The layout of this location is very similar to the Aldi by my house. It was very clean, which made me think it was brand new until I saw that there are reviews here from 15 years ago! I believe the self checkout machines are new since the last several reviews don't mention them. I like to de them when I only have a handful of groceries. I stopped in after donating blood just to get milk, but of course I had to visit the Aldi Finds aisles. I was disappointed in their lack Easter chocolate selections. However, they had my favorite cookies once again. The Aussie style cookies are the bomb. The chocolate tastes like Belgium chocolate. Then as I was walking past the frozen case I saw my favorite salmon entree that I only find at Lidl. This salmon in a puff pastry is restaurant quality. It was $8.99. I would've bought two if I had more room in my freezer. This location is not on my way home, but next time I donate blood I will be back. read more

Good and cheaper store with limited produce but compare to other grocery store's? Aldi is better then the rest

ALDI... so I thought this was my first time. But actually, back in 2014, before ALDI was cool (right?) I stopped in one after picking up a friend. We were just getting juice, and I didn't really observe the store otherwise. Fast forward to now, LIDL has been missing some of my essentials, so I finally decided to check ALDI out since it's barely 5 minutes further out for me. Just a few feet in, and I immediately knew where everything was! There are two things I really like about this place: 1) The layout of the entire store - there is plenty of space between each aisle and they are neatly stocked. 2) The labeling for what's in each aisle - it is very easy to spot where things are since you have to be pretty blind to figure out where everything is. ALDI managed to have every single thing that LIDL was missing... my power greens, my bean and pea crisps, sweet potato chips, and even some hibiscus tea I had never seen before! It's nice to have this place as a secondary for shopping... I'm so excited! LIDL still has the upper hand for three reasons, however: 1) Rewards (self-explanatory) 2) It's half the distance from the house (though both are still very close) 3) Self-checkout. This is in reference to the Bowie, MD Aldi. I can't speak to the others. In the past ten years Aldi has done an amazing job of increasing the quality of their produce and meats. With that said, I avoid Clancy snacks (trash) and their fresh pork except the Italian sausage. As I think about it, the only meat I buy is the ground beef, and ground chicken which is of good quality. I find their other meats to be sub-par. HOWEVER. Their dairy and cheese section is exceptional. I keep their crumbled Bleu and feta cheese on hand at all times. read more

This location isn't on my normal travel area but worth checking out. The produce is fresh and good. I would purchase it here instead of Lidl (down the street). There are usually two or three rows of non food items. The pill containers are cheaper than Walmart or CVS for the same item. We bought a fire extinguisher for $14.99. The store is nicely laid out. The employees are nice. Don't forget your quarter to release the shopping cart. read more

I suppose I can't frequent this place as often as I do without updating the review. Let's be clear, when I first started patronizing this location, it really wasn't the greatest. However, it has gotten a major facelift! It appears larger, brighter, and I believe they have more speciality, organic and other foods than what they had before. The staff here are amazing and uber helpful. They are so engaging at the registers and are willing to chat if you're into that thing. Things still remain the same. You need a quarter for your cart, bring your own bags or be prepared to pay for them at the register. Oh and here is a good tip: Take a gander at their double guarentee. It's pretty awesome and it allows me to try so many new things without feeling as though I'm losing money. Also be aware of their specials. Although this location doesn't generally run out, at other locations it is best to get there closer to the day the sale starts or you may miss out. They do not replinish. This goes for the meat specials and the random home, appliance, etc. specials that they advertise. Have at it! read more

So many problems! I tried, I tried,I tried beacause its close to work and home. BEGGERS/HOMELESS men always out front asking for your cart to get the quaters. They dont take no for an answer. I have 2 toddlers in my cart and they come and beg. My impression is alcoholics.They are really dirty in appearance. Even tried to give my son a Hifive! Store security knows this in-fact the lady security guard is always inside sitting, where as the male security walks around and goes is outside. The parking lot is POORLY lit . I just dont feel safe especially when it gets dark early. AND for the food! Ewww the strawberries are furry and bananas are always black and spotty. ROTTEN! I started shopping at aldi because of the Bowie and Laurel Corridor locations. Ive since moved but will take the time and gas to go back. Maybe Ill try Lidel? read more

