I decided to try out wegmans cafe even after the experience I had before, because I was already shopping there. Now let me share with those reading that I did speak to a manager after the experience I had before and he assured me he would have a talk with the employees and I should see some change in attitude. Well he is a man of his word. Today the service was exceptional. It wasn't hard to tell that something had changed. I was greeted with a warm welcome and offered assistance immediately. No Nonchalant attitude. I was very pleased. I felt welcomed not as if I was a burden. The coffee was perfect. I had to compliment the barista it was so good. I will be back every morning as before. Thanks to wegmans management team for following through on their promise and putting the customer first. If you haven't had their coffee or been to the cafe I suggest you do! read more

I love Wegmans! Their customer service is so much better than the other shops in the centre. I enjoy the music they play and whenever I ask a worker where something is, no only do they know where to find it but instead of pointing and saying "aisle 12", they will stop what they're doing and walk you to the product. I love that! And sometimes during the summer months there are awesome cover bands playing live music! And apparently this location is the highest grossing Wegmans in the country! This review is primarily for their hot bars for to go and eat in food. I gave one extra star because I like the entirety of the store, and generally Wegmans is awesome. But the dishes I got from the hot bar were not so good and ended up making me feel nauseous for the entire day. I got the Chinese steamed fish with garlic and ginger which had little flavor, and the little flavor it had was not good. I also tried the kale. It was pretty watery and bland. The stuffed mushrooms were ... well, I didn't even finish them. In my overall opinion, they need to up their game on these hot bars. Wegman's is pretty fantastic. The store is clean, the employees are helpful and they have such a selection. I love the fact that they accept coupons and have recipes you can access online. The pre packaged foods are fresh and delicious. The hot bar isn't my thing but I love the sushi selection. Whenever I host an event, I have to get the sheet cake! It is everything. So moist and delicious. The best cake from a grocery store. They can compete with any bakery. You can grab a bite to eat and sit in the lounge area and read or study. This review is for the kids play area. It's in the back of The Burger place. When you first enter this area it looks like a restaurant, people chatting, some working on their laptops, getting a nice lunch or just having an espresso and pastry. But if you walk towards the back, you will find the best part.... the KIDS AREA! Taking kids to a restaurant isn't easy, especially because they finish their meal (or if we're being honest, barely eat it) and then get restless. So you're left with rushing in order to leave before the scene gets crazy.... maybe too dramatic of an explanation?? But somewhat true. Haha. Well, Wegmans has the solution!! First the kids area has toys, and little tables for small children to play and also a TV that plays cartoons!! The kids can eat, or not, and you get to enjoy your time. Drink coffee. Work on your laptop..... or just sit there with a big smile on your face cause you get a break for a little bit!!! :-) Wegmans has pizza, a salad bar, a hot bar, sandwiches, sushi, burgers, crab cake sandwiches, plenty of kid friendly options too..... and really good quality coffee!! They also have an amazing selection of sweets. Cookies for the kids and specialty pastries for adults. You could make it into a family night, or even an afternoon rainy day activity. Sooooo pleased to finally have a place in my general 'hood to purchase foodie gems like red swiss chard, fingerling potatoes, rosemary/garlic/sea salt french bread, and oh yea...ridiculous splurges like tiny blocks of $6 cheeses that you can't NOT buy after sampling because they're so DAMN good. Wegmans at Woodmore Town Center is usually my favorite place for instant meals and grocery items. I shop there at least every 2 weeks. However, on my last visit, I was very disappointed to see that they have removed the sides/entree counter and replaced it with another open refrigerated case of their pre-determined meal solutions. I am not a fan of their pre-packaged potato salad or coleslaw. I rather have someone at the counter prepare a container of their fresh mustard potato salad and buy my protein items a la carte instead of buying a pre-fixed meal with two sides I don't like. Most of their local competitors have sides available at the deli counters. Since its 2010 opening, our PG Wegmans has made other changes that have caused me to raise my eyebrow. But this was one of the areas I really appreciate, other than the being able to get a healthy/hearty meal at the cafe. read more

This places doesn't feel like a real Wegmans. The staff are usually rude and items are almost always out of stock or poorly shelved or expired. There are some staff who are friendly, however, I come across more rude staff than welcoming staff at this Wegmans. This Wegmans needs to do better and I know hey can. They just need to step it up a bite Updated: April 15, 2018. Against my better judgement, I decided to stop by this Wegmans to grab some pre cooked grilled chicken. To my surprise, nothings changed about this place. It's still the worst Wegmans I've ever been to. The grilled chicken I went to purchase wasn't even cooked fully. It was literally pink but still had grill marks. Looks like they just seared the meat with grill marks and then took it straight off the grill seconds later. Chicken doesn't cook like steak you know. Nobody eats chicken, rare unless they want to die! They're going to end up killing someone with their laziness to attention and detail. Seriously though, uncooked "grilled chicken" for $15 bucks!!!! It's terrible enough that they jacked up the price from $10 dollars to $15 dollars. At least the chicken was cooked properly when it was $10 and the serving size was twice the amount. Now it's $15 and they give you smaller portions and sell it uncooked, which adds insult to injury. Please do better!!! I don't know who manages is Wegmans but they all need to be fired! Seriously! This grocery store needs a complete overhaul. I live in a nearby community, but prefer shopping at the Wegman's in Crofton or the new Whole Foods in Hyattsville. What turned me off from this location is the molded fruit and vegetables, expired salads and vegetables, poor stock replenishing, boxes of stock randomly in the aisles during peak hours with no one around, and many other things. The employees aren't rude but definitely unprofessional....cashiers talking to each other about personal things and issues at work while they scan your items. Like I said, this place needs an overhaul from top to bottom. read more

