use a photo due to copyright laws. I called the next day and the lady that helped me was awesome! I don't pick up the cake until Wednesday so I hope it is as great as what my idea is. Giant cakes are always wonderful tasting so I am not worried about that at all. Just hope they could see my vision and draw the cake to my specifics. I like that they have a lot to choose from and is normally well stocked. I would like to compliment the deli manager who is always the sweetest lady to her customers and when I go I'm always happy to be greeted with such friendliness. Well today I got Tim, who wasn't pleasant at all. I know everyone has bad days, but I was always taught to leave it at home. Maybe the deli manager could rub off some of her happy spunk and it doesn't look good on a Sunday being so busy. A smile or pleasure to serve at all while giving customer service would make it 100% better. Slamming around slicers and walking around like you hate the world isn't the way to show you want to be there. Our manager always tells us if you don't like it , go elsewhere. But again this was the first unpleasant experience and that I felt I was a burden that I wanted some cheese , ham , and turkey.
