Who doesn't love Wegman's? I especially love their bakery and prepared food section. Now that it's just the two of us at home we get a lot of those foods for dinner. They're always fresh and tasty. Around various holidays they'll have foods particular to that holiday (I.e., Christmas cookies, Yule logs, etc.). Their chocolate cake is incredibly good and it's the perfect size for a family birthday celebration. And you can't beat their chocolate cream pies! Yum!! Their meats and seafood section are the best around, and the staff there is quick, helpful and knowledgeable. They have a huge section for fresh fruits and vegetables right when you walk in on the main level. They also have a very large section offering wines from all over. Be prepared to walk a lot as the store is huge, but the checkout lines are numerous so even at holidays they get you through fairly quickly. read more

If you are looking for a grocery store that is above par then wegmans is your best bet :) I have always gone to wegmans over giant and Safeway because their food is always fresh and of the best quality plus there's a huge selection. They also have things not always available at your typical grocery store which is nice . I use a certain chocolate for making my mochas with my Nespresso machine and I can only find it here and at world market not giant or Safeway . Their bakery and hot foods selection is top quality . I also love how they have a fair amount of organic and regular fruit selection. Their store is always clean and they have great customer service . I also like their hours of operation . My favorite staff member is the older man who works at the seafood section. He always is so kind and shows me the best cut of fish and has a great explanation for any questions I might have . Bonus points for pre cut selections such as their pre cut fruit and green onions among other things which make cooking on a school night so easy . read more

I have disabilities. I shop at Wegman's a few times a few times a week. EVERY time I go in there they have moved things and it takes me an extra 30 minutes to find where they moved it. This makes it so hard for people with disabilities. I was so peed off last night because they moved something. My health is not good and my heart & lungs not good. Spent an extra 20 minutes that trip trying to find something they moved. This is NOT convient for people with disabilities. But why should they care. They keep moving things. Pharmacy is horrific. Long waits for prescriptions and 20 min wait for a flu shot and finally pharmacist shows up and hands me a form to fill. I just spent my first time at Wegmans and let's just say I was wonderstruck, definitely not your typical Trader Joe's. There were many options to eat for a meal and I found most of them fairly enjoyable before I began my shopping. It was busy but I couldn't be one to judge because of the nearing thanks giving. People were friendly and helpful and I see myself going there again, definitely recommend. For anyone looking for cons I will say it was overwhelming at first, so many options and information in your face all at once. I love this Wegman's just as any other. This is the modern day grocery store. There is even a café. You know that they love to spoil their customers by offering them pre-washed and cut vegetables. Though they are pricey, some would prefer them in that they do save time and effort in this busy life. Besides this, there really is not anything that Wegman's does not offer. It's nice to avoid the crowds at night to order from the pizza/ deli bar, but it's no fun waiting when they have to finish their side work (they may or may not acknowledge you to let you know that they will be right with you). The variety of baked goods rivals any local bakery, they can be pricey, but worth the price. So much flavor is included so that you are not buying a blah pastry item. The breads are fresh and have lots of variety... I love that they provide half loaves for those that do not want to invest in an entire loaf. So considerate! There are a great selection of everything in every category there. It's like a step above ACME where you have a gourmet flare and they cater to your diet plans ( i.e. vegan, keto, gluten-free, etc.) and visiting the bulk foods is a must! The parking and availability of carts is ample, the service is very friendly, the store is clean and roomy, well stocked, the check out process is great. The only downer is the number of customer kamikaze shopping carts that come out of nowhere when you are shopping. Wegman's should have a training class for customers that drive their carts like they do their vehicle in the DMV. I have been shopping at Wegmans for some time now and their selection can't be beat. I ordered Wegman's grocery through a shipping delivery service due to Covid-19 and they appear to have most items listed in stock. Their fruit and vegetables were fresh and they had multiple other choice options when certain items were not in stock. Overall, 90% of my requested items were available. Of course, going into the store may offer more unique items (for example they were out of certain bakery items when I looked for delivery), however I was overall impressed with what they had to offer for delivery. Will continue shopping there for delivery, especially for the fruits and vegetables. While they are a little more pricey for these items, I have experienced delivery from other grocery stores in which their produce is not as fresh. Always had a good experience here, which is why I'm giving it 3 stars. But tonight, we were refused service by the rudest employee I've ever encountered. His name was Joshua and he was working the self check out. He said that the members of our party were being rude which is why he denied our purchase. All 3 members of my group work in the service industry and we are always nice and courteous shoppers. I wasn't impressed though its a store I've been hearing about for years. I notice aisles tooo tight, tooo crowded and patrons really Virginia Smart. The Dinning areamakes a nice place for a long snack from the store. In the eatery I found the prepared food options not as grand as it appears though well cooked and nicely spiced. The Kooks make it look festive with the big Cook Hats they wear. I do find a place a bit big and confusing yet the staff do their best to make things easy. read more