As I get older I hate going to the grocery store lol. However, instacart and Wegmans make getting your groceries super easy online. Due to my busy schedule, it's very difficult for me to get to a grocery store so I love that I am able to do all my shopping needs and leave comments to my shopper online. The window time for pickup is usually around 2 hours but sometime it can be sooner. Once your shopper completes shopping for your item(s), you'll get notification and you'll just hit the option that you're on the way so that it'll be ready when you get to the store. Once you arrive to Wegmans just pull up in there designated area in front of the pharmacy and call the number posted and someone will bring your items out. I forgot to mention there is no fees associated with picking up your stuff. Only your grocery cost and taxes. There are fees if you have your groceries delivered to your home or business. Overall, if you're in a crutch and can't go up and down isles looking for your groceries definitely use instacart and curbside pickup. read more

I called Wegmans a couple of times to see if they had any sugar-free wheat bread. They didn't but this morning I received a call from Devin, who works in the bakery department at Wegmans. He had saved my number from the caller ID and called to let me know they had some of the bread in stock. I really appreciate that he took time out to give me a call even though it was extremely busy in the store. I doubt if any other stores would have called the customers. My husband is diabetic and he immediately went to Wegmans and picked up what he needed. My mother in law kept asking me if I went to the new Wegman's and she said everybody was talking about how nice the store was. I was able to go on a Friday morning and the parking lot was super crowded! As soon as I walked in they had people giving out membership cards that look like you joined a prestigious country club. I walked in and I didn't know where to start. The store is HUGE! The variety is ridiculous! I never seen an organic section so big. They even have an organic chip and cereal aisle...that must be saying something! I was so impressed with the seafood section. They had stuffed salmon with seafood stuffing, spinach stuffing, almond crusted salmon, cajun salmon, teriyaki salmon....the variety was endless. The prices are very comparable to Wal-Mart, Giant and Safeway. It seemed like the left hand part of the store was busy because that is where they sell the hot prepared food, seafood, deli and meats. It's good to know they are opened from 6am to 12 midnight daily so I can come super early or late to avoid the crowd. I would rather pay extra for convenience then go through all the drama and headache due to long lines, crowds, parking and traffic.I wasn't able to see everything but I will go back closer to the time they open. I didn't expect to see so many people at 10:30 a.m. I was thinking, everybody must of took the day off or had a field trip just to come here. The check out section was very speedy. There wasn't any lines and all of the checkout lanes were opened. I'm thankful that they are building this nice shopping area in PG county. Getting food from here is a hit and miss situation. I think the dubs are good cold but the hot ones are awful. I've never had bad pizza. Well this Wegmans really surprised me. I'm from upstate NY where Wegmans originated so I know a thing or two about Wegmans. This location is a really good spot. I actually like it more than most of the others in Maryland that I've been too. This one isn't super busy, has lots of parking in the parking lots and has all of the specialty items you should need. I eat gluten free and dairy free and this location had a lot of products that other wegmans didn't carry. In addition, they had a really nice selection of organic produce and dairy which again, other Wegmans lacked. My only complaint is just like the pictures showed, there were some empty shelves. That's good and bad. Sometimes you can't find what you want, on the other hand you know what your getting has not sat for long. Good selection of premade and healthy foods too! This location is pretty much my go-to Wegmans. I live in Silver Spring and still drive here. I started when I lived in Bowie. This Wegmans ALWAYS has the lit music day or night. Matter of fact, when I was introduced to this location, the music was a selling point. I often find myself having a mini concert in the aisles lol. Overall, great location. Do NOT eat the sushi at this store. I got food poisoning from a spicy tuna roll that I ate here on 2/20/17. I ate a piece and noticed that something didn't taste right, so I took it back to the cashier. She took me back to the sushi counter, where I spoke to someone from that department (white guy, about late 30s). He apologized, offered me something else in its place and I was on my way. Though I felt strange pretty much as soon as I ate the first piece, throughout the day I became increasingly nauseous and developed terrible stomach cramps... along with a few other unmentionable symptoms. I thought it was something that would pass on its own with a little time, so I decided not to seek medical attention that day. The next morning, the abdominal cramps and nausea became more severe. I went to my doctor, who prescribed me medication to manage the symptoms until the toxins passed through my system. Because the symptoms were not continuing to increase in severity at the time of my visit (although they had between the previous night and that morning), my doctor did not see the needs for additional tests or antibiotics. (A piece of advice: If you ever become ill at this, or any other establishment, make sure to have your doctor order labs to confirm your illness. It will help you greatly when dealing with the people in corporate offices whose sole job is to make sure that the company avoids assuming responsibility (financial and otherwise) for a customer's illness. And speaking of which...) I spoke to their corporate office, and they said that because no one else got sick, they don't think their food is the culprit (strange... I felt just fine before I ate it) and they have refused to refund my medical expenses, citing in part, that I had no tests performed. Just because there was not a mass illness, does not mean the store is not responsible. I mean, how many times has someone walked around the store with a food item in their cart, decided at the last minute that they don't want it and put it on a shelf somewhere where it sits, unrefrigerated, for who knows how long. Then the stock clerks take these items and put them back in their respective sections of the store. Hardly outside of the realm of possibility. The point is that it doesn't need to be an entire batch of bad fish to make someone ill. All it takes is a single order of a food item to remain at the improper temperature for an extended period of time. Nevertheless, this incident, not to mention the way the corporate office has handled it, has ensured that I, and my family will never patronize another Wegmans store. read more

Huge grocery store with some awesome food counters. The have a reward program like most stores and grocery orders to go. The variety of food they have in the deli/meat area is amazing. Seafood smells and tastes great. I was amazed at how much food they had, especially with gluten free options. Prices seem comparable to other stores I have been to in the area.
