Where to begin... BRUNCH To start wait time for a server to even address you to give you a heads up that they will be with you in a moment is nonexistent. They couldn't have cared less that we sat down. The server also barely came to the table and never once asked how our food was. Second the mimosas were flat and made with spoiled OJ. We had to send it back. Their excuse was sometimes the bubbles get flat when mixed. That couldn't be farther from the truth. Third the food. If I could give a negative 5 I would. This is a bakery yet my toast in avocado toast was soggy and clearly not toasted. The toast in the French toast was dry and cold. The chicken was obviously refried as it came out in less then 5 mins of being ordered. Oh the "spicy guacamole" on this avocado toast lacked salt and pepper. lord I don't even want to explain how it is far from spicy. The additional bacon that's an up charge tasted like jerky and yet was greasy. What could cause this other than possible precooking and then sending back into a fryer. I don't know but I can say I love bacon and this was terrible. In all I would never waste my time or money in this establishment. The fact that Guy Fieri had a stamp of approval of this place is something that this restaurant is clearly still trying to promote and ride its coattails. Please don't waste your time. Went for a business lunch. I had the short rib sandwich. It was ok, but didn't have a lot of flavor. Enjoyed the homemade chips. My colleague had the linguine and enjoyed it. This was the outcome of an amazing serendipitous adventure- and we loved everything about it. Ask for Tim- he is who you want as your cruise guide. He knows everything about this place. He also has innate abilities with recommendations after hearing a few things you enjoy. All his recommendations were spot on. We started with drinks - the cocktails are on point and cleverly done. We shared homemade pasta- squash blossoms... nuff said and the pizza was beautiful - the crust perfection and the toppings included cherry tomatoes, salami, capers, perfectly dressed greens. Went on a Sunday for brunch and waited 30 minutes for a table which is not bad for a full house. Ordered a cocktail while I waited, gin and fruit, which was not flavorful and pre-made from a large bowl. We proceeded to our tables and ordered the dougnuts and fried chicken (not the healthiest choice I know) as well as the sausage pizza. The doughnuts & chicken was good and the hazelnut syrup complimented it very well. However, the sausage pizza was okay, rather limp and slices was falling apart unless you fold and bite. Love the concept of the restaurant and the decor. I did notice that a chef was using his phone as well as plating the food (without gloves). Also, the valet driver was rude and not the nicest. My wife and I decided to try the place last night. Overall, good experience but I do think they try a little too hard. Easy to get to location, decent parking. Nice ambience. Friendly neighborhood restaurant. We went for dinner and it was fairly busy, but no problems getting a reservation at the last minute or any wait being seated. The wait staff was attentive, friendly and informative. The food overall was good, but I think they tried too hard and suffered from over thinking. For example, we ordered the hummus small plate. The hummus was very good and the wood fired flatbread was awesome. It was also served with a bomba de calabrese that was excellent. This was great, but they decided to cover the hummus with mushrooms and greens. While I love mushrooms, it felt like I had to dig to find the hummus. I would have preferred if they kept it simple. We next each had the butter lettuce salad. Very well done, simple and delicious salad. Good portion, and well balanced. The dressing and gastrique on the salad were excellent and didn't overwhelm the delicate butter lettuce. For our entrees, my wife opted for the Pan Seared Gulf snapper. The fish was well cooked and the everything on the plate worked well together. I ordered the duck breast, medium rare. The breast was well cooked, with the skin crisp and the meat a good light pink and juicy. While I enjoyed the duck, they chose to serve it with mushrooms and black rice. The mushrooms were good, but I have to say I'm not a big fan of the black rice. I would have preferred a simple risotto or maybe a wild rice mix. I just didn't love the texture and flavor of the black rice. I will admit, that is personal preference though. We finished off the meal sharing the flourless chocolate cake. Have to say it was very disappointing. The cake itself was way over cooked and was like trying to eat a hockey puck. The ancho chili gelato was too overpowering to enjoy alone. Pretty disappointing for a bakery. Overall there is a lot of potential, it just missed on a few things . My experience at weights and measures tonight was conflicting, the appetizers were spot on, the octopus had a beautiful crisp outside and a luscious tenderness inside and the lamb chops were beautiful and buttery. My main dish was hand cut PAPPAREDELLE and I must say that the flavor was beautiful but the texture of the scallops were a bit rubbery and the shrimp were hard and I was unable to separate them from the shell, when The waiter finally came around and asked how our food