Usual Trader Joe's with the usual level of crowds but it's in a large shopping center so you don't have to worry about finding a parking spot and might even be able to pick up something a Total Wine or another store here and avoid a separate trip. Nothing special her but it's fine and does the job if you're in the area. read more

Well, I like Trader Joe's so much that I decided I could not ever live someplace that did not have a Trader Joe's very close by! And the one that I go to here on Main Street the people who work here are just terrific. Very helpful. My only complaint is that they put the tunafish on the bottom shelf. It just doesn't make sense. They have four different kinds of tuna fish. It's very hard to read very small print on the cans. I am in my 80s and it's very difficult to bend down and see which is which. But I just can't convince them to put them on a higher shelf. But if that's the least of my complaints, I guess I should count myself lucky! read more

Do I like this Trader Joe's? Yes I do. Yet what the heck is going on over here? Is everyone off of work in the area, any day and any time while shopping for groceries? It is frustrating! This store is a madhouse. Glad their profit margin must be pretty good, and to their credit, I like their employees and products. The Trader Joe coffee and bagel pizzas are delicious. Some of the microwaved goods are tasty, and I like their candies. These are on the top of shelves, and I so want to avoid this temptation. I do wish it was less busy. Parking can be a headache. Hoping someone will comment here, with a suggested time to go shopping at this location. It's a funky and fun place, but the crowds deter me, as sadly most of their products are reasonable cost. read more

I am utterly obsessed with their Steel Cut Oatmeal located in the frozen food section of the store!! To the point that I had tunnel vision once I entered the store, I grabbed everything else I needed and overlooked the oatmeal. Feeling distraught because I thought they were sold out, I made my way to the register. The lovely lady who checked me out asked if I found everything I was looking for. I advised her of my dilemma, she told me to protect my ears, she rang the cow bell and a gentleman came over and off he went to come back with five boxes!!! Total teamwork at its best and a good customer service experience. The store is a little smaller than most. Parking is horrible to say the least. Tight parking spaces, you feel like you are parking on top of each other. I would say park out and walk in but the shopping center stays crowded so that might be a mute point. read more

It's Trader Joe's - nuff said, lol! Seriously, love me some TJ. TJ's Fairfax - Pickett Shopping Center. This is one of a couple locations that I frequent but they are always well stocked, great selection, samples to try if you dare, and a genuinely helpful & courteous staff to assist you, should you need it. I love how they have the most unique & seasonal items that make you look forward to a lot them returning each year or finding a new gem. They also have a really nice variety for every diet/lifestyle & the frozen section is the bomb. The only place they are lacking is the household section but they are not known for that so it's not a big deal. This particular location has a constantly crowded parking lot and only one way/exit out so be prepared. Love you, Trader Joe's! So much so that I found a TJ t-shirt at a thrift store and my son wears the heck out of it. It's one of his favs! Hmmmm...maybe I should work there PT. read more

Over the past year, the Fairfax Trader Joe's has cemented a special place in my heart. So much so that my daughter has nicknamed it with the familiar moniker, "Uncle Joe's." Unlike other TJ's, the parking spaces are wide open and even on busy days you don't feel like your heels are about to get hacked by a shopping cart. The employees here offer the same amazing, friendly TJ's experience that they are known for -- but they often go above and beyond the call. On Valentine's Day, I overheard a customer get irate with an employee over the cost of flowers and he completely kept his cool even though I wanted to step in and pop him out! I recently lost my purse -- keys, wallet, everything! -- at the store. A few days later, I received a phone call from my credit card company letting me know that an employee found it at the store and gave me the best information to contact them. They are simply the best! I have continued to do my grocery shopping among the weeks leading up to coronavirus lockdown and the employees have been dutifully stocking up the shelves early in the morning and handling each person and long lines with a smile. It's great to rely on these unsung heroes of sunshine in these stressful times. The founder of Trader Joe's, Joe Coulombe recently passed away but his legacy lives on. Exciting products at a good discount to the customer, great employee hourly pay + benefits, and an overall feeling of euphoria whenever you leave the store. I could go on and on about how I love Trader Joe's but instead I'll leave you with my favorite items to pick up in the store the next time you are around: + Chocolate Croissants (in the freezer section) + Southwestern Salad Mix + Teeny Tiny Avocados (paired best with Everything Bagel seasoning and Tuscan Pane Bread) + Marinated Chicken Schwarma (paired with their flatbread, romaine lettuce, tomato, and tzatiki sauce) + Buffalo Chicken Dip + Chocolate Covered Cherries + Mochi Nuggets You are the real MVP TJ's! For years, Trader Joe's has claimed that none of their products are GMO. However, they are selling fresh GMO corn. How can you tell? Corn is supposed to only grow one ear, a GMO corn has one or two offshoots that look like a little bitty corn, but never actually form into one. This is the tell-tail sign and GMO corn is being sold at Trader Joe's in Fairfax. I spoke to the product manager, and they assured me that testing is done. When I asked to see the results of the testing, she said they could not give me that information. She told me that I should "just trust them." This actually makes me not trust them. When we are talking about a food item that enters my body, and they will not tell me the results of their testing, it tells me they are hiding something. Sadly, this makes me not trust any of their other products that also claim to be non-GMO. I will not be shopping at Trader Joe's anymore. read more

