I have been shopping at this Trader Joes since they opened about 20 years ago and I don't ever remember having a bad experience. I took a break for a few years during the height of inflation and started shopping at Walmart to save some money. However I recently started hating going there and to limit my exposure, I returned back to Trader Joes. It is always crowded but I am always able to get in and out with the cashier putting a smile on my face. I always feel good after leaving the store. My favorite items are the grass-fed steaks, the wild sock eye salmon and I love most of the frozen pastas. The favs are Garlicky pasta, Cacio de Pepe, Penn Arrabbiata, Linguine with Pesto. read more

Above and beyond. I tend not to rate chain stores, but the staff at this Centreville location are top notch helpful and friendly! I walk here to get whole food lunch staples about twice a week. On my last visit, I answered "not really" to the standard cashier question "were you able to find everything today?". This cashier promptly went to customer service to learn when my missing product would be in. On any given day, staff will show you (in person!) where products are located. No hassle returns/exchanges. Excellent short checkout line management. My only minor gripe is the choke point at the entrance/exit, but I can live with that. read more

This TJ's in Chantilly has a very bad rep. First off, the employees here are completely rude and won't make eye contact. On top of that, I cannot get even 10% of customers to meet my eyes when I'm shopping. Forget smiling even eye contact, they won't do that to me. People are very rude and dismissive and very mean here. I love TJs but like I said this store has a bad rep. On top of that, this TJs apparently discriminates against people of color. I seem to lost track of time and walking around store for hour or more. Suddenly manager walked up and said he can't have that, forced me to check out and afterwards he ask me to leave and not come back. I swear, this is discrimination cause of skin color more then not. There is no need for that. I am a paying customer and I checked out some stuff, then suddenly because I was walking around to much (maybe discriminating against my looks or skin color more like?) this manager guy asked me to get out and not come back anymore. I left immediately, and honestly not like I'd want to come back. I really like TJs stores and shop frequently there, but this location actually gives me wrong feeling and makes me sick inside. All in the store, employees and even customers, are super mean to me and won't meet my eyes. On top of that, despite me responding to employees positively and being good, never saying anything to anyone, I'm suddenly banned from this TJs, because of an overactive manager and staff who are largely white and who discriminate against folks like me due to looks and skin color. This is the closest Trader Joe's location to me and also one of the older ones in the area - so they are a little smaller with tighter aisles, however, that doesn't mean they don't still have everything you're looking for. Excellent selection of Joes standard offerings and they are great with keeping special holiday items in stock. The one downside to this location is the parking lot is difficult to get in and out of. This Trader Joe's is clean well organized and full of friendly and helpful staff. I've also never been disappointed at TJ's so... I did need help finding the sun dried tomatoes. The employee walked me to the location and the pointed to it. Good customer service is hard to find and much appreciated! Also snagged these amazing tulips. They did droop after day two and I was not able to bring them back to life. I tried the penny/pin method to no avail. Wow, this Trader Joe's was well-stocked and it felt like it had a lot more items than the one I usually go to in NJ. I was on the hunt for the Ube cookies and strawberry & vanilla flavored yogurt pretzels along with other usual items. Lots of Ube ice cream which tended to be sold out most of the time. There was a sign saying that Ube pancakes would be back soon and I can't wait to try that. All those bakery treats looked amazing. Line wasn't too long when we got there on a Sat afternoon. Trader Joe's in Centerville is a main spot for us to go grocery shopping each week. The employees are always kind and engaging. We can always find what we need. For a grocery store, they have done a pretty great job making the atmosphere appealing. Parking is also easy here which is a plus. read more

A shout out fo their great job this morning. We were there 30 minutes before opening and there were 7 people before us. We were obeying the "six feet away social distancing" while waiting outside. By the opening time of 9am, the line was very long, with at least 40 people. At 9am, a lady staff came out and greeted us. Then she explained us the procedure. 20 customers at one time in the store. After 5 customers come out, next 5 customers go in. Every item in the store, up to 2 per person (except wine). When we entered and walked around in the store, I was surprised to see how well they were stocked with so many items. It was a very pleasant shopping experience with only 20 people in the store, and not much wait to check out. Great job! This is by far the best TJ I have ever seen. read more

