The staff is so friendly, the food is so good, and it's consistent. This is an hour drive and we make it a few times a month at minimum for their incredible cuisine. The food here really stands out, and that is saying something near Atlanta where I feel like the options for Chinese are plentiful and usually quite good. Try something other than the 'usual' (general tso, orange chicken, etc.) and you wont regret it. I'd recommend DanDan Noodles, Pork Fried Noodles, and Crispy Beef. First experience here was impressive! I ordered the salt and pepper shrimp with hot tea. Everything came out very quickly with attentive service. The shrimp portion was more than expected. I wasn't able to finish it all. And the flavor was just what I was craving! I ended up ordering another dish (Sizzling Beef) to bring home to my husband and he said that was delicious too. Tried WEI first time Friday night! We did a small to go order of Crab Rangoon 8/10 very good. Vegetable pan fried dumplings, I really enjoyed, my daughter didn't lol. Idk why I wasn't expecting the green coloring, I thought they were going to be regular colored dumplings w/ vegetables inside but they were green you have to eat them with the sauce that they come with. We did the general tso chicken, my daughter really enjoyed. I did not, idk it had a fishy/seafood taste. We also tried the fried beef, I loved, daughter did not lol she said it taste weird. WEI is one of my new favorite Chinese spots in the Buford area. At first I thought it would be Americanized Chinese food, but it has mix of both traditional regional Chinese food like dumplings or Szechuan dishes for example. This menu diversity makes it stand out if you compare to any of the other Chinese restaurants in the area. The staff and service is really good for the most part. The interior is a mix of booths and tables. Decoration wise, nothing worth mentioning, but it seems like a mix Chinese inspired designs with a splash of modern. Everything I ordered I really liked, but the standout dish is there special Hong Kong style seafood fried rice. It's my go-to dish whenever I stop by. You definitely leave feeling fed and satisfied. Outstanding! We had the "crispy beef" which was prepared similar to Taiwanese salt/pepper chicken. Also had the crispy pork intestines. Not my thing, but my Chinese friend loved it! Only complaint was the food was a little salty - but the friendly staff quickly remade the dish to ensure our satisfaction. They have a blend of authentic Chinese and the standard Americanized Chinese food you find everywhere else. Everyone will find something to suit their tastes. Will be back! read more

Being order the 2nd party there, it took the staff a good amount of time to take our order. Staff was nice and courteous. Refilled my water without even asking, which is the best service I could possibly ask for. I order the soup dumplings, not as soupy as I remember from other places. I'm excited to say my fellow OTP-ians, FINALLY, a solid Chinese place has come to the Buford area. They are true to their name, this place is authentic in a very good way (pun intended). The inside is modern and clean. The menu is extensive and they have a lot of Cantonese and Sichuan dishes. Which was a little concerning but they did a good job representing both. I used to have to drive to Doraville or the city to get good real authentic Chinese food. So glad to have a closer option now closer to home. As any new authentic Chinese restaurant, I always try the Cumin lamb at Sichuan places and Egg Tofu Casserole at Cantonese places. Since this place represents both we got the pair and some soup dumplings to start. The soup dumplings are hand made. The dumpling skin has a nice thickness and chew to them. The filling was ok, not as much soup inside and missing aromatics. If Din Tai Fung is the gold standard, this comes in at bronze. Our favorite dish was the cumin lamb. The Sichuan seasoning was on point, spicy, tongue numbing and flavorful. Loved mixing it with rice to enjoy every succulent drop of it. It was a tad gamey so if you're sensitive to lamb smell, they have a beef version that maybe better for the less adventurous eater. The Jade Tofu Casserole (egg tofu with pork and xo sauce) was very well done. The egg tofu was fried and it had a really good balance of texture and flavor. It was only outdone by the cumin lamb due to the explosion of spices. But if you're getting all Cantonese dishes, this will be the star. Mixing the pork with xo sauce and the tofu in my rice bowl ended with me quickly devouring the whole bowl and then some. Overall, this satisfies most of my authentic Chinese cravings with the convenience of being local but won't replace Bobo Garden, Masterpiece, Canton Cooks or Gu's. If you're a fan of any of those classic joints, then you'll be a fan of Wei. read more

In the area looking for Chinese food, I went to Yelp and heard about WEI opening up, had to give it a try! Very impressed! I will be back! Extensive Menu (sorry i forgot to take a photo of page 2 of the menu). Clean restaurant - its new! Speedy! - I was quickly seated and waited on, the food arrived hot, fast and Delicious! Fastest service I have ever had at a restaurant! My entree came out before my appetizer. Staff - the staff are courteous. They are there if you need them, but i noticed my server didn't come back to see if I liked my food or needed anything. I actually didn't...I was fine and enjoying my meal, but somebody does usually check on things. On my way out, I did let them know that I enjoyed the food. :) House Lo Mein came out piping hot, juicy and delicious. Included: shrimp, chicken and beef (along noodles with some vegetables). Crab Rangoon's were also piping hot, creamy and very yummy. I love the dipping sauce! Yes! Finally a good Chinese spot. I had been deferring to Panda Express for my local go-to but not anymore! WEI seems to be every bit the Chinese you want it to be. On my first occasion I arrived and ordered take out, the chicken lo mein. It only took about 5 mins before my order was ready. I got it back to the house and it was still pretty hot when I opened the dish. The lo mein was great! No surprise tastes, just the way I liked it. I was feeling nice after just 1! Small plates: dandan noodles - 6/10 it was okay. Wished it was more flavorful. Small plates: salt and pepper calamari - 10/10 literally the STAR of the show! So bomb with so much flavors!!!!! Small plates: soup dumplings- 3/10 we had to wait for an extra 15mins for these to be made and it came out last. Made us think it was gonna taste good but it didn't! Everything was excellent. The dumplings and hot sour are so good. They were kind enough to take back the butter shrimp as it's mostly onions and I just don't do onions. Was excited to try "authentic" Chinese food closer to home. Half duck (3/5): Duck didn't have much meat compared to other places I've been to. It is served with steamed buns with a side of sauce, green onions & cucumbers. Had someone roll out a cart & they cut it up for you at your table. Wood Ear Mushroom Salad (4/5): This was pretty good. Tasted like apple cider vinegar. Beef tendon/tripe (2/5): This dish was salty. I had to mix it into the mushroom salad to kill some of the saltiness. Soup Dumplings (3/5): These weren't too bad. I've lived in the area for almost three years and have not found a place whose dishes are like that I've had in Western China - and in a very comfortable clean setting, I might add. The spice (even the dishes on the menu with Sichuan peppercorn) is on the mild side for American tastes - so don't be afraid to tell them to make it more spicy (scale of 1-5). The service was exceptional, you can tell they work as a team. We never went more than 1 minute with a glass needing a refill. The food was exceptional.
