I love ALDI! This is my primary location. They recently redid the wine area which I love. I come here for chips, cheese, fun wine, salad & spinach, meats, AOS, meal options, and moisturizer. I find new favorites here on a regular basis. Thankful for the salmon and other fish options as well as the shrimp, burgers, roasts, and flavorful seasoning options. Between the options available at ALDI and the wonders of an air fryer I have become more adventurous in meal preparation despite a shorter schedule. The staff is friendly and helpful. The parking is easy and convenient (although there are a lot of folks who do not seem to understand arrows...). Worth a visit but ge sure to bring your bags and a quarter of you wish to use a cart (I try to carry it all in my bags, mostly to limit my purchases, it's only sort of working ) read more

This is a smaller Aldi but it still has all the cool Aldi finds. It's very European in the sense that you have to "rent" your cart (a quarter) & bring your own bags (or buy some from the store). The cart is key because they put all your items in it & then you bag it yourself. Most of the employees are friendly enough & the store is always clean and decently stocked. They have all sorts of things from food to flowers to footwear. They sell some off-brands, some name brands & their own brand. There are always weekly specials and they can sell out so just be aware. This store seems to always have lines & the cashiers zoom your items through check out so quick your head spins and you feel rushed. Sometimes you don't even have a chance to put your wallet away before the next person is on top of you & they cashier has pushed your cart aside. This is the second time I shopped at Aldi. The first time I was specifically looking for something I needed, didn't find it and walked out. Today, I shopped with a regular shopper from Aldi, realized that their prices are excellent, with many choices because of the varieties they have in each product. This Aldi is super clean, super organized, many selections of beverages, meats, produces... And very important, the prices are much lower than most of the supermarkets. read more

Biggest money saving grocery store! In my last review, I was not yet acquainted with their model of business and a bit quick to judge even though they had just opened. Alas, I am here to make amends. I have to say I have become quite a regular at Aldi, as I really enjoy having a location so close to home. Best bang for your buck! They don't have the many name brand products that you're used to or the ones that you are familiar with but they have the basics. It really comes down to, what do you really need? If you have a small budget and are looking to save money, this is the perfect place to shop! They have everything from milk, eggs, fresh produce, frozen products, and even discounted printers. As many have said, it's just what Annandale needed, and I agree. Their mission statement is consistency and smarter shopping for all. They even strive to help the environment by reducing the use of plastic bags, and charging for paper bags is a great way to raise awareness. Shopping carts, 25 cents to use one. Smart. Most people leave their shopping carts wherever they please, but with this idea, they can't be as thoughtless leaving them in the middle of the parking lot. I have found some great products here like their agave honey, seasoned chicken breasts, to-go peanut butter spread, cheap avocados, frozen berries or ready to make smoothie blends, and etc. I'm a big fan of Aldi and honestly everyone who likes to save money should add Aldi to their list! read more

This location has the typical inventory of most Aldi stores. Some of the prices are higher. The produced was fresh. There were lots of bread and snack choices. I like the food pouches for babies (and the adult version). The place was clean. I didn't see anyone lingering outside for quarters. read more

