Thai food inside. The store I mean.
    Fox E.

We have f***ed up this world, very thoroughly. Manassas is one of the epitomes of that statement. Ugly gridlock traffic with endless shiny new obnoxious suburbia. You know what we need? We need to start over. We need a Fresh World. Well guess what. Manassas has one. Fresh World is one of my favourite grocery stores in all of the DMV. I come here whenever I can. They have excellent fruits, although some are not such great quality, but what a great selection, including Satsumas! My beloved! Usually they have good prices on produce compared to the major chains and even the other International Grocery Stores. There's also a pretty good Thai restaurant inside here. I don't have any Thais to that business, I'm just being honest. However the main reason I like this place so much is the employees. They are absolute angels. If the VS Angels were all Latinas and all worked in grocery stores, they'd be these girls! I adore them! They seem to adore me as well! They all gather round the check out when I'm, well, checking out and, well, check me out while I, well, check them out. I like speaking Spanish to them and we all like flirting with each other. Good times. Anyway, time to move on to a Fresh review.

First time shopping at Oh! International Food Market,…read more I visited for a very targeted reason - I was preparing to make a craft cocktail that required an ingredient that is not carried by regular grocery stores: Orange Blossom Water. I walked in and started looking for the item. Upon coming across the first employee I encountered - I asked for assistance. The gentleman knew exactly where the item was and led me straight to it! I need to come back and check this place out for general items and at a more leisurely pace. Paid with Apple Pay. Service was great! #OhMarketInternationalFood

The hubs and I came here to have an early lunch, in which we were able to explore different eateries - they were fresh and tasty! We also took a gander, and purchased a couple of tupperware, some dishcloths, and snacks. I really liked the set-up of the grocery, as there was ample amount of room to move around, the items were well-stocked, and the place was super bright & cheery. There were a number of registers, but even with 2 cashiers, the line moved along. Everyone was welcoming and friendly! Make sure you check out their deals, mostly located by the front. Plenty of parking in the shared plaza lot. +friendly staff +small food court +plenty of parking in the shared plaza lot

Annual Manassas International Food Festival - pavilion

    Annual Manassas International Food Festival

    (1 review)

This Festival goes under few different names: The church website calls it "Greek and East…read moreFestival", the host (Harris Pavilion) calls it "Annual Manassas International Food Festival," and earlier versions on the Facebook called it "Old World" festival. These are all good names for this Nativity of Our Lord Carpatho-Russian Orthodox church fundraiser. In a conversation with one member I learned that this is one of those orthodox churches that do not have the National denomination (Bulgarian Orthodox, Russian Orthodox, Greek Orthodox, etc...) as it caters not just to the first generation of immigrants but more to all generations and all people with the Orthodox fate, with no consideration of the national borders. I learned that they have one mass in English and Our Father prayer is recited in 7 world languages. The menu of the festival reflects the church diversity but caused a dilemma of many comers as far as what to eat because it is a long way from Ethiopia to Russia on the food road. People took longer time to figure out if they would rather have Ethiopian, Greek, Slavic, Romanian, Mexican or American food but once in line you move quickly with the food vendors winking and lifting their trays to entice you to get their food. Pierogi were very good, baked well; hard outside and soft inside so combination of dough, potato and cheese was properly melting in the mouth. While I was eating delicious plums with crème, my tongue quickly detected a harder object within the plum. I wondered why plums were not pitted like the most things in US are and to my pleasant surprise the object in question was a walnut half. Once I knew what I am eating - it all came together very nicely. Letdown was that the deserts did not offered any layered moist cake or crepes - which always make me anticipate any Slavic or Western Europe festival. Another letdown was that I could not have a Greek or Russian beer. There was just one Greek wine type but on a hot day a beer goes better with the lunch. The venue was perfect and enthusiasm of the host was energizing. I was happy to support in some way their church. The visit can be combined with a walk in the old town Manassas.

My…read moreboyfriend and I just so happened to pick up food from Vocellis which is a couple doors down and I thought what a nice chance to finally go in. I walk in, greet the owner and proceed to look at the drink as we did not buy any at Vocellis since I wanted to see if the African market had Alvaro, a very popular African malt drink. My boyfriend proceeds to go see if they have a bathroom to give me time to look around. The owner yells from the counter in the front if I need help finding something. I asked her if they sell Alvaro, which she answered 'no, do you have a picture?' I showed her a picture and she proceeds to rudely tell me they do not have a 'public restroom' and if that was the purpose of us coming there, WHICH WASN'T. I then called my boyfriend to come out of the restroom because the energy of the place turned me off from that point on, especially when I asked the lady where she's from to make conversation and she said Africa, so rude. Maybe she thought I'd never been to Africa, and little did she know I was married to a Ghanaian and been to Ghana 6 times. I'd been excited to visit for months and my first time experience was this one. SMH. We didn't even get to check out the rest of the store. The place was EMPTY, no customers. So why not treat the ONLY people in your store with respect. On top of the disrespect, I'm pregnant and was really craving Alvaro and wanted to get a few things like an African sponge and see if they have kebab pepper, but we just ended up leaving. I'd rather take my business to Kumasi Supermarket in Woodbridge where they are always welcoming and DO HAVE ALVARO.

We go extra miles by showing our customers how much we appreciate their patronage. And we genuinely care about them. Also, we provide services that will make customers want to return to our shop.