Our neighborhood Trader Joe's, and certainly the best one in the area! Love the offerings and unique TJ products, and all at a reasonable price point. Layout is easy to navigate and the staff are super helpful and nice. Only downside is sometimes TJ's produce deteriorates quickly compared to other grocery stores. read more

3/16/19 Looks like the place has been upgraded a bit. I see many smiling of many associates who work there, but I don't see the two brothers who I saw last time. My first time at Trader Joe's and I FINALLY understand the hype! Don't know why it took me so long to come here! It was very clean, organized, and suprisingly affordable. I was surprised at the amount of my bill after all the stuff in my bag! They have this cute little corner called "Joe's" something...corner/deli? I forgot. They were giving out some samples: cheeses, cheese bite crackers, and tomato soup WITH corn chile salsa which was SO good! We bought everything we sampled. Not to mention, the staff was so nice. All the staff I ran into--the person who directed me to where I wanted to go, the person giving out tbe samples, AND the cashier. I couldn't find gluten free bread but I did find the gluten free chocolate chip cookies! The cookies are SOOO good. I hope to find the gluten free bread next time! I stopped by today on my way home thinking it would look nice, but the store was just in complete disarray and there were a lot of things out of stock. It looked worse than before. This place seems always full to capacity but the speedy checkout give speedy Gonzales a run for his money! The selection of food is good and I really like the crew recommendations. I purchased cookies they had recommended and they're very yummy. The young workers seem upbeat and enthusiastic to work there, just wish they would share their jolly feelings with shoppers who are feeling blue. Trader Joes is just the best! I get most of my produce there once a week. It is incredibly fresh and reasonably priced! The spices selection is amazing. I make a lot of charcuterie boards and TJs is my go to for everything. There is a huge selection of meats and cheeses at great prices as well as a great selection of unique crackers. Best deals are the orange chicken and the Indian dishes in the frozen section that are perfect for lunch portions. They unconditionally guarantee your satisfaction or you get your money back. This Trader Joe's is located in the Pickett Shopping Center, right off of Main Street. It's a busy plaza, so the grocery gets a lot of high traffic, making it pretty cramped and packed! I've also noticed that the staff seems to have difficulty in restocking the shelves, as most of the items that I usually get are either out completely, or have not been shelved (such as the chips, the mac & cheese, the burritos, etc.). Staff are still friendly, and the cashiers try to do the best that they can to get the lines moving and be efficient. This place takes a lot of my money. I go here when I'm happy, mad, and sad. Heck, I go there even when I don't need to buy anything. Trader Joe's is my grocery store-obssessed impulse buyer's dream and my wallet's nightmare. Need salad? Check. Cheese? Check. Candles? Charcuterie? Frozen vegetables? Killer skincare? Chocolate? The list goes on. I've become that person who makes notes in her calendar to be on the lookout for certain seasonal things to make sure I can stock up. I've always received great customer service and TJs quality is fantastic. Don't like it? Bring it back, no questions asked. Have a question? Ask anyone to help and they will drop everything. Did you say you want a sample? They do those, too! The obsession has reached a new level for me as of late -- Trader Joe's has a podcast where they talk about all things TJs. It's a very organized store even tho the flow of people is so big. Really friendly staff willing to help you find anything you need. Managers are very polite and kind. I'm part of the Hispanic community and I have never felt so welcome in any other grocery store. The music in the place is never overwhelming and makes your experience more interesting and chill. The staff here is amazing! As I was shopping today, my baby threw her toy on the ground. An employee grabbed it and offered to clean it. She gave it back to my baby and I was so touched. The manager is super friendly and the cashiers were quick and efficient with checking out and bagging, all while asking about my weekend plans. The store had everything I was looking for. I got a lot of meals for $160 - can't beat the prices at Trader Joe's. Excited for their fall flavored foods to come out for the season soon. Of course their parking lot is treacherous, as all Trader Joe's parking lots are, but glad they had a 30 minute spot for me to zip in and zip out. Have always enjoyed coming to Trader Joes, and the TJ's on Main St has been my go-to for the past year. There are many staff on the floor who are constantly re-stocking and organizing, and they'll help you find whatever you're looking for. They have a good selection of items, but not too much to cause decision paralysis. I personally don't come here for raw meat products because it's cheaper to buy meat in bulk at places like Costco or Safeway. But otherwise, TJ's has a pretty good selection of produce, snacks and drinks. The garlic naan and the orange chicken (both in the frozen section) are personal favorites! read more