was and I told him that the flavor was good but that the shrimp were hard and an edible he just looked at me and said I'm sorry and walked off, it was not until five minutes later that he came back and asked if I would like for him to have another set of shrimp made. At the end of the meal when it was time to pay the check we gave him a credit card he brought the check back we were set and ready to go and then he came back and asked for the credit card again because he had Miss charged us for a number of items, because we had a number of things we did not really pay attention, we were grateful that he caught the mistake but we were a little put out that every move throughout the whole meal seem to take a good deal of effort on our part, I think some additional training when it comes to their waitstaff would be a good idea. My overall score for the food was very good but I am not sure that I would go out of my way to go back with the service not to mention although I guess I am that The music was extremely loud and we found ourselves having to shout to hear each other not to mention the waiter did not speak very loud so we were constantly asking him to repeat himself. I went to this restaurant about 3 weeks ago and the food I got wasn't that great. I ordered the spaghetti and it lacked on seasoning. They gave me 3 pieces of shrimp. Came here with a friend and my wife one evening during the week. Service was pretty prompt and the menu and experience was all explained well. The thing I didn't expect was the wild inconsistency our dining partner experienced having been a few days before. The menu is rather all over the place too, but if you connect the dots the carbs on what links it all. But anyway, the thing was he was totally blown away by his first 3 experiences, and then ended up somewhat let down when he took us to show it off, finally. The big sticking point for him was with the cocktails, which though quite boozy and still delicious at least from what I ordered were not made to the level they'd been previously for him. Moving to food, we tried a dish or two from each section of the menu and one of the specials which was a tuna steak. The small plates all started really well and I wouldn't shy away from them, but the pizzas need some work. For an oven such as the one they're using I expected the crust to have been cooked through a little more consistently. Parts were great and crispy, but towards the middle it was simply to doughy still. Which is too bad, because I cook great pizza's at my house all the time, both indoors and out, with what I can assure you is a cooler cooking temp. If the 700* in my grill with a stone gets the job done, so should that oven of theirs. I'll definitely be back to try more and see if they manage to even things out service wise. I suppose I've been turned off from the beginning when i saw them making the pizza dough (not like the Seinfeld episode ) - they had a huge amount of dough at the ready, looked great, ready for pizza/ the oven... then out comes a block of butter - 2-3 inches think, 1 foot by 2 feet long (I may be exaggerating for effect here) ... and they slap it in the middle of the dough, kneed it all together. no wonder it tastes good! also provides me a decent amount of indigestion. i hear (unverified) that smash burger is doing something similar. sorry - there are far better ways to make tasty pizza. so that made me wonder what else is going on n the kitchen - like most I'd really rather not know, but i can't un-see what i saw. I came to weights + measures as a last minute decision when a friend and I couldn't figure out where to go for lunch. They have a fairly small lot for the size of the establishment, which it shares with the MET. They also have complimentary valet parking, which we ended up doing because there weren't any parking spots. We signed in with the hostess, who took my cell number, and I immediately received a text informing me that I would be notified via text when my table was ready. She told me 20 mins, but it ended up being more like 15. They were very busy, and it was about 12:20 by the time we were seated. The menu had a variety of items, pizzas, burgers sandwiches and salads. I went with the Margarita pizza, and had them add mushrooms, which they didnt charge me for! The pizza was alright, the sauce was a bit on the watery side, but the flavor was good. They used fresh mozzarella, I could tell by the smell of the cheese. They served fresh squeezed OJ, and grapefruit juice, with plenty of coffee beverages to choose from. I also opted to get the doughknots, and they were delicious! They are served fresh out of the oven, drizzled with honey and powdered sugar. They reminded me of beignets. Overall, a solid restaurant. Quaint, cute, modern. The aroma of the fresh baked goods right as you walk in the door is so alluring. The taste does not disappoint either. I was a fan of their citrus glazed muffin, (definitely need to go back to try more). Priced a little higher than comparable restaurants, but it's definitely fun for a quirky date night. It's also cool that the pastry making section of the kitchen is encased in glass, so you get to see the process. I had the cranberry walnut grilled cheese, and it was delicious. What a fantastic place, tucked away in midtown. I have