I LOVE ALDI, it's my grocery store. You can find it all there, I once walked in empty handed and walked out with fluffy socks, a candle, $3 wine, and cinnamon buns to bake...where else can you walk out with the perfect evening for under $20?? Great for shopping for families and staying under budget compared to the larger chains, it's also perfect for someone like me to grab a few bags of salad for the work week. They have organic and healthy options contrasted with imported sweets straight from Germany. Every so often they have little filet mignonette medallions wrapped in bacon for the modest amount of $5!!!!!! Delicious on the grill for dinner for one or affordable dinner for a family of 4. Genius place. I have flipped a few of my Whole Foods and otherwise more costly grocer friends to Aldi and honest if you haven't tried it WHAT ARE YOU DOING! 10/27/19 I like how organized this place is. This is one of a few new stores in the Virginia area, but how the staff is keeping up with the products is outstanding. I see a lot of customers coming and going , but today I saw kids running around unsupervised...from what I saw anyhow. I saw a dude doing the macho walk with his shirt open so women and men can see their his pecs. Oh, let's not forget the gold chain and cross with his Fonzie haircut. What a character. I saw cell phone in the back pockets of men in women. The women's cell phones were on the verge of falling out of their back pockets. Why, because women pant really aren't designed for pockets... especially holding smartphones...it more of an I-candy thing. I let one woman know she was about to lose her phone, but she ignored me. It wasn't until my wife said the same thing that she listened. Maybe I should just keep my mouth shut and say nothing next time. The lines were not to bad, but the one thing I have noticed with Aldi's employees is not having enough cashiers. This is something to be worked on. I come here often and I love it. Im known to go down every aisle at the grocery store cause I love grocery shopping. But when I go to Aldi I know exactly what I want so its always a fast trip plus there aren't many aisle for you to go down. Aldi has gotten better about having a mix of name brand items and also some generic ones that taste pretty similar to the "real" stuff. I like the veggie chips, nut mixes, and i like how they have bags of fruits so I dont't have to stand and pick. Aldi also offer organic options for those looking to eat healthier. My family goes through whole30 atleast once a year so buying meat, veggies, and fruit from here have become routine. They have all your basics but sometimes they run out but don't worry theres a Giant close by. Only pain is getting out of the shopping center but atleast theres a parking lot and the store is always clean and pretty well stocked. read more

When this store first opened i was so excited! Recently I've noticed the produce isn't as fresh. There's a lot of spoiled fruit and vegetables and the meat shelves are pretty bare. I've had several times where I go for something and it's sold out. All of the cashiers are nice though. read more

First time delivery , food cost $140.00 Tax, delivery and service fee came to $175.00 . There's no one to call to ask why so dry much. I really feel Giant delivery is way cheeper and very well packed in nice paper bags. Aldi's food was not packed at all too. It was in a large open cardboard box dropped at the from door. read more

One of the best things about ALDI is that everything is organic and sold at a low price. The entire store is big. There are isles of processed foods, household needs, and meats/veggies. There is a large portion of healthy snacks, specifically everything labeled SimplyNature, which is there own brand of orgs if products. There is a large produce section and from what I saw and inspected, everything seemed fresh. So, that's a big plus! The meats section also had a good amount of options for a good price. There are countless number of frozen items to choose from; whether it is dessert, fruit, pizza, breakfast food, etc. The only thing to keep in mind is that you will not find many named brand items here for snacks or other types of food. However, some of the snacks are still delicious like the off-brand trail mix. The store is clean and the staff are nice. I would recommend coming here if you want to buy cheap organic food. This is the nicest Aldi I have ever been inside. I LOVE the fact that it has everything you need but not a HUGE selection. Get in, get out and with a cart load of food that didn't cost you an arm and a leg. I find it laughable that people come here to shop for the low prices yet complain about the staffing and the cart deposit. Aldi is KNOWN for both of those things, quarter carts and cashiers that sling your product into an empty cart for you to bag yourself. Personally I love how no frills it is, especially when it can cut your monthly food budget in half. So incredibly glad I live less than a mile from here. read more

We love coming here! The store is usually clean and greatly maintained. You do need to bring your own bags and also need a quarter if you want a cart (usually confusing at first but there's always another customer willing to help). The carry your usual fruit, veggies, carbs, snacks and a ton of random seasonal items (that make great gifts without breaking the bank). We got a baby play kitchen for $30ish one year! They also sell other baby items like food, diapers, and wipes! We usually come here if we can't make it to Giant or something isn't on sale there that we need because it's always cheaper here. read more

This store seems a bit smaller than some other locations but they seem to have everything the other locations carry. It seems less crazy than the Merrifield location with a less crazy parking lot and a less crowded store. They have the usual Aldi items and the usual Aldi prices so bring your quarter and check this place out. I think this will become my local store, at least until the rumored Falls Church Hillwood Avenue locations ever opens. read more

