Stopped here to pick up a few groceries while on vacation. Harris Teeter is a high end grocery chain. The store is neat inside and well organized. The prices are high end, as well. But they do have sales and sale prices are good. If you have shopper card, there are discounts. The vegetables looked fresh. I picked up what I needed. They had a great selection of funny greeting cards, I picked up a couple. I didn't get bread because I would have had to take out a loan. Check out is easy and clerks were friendly. Parking is tight as there are a bunch of stores in the same strip mall. I did find fairly close parking. read more

I actually really like this Harris Teeter I'm kind of surprised at the negative reviews. This place is always clean, the salad bar is always pretty stocked up and clean, fresh vegetables, The sushi bar is always neat and pretty stocked up, and for those of you who have an allergy or want to add something you can request a custom roll when the sushi chefs are there. In which the chefs are pretty accommodating & the sushi is good. Pretty decent priced salads with fresh ingredients, i don't like the boiled eggs too much though. But I'm pretty picky with eggs. The guys at the meat station are always pumped and pretty helpful, I'm always asked if I need help within seconds of walking up to this counter. I love how you can get a discount on certain things at certain times if you have a VIC card. Even meats/steaks. The in-store cooked Asian food is pretty good too, so are their sandwiches. And the sandwich station has always been friendly to me. I've always gotten pretty helpful employees, one time a lady even took a few minutes to explain cheese to me and the differences in what they had. Pretty decent priced flowers too. Self checkout is pretty easy and if you need help there's always a employee right there to help you with it. The lines can be a bit confusing as to where to put your stuff especially if you don't have a cart but you'll figure it out. They do a great job at staying pretty stocked up too. read more

Kinda surprised I have not written this review before but better late than never, right??? I have been here several dozen times for several reasons. The location is easily accessible and most times is on along the way only commute so its easy to pop in and pop out and not spend a lot of time in the store, especially when I know what I need. Fresh flowers are always fully stocked and ready for the picking! The wine and beer selection here I vast so you are sure to find something that peaks your interest. There is always a good selection of produce and seafood as well as fresh meats as well. I do also like that they always have more than one register open at a time and someone is always there to help at the self check out section. Oh this location also has a Starbucks inside! read more

This star goes out to their customer service. I have had multiple negative run ins with their sandwich staton employee, Avery. The first time I was in no rush and a man had wanted some egg salad which they hadn't refilled in the front yet. Not once did she acknowledge the man waiting. I simply told Avery she could help him as he just needed something grabbed from the back - she told me "I don't even think it's back there" and I encouraged her to go look. With attitude she did, and to her surprise she found it. Today's experience was frustrating. While beginning my order for a sub I had gotten a phone call from family wanting to grab lunch -- after Avery had solely sliced the bread to 6 inch. I had let her know never mind we wouldn't be needing it. She then rolled her eyes and never once assured me that it was no problem. I'm sorry I ask her to do her job? Simply if customer service is not her thing she shouldn't work at Harris Teeter. There was no one at the customer service desk and management seemed busy with an employee. At this point -- had I not had my son who wanted the other items we were purchasing (cake mix, icing, and bug repelling bracelets) I would have pushed my cart down an aisle and walked out. We live on the opposite side of Manassas and pass numerous stores of which offer exactly what Harris Teeter does at a lower cost. I simply enjoyed shopping there due to their customer service I've received with other employees. It's not convenient to go there, and to shop there being treated how Avery treats me is appalling. I like shopping at Harris Teeter, not sure why so many negative reviews. Store is always clean. The cashiers will take items out of your cart (and often there is a bagger, but I like to bag and appreciate that they have a bagging area). Deli stocks Boar's Head products. They don't offer samples as frequently as other stores, but when I have a child with me, they offer a sample... and additional slices if I have multiple... "helpers." Produce is always in good condition, fresh. Rarely do I find that they are out of a product or that all are rotten. On my last trip, the single avocados were under ripe and all of the "two pack" avocados were mushy. Typically there is a "range" that alternates can be selected from. When items are "buy one get one free" they often also specify "item rings at half." I really like this option for when I don't need/want TWO of something. Ample selection of every day value items at a set price. We are cheese fiends, so I typically pick up sandwich slices of cheddar or provolone for 1.99 - I think the block of store brand cheddar is 1.49. Eggs are also typically .99/dozen large. While the store, overall, can be more expensive, I make sure to stock up on these items here. Definitely agree with others that things can be more expensive here. One item I never see on sale is bagged salad mixes (with dressing, toppings, etc). I just don't buy them here. A big difference can also be had with their circular coupons (in Tues/Wed mail). Often they have $20 off $100--these are the trips when I indulge or stock up on non-perishable essentials (paper towels, TP, etc). read more

