This restaurant has some of the best Chinese food in the area. We ordered chongqing chicken, stir fried pea sprouts, and fish in hot oil for dinner. We loved the flavor profile here, not too salty and has a deep Schezuan flavor that we crave. Servings are huge for sharing or leftovers. We want to come back to try the Mapo tofu, and their lunch specials are a great deal $11.50. Service was great as always!
I see this place nearly every day, and also keep seeing the good reviews, so we had to try it. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Small place that's somewhat quaint, but not awesome.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Staff is friendly. Young lady seated us immediately. I saw a pic of a meal with fried rice that looked more white than fried so I asked about their fried rice, and whether it could be made a little darker. She said it's pre-made. That was disappointing. I ordered General tso chicken, and wife ordered Mongolian beef. Food arrived in minutes, and was piping hot. Both meals were good quality, and delicious. I'd say they were both well above average. I have a high degree of confidence they are very consistent, and that's not all that common here. Overall, it deserves a recommendation for a try. I don't think I could make it a regular stop, but if you like this kind of Asian food, you might.

She definitely did. I also got a pair of chopsticks with mold on it, but when asked to replace it, she did. Food was amazing! I can't stop thinking about their calamari appetizer to this day! I ordered fish while my husband ordered chicken, and we had leftovers. Husband didn't like the fish because of the smooth texture but growing up with a diverse palate, I didn't understand and still loved it. Chili Spot in Duluth might be better, but location-wise, I'm glad we have a Chinese restaurant around here.
Dined on Lunar New Year. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant was peaceful yet. There was an air of excitement because of the new year.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We had our lucky dinner and despite how busy it had gotten, the service was impeccable and dishes were consistently delicious. I highly recommend you make reservations if you're planning to dine there during a special holiday such as LNY or arrive early before the crowds come.
We went back tonight for dinner, and what a difference! The hostess seated us right away, and the waitress, from before, came right to the table to take our drink orders. After bringing our drinks, she asked if we were ready to order, stating that she wanted to put our 2 orders in before the large table (12 people) behind us. We thanked her for her thoughtfulness. The hostess brought out our soup orders, and I noticed they also have an additional food runner who helped clear dishes and bus tables. I ordered egg drop soup and my husband got the hot & sour soup. We also ordered Mongolian Beef and Sesame Chicken. It was all delicious! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Despite not having a foyer, the restaurant was nice and warm inside, a welcome reprieve from the cold outside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We will definitely be back!
Enjoyed dinner here tonight. The chicken and vegetable dish we ordered was tasty but the combo Lo Mein left a lot to be desired. Service was quick and attentive and [[HIGHLIGHT]]the vibe was on par with most other Chinese restaurants.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Not sure it's enough to make me want to return but it served the purpose tonight.
Visited this local eatery and was satisfied with their menu and choices. My favorite dish to order for an appetizer was their salt and pepper calamari. I love how lightly fried it is and how it comes with jalapeños to add some spice. I ordered their pork dumplings which were decent but I much prefer mine to be fried. I ordered the sesame chicken with snow peas instead of broccoli and it was good. My husband ordered their General Tsos which he throughly enjoyed. I love how it is authentic Chinese food but it is also local. Service was great and server was attentive to our table. We will be coming back soon.
Great Christmas night dinner. Nice variety on the menu. Service was fast and friendly. We had wontons in chili oil, salt and paper calamari, Mongolian beef, orange chicken, and one other beef dish I can't recall. Everything was good the Mongolian beef was so tender, but there wasn't a lot of beef in the dish. The calamari was also very tender and delicious. There wasn't a full bar, but we stuck to soft drinks.
Authentic Americanized Chinese food but still good. We ordered the Scallion Pancake, Chicken Lettuce Wrap, and Fish in Chili Oil. All were tasty options but the Fish in Chili Oil, while marked as spicy definitely was not. We do authentic Chinese frequently and were excited to see that on the menu so I felt that was lacking. It was still good though. They do offer many authentic Chinese dishes so if you are considering ordering a spicy dish, let them know you mean it. I'm sure they are simply trying to cater to many of their patrons. Due to the overwhelming number of positive reviews, they aren't wrong. If we were to go back, we would tell them to really spice it up. The service was fantastic! We were greeted and sat, during a busy rush with no issues and served with enthusiasm. Our server(s) were very helpful and prompt on any of our questions or needs like drink refills and such. The decor is nice and restroom clean (which can make or break my reviews as a dirty restroom makes me question the cleanliness of the kitchen. But no concerns there. I'd definitely go back. I knocked one star only due to the Americanized "authentic" Chinese. While I believe they are trying to balance the two for their guests, to call this authentic felt a bit misleading since we drove out of our way to try this place. Several of the authentic Chinese dishes at true authentic Chinese spots we were craving were not options, nor was the spice level there, it was still good food.
This place is SOOOOO freaking good and I've only tried the Kung Pao chicken so far. I was afraid of excessive heat or amount of peanuts but they balanced the dish out beautifully. The dish was perfectly savory, a hint of sweet, good kick of spice, and portioned for 2 meals I feel like ($17). The taste feels authentic like what you get in Chamblee in China town but a tad bit tastier Customer service was very welcoming Ambiance is pretty laid back nothing crazy fancy but it is kind of cute inside for a date night. Attire would not matter here. I will ABSOLUTELY be back and tell others about this place!