I'm an avid Aldi shopper; I normally shop at the one on Kenmore Ave. Since they opened a new store in Annandale I've been to this new location for 3 times due to convenient location for me. I've been quite disappointed in their quality of the service from the staff. Normally all the staff I have encountered at different Aldi stores were pleasant and helpful. But this store seems in need of more training. The staff were not familiar with their own products, weekly advertisement, prices, and how to assist customers in need for the shopping. Also items are not well organized and some of the items were misplaced or remained on the shelves damaged. The cashiers were rude as well. I brought their reusable shopping bag that i received for free as their grand opening event. Because i was with my baby and had bulky items, i placed the empty bag in my cart. The cashier accused me of stealing the bag even after I clearly told her that I brought the bag with me. It was embarrassing and very unpleasant. She didn't apologize for the accusation. Their parking lot is mediocre. I'll not return to this location and will continue to shop at the other location. read more

Been to this Aldi a couple of times now, and I"m impressed by it. It's better than the one in Fairfax City because it feels cleaner than that one, and there is more of a selection here as well! Came here last week with my wife, and we walked out of here with 8 bags that came to $76.79! That's less than what we would have paid for at HT, Giant, and Safeway just to name a few store chains. I know it's a chain as well, but you can't beat their prices on the items that they have here! Looking forward to do more of my grocery shopping here for now to save money that can be used towards others things that we need it for! Eggs are .99 cents each! White Bread .85 cents each, and Milk $2.39 I believe! You can't find that anywhere else for those prices! Give them a shot, they are worth the trip and money you will save in the long run! If you're a value shopper Aldi is the Mac Daddy. Unreal prices and what you get for the $ and quality can't be beat. It's not going to compare to Wegmans, Whole Foods or Teeter in terms of selection but you gotta love 50 cents for a dozen eggs! Check out the middle "goodies" section for sweet deals on whatever they have that day, maybe score a couple camping chairs for ten bucks. Great German stuff too! read more

I have been eagerly waiting for this store to open, and gave it a week for the grand opening fury to chill, but... this won't change much of my shopping habits. Because... - The parking was always going to be a problem, the same as it was for Bloom. - The cart rental thing... which I heard a shopper telling another shopper about (no signage at all) messed with me because I didn't have a quarter, and parked on the other side of the lot and wasn't going back. Figured I would just grab a basket but.... they don't have baskets? Do people steal baskets? I don't get it. - The layout makes no sense, and the whole time I never saw a single person who worked there (unless they just wear regular clothes and no name tags) to help me out. Selection was "slightly better than 7-11" limited. Except... they had a whole section of cd/dvd racks, which seemed like a great use of space in 2017. I didn't check the price, so they could have been a steal. - The lines for checking out were absurd. Thank goodness I didn't find anything worth buying today. - All is not necessarily lost - Premium bacon, avocados and baby back ribs seemed to be a considerable value over Teeter or Giant. If the lines die down, I might try those, and if they are good quality (nothing is a brand name you will recognize) it would be worth cherry-picking those things here. read more

Affordability, commercial design, and quality of products were decent.. lacks in hygiene/ home product viable stock availability. Signage and visibility of allocating store is quite limited and traffic parking is not as good as Fairfax store. Forgot to bring Quarter for the secured cart, so used previous shopping bag at checkout. Many marketing concepts to reconsider here, but only spent $22 on over 15+ merchandises ((good bargain)). Could use more USDA approved/ organic stock inventory!!! read more

I was just there and my wife felt very disappointed with the customer service they have. I hate to do this but been on the industry for over 20 years I felt that this was very important for the management Team to know and do something about it and been inform of the quality of service your cashiers provide..... Diana was extremely Rude and aggressive with my wife at the time she was cashing out my wife said she felt even discriminated by this person who treated her like she was not a client.... You can't beat these prices. Everything is dirt cheap. They are short of cashiers every time we come here so it takes awhile to buy stuff so if you are in a rush, don't come here. Make sure to bring a quarter for a cart and bags for your stuff because they don't provide that. read more