I have been growing fond of Trader Joe's as a chain. The options are good and of good quality. They offer smaller portions so it is perfect if you only need a little bit of everything. Not super great if you have family members with big mouths. I think Costco wins on that front, but if you just need a really small amount of garlic or small amount of green onions then this place will meet your needs. That is why I come here. There are also some unique options for seasonings and frozen foods. I like to think of this place as the perfect place for someone who rarely cooks or is very comfortable cooking for the single life. Nothing wrong with any of those choices, but Trader Joe's meets those needs that other grocery stores cannot hit. I do see myself coming here more often now just to get the special options that this place has to offer - like the sesame chili oil. read more

I love this store. Mainly it's their great customer service and more reasonable prices that keep me coming back. It is often crowded and the parking lot is a bit of a nightmare, especially on weekends and holidays. They also close really early, at 8pm or so on weekdays and 6pm on Sunday. The frozen food is of good quality, the produce is reasonably good, and they have some organic food. I was sad to see them stop carrying Teva steaks, especially since there are so many Muslim and Jewish people in the area. I wrote to corporate request that they bring them back to no avail. TJs often discontinues popular and well liked brands, which is frustrating and their shelves can get bare sometimes in the produce and dairy sections. The wine prices are the best that you can find in the area, and they have a limited selection of organic and Kosher wines. Their store brand organic milk is not the best. If you have a frother and like lattes, their milk won't do that. When I looked at the owners on my milk frother, the manual stated that non frothing milk is due to poor quality proteins in the milk. When I bought other brands it froths a lot. (This isn't a big deal for cooking and cereal consumption, but it's just something that's good to know if you like lattes). The ambiance is usually hectic. I always feel stressed coming and going from this store, but the employees are truly kind, smart, and funny. After a serious injury, they carried my groceries and put them in my car for me every time I shopped there for over a year, even when they were busy. They've helped me look for items, and they were super patient when I had speech issues. This is a disabled friendly establishment, they have handicapped parking spaces available, and a shopping carts for larger children who are disabled. For kids that like to help their parents shop, there are kiddie shopping carts and free lollipops at the register end caps. As far as I can tell, they are Muslim friendly, gay friendly, and great everyone with respect regardless of gender, race, etc. Whoever you are they will be kind and you'll feel comfortable, as it's super diverse and friendly. read more

Everything about TRader Joe's across the nation is consistency. Centreville, VA is the best fresh fruits & vegetables. I never see green unripened bananas. They are yellow and sweet, firm and not mushy or meelie. Alisha was so helpful as well as the pretty lady in the wine are. I am aorry I did not catch your name but so so helpful and patient. My husband who is a "cheap date" $6.49 a bottle!!!! holy moly what a great wine. Yes, I purchased a case. I usually (me being from Napa) drink $90+ bottles but he gave me an option. Lol So as I walked in Hallahluya, real sourdough! I am going shopping now. 2 loaves to start. onto greens, fruit, salsa, real Mex baby! The usual items that they carry are well-stocked, but I've noticed that most of the breads' expiration dates were up in a couple of days. When in the area, I usually pick up various produce, like the organic red bell peppers, the English cucumber, and their tasty cornbread chips. This place gets a lot of traffic due to its location, so it is pretty heavily packed, especially on the weekends. However, the cashiers (especially Joshua!), are super friendly and try to be as efficient as possible! This Trader Joe's is spotless in terms of cleanliness and all of the employees are very friendly. There is enough space between the isles so you do not feel as crowded when looking at the products. They have everything organized neatly so you can see what products are within the isles before going down them which also helps. While I was in the checkout line, the cashier noticed that I had bought some sweet wines and told me about other options that I was unaware of within the store. He even went so far as to grab a bottle of sweet wine that he recommended and let me take a picture of it so that I could be sure to grab a bottle of it the next time I come into the store! read more