It's amazing that when the store closes at midnight, all of the departments are long closed at 9. I guess it's unthinkable to a Wegmans manager that people would want to shop at night. Half of the aisles were blocked with pallets, making moving through the store impossible. When you could find an employee, they were more concerned with closing tasks (3 hours before closing) than giving any service. read more

They also have an Asian section with some of the popular vegetables like yuchoy, Chinese broccoli, baby bokchoy and some fresh noodles. Prepared foods area has subs, pizza, wings, salad bar, Asian hot foods, vegetarian options, sushi, hot soups etc. Many people come just to eat dinner there. I generally love Wegmans and have a good relationship with many of the front-end crew. But yesterday when I was in, the associate helping at the self-service terminals decided to try to manage the lines. That's a good thing, but she was oblivious to her surroundings, and started pulling in people who had arrived after I and others had. When I asked the associate to take persons in the order they arrived, she ignored me and turned her back on me. And when I wrote to the store, I didn't even get the courtesy of a response. Ever since I started working in Fairfax, Wegmans' hot food bar has become my saving grace. They take all of the guess work out of the age old question: What should I eat for lunch? Recently, I find Wegmans very useful. I have noticed more and more food items here at Wegmans that I cannot get at other supermarkets like Whole Foods, Trader Joe's, Giants, etc. Those are typically foodie items such as truffles, Wagyu steak, Kurobuta Birkshire pork belly, good quality tuna for sashimi and sushi (at the sushi corner) Littleneck clams that I use for my Vongole spaghetti are always from Wegmans these days. They have the better quality clams than Whole Foods, or any other stores in my opinion. The size of the littleneck clams are still bigger than the ones available in Italy and Japan but smaller compared to the ones sold at Whole Foods. Their beer & wine selection is very attractive too. And once again, I would like to mention their covered parking at the lower level. This comes in handy for rainy days so you don't have to get wet, and in the hot weather so the food will not be cooked with the heat while you drive back home. I love Wegmans Fairfax! read more

Marketing geniuses make this shiny store a place you want to go. * Produce is fantastic, particularly the seasonal berries and organics. In summer, there's a stand full of local veggies, hydroponic lettuces and beautiful fruit. * Baked goods -- four giant muffins for $4 are my favorites, and you can't go wrong with any of the breads, cookies or desserts. * Prepared foods -- favorites are the soups; soft pretzels topped with lobster or crab; and seasoned/marinated chicken breasts. The staff is knowledgeable and extremely helpful. Once I was buying a standing rib roast, and the butcher helped me select the cut and size I needed, then trimmed the bone off and tied it back on. That way, I got the bone flavoring during roasting but was able to easily snip it off and carve the roast without having to navigate the bone. That's the kind of service that makes this place stand out over the competition. Where do I even start? Wegmans is the Walmart of supermarkets with plenty of variety. From organic and healthy foods, a seafood bar, hot foods bar, bakery and pastries (their awesome and delicious fruit tart is my go-to for potlucks and it's always a hit), cheeses, regular foods, and so much more -- I really wish Wegmans was a closer distance to where I lived. (Psst... Word on the street is that they're opening a Wegmans in the Springfield/Kingstowne area sometime in 2014!) The basement/downstairs is packed from floor to ceiling with different types of wines, beers, and sakes, and spirits. You can even purchase pre-cooked Thanksgiving-style meals during the holiday season! As other reviewers have mentioned, the weekends here are pretty crazy. Parking is plentiful, but going through the store can be a pain sometimes. Skip the mayhem and go during off-peak hours. Wegman's gives a whole new name to grocery stores. This store has everything! I knew and cared very little for wine, but have since been educated and invited to free wine tastings at Wegmans. I am still partial to Soju (rice wine) but Wegmans also has a good selection of that as well! The food by the ounce is pricey, so i generally avoid taht, BUT the best thing Wegmans has (for me) is the pre-prepared food to go (heat and eat). As a single person, it saves a huge amount of time and money to be able to have an individual meal that tastes (and is essentially) home made. I can finally get an instant meal that i can devour and enjoy that ends up only being a dollar or two more than the heat and eat frozen mac and cheese. There are some items in wegmans that can be a bit pricey (truffles), but if you keep an eye out you can get good deals on certain types of foods and brands (i.e. certain types of meat are cheaper, like i believe their house brand chicken is a good deal but their beef is not as much of a deal). Wegman's has a very good selection of international foods as well. Granted it's not as eclectic as walking into your hole in the wall indian/vietnamese/etc. local shop, BUT for a big grocery store i am very impressed! I love love love stuff like Pocky, and other random asian candies and wegmans has that and then some. The only good thing about this place is the young man that stopped what he was doing with the carts and came over to help me get my groceries in the car. This nice young man and I had a delightful conversation. How pleasant. Made my day! I believe his name was Jacko. Otherwise, the place is always busy with people out for themselves. The pharmacy is a nightmare. They forget about your prescription even if you're right in front of them. People and workers are too snobby and don't care about the customers. I had heard mixed reviews from a few friends long ago but never experienced it for myself until now. It's fabulous. I was blown away with the deli options. Why would anyone ever cook around here? If you tried everything offered, it might take you a year to try it all. The prices are great and they have a huge selection of items including their generic brand which is cheaper than cheap cheaps. They're going to put the dollar store out of business at this rate. They even have outdoor furniture and all the plastic ware for the summer. I have never actually shopped for groceries in a Wegmans so this review is only for the Food Court area of Wegmans. The store is huge and other than the entrance and exiting path and parking I was very impressed. I had told my girls how fun I thought Wegmans Food Court was so we were in the area and hungry so we stopped by. Everyone found something to take back to the hotel with us. We gathered some things from the hot bar, bakery and Pizza section and headed out. The hot bar selections were very good. The Hoisin Pork was surprisingly delicious. The Chili Verde and Chicken Curry were also very good. The wife just loved the Pecan and Pecan raisin rolls. She enjoyed them for a couple of days. The couple of slices of NY style pizza I got were very good too. Their Food Court has very tasty and unique items that can make for a great lunch and or dinner. PROS: i just love the atmosphere. this is NOT your ordinary supermarket. they have EVERYTHING. i was looking for mussels and clams at my local asian supermarket.. and they only had FROZEN ones. so instead, i went to Wegman's.. got fresh seafood. the food is always fresh and of the highest quality. they have delis, salad bars, asian food bars, fresh sushi made infront of u.. it's like you're in another country. CONS: prices are sometimes a bit higher than other supermarkets.. but if you buy wegman's brand.. it's definitely cheapest around. parking lot is always packed. i recommend parking in the basement garage. but dont steal my spot!! it's against the wall! read more