I'm a new Aldi fan as of 2020. I even have the large reusable bags that I use to shop at other stores as well. I like the items and prices, however, the lines are long on any day of the week at any time of day. There are multiple cashier's so it doesn't take too long. Today, I was taken back as my cashier didn't have a mask over her nose. I've also seen a sec. guard that does the same thing. Masks are to be worn over nose/mouth & I'm sure mgt. know's this but they need to enforce it. COVID measures was the first paragraph I saw, when I searched them on Yelp. DO BETTER ALDI. read more

Pretty standard Aldi, maybe a little larger than others. For those of you not yet familial with Trader Joe's stingy sister, Aldi is all about minimizing prices. Strong emphasis on house brands, most of which are close in quality to the name brands they compete with, a Quarter is needed as a deposit to use a shopping cart, and bags are not free - semi-reusable ones are 10 cents. Great deals on staple, forget anything even a step off the beaten path. Mostly usual layout and selection. Clean, plenty of boxes for those who forgot to bring bags. They opened a new register when the line got a little bit long. Plentiful parking and a light to get you back on the road. Teppanyaki buffet next door so you can avoid shopping hungry. I'm a big fan of Aldi, pretty low prices (smilar and quality products. Over the years their products have expanded to include more natural and organic products most of which I believe have transitioned over from it's sister company Trader Joe's. One the things I'm happiest about happens to be the stores that were recently remodeled and the fact they have more registers open at the same time and they way the isles have been opened up for easier navigation of the store. read more

If you're: A) on a budget, B) don't mind the aesthetics of a grocery store, C) and flexible in your shopping list, then you have to check out Aldis. This particular location, versus the one in Langley Park, is a bit more serene. While it does get crowded during peak hours, it isn't nearly as loud and stressful. The brands here aren't "name brand," but in my opinion they successfully rival those so-called name brands. If you're mindful of your health, there's a line called "fit and active" that I buy frequently. This includes nonfat plain yogurt (awesome for curries!), crackers, frozen sandwiches, dried fruits and nuts, Crystal Light-sorta mixes, etc. Aldis is excellent for inexpensive produce. The prices are about 50% what you'd find at a Safeway, so I always go to Aldis for onions, potatoes, mushrooms, lettuce, cucumbers, etc. If I buy in bulk, then I go to Costco, but sometimes, you don't need a 500lb bag of potatoes, ya know? There's ground turkey (93/7) and lean ground beef (93/7), as well as some beef cuts, pork chops, and a surprising variety of cheeses. Now, you won't find your fancy smelly aged cheeses here, but surprisingly they sometimes have goat cheese, as well as gorgonzola and blue cheese. It's also a killer place to get canned tomatoes, dry and canned beans, and whole wheat pasta. There's a lot of frozen items, including cakes and interesting-looking (never tried) German and Austrian desserts. Bring a quarter for the refundable rental shopping cart. There are boxes, like at Costco, for you to carry your groceries away. You can also purchase bags which I see many people doing. read more

I've found that I like their store-brand cereals. The chocolate cheerios is better than the name-brand one, in my opinion. I also like getting milk, cheeses, and canned goods here. I went to this Aldi on Tuesday afternoon around 4:17pm. When I checked out I gave the cashier Rena I thought was one twenty one five and one dollar. My bill was $25.88 so I thought I gave her exact change however when I went outside I realized there were three twenty dollar bills stuck together. I had four when I went in. I checked my receipt and it read I gave her $36.00 and was due $10.12 change. She only gave me .12 cent change. When I returned to the store the manager and her went into the back and bc my receipt said $10.12 that's all they returned to me. So instead of them being honest about it they took my money saying that was all her register was over. Instead of her putting in $66.00 she put in $36.00. God don't like ugly but it will come back to me ten fold. I will not shop at this store again because they should be honest. She was trying to hide what I gave her that's why she didn't give me the correct change for $36.00 if that's what I gave her. Why would I give her $36.00 for a $25.88 bill. Anyway watch your money when you pay at this location. read more

Typical Aldi's. This one is pretty big. Not fancy but the prices are awesome!!! I'm here atleast once a week!

Only issue I have is the beggars that hang outside harassing people that won't give them money or let them put their carts back so they can get the quarter. Pay you (a grown able bodied man) to watch me struggle to get my groceries and my son in my vehicle? I think not! This is my favorite neighborhood store. Its not fancy,but has great deals on produce and organic goods, and even artesian cheeses.
