I'll make this short and sweet!! We don't have these back home and it was a lot of fun to go in and explore all of their grocery items. They have an AMAZING area for fresh pre-made meals from sushi to sandwiches and fresh salads. A seafood bar with fresh fish. Baked pizzas to order. A salad bar with so many options (yum!). Top notch grocery store with amazing selection and very helpful employees. They always have what I'm looking for and the prices are great. Their cheese section is amazing, definitely my favorite place in the store. And I was looking for a particular wine on my last visit and the employee took me right to the one I was searching for! There were a couple employees doing tastings which is really nice and there were so many check lanes open that we didn't have to wait long at all! The lighting in the store while not so overly bright to make it uncomfortable was just perfect for a great shopping experience. Just how excited I was when I thought I saw a glimpse of what seems to be a "W" on the side of the building when I was driving back to Warrenton, Virginia for work. When I almost killed my neck for trying to see through the trees and stupid window post of the rental. I almost drove off the road. OMG ITS A WEGMANS!!!! Ok if it isn't obvious enough I am a Rochester, NY native and it shows. I screeched your the next u-turn and zoomed back. I just couldn't believe how excited I was. It's not just a store it's a religious experience. Having been brought up on the regions finest example of how service and excellent food should be done. It was a like a serenity walk though for me. I felt for an iota of a second... I was home... It's been a long six years since I walked the aisles of this Heralded grocery experience. I spent 2.5 hours just walking around reminiscing shopping with my mom ( Rest her soul), and looking back at the time when I worked at the flagship (Pittsford NY). New ideas have come and stayed, some old ones still are a part of this routine. Glad to see Chicken French, my old friend. Many wonderful culinary experiences have emanated from being here, glad to say it's a contributor to my passion and career vocation as Chef. The it dawned on me. I love Wegmans. The locations aren't close enough for regular shopping. The store is huge. They had red, white and blue bread over the July 4 holiday week. The produce is decent. If Harris Teeter and Whole Foods had a kid, Wegmans would be the result. There is ample parking and the restrooms are clean. read more

Really love Wegman's. Their produce are the freshest in this neighborhood, and the pricing is fair. Sometime it gets a little crowded over the weekend, so plan your time of visit wisely, if you'd like to avoid the crowd during flu season. Yesterday I purchased items in the Chantilly Wegmans. Due to a family emergency. I am unable to use those items and attempted to return them to the Gainesville Wegmans this morning. I was told that they do not accept returns although nobody could show me a policy in the store, on the receipt, on the website, or in the app. I spoke to three different people and Wegmans Corporate customer service, and nobody was willing to help. I am profoundly disappointed in the lack of customer service at the Gainesville Wegmans. I understand having to follow policy, but if such a stringent policy exists, shouldn't it be posted at the customer service desk, on the website or in the app? read more

Some establishments need more than five stars. Just sayin'. I love Wegmans! They would do SO well in Houston!! SO well. I wish they would come to Houston, that would be great! There are many reasons why a foodie and chef like me loves Wegmans! There are so many items available and so convenient that it becomes overwhelming! It's also very nostalgic for me as when I lived on the East Coast I would go to Wegmans whenever I came to D.C. before driving back home on the weekends! Wegmans has just about every delicacy and specialty item to meet your needs! If you go to produce you will find fresh fruits and vegetables, fresh squeezed juices and even legit truffles you can spend hundreds of dollars on to impress your dinner guests. They have a pizza counter, sandwich counter, and coffee shop. There is a deli, a bakery, a butcher, a fish market, a cheese counter and display. These are not your run of the mill items alone but many upscale items and well-known hard to get items that you won't get in your typical grocery store. They sell specialty spices and products as well as pots and pans and house goods! If you can't find it at Wegmans then have someone assist you because it's there! It's like a mega grocery store in the most refined way. The best part is that the staff is do accommodating and pleasant. The store is clean. Trust me, they make every effort to keep up the place. When you go to the fresh salad and hot bar, you will not see chases mixed together or Mongolian beef in the orange chicken because they employ enough people to ensure their items look appetizing. Reviewing a grocery is different from reviewing a restaurant. Most of us run in and run out, but Wegman's is a TOTALLY different experience. My sister, years ago, lived in the Richmond area and absolutely raved about it. Now I understand! I've used Wegman's Meals2Go for lunches and dinners. While the food is very good, it does tend to be expensive! The dinners are a real time saver for a single person and a working professional tends to value their time. Just picking up prepared meals (especially dinners) is great. No time shopping, no time preparing, minimal clean-up time. If you're looking for a hard to find ingredient for a recipe, quality meats and high quality produce and goods to feed your family Wegman's is the place to go. Prosciutto did Parma? They've got it! Wonton wrappers? Check! Organic dairy? Of course! Star fruit and dragonfruit? Right there in fresh produce! In Gainesville, it's also pretty much the only place. The nicest thing about Wegman's though is the level of customer service. Every employee will greet you with a genuine smile and they are always happy to go out of their way for special requests. Choose your holiday rib roast by specific ribs if you like, plus they'll remove it from the bone and tie it back on to make serving easy as can be. If you're looking for a special bottle of Bordeaux or an imported German Dunkel they have that too! Of course it all comes at a price. Rarely is Wegman's the cheapest option. The quality of their products usually more than makes up for the price difference. And, if you should purchase something that does not live up to expectations they are always willing to replace it or provide a refund. In addition to all of the wonderful, high-quality groceries available at Wegman's - they offer dining in opportunities. My favorites include the hot soup station - and the Seafood Bar. Any number of times I've come in, grabbed a nice bowl of hot chicken noodle soup and headed upstairs to enjoy it while watching shoppers going to and fro. I hit the Seafood Bar earlier this week for a snack - a half dozen delicious chilled raw oysters, served with lemon and raw horseradish, and a bowl of their cream of crab soup. I selected the northernmost oyster species of three offered - the Malpeque. It has a nice salty finish and the oyster liquor is outstanding. Soup was also very good. I added some freshly cracked black pepper and hot sauce to it to make it complete. Would have been nice to have some more actual chunks of crab meat - but the flavor was excellent! read more