In Virginia it's required to wear a mask on everywhere you go, but they should really have security's in any of the entrances. When I went to the wegmans there were so many employees until I saw this one guy who wasn't wearing a mask and it would be nice if the employees ask the guy to wear a mask, wegmans should be a little bit more safe, but some of the employees were actually really friendly. read more

The 3 stars I'm giving Wegmans is solely for the Fairfax location. I have been to other Wegmans stores in the area that I would easily rate in the 4-5 star category. The issue I have with the Fairfax location is that it is just far too congested all around. It's virtually impossible to find a decent parking spot unless you go on a Friday evening, or some other random time. The way the store is organized, particularly the produce section, is akin to being in rush hour traffic on I-66. You have to literally engage in a game of frogger just to make it from one end of the produce section to the other without hitting someone else's cart. Many of the newer Wegmans locations have ample parking and have organized their stores with wider aisles, which has made a world of difference. Honestly, the only time I venture to this location is either at an odd time when I know it's bound to be fairly empty, or when I'm absolutely desperate. read more

What can I say that hasn't already been said? Wegman's is wonderful!! It's like two grocery stores in one: half of it is gourmet stuff like upscale baked goods (think fruit tarts and creme brulee), deli to die for, stuffed chicken breasts and pork chops and all sorts of items that will make you look like Martha Stewart in the kitchen. This side of the store has the scrumptious Chinese food buffet (watch that - you can load up on all of the yummy Chinese options and end up with a $20 lunch bill!), a hot food/cold food buffet, sushi bar, seafood bar, and wine and cheese tasting area. Wow - sometimes I never get past that side of the store! The other half is more or less like your average grocery store, only better. Prices are surprisingly reasonable and the choices are amazing. They even have a Jelly Belly and Salt Water Taffy bonanza area, with bins and bins filled with each a different flavor, so you can mix or match to your heart's content. I think Wegman's has come a long way since they started out in Rochester NY as a small local grocery. Kudos to them for doing such a great job! read more

I got some groceries from this location and was craving pizza at the time on 11/8. The pizza smelled amazing coming home, but something didn't taste right. I just figured it was from the cheese or mushrooms used gave it the smell. Come to find out, the 2nd to last piece had a mushroom I couldn't bite through. Yes the purpose of curbside pickup is saving time but its easier to check and correct than to get home and have to go back.