The 24 X 7 grocery. This store started in my hometown of Matthews, NC in 1936. They've grown a bit since & I'm very pleased they've expanded into Virginia. They excel in their meats, vegetables, fruits & deli choices. I really like their approach to Customer Service, it's exceptional. Yes, they are a little pricey but they also stock a variety of brands, including many of their own brands. Today, I stopped in to do some meat shopping, I was especially looking for ground turkey so I could make some chilie. Alas, they were all out. Seems they were offering a Vic Special two for one deal @ 20 ounces for $4.99. No Turkey...no problem, you got to the Customer Service desk and you get a rain check! read more

I'll start with my cons: A few cashiers are somewhat not rude but unwelcoming at times they do not seem to want to help and seem to get frustrated if you need a revision for something or just if you have extra inquiries, last week a male manager sort of yelled at me for him basically not wanting to do his job and figure out what items I had been overcharged for since iam currently on a strict budget. It was sort of embarrassing. If you have failed to Greet me or say thank you Pros: The store is always clean & so is the salad bar. A nice selection of prepared meals and even fresh sushi. Harris Teeter has been my favorite grocery for many years and it has always been ran efficiently until the CDC issued guidelines for COVID-19. They are not following the guidelines at this location. They no longer offer wipes for grocery carts and few people in the store are following social distancing guidelines. They have applied tape to the floor to mark distancing but they do not attempt to enforce it at all. I told the assistant manager that by not following CDC guidelines they put the heath of their customers at risk. She replied that there is a broad interpretation of the CDC guidelines and that it is a free country so they cannot force their customers to follow these guidelines. I said that I understand but many customers are not wearing masks and she told me, "Trump said people don't need to wear masks." I said that I don't care what the president said because the CDC guidelines for social distancing aren't even being followed at this location. She said, "you people panic too much" and assured me that not many people have gotten COVID in her store so it should be safe. I would just suggest that customers at this location bring their own wipes and if someone stands in your space to walk away and do your part to follow social distancing guidelines since the store doesn't even remind people for safety's sake. read more

Ok, kudos to Anthony, the 16-year old cashier who bagged our food properly--everything balanced, like with like. New hire and a testament to latter-year millennials that they can do an excellent j-o-b job. Also, the deli was well-manned: 4 staff on duty at 6:00 pm Sunday....and friendly and clearly enjoying each other and the job. Generally a fine location with a good setup and nice selection. The only problem I've ever had was a discrepancy between a promotional sign and an actual price. I was purchasing several dozen cookies for a party. The bakery sign said BOGO, but the items rang up as a different price. It turns out that the BOGO deal was no longer valid, so I wound up paying more than I expected. The cashier offered no assistance with the issue. It was only a few dollars' difference, but HT could really stand to update their signage as necessary and provide more useful customer service during a conflict. read more

I have shopped here since I move to Manassas in 2014 Management has not changed that much but the employees have. Cashiers could not tell me where thinks were. I had a horrible experience with a cashier who works for Harris Teeter since 2019. Her name is Sherry C. and the name of her manager is Deric Shrom, store #303 Manassas, VA. I made a purchase of $238.00 on June. Sherry was pretty rude throwing our products into the plastic bags, she also made a couple of mistakes charging me twice and she did not apologize or show any empathy. I hope Harris Teeter can retrain this employee. An good costumer service and treat costumers with respect is essential in any type of business. I wish nobody else will be affected by this matter. The store itself is okay, but I had the worst customer service with the Sandwich bar store manager. If I could give a zero star, I would. I moved right next to this Harris Teeter location, and I was getting my lunch here. My husband and I work at home, and we were hoping to use this deli place to get our daily lunch. However, there were at least 3 people, but no one was getting my order for about 10 minutes. Then a very rude lady came over, and she goes "What? What?" like three times when I had told her what I wanted, Then she asked me what kind of bread, and I was answering that question and realized she just walked away. I was so irritated and left. Then I wanted to talk to the manager, and she was the manager there! She said she was getting my bread? I have not even told her what kind of bread I wanted, and you don't just walk away as the customer is trying to answer the question. She goes, "Well, it's a little loud here, and I was getting your bread. Maybe you just didn't hear me." How is it possible to get my bread when I didn't even answer what type I wanted? When I looked up, she was gone. She literally just walked away as she was getting the order from the customer. What kind of customer service is this? I have never seen such a thing. Our family will never go to that sandwich station because of that lady. She was such a rude employee. I wonder if she would be the same with other male customers? I also felt as if she was looking down at me. I question Harris Teeter for hiring such a manager like her. Suzanne the florist is awesome at my local HT! Any special occasion or just looking for something to brighten a loved one day she is the go to person. The staff is always so friendly and kind. Also check out the meat department they all are awesome with great quality meats cut to your preference. Keep it up HT! Horrible experience at the manassas location with the manager Derick. I bought Visa cards at this store and one of the cards was empty. The $150 j put in the card at this store was emptied out at another Harris teeter! The corporate office could not offer an expiation but offered a refund and when I went to pick my refund up the manager Derick was upset I was there! He was rude and condescending. I don't recommend this store. Harris teeter used to have great customer service but it's now non existent! read more