They do not honor price inconsistencies! Very disappointed in my recent shopping experience here as I am a long time Trader Joe's fan. I came here and shopped for an item thinking it was a certain price based on checking the price tag, however Trader Joe's made a mistake and had the wrong tag out apparently because it rang up higher in their system. I was surprised to see that I was not given the price difference of the price I saw and that they had listed. The cashier said she couldn't make the price adjustment? Usually when this happens though, at Harris Teeter, Giant, or really ANY other grocery store, they will honor their prices. If your prices are not even aligned with what you're stating, then how can you even trust that what you're being charged is correct, especially if Trader Joe's will refuse to do anything about it? I didn't want to ask to speak to a manager at the time because I figured I didn't want to hold up everyone else in line, but maybe I need to communicate this up to Trader Joe's because this is very surprising that they don't honor the prices they have listed. The prices are right, there are bangin samples, there are always new products (check out the FEARLESS FLYER), and they got a renovation last year that made it even bigger and easier to navigate! Even with a stroller! Trader Joe's is always part of my grocery stops and these items are always on my list: chicken tiki masala, butter chicken, lemon grass spring rolls & spinach & kelp dip! They have unique and wide variety of food choices and most of the time you'll find staff offering free samples to tease your tastebuds. Their staff are all so pleasant! I am 66 and a 100% Disabled Navy Female Veteran. Today I went to Trader Joes to just get two boxes of the Moroccan Mint Tea which I use a lot lately due to stress and stomach upsets. I went and there was a hugh line and the guy at the door told me it could be a 20 minute wait. I am disabled and can't stand in line more than 5 minutes without getting in extreme Pain. I went to my car and called the store to see if there was any help I could get. The Awesome Young Male Manager was very helpful. Since I knew what I wanted he let me in to get it. I really appreciated his attention to my needs and the stress the whole store is under due to these trying times. I was sad I forgot his name but I was there about 2:30 today, March 21, 2010. I love the items here that you cannot find anywhere else. Their orange chicken is to die for as well as their hot spiced chai. I would not go anywhere else for groceries. Parking is a nightmare but I can deal with it. Staff is usually generally very friendly had a few bad experiences today but generally very friendly. However, I did not like the attitude the woman gave me when sampling wine because I was young. ID me thats fine but ignoring that I am there wanting to try a wine sample before I purchase it and greeting other shoppers was rude. I love Trader Jo's but really not a fan of this location. The parking lot is a nightmare since it is located within a strip mall with busy shops. I will say that afterwards you will need a quick stop at Total Wine and More to feel better about all the people, traffic, and congestion. I also wish this location could expand their store size. It seems it is more crammed then other locations. Maybe I am just spoiled with the M st location in DC or Reston. read more