dinned here for breakfast, dinner and just dessert & coffee. All have been super yummy and a little exotic, at least to me. The cocktails are super yummy, definitely have someone behind the bar who knows what they are doing. They staff is super accommodating and informative. Not to mention patient as they explain what some of the dish components are and how they taste. I really like the retro vibe of the place, while still being industrial and a little hipster. We thought it was super cool, being from that 80's gen, when they brought the check in a cassette tape case. What?! Haven't see one of those is decades! This is just a great place to meet friends for some yummy pizza and drinks. Maybe have a weekend brunch, or nice dinner with that special person. Another total bonus is their pastry cabinets. I've been wanting to check out W+M for quite some time, and we finally had an opportunity a few weeks ago for a Friday dinner. The restaurant was hopping, so if that's your scene, 5 stars. My boyfriend and I decided to share several small plates. We ordered an avocado with pine nuts and mozzarella salad, ribeye meatballs, mussels, and toasted tomato caprese. Maybe we just didn't order well, but we were very underwhelmed. The salad was, well, not a salad. The mussels were extremely salty, and the meatballs I could have made myself at home. The tomato caprese was the only item worth writing about. Instead of dessert, I decided on the smores latte, which tasted great but only upon arrival did I learn the restaurant was out of marshmallows?! My favorite meal is brunch so this place has been on my To Do list for a while. The moment you step in I was engulfed by the delicious smell of their in house baking. I quickly reviewed the baked good to purchase on the way out. The wait for 5 wasn't long considering it was Sunday at noon. We were offered mimosas to purchase at the mini bar where we waited and also shown the full cocktail menu. Our waiter Matthew was fantastic in answering our questions. Cocktails like Bloody Mary's and Micheladas, they were all quite tasty. Our meal was served shortly and geez each plate was a star! So the table was silenced as we devoured our meal. I had the house smoked salmon + dill mascarpone + purple onion + truffle egg + pumpernickel. It's served with a side of home style potatoes. Each bite of the open sandwich has so many exciting flavors! The dill mascarpone and additional dill as a garnish really set the sandwich apart. My friend had the donuts + fried chicken + hazelnut vanilla syrup + bacon + spinach which was a nice twist on the chicken & waffles. Loved each bite they shared with me. Another ordered the avocado toast + fried eggs + hardwood smoked bacon + green harissa + ciabatta, this definitely delivered the spice I love with the Green Harissa (looks like Mexican Green Salsa but it's actually a Tunisian hot chili pepper paste the main ingredients of which are roasted red peppers, serrano peppers and other hot chili peppers and spices and herbs such as garlic paste, coriander seed, or caraway as well as some vegetable or olive oil for preservation.) As I wrap up this review I'm alternating nibbles of a Double Chocolate Cookie and a Pecan Chocolate Chip Cookie. They are both delicious and chewy with a slightly crisp outer layer. I finally got to try W+M this past weekend for brunch with my sister and best friend. First things we noticed was the price 0.0 this place is two dollar signs, but we still kind of gaped at the prices all around - my friend who is from San Francisco said she never saw such an expensive avocado toast. Sigh, but we still ordered it! We shared 3 dishes: avocado toast, the omelette of the day, and oaxaca scramble. They were all pretty good! I liked that the avocado toast had pesto on it with a strip of bacon. The portion was kind of small but it's ok because we all shared. The omelette was fluffy and I enjoyed the gruyere cheese. The oaxaca scramble was delicious- cheesy with good flavor! We didn't make reservations but we were seated right away for a party of 3 at 9am on Saturday. So as long as you can get there early, seating shouldn't be an issue. All the servers wore Hawaiian/floral theme shirts which I thought was fun. They were really nice and attentive. It's kind of pricey for brunch in my opinion so I'm not sure if I'll be a regular. But if you come back with your receipt within 30 days, you can pick an item from the bakery for free! I've come to W+M's a handful of times since it originally opened. When I first came to W+M's when they first opened, I was not a fan. I had food that I thought was not good and overpriced. I had forgettable service so take that as you will. The the more recent visits, they have gotten better and better which I think is fantastic. I haven't been here for dinner but I've come for breakfast/brunch/dinner. I used to work nearby so the chocolate croissant was my go-to breakfast item from their bakery. It smells heavenly in the morning btw. In my most recent trip, I came for brunch with some friends and I enjoyed everything - including food, service and the timeliness of all. We got a table very quickly, mostly because we got there at 10am. I started off with a regular latte - it was average, but I would have liked to have less milk and more espresso but that's