Best grocery store in town by far. Prices are decent an it's open 24 hours so it's easy to go whenever you have time. Quality of all their products are great and the produce is always fresh. They have a very large selection of organic items too so it's a great place for staying healthy. read more

Several months ago I discovered their express shopping online. At first I thought to myself how I went so long without having this service! I don't have time to spend an hour shopping for groceries so I found I am able to shop for what I need online, give them a time I would like to pick up my order and then they call me when it's ready. I pull up my car to the front if the store and they even load my car for me! The first time we did this I thought it was the greatest thing ever; however, the last few times I have used the service I have had some very frustrating problems. I have had issues with wrong orders, and fruit/produce that has expired or is about to expire. I have even bought and brought home moldy food which I completely wasted money on. It had gotten so bad that I have been forced to stop using this service. The workers are very nice; however the quality of groceries I have received recently by using express has ruined it for me. read more

I LOVE shopping here. They have a great selection of everything. Their store brands have always exceeded my expectations and in most cases are actually better than brand labels. They have great fresh sushi and will make it special without seeds for my mom. The employees will talk directly to my son who is usually ignored at the other stores. When we arrive we have to go to the free balloon section to let my son get one. They have even filled an extra color when my son has asked. They have samples near the bread cutting station of tasty spreads you will fall in love with:) The seafood, meat, deli, produce and everything is so fresh. I have NEVER seen anything out of date in any department. I am an avid couponer and when they have their super doubles they do run out of stock quick. They do restock but sometimes they do not know what items are going to be big coupon deals. They are very fair with their policies on couponing and while I have been disappointed I could not go back through the line 2-3 times to use my coupons(for my sister). I have been glad when I have worked all day and was not able to be there at 7am when the coupons start. I am glad to arrive at 6pm and still have some items I have coupons for. I love their E-VIC specials, meal deals, email newsletters, and person savings coupons on products I have purchased. I have not tried their drive up grocery service but have heard from others that it is great too. The pharmacy has free prescriptions for certain medications which is great if you do not have RX coverage or on a tight budget. I could go on all day about how great this place is but you get the point....:) On a different note: They have a Redbox but it is best to go to the redbox website 1st before heading up there for the movies. This is my second favorite grocery store. Wegmans (fairfax) is my first. I live in Centerville and drive 15-20 minutes to get here. I do not go every week because of the distance, but I go at least once a month. The produce, bakery, and meat are good quality. They have a lot of organic foods and specialty products. The staff is always friendly and helpful. Only thing I do not like about this location is their subs. I guess their management is cracking down on how they are made. They make very skimpy subs at this store. Almost pathetic. Everything else is great, but skip the subs unless you want to add additional meat when you get home. I wish they would open a Harris Teeter in Centerville so I didn't have to drive so far. read more

Good news beer fans ... Harris Teeter has expanded their already solid craft/microbrew selections!! I've noticed recently that there has been much more variety there. Not only are they featuring more local Virginia brews, such as a consistent selection of Devil's Backbone, but also widening the variety with additions such as Bell's and Lagunitas. And I've found their prices to be very competitive ... they're cheaper on pretty much everything than Wal-Mart (who, surprisingly, does offer a limited selection of craft beer) and can be cheaper on certain things than Total Wine (Devil's Backbone is $8.99 rather than $10.49 for example) and pricier on others (Total Wine is usually cheaper on Widmer's Drifter Pale Ale). Now they just need to have another one of those 20% off craft beer sales so that I can turn my garage into a beer stockpile again. (I already drank the last stockpile, much to my wife's chagrin.) read more

I really like shopping at this Harris Teeter. It's pretty close to home, but I drive past at least 4 other grocery stores to get here ... that's how much I like it! Be sure to sign up for their VIC program and emails because they offer weekly deals and some of them are outrageous (buy 2 get 3 free!!). I frequently base my grocery list on what is on sale each week and then fill in the necessities that aren't on sale. I save loads of money without using coupons just by going with their VIC offers. There is a great selection of quality produce, and their bakery breads are wonderful. The butcher is nice and knowledgeable, and their meats are fantastic. They have the best Italian sausage I've had yet - not too strong on the fennel! Over all, their product selection is great and I frequently buy new things I see there just because they look interesting and I like experimenting in the kitchen. Almost all of the staff here is fantastic - personable, helpful, and very nice. I've only had one employee disappoint me - he seemed completely uninterested in being there and when he was checking me out, smashed all of my groceries (bread, grapes, brie along with boxes and jars ... squish!) in the bagging area instead of just placing items in a bag to make room. For a short time Harris Teeter is running an amazing promotion (until January 2011, I believe). Fill a prescription and get $20 off your next order when you use your VIC card for the Rx and shopping. Wife needed an antibiotic, which was $7 after insurance paid its share. I checked out and $33 food came to $13. Amazing. Compare to Shoppers, where you get coffee and donut for a Rx purchase. read more