I love Trader Joe's. They never disappoint with making grocery shopping more exciting than it ever could be. This location is in the armpit of the Centreville exit. It is a test of driving skills to get to it and to the parking lot while dodging cones, I meant patrons from crossing in front of you while trying to park in an uphill slant. Watch your carts while loading your vehicle, there are no brakes on the carts. The store itself is like a local market feel, with adventures around the world within. You can safely find meals or ingredients in the best possible preparation to devour.. so experimenting indulgence in other ethnic cuisine is a must starting here before having it elsewhere. You will know what to expect when served it again at a sit down restaurant. The seasons bring delight as TJs sets out extra special fun goods to have (i.e. pumpkin products). All items are so reasonably priced. The meats are fresh, organic foods are easily found, spices are very authentic and of great quality. You can find a quick quality dessert to bring to an event besides supermarket cupcakes or cookies. I have not had any wines or beer, but there is a large section devoted to selections from around the world. Check out is efficient and so pleasant! You just feel like your in your local sleepy town like Gilmore Girls here. Grab a sample if they have them and enjoy the ambiance. My favorite grocery store chain around the area! They sell a variety of healthy food and Trader Joes brand and are cheaper than the other upscale stores like Whole Foods and Wegmans. The employees there are always super helpful and friendly. When you enter..the decor makes it seem like you're in a log cabin haha. In the corner there's always a station where you can sample some coffee and some other food. I personally enjoy trying the Trader Joe's brand of shakes and juices. Someone needs to get me away from this place... one step into the store and I'm already picking out everything from the shelves! There is a huge array of unique and colorful products at a great price, and the fact that they promote eco-friendly bags (also at a great price) is more than enough to keep coming back here. The workers here seem to love what they're doing and are always so so positive, even if it's ridiculously busy. They'll definitely be seeing me much more often now. COVID update: Glad to see this place adhering to social distancing and other safety procedures. I feel a lot safer shopping here as opposed to pushing through crowds at Walmart. 20 people at a time, but the employees move fast and keep the lines moving. I love Trader Joe's! They have awesome snacks and I absolutely love their 100% pure coconut water. I haven't been here in a while but everything pretty much looks the same. I really like how they're handling the whole shopping experience during the pandemic. They're only letting certain number of people shop at a time, so there is a line outside. It moves pretty fast though and they've marked the floor down so people are 6ft away from each other in the line. I think I waited about 10 minutes and then an employee sanitized a shopping cart for me. I really only came here for 2 things and one of them was the coconut water. Unfortunately they were out but I don't blame them, that's stuff's addicting! I did end up finding the other item I was looking for which was a facial mist. I'm a fan of their rosewater one so I thought I'd give their new watermelon mist a try. I've been really impressed with Trader Joe's skincare. I will be back soon! read more

Exactly what you would expect from any Trader Joe's. If you have never been before they are a small grocery store, selling almost exclusively products under their brand name, all high quality and all very affordably priced. They have lots of quirky items and goodies that are hard to find. They have so many options it's almost overwhelming! Find someone who is a fan and they will have a lengthy list of favorite products. This location (just like any other I have ever been to) is always very clean, always a bit busy, but always well stocked with quick moving check out lines and very very friendly employees. I don't live close enough or I would do my regular grocery shopping here. I can't say for sure but most of their produce seems to be of very good quality and of fair prices. In the back corner they normally offer samples. I usually cave and buy whatever the sample is because it's always something so yummy! This last time they had toasted coconut pancakes! Being that I have been on a coconut obsessed streak of course I had to buy a box! I can't remember for sure but I think it was only like $3.50. I also bought a maple agave syrup they had, some movie theater bagged popcorn, frozen stuffed mushrooms, dried snap peas, a few bags of my favorite dark chocolate Tahitian vanilla caramels, and a tin of peppermint breath mints, totaling $22 and change. Finally got to stop by this Trader Joe's because I was in the area. The store was very clean and items were well organized and stocked. The employees were quick at what they were doing and were enjoying their time working. The checkout person had one of the fastest set of hands I've ever seen. The man took my items out of my grocery carrier and scanned them really quickly. Before I knew it, he had bagged all my items and I was walking out. It's good to see when people are so hard working. I used to always go to Whole Foods and Wegmans as a kid. Still go to Wegmans for some items but, once I ventured into Trader Joe's, I don't think there's going back. I love how they are implementing eco friendly bags and taking out the plastic. The staff are always friendly and the prices are well. It's not a huge huge store like Wegmans but their food products trade mark Traders* are delicious. I always get my eggs here because they're cheap but also the containers made outta cardboard. Hm... I'm reading the reviews and it doesn't look like what I encountered today. Maybe the store wasn't at capacity so there was no line to enter but it felt VERY crowded? I felt like carts were on top of each other and there were no signs or directional tape like the other stores. There was one use of tape on the ground (yellow) to show where the customer show wait while the cashier rings up the items but other than that....everything seems crammed. The way the registers are set up, the cashiers are back to back and I feel bad for them because it seems very crowded to fit two carts through and both lanes were open whereas the other stores, they closed down every other register. The last time I visited TJ to return two items that were not of my taste or liking, I was treated like a thief. Love that we have a TJ down the street! They have new items often (try the jerk style plantain chips) so when we we really love something we buy double in case they discontinue or if it's seasonal. Most employees here are very sweet and helpful. The only downfall is that the parking lot is a little crazy, but generally you can find a spot. read more