This Wegmans is massive. I don't know if it's actually the case or not but it feels so much bigger than the Fairfax store. They have all the wonderful things that you come to expect at Wegmans vs any of other grocery store. The wine/beer section is MASSIVE, their deli is awesome, their hot and cold bars are great and there is PLENTY of seating if you chose to dine in and, as always, their employees are super duper nice. I LOVE WEGMANS. I won't live in VA forever and will soon enough make my way back out West. If Wegmans isn't number one, I can certainly say it will be one of the top three things I will miss from here. Wegmans NEEDS to just take over the country already please. This will be the longest review ever but because this is the most amazing place ever. Whether you are needing groceries, a quick bite to eat, or just a quality tasty treat this is the place. The precise example of All in One. I had avoided shopping here for a while as in my head I thought they were over priced. Turns out, I was quite wrong. They really are Whole Foods at Walmart prices. Some things are on the more expensive end, but some things, many things actually are cheaper than Walmart. And always much much better quality. Any of the grocery stores in this area (other than Harris Teeter) have produce that is a hit and a miss. But the produce is always prime at Wegmans. I have never been disappointed by their produce. Their brand of items is always very cheap and of very good quality. They also have many unique items that few other stores carry. If I am looking for something unique Wegmans is the first place I check. They have a huge cheese section with tons of incredible cheeses at reasonable prices. They also offer prepackaged appetizers. My favorites are their apricot bites topped with Brie and walnut. They have another larger appetizer which is pretty good if you are having a larger group that you are entertaining. Not sure what it's called but it's a small round of Brie topped with walnuts cranberries and possibly dried apples in a caramel sauce. Delightful! Near that they also have a fairly large flower section where they have many different flower options, pre-arranged bouquets as well as a service counter for custom orders. At the front to the left of the building they have a coffee shop. I used to be a fan of it, as they had many syrup options that could be added to anything. One of the few coffee shops that had coconut, and that I would add to a chocolate frappes. But they no longer have all the unique syrups. Shame! But they have decent breakfast sandwiches there. Next to that they have a register where you can order many sandwiches. I have never tried any of those but my dad is a fan. Next to that they have a pizza counter with many pizza options that you can get for pretty cheap by the slice. My only wish is that they would heat it up for you. I come more than I should for a cheap slice. Not as good as Whole Foods but not bad. Across from the pizza counter they have 4 or 5 rows of buffet options. They have many options in the buffet and one salad bar with many fresh options. All very good but quite over priced. They charge about $9 per pound so be careful! It's easy to rack up the price. My husband and I will easily spend $30 for not a lot of food. Probably my least favorite part of Wegmans because it's all so yummy but I know I will spend a lot if I give in to it and don't ever feel like it's enough food: Near that they also have a fresh sushi bar that is fairly priced and pretty good. Harris Teeter has my favorite grocery store sushi, but Wegmans isn't bad. On this side of the building if you are here just for the dining you can go through the quick check out. There are tons of seating options, as well as outside and upstairs. Upstairs also includes a little play area for kids. They also have a soda machine and small complimentary cups for water. Seriously this place is quite incredible. Best for last; their baked goods. They make fresh amazing bread. I love their crispy cheese rolls. So good. They also have many pretzel options. So many bread options, just go see. Too many to list! They have a huge baked goods selection. Their danishes are particularly amazing. I will frequently come in for a few mini danishes as they are only $1. Heavenly. Their chocolate cake, fruit tarts, eclairs, macaroons, and cream puffs are all delightful. They change out their options from time to time. I was obsessed with their mint brownies but they haven't had those for quite a while. My husband and I would come frequently for their coconut cream danishes but sadly they no longer sell those. You can make requests on items you want to bring back but no luck yet. If you want to feel like you can make or buy anything food wise - this is the place. I have been here several times every year when I Visit my family in Virginia and it was overwhelming lying at first but I grew to love it! They have SO MANY options and the best fresh stuff and bakery items and platters etc. its definitely THE place for people there and I can see why! The wine section is profound (for a grocery store) in my opinion. But I assume that's due to the many local wineries in VA. There's even a bar in the middle of the prepared food area. Been a regular here for the longest time and just getting tired of old, stale, spoiled beer. At first I thought it was maybe my palate or something, but then one day I was there during the daytime (usually got groceries in evening after work), and noticed the sun blaring down on the bottles of beer. Sunlight spoils beer. I said something to the lady working at the beer counter. She could have cared less. I said something to the other lady at the wine counter, she also could have cared less. A while later when I was back there, I was talking to another guy in the beer section and happened to mention it....he also could have cared less. So nobody at Wegman's seems to care whether they ruin the $15/bottle of beer that they sell you, and its not something you can return once opened. Putting beer on shelves in direct sunlight is like leaving milk out on a shelf with no refrigeration. read more