The staff is so friendly, the food is so good, and it's consistent. This is an hour drive and we make it a few times a month at minimum for their incredible cuisine. The food here really stands out, and that is saying something near Atlanta where I feel like the options for Chinese are plentiful and usually quite good. Try something other than the 'usual' (general tso, orange chicken, etc.) and you wont regret it. I'd recommend DanDan Noodles, Pork Fried Noodles, and Crispy Beef. One of my favorite spots, I hope you enjoy it as much as we do. read more

Tried WEI first time Friday night! We did a small to go order of Crab Rangoon 8/10 very good. Vegetable pan fried dumplings, I really enjoyed, my daughter didn't lol. Idk why I wasn't expecting the green coloring, I thought they were going to be regular colored dumplings w/ vegetables inside but they were green you have to eat them with the sauce that they come with. We did the general tso chicken, my daughter really enjoyed. I did not, idk it had a fishy/seafood taste. We also tried the fried beef, I loved, daughter did not lol she said it taste weird. We always ordered togo food from here, but this was our first time dining in person. Food is great like always, service was attentive and prompt, great ambience for family dinners. Definitely will be back for more great items on their menu! read more

Outstanding! We had the "crispy beef" which was prepared similar to Taiwanese salt/pepper chicken. Also had the crispy pork intestines. Not my thing, but my Chinese friend loved it! Only complaint was the food was a little salty - but the friendly staff quickly remade the dish to ensure our satisfaction. They have a blend of authentic Chinese and the standard Americanized Chinese food you find everywhere else. Everyone will find something to suit their tastes. Will be back! read more
Being order the 2nd party there, it took the staff a good amount of time to take our order. Staff was nice and courteous. Refilled my water without even asking, which is the best service I could possibly ask for. I order the soup dumplings, not as soupy as I remember from other places. I'm excited to say my fellow OTP-ians, FINALLY, a solid Chinese place has come to the Buford area. They are true to their name, this place is authentic in a very good way (pun intended). The inside is modern and clean. The menu is extensive and they have a lot of Cantonese and Sichuan dishes. Which was a little concerning but they did a good job representing both. I used to have to drive to Doraville or the city to get good real authentic Chinese food. So glad to have a closer option now closer to home. As any new authentic Chinese restaurant, I always try the Cumin lamb at Sichuan places and Egg Tofu Casserole at Cantonese places. Since this place represents both we got the pair and some soup dumplings to start. The soup dumplings are hand made. The dumpling skin has a nice thickness and chew to them. The filling was ok, not as much soup inside and missing aromatics. If Din Tai Fung is the gold standard, this comes in at bronze. Our favorite dish was the cumin lamb. The Sichuan seasoning was on point, spicy, tongue numbing and flavorful. Loved mixing it with rice to enjoy every succulent drop of it. It was a tad gamey so if you're sensitive to lamb smell, they have a beef version that maybe better for the less adventurous eater. The Jade Tofu Casserole (egg tofu with pork and xo sauce) was very well done. The egg tofu was fried and it had a really good balance of texture and flavor. It was only outdone by the cumin lamb due to the explosion of spices. But if you're getting all Cantonese dishes, this will be the star. Mixing the pork with xo sauce and the tofu in my rice bowl ended with me quickly devouring the whole bowl and then some. Overall, this satisfies most of my authentic Chinese cravings with the convenience of being local but won't replace Bobo Garden, Masterpiece, Canton Cooks or Gu's. If you're a fan of any of those classic joints, then you'll be a fan of Wei. read more
In the area looking for Chinese food, I went to Yelp and heard about WEI opening up, had to give it a try! Very impressed! I will be back! Extensive Menu (sorry i forgot to take a photo of page 2 of the menu). Clean restaurant - its new! Speedy! - I was quickly seated and waited on, the food arrived hot, fast and Delicious! Fastest service I have ever had at a restaurant! My entree came out before my appetizer. Staff - the staff are courteous. They are there if you need them, but i noticed my server didn't come back to see if I liked my food or needed anything. I actually didn't...I was fine and enjoying my meal, but somebody does usually check on things. On my way out, I did let them know that I enjoyed the food. :) House Lo Mein came out piping hot, juicy and delicious. Included: shrimp, chicken and beef (along noodles with some vegetables). Crab Rangoon's were also piping hot, creamy and very yummy. I love the dipping sauce! I have to come back, I noticed another Yelp review showing some type of dumpling in a chili sauce, must try!!! :) I hope this great experience continues, I would love to come back when I am visiting this area! read more