a personal preference. I loved my food since I ordered the donut cakes and fried chicken which turned out better than I thought, the donuts were fluffy inside and crispy/crunch outside. The syrup came on the side and I was able to put on my own amount which was great. The chicken was good, but it was lacking in seasoning...but was fried great. My food came with a side and I opted for sauteed spinach since I felt like I needed SOME greens, but the spinach was half sauteed and half raw/wilted. I'm not too sure about the "bake shop" part of this place, but the cocktails and dishes are very good. Some different flavor profiles to explore in the craft cocktail menu. I settled on a tart Lime Rickey variant called the "Constant Gardener" and while it didn't provoke within me the exhilaration and tense suspense of its namesake, it was nonetheless very tasty. The aromatic and vegetal components provide a nice respite from the onslaught of acidic citrus. Tastebuds sufficiently primed, we ordered the grilled eggplant olive bread salad so we could experience the prowess of the pastry chef. The buratta garnish was wet and loose and delicious and our favorite element of this well-composed dish. I ordered the citrus cured salmon, which on the face of it seems a safe choice. However, the vegetable ragout accomplice steals the show as the perfect counterpunch to the expertly cooked, medium rare temperature, fatty, unctuous salmon. The surprise fried basil leaf garnish just put it over the top. This isn't a place where we'd go week in and week out ($$$); but it is definitely a multiple times a quarter destination for us. read more

Came here for lunch today with a coworker. It was actually nicer than I was expecting given some of these reviews. The menu is pretty straight forward. We were promptly informed after we say that there were some items on the menu that weren't available. I was quite disappointed by that because I wanted to try the chicken liver toast but alas, I got the chick pea humus. I really liked his dish, it comes with mushrooms, pita bread and some sort of spicy sauce which was fantastic. Loved it. I got the skirt steak while my coworker got the linguine. The linguine was really good though I think it'd get pretty tiring eating food that's just absolutely drenched in butter. The steak was so good and perfectly cooked. This was our first time to Weights + Measures. We enjoyed the Restaurant Week menu items immensely. We chose to celebrate a special occasion and book through Open Table. We were greeted with a congratulations and a special floral candle with music toward the end of our meal. The homemade pasta and lobster were perfectly cooked. The honeycrisp salad was simple and refreshing. The cornmeal crepes could have fooled anyone with its light and fluffy texture. We will most definitely return to this restaurant. Came for Saturday brunch. I'm a huge Common Bond fan and was hoping for another fun place to add to my brunch rotation. While I am not nixing Weights and Measures from my list just quite yet, I wasn't as impressed as I wanted to be. I ordered the doughknots for my little boy to munch on while we waited for our main course. They boasted cardamom in the description (my favorite spice) and I didn't even get a hint of it. For the main course I ordered the fried chicken and cake donuts with a hazelnut vanilla syrup. No hazelnut to be found in the syrup and the chicken, while crispy on the outside, had a layer of thick slimey skin underneath. The donuts tasted almost stale. The reason I would come back? Came here for brunch for the first time on a Sunday. We expected a wait, so we made reservations for two for when we would arrive in 45 minutes. I would recommend doing this on their website or on Opentable.com! It's super easy to do, and we were sat at our table within minutes, while there were many people waiting to be seated. They have ample seats inside, and they have an outdoor patio with 3-4 tables. I ordered the peanut butter toast, because Nutella. It also had banana, bacon, and an egg on it. Was unsure, if it would all work together, but it did and was so good! My friend ordered the house smoked salmon toast with dill mascarpone and truffle egg. Also tasty!! So far, they've gotten their toasts down! I love the industrial look and homey feel of the place! I want to visit again and try their desserts at their bakery and drinks at their bar. By the time we finished our meal (which was around 1:30 p.m.) and visited the bakery, many of the baked goods were gone. Will definitely be back! read more

We were in town for a 2 day mom's weekend to get away from the kiddos and my friend found this place on a quick yelp search for cocktails and food. It was super cute and hip. I loved the way the menu was set up. Only think is we didn't think to make a reservation so we sat at the bar. No worries. I had the wagyu Benedict--it was delicious! Needed a touch of salt and perfection. I had the English Garden cocktail--awesome!! I ordered a s'mores latte- beautiful presentation and it was delicious but wasn't as hot as I anticipated, that's really not a huge deal, but if anyone working for the restaurant reads this I'd just want them to be aware. Overall we loved the service, we loved the food and ambiance. It was a great brunch. read more
