Solid Indian grocery store for this area. Everything was very organized and easy to find and they had a pretty solid selection. You will find more out in Herndon/Ashburn etc but this is really great for being a little closer. They also have a fresh food counter with chaat, biryanis etc.

Our local Ashburn Asian grocery store is operating only as a take-out which means little to no selection of groceries and/or vegetables so we decided to drive 30 minutes to Fairfax to India Bazar where our family also shops. It was our first visit and we are so surprised! Located at the intersection of Route 50 and Route 29, in a large parking lot. On entering there is hand sanitizer and then it's a very clean modern grocery store with everything we needed and more. Fresh vegetables to choose from :snacks both in large barrels as well as packaged; Indian sweets refrigerated; a large selection of ice-creams; tons of spices; biscuits and other snacks; teas and coffees...basically a large supermarket. I was really happy to see gloves so bought a few. Nice there was no limit as in other stores. And a clean bathroom to use. Even if it is an hour round trip, we have found our supermarket to go to and highly recommend to others as you will see by the pictures.

Hello Everyone, My brother is sick and vomiting after eating sweets I purchased from this Indian f'ing store (India Bazaar) at location: 10980 Fairfax Blvd, Fairfax, VA 22030 yesterday it is selling used & unsafe sweets to customers and it needs to be investigated and seized by FDA. I will report it to them and you will be sued. Here is the picture of used sweets box picture below:

Best Indian grocery store in the DMV. They have everything an Indian cook might need.

I went on a weekend morning and it was very easy to find good parking and it was not crowded inside. It is nice that NoVA has a Japanese grocery store as big as Marufuji. I wasn't able to spend a whole lot of time here, but I was able to get an onigiri and a drink from the back. I had to pay for onigiri at the front of the store, but paid for the drink at the cafe. There is a designated food court area with plenty of tables and seating. The onigiri was really good and the Japanese rice was satisfying to eat. It is clean inside and well organized. I got sliced cloud bread for $5.99 for 4 slices. That's pretty steep price for bread. LA and NJ has stores like Mitsuwa and Daiso. Perhaps one day in the future for NoVA?

There's a whole refrigerated area for ready-to-eat food like onigiri and katsu, along with a bakery, cafe, and a small food court area. My friend and I stopped by for lunch earlier this week. The markup is kind of crazy for cafeteria food, but he was really missing Japanese food from his recent travels. There's a variety to order from, and the food was served quickly after ordering. UNI IKURA RICE BOWL - 29.99 This was one of the current specials, and I love uni so I couldn't resist. There wasn't a whole lot of uni or ikura (half of the bowl was more so decoration items like sprouts, ginger, a whole leaf, and wasabi) with lots of rice underneath. The rice was the perfect texture, and after seasoning it a bit with some soy sauce, it was just right. The uni wasn't the most fresh, but the ikura was decent. Overall, good, but just not worth the price for what you get. My friend got a tonkatsu curry rice, a croquette appetizer, and a slice of cream roll cake for $5 less than how much I spent on my single uni ikura rice bowl. The tonkatsu curry rice was quite good, and only $14.98, which is really good for today's economy. If I'm ever back for the food, I'll definitely get the tonkatsu.

Having relocating to a new office in the area, I was craving some authentic Chinese food for lunch. Upon walking into the supermarket, I knew something smelled different. Gone (or under repair) is the wet market. No fish in tanks, no turtles swimming around and no clams or crabs over ice. Honestly, the place smelled better. However, was the restaurant with the roasted meals and Chinese entrees still there? Yes! $8.49 for a meal of rice and 3 your choice of sides (1 veggie + 2 meat choices), plus a soup. I added a ginormous sesame ball (filled w red bean paste. I was hoping for lotus but yeah for price of $1.99 not happening). Total of $11.11. What did I get? Beef tendon with radish (mostly if not all radish and chuck). I'd pass. Eggplant. Yep, I'll get again. Pork patty. Yep, I'll get again. A soup came with the meal. It was tomato. It was OK. So, will I come back again for a box lunch and sesame ball? Yep, I totally will!

A lot of these foods are really familiar, and the selection is just so far and wide. I especially love how everything here is true to the ingredients and the pure authenticity of what the food is. Everyone we saw were delighted to greet the folks behind the counter cutting cold cuts, or just to show the sheer amount of pierogi they were stocking up on. At the counter, we ordered from their menu which had a very delicious borsht. It came pipping hot with some dill, and the veggies were nice and cooked down. The sampler is a must try if you want to get a good sense of the foods they offer, really enjoyed the varity of kielbasa and the hot mustard it comes with to dip. Gołąbki was generously filled and pan fried served with stove top potatos. A lot of their pastries are either imported or made in house, and it came in a good variety like poppyseed flavor. We enjoyed the food in their eating nook and enjoyed the really peaceful views of the strip mall. Really here for the homey vibes, something for just about anyone who is missing these nostalgic flavors. Thank you for the wonderful meal!