Yes! Finally a good Chinese spot. I had been deferring to Panda Express for my local go-to but not anymore! WEI seems to be every bit the Chinese you want it to be. On my first occasion I arrived and ordered take out, the chicken lo mein. It only took about 5 mins before my order was ready. I got it back to the house and it was still pretty hot when I opened the dish. The lo mein was great! No surprise tastes, just the way I liked it. Will go again and try all my favorite dishes! read more

First time here because I heard a lot of good things. I came with my friends on a Thursday night. It was a slow night too. It was clean and seemed very authentic. We came mostly for the Peking duck to find out they didn't have any duck. We were soo sad! But we went ahead and ordered other things... Strawberry margarita: 10/10 worth it! I was feeling nice after just 1! Small plates: dandan noodles - 6/10 it was okay. Wished it was more flavorful. Small plates: salt and pepper calamari - 10/10 literally the STAR of the show! So bomb with so much flavors!!!!! Small plates: soup dumplings- 3/10 we had to wait for an extra 15mins for these to be made and it came out last. Made us think it was gonna taste good but it didn't! It had zero flavors! Won't be getting it again. 3/10 because it only had a good amount of meat and was cooked throughly. Large plate: three pepper chicken - 8/10 was good and spicy and had great flavors! Large plate: double cooked pork belly - 9/10 sooo good, we enjoyed it. Will come back to try the duck but definitely calling in to check if they have duck. read more

You know these Chinese restaurants where you get your food in 2 minutes because it's all in a big tub in the back? This is NOT that place! This is truly authentic handmade Chinese food. Everything was excellent. The dumplings and hot sour are so good. They were kind enough to take back the butter shrimp as it's mostly onions and I just don't do onions. I just asked if I could get them taken out but they offered a replacement instead...I was too full from the dumplings and soup though! A new favorite local spot! read more

I actually don't see how anyone could rate less than 5 stars. We had the Beijing beef and three pepper chicken and both with rice were fire. We will def be back for some well flavored and fresh Chinese food. read more

We tried WEI for the first time today for a pre-anniversary dinner, and it is now our very favorite restaurant EVER! Service is exceptional. Friendly, attentive, and they really go above and beyond. But the food... oh my goodness is it amazing!! Mongolian beef is by far the best we have ever had. Soup dumplings were pure perfection! Everything was unreal. We will be back often!!! read more

WOW!!! I normally don't choose to eat Chinese food unless it's authentic and REALLY a good. I kept seeing great reviews and had to try it for myself. Trust me, you need to come here. Was excited to try "authentic" Chinese food closer to home. Half duck (3/5): Duck didn't have much meat compared to other places I've been to. It is served with steamed buns with a side of sauce, green onions & cucumbers. Had someone roll out a cart & they cut it up for you at your table. Wood Ear Mushroom Salad (4/5): This was pretty good. Tasted like apple cider vinegar. Beef tendon/tripe (2/5): This dish was salty. I had to mix it into the mushroom salad to kill some of the saltiness. Soup Dumplings (3/5): These weren't too bad. Needed more soup in it. Best soup dumplings I've had were in NY & Philly. Overall service was good. Menu is huge. Our food came out quick also. 3.5 stars for food but would like to try hot dishes & noodles next time. read more

Like their sign says "Authentic". Food tasted great. Service was on point. Ordered over $70 worth of food and +20% tip. Shows I actually got what I paid for. I would say this place is better than Ming's bbq, taste of China, won won, Fung Mei, Royal China and all the others places in Pleasant hill Duluth area. As this place is new, I HOPE the restaurant reads this review and don't cheap out later, on their quality of food. For this Buford area, there's no competition for WEI, so keep that quality of food and it'll guarantee profitability and success in this area. read more

I ordered a combo fried rice, shrimp fried rice, and vegetable fried rice for delivery. This is some really great rice. The food order was correct, delivery fast, and food hot and fresh. My only complaints were the proportion was small and there were only 3 shrimp in the combo rice (which I had the beef removed and only had chicken and shrimp). It's a little pricey for a small container but very good flavor. read more

The food portions are very filling! The servers were incredibly nice and funny as well! They joked with me and my boyfriend and we have a very nice time. It is a small and intimate little place with dim lights, quiet music and beautiful decorations. It's also very clean including the restrooms. I highly recommend this place for date night! We even had leftovers! read more
This was a fun time for me and the family. We have been here before for take out but this was our first time dining in. The take out is delicious, but dining in by far better! The service was exceptional, you can tell they work as a team. We never went more than 1 minute with a glass needing a refill. The food was exceptional. The dandan noodles and mushroom salad are a favorite and I will be ordering those again. Everything is very flavorful without being covered in sauce. I believe the prices to be fair. We ordered 5-6 dished and with tip spent under $100. read more
