The attendant took my drivers license instead of simply my date of birth (I'm 73), and then the register directed her to have me pay at another station. After not shopping at wise for several months because the checkout process is so bad it was convenient to stop so I tried again; and failed. The checkout machine couldn't get the discounted price right and two store workers couldn't get it to get it right either. After 10 minutes I gave up and walked out. Wise's checkout is terrible. Prices are constantly wrong so you have to scrutinize every scan, the machine yells at you if you don't hurry and throw the item in the bag fast, and then it kept timing out as two store workers tried to get the price to record correctly. Wasted a half hour of my life and walked out without any items. Terrible. This time I will never be tempted to go back; I never have a good experience. read more

Ok, I am seeing poor to mediocre reviews - most were from 2008-2011 and the last review in 2016 Yes, yesterday was my first time in this Weis (on my way to a party I was helping to host for 30 Plus people). I needed a container of ground pepper and a Mylar balloon. And a bag of ice was pretty sure that I would have to stop somewhere else for ice. I This Emmaus store only has 2 carts for handicapiped customers and we had to wait in our car for half an hour and chase one customers in the parking lot to get his. I went to Weis and the shelves aren't consistently stocked at this location, prices are sometimes wrong from what the tag says, it often feels a bit dirty too. The Walmart that's about 15 mins away has better prices for 90% of the items and that's even without any sales, which they usually have more of at Walmart as well. Most of the staff is pretty nice and the ones who aren't usually don't stay hired for long so that's atleast good. read more

Great food. Because of the size of the store, you may not see all of your favorite brands but everything you need is there. We have been going for years. Some great meat especially cuts of beef and pork. Always clean, deli department really nice. All the employees are just very friendly and helpful. Great music too! read more

Shocked by other's poor reviews. This is my favorite place to shop. I like the small town feel as opposed to the much larger size of some other stores. I know exactly where everything is....I feel at home here and the employees are noticeably helpful in the aisles (I get the feeling they are encouraged to ask shoppers if they need help, as I am sometimes asked a couple times during my shopping trip). I think they have a nice selection of the typical things you would need (certainly not the more exotic fruits and veges you might find at Wegmans....but I have never had an occasion where I need anything exotic). My only complaint is that there isn't a Weis Gas n Go close to Emmaus where points can be used, but points can be cashed in on specific items instead like bananas and ice cream. They recently reopened this store after remodeling, and the new store looks great. This store certainly isn't Wegmans, but the selection is reasonable and the prices are decent. The store is much cleaner and they expanded their organic/natural/health food section. I'm not the biggest fan of their bakery and generally their produce selection is only pretty good (I save those purchases for Wegmans). But it's a grocery store and it does what it needs to. read more

This grocery store is the closest one to our home, but not one that we visit often. I find the everyday prices to be higher than Wegmans and the selection is much smaller (understandably, since the footprint of the store is fairly small). However, they have just about everything you'd need in a jiffy, with a Redbox right outside the door. Plus the lines tend to move fast. Is it a Wegmans substitute? Not in my opinion. But it'll get the job done and is convenient for the Emmaus/Lower Macungie/Upper Milford folks. read more

They never have baggers, their selection isn't great, and as stated by another reviewer their produce is not always fresh. In a pinch, they serve a purpose but we tend to shop at the Giant over in Trexlertown. read more

I use this store for non perishables, household cleaning products, dairy, frozen goods, etc. The meats and produce are not awful, I prefer the Giant in Trexlertown or Weis/Kings in Dorneyville for those items. Staff is mostly high school students it seems - but they're friendly and helpful for the most part. read more

I live between this store and the Giant up the road. They are both local stores and not able to compete with the Wegmans of the world but I choose this market every time over the Giant. Their staff is friendly and helpful. And they are always fully stocked, which is our biggest complaint about the Giant. The store team seems to take a lot of pride in their store. Love their pharmacy, their plant/flowers section is small but really well done, and their prepared foods while limited in selection are very good. I have always found good quality produce and meats and can usually count on finding a good bargain too. Their cashiers are also fast so while there can sometimes be lines as with any market, they go fast. read more
