Review Highlights - Giant Food

“The weird thing about this Giant is it's nestled in a shopping mall, so when you go through the entrance in the parking lot you end up in a mall and not a supermarket.”

Ok. Ok. So I've been hearing about how great Wegmans is from a lot of people. I have become…read moreobsessed with their sweet potato cake. I am not a sweet potato person but I can do sweet potato in a cake or rum cake version lol yes, it still counts lol. It's my cousin's birthday and we were chatting about the best dessert and we came up with a sweet potato cheesecake carrot cake so this is just the first part of that delectable birthday treat. I was able to look online to see if they had it in stock and it in stock whereas the rum version said may not be available. I was pleased to find out that the rum version was available so I decided to go with that. I was pleased I came down to this location on my way out of town. There were a lot of customers getting the ready meals and I know those are a big hit. I always take a peek and walk around that section to see if there's anything that I feel like is a good value or something that I definitely have to have. I never really see anything but I'm glad that a lot of people love these ready-made meals. I don't typically do self checkout but there was a self checkout right next to the side door I entered away from the main registers. So I decided to check out there and it went swift.

My first time in Wegmans and I thoroughly enjoyed it and I'm only visiting the neighborhood, but I…read morefound reasons to go back to the store. The only major shock that I had was buying hot food and bringing it at home. The sticker shock on my food had me frozen and stalled for a moment then I got passed it. They have everything in the store just a variety is varieties of produce and cheese and meat which I don't eat. The breads are beautiful; I've spent more time standing in the aisle than I should have just looking over stuff. Do not go to the grocery store hungry that's a general statement for all grocery stores, but particularly Wegmans. I was walking down the aisles planning in my head how big a sandwich I can make or should I go to the deli bar and have them make the sandwich. There's so many products to choose from such as bread, condiments, cheese produce, and a vegetable even my faux meats. Wegmans has their own brand of plant base meats. I can take all of the ingredients home and build it as big as I want and as sloppy as I want. It was just too much to consider but I'm glad I encountered Wegmans. I'm gonna miss it when I go back to the West Coast. My suitcase will be full of Wegmans food instead of souvenirs from the various sites of the area.‍‍

Some may think this is a discount grocery store and may snub this place because they are too good…read morefor discount groceries, however, that type of attitude just truly shows their own ignorance and haughtiness come out. Lidl was a chain started in Germany originally and then expanded all across Europe and now in 31 countries. You will find things here you wont find elsewhere and if you like European goods, you will definitely find some treasures here. The prices here are good, so thats one of the reasons that brings me in. But, also, they carry Greek, Spanish, French, Portuguese and other ex US products here which makes it fun to shop here and uncover new treasures! This store has limited edition section and it was fun to browse that as they have some European items that looked quite interesting, most Greek & French products. I took a look around their frozen section and even saw they had some frozen escargot (snails), which was super interesting for me to see! I didnt get any this time around, but may get some when I am back home. They also have lot of fresh flowers and plants for sale here and lovely to see these options for sale! My only gripe about this place is that everytime you come into the store, the fresh produce section always looks like a disaster and the floors super dirty. I wish they would clean this area up a bit better and make it more visually appealing. How hard is it to remove some empty boxes, mop the floors regularly and arrange the produce in an orderly manner? Id definitely come back again and always there is something interesting to discover.

This whole process took longer than if I would have done myself. When I was leaving I asked why he checked my items at self check and was told he was trying to move the line. There was no line before I got there or when I left. Customer service was very disappointing. I worked@grocery stores for 20 years and understand how they work and that was just rude.

You can NEVER make me hate Whole Foods! This location is such a great addition to the Riverdale…read morePark community. It's surrounded by so many unique businesses, making it easy to turn a quick errand into a whole little outing. I stopped by for an Amazon return and ended up enjoying lunch--some sushi and pizza--in a relaxed, comfortable setting. The staff was sweet, helpful, and quick to assist when I couldn't find an item. The area feels safe, although it can get pretty busy at times. Luckily, I was able to snag a parking spot in a prime location. Whether you're grocery shopping, grabbing a quick bite, or knocking out an Amazon return, this location makes it easy. Definitely one of my favorite spots in PG County.

Ive been here several times in the past and occasionally will come check out whats new here but I really don't like supporting Whole Foods too much as Im not an Amazon fan nor do I like to pay higher prices for items I can get elsewhere for cheaper. But, occasionally its a nice treat to come. They do have lots of baked goods that can be enticing and I do like their tres leches cake, which is well made and tasty. I got a slice of that on this trip here. We also got some fresh black mission figs (super yummy) and sampled a new fruit we didnt know about called a chocolate navel orange (also super yummy). My mom and I love fresh veggies and fruits and grocery stores are places we like to go together and explore. Its a special bonding activity that I have really come to cherish immensely over the years. We also got some mango fruit pops as my mom likes them. We are both lactose intolerant so dairy options are usually out of the question. I also saw a new product I have never seen, which are Ethiopian injera crisps and that looked super intriguing, so I bought some to try. Happy to report that they are delicious and definitely taste like injera! Overall, this is a solid super market and we like to come here occasionally to pick up fresh fruits, veggies, old staple items we enjoy and discover new products too!