It's no secret that I love Wegmans. This Wegmans has a standard layout of all the goodies (hot foods, coffee, and of course groceries). I tend to visit this location if I feel the others may be too crowded. I like this Wegmans if I know exactly what I want, but sometimes, they tend to be out of a lot of items (compared to the Fairfax location). The good thing is you can ask any associate anything, and they have an answer. For instance, I went looking for a sweet potato pie (of which I had previously got from here). I asked the bakery department and she let me know they were not selling as they would hope, so they will bring them back for Thanksgiving, but in the mean time, they would just focus on the pumpkin pie. Although not the answer I would wish for, but it was a real answer that would save me the time and heartache when searching for it later. Some grocers just give you the "I am not sure" answer, but not Wegmans. For this...I am thankful!! Tip: As with any Wegmans, to save the most money, shop the Wegmans brand when possible. read more

While shopping this morning in the pharmacy area, I asked a Wegman's employee how I could find an item. She said I don't speak English. I found another Wegman's employee in the same department and I asked the same question and I received the same answer. I then asked to speak with a store manager and Julie the "assistant manager" asked me how she could help me. I asked her how Wegman's could hire customer service employees that are not bilingual? She immediately got offensive and said "we are an equal opportunity employer and if you don't like it you cal leave". She then said "as a matter of fact I could make you leave" Really? I mentioned in my last review that the worst day to stop here is on Sunday. Either I was wrong or something has changed. We went by today at around 4:30 and there was so much fresh produce, it was clear everything was freshly stocked. I was confused about the day it was because in Sunday's it's usually slim pickings. I noticed walking around that there were several employees writing down notes of what is out and I found that to be really curious. When we were checking out I heard someone walking around rallying the cashiers to get ready for power hour! Apparently there is a rush around 5:30-6 with so many people coming in. Now it all makes sense - perhaps we've just been showing up during or after the "power hour." Anyway.. my pro tip is to get there well before 5 and I think you'll be just fine on Sundays. First off, the Wegman's website is TERRIBLY SLOW AND CLUNKY- EXTREMELY FRUSTRATING to use. Secondly, their produce department sucks. Their organic produce selection has gotten SMALLER over the years, and produce quality/freshness is not good. Pretty bad being that Wegmans used to be a produce company. And thirdly, they have a bad re-ording or inventory system and they have a VERY hard time getting products delivered to the store when they've been out of stock for weeks. BONUS. I have been going to this Wegmans for a few years now. I have always thought it was a great grocery store with few issues. Prices are a bit high, but the quality matches. However, in the past few days, I have become disgusted at the way they are handling the Covid-19 situation. So many folks are going in and it's a giant cluster of people, dangerously close to one another. I have seen people pushing past and also moving dangerously close to one another. It's understandable that "6 feet" will not always happen, but surely it can be more than 5 inches. Please take measures to prevent the spread of Corona. Take notes from places like Costco where they limit the amount of people going on and out. It's not unreasonable to wait an extra 5-10 minutes to get inside and get groceries read more

We love coming to the seafood and wine bar at Wegmans. The food is always delicious and the service is courteous and prompt. You can't got wrong with the Caesar or arugula salads; both are always fresh and tasty. The Lobster Rolls are filling and a great value for $15. The wine selection changes periodically and is usually $6-7 per glass.