This Aldi was pretty decent. Be prepared you pay 25c for the cart but you get it back when your done. Aldi is all about cheap sustainable shopping with off brands. What may normally cost you $60 trip could be as low as $30. Wanna save a couple cents bring you own bags! Overall they have a great business model and great prices. read more

First, I used to not be a fan of Aldi as I remember the older days where Aldi didn't put much effort into products within the store and maintenance. That has ALL changed. Aldi (whom I assume you know is in the same family of Trader Joe's) has really revamped and changed their presentation to customers and it's worked. I didn't even know that there was an Aldi in Annandale, but I am SO glad they decided to make this the location of the Aldi. One thing I like about this Aldi is that the parking lot isn't cramped, it's easy to get in and out of the Aldi with AMAZING parking spots. I feel like a winner every damn time (hey it's the little things that make my shopping experience). When you walk in it's not cramped or crowded, you get your cart or you walk in and the store is CLEAN. The aisles aren't cramped and you have room to roam without being in someone's way or thinking you're in someone's way. I personally like how this store starts off with Wine REALLY close when you walk in. That's just beautiful to me. There is plenty of Wine/Beer, Produce, Fruit, Packaged Goods, Meats, Eggs, Household items I mean you name it. Now, I will let you know that there are better things to get in Aldi than others. Here's a quick rundown for items that I pursue: - Beer/Wine (every once in a while but TJ's has the edge on this) - Produce (check the produce as you'll find great quality at an awesome price) - Poultry (the one place that has bone in chicken thighs with the skin on - yes if you KNOW how to grill you can appreciate this) - Eggs - Salsa's Soups -Canned Goods I'd highly recommend you take a trip out there and keep an open mind. Don't be thrown off by labels you don't recognize. What you don't realize is that those labels are what's saving you in price but providing with you some excellent products. Face it, some of you will buy Trader Joe's Salsa but won't look at Mama Casita's taco shells or salsa. Give it a chance but understand you're not at Whole Paycheck or the Local Market, or Wegmans. We walk out paying less than $50 and then end up doing a dance because we realize we have so many groceries that we only need a few items to round it out. Only thing I wish they had was the Deutsche Kuche Apfel Struddel. Only the Kenmore Ave one has it but man, this would be golden if that came here. Anyways, go Aldi! read more

It's no-frills, huge savings shopping, so if that's what you want, shop at Aldi. $1.38 for a pound of strawberries? $1.99 for a pint of blueberries? What's not to like? And they have a ton of organic and healthier snacks (the person who complained about all the junk food clearly missed the healthy food aisle). Yes, you have to bring your own bag or pay a nominal price for one of theirs; yes, the look is "warehouse chic;" yes, the carts are a quarter (so plan ahead--keep one in the car! You get it back); and yes, parking isn't perfect (we do live in an urban area..,). IF you care about saving money, and I do, you accept it--small price to pay for significant $ savings. I didn't buy too much, so I can't say much about pricing, but the few things I did buy were a pretty good deal. They have their own brands there, generics you would say, but they aren't bad! It was clean and well stocked. I'd visit again just because, though it's not a grocery store I frequent regularly (I prefer his brother, Trader Joe's!). read more

It's an Aldi. Anyone complaining about it's not being like a regular grocery store, or having to put a quarter in the cart doesn't understand how Aldi works. It works by relentlessly cutting costs. That means no frills in the design. It means having people move their own carts around, and reducing cart theft via walkoff -- thus the quarter. It means charging for bags, which is also good for the environment. I live on Accotink creek, so I know how many plastic bags the average shopper throws out the window. Very few items? That what Aldi is known for. It's how they keep prices so low, along with having most of those items be store brands. You're not going to get a regular superstore experience with prices 20% lower, folks. You go to Aldi knowing they've got you covered on the basics, at low prices, and that's it. That said, on my visit, they did need more cashiers. Only 2 lanes were open. That's probably just growing pains as the store is brand new, although with 1,000s of locations in the U.S. already, you'd think they'd have staffing figured out. The staff was friendly enough, but keep in mind, they're there to move people through and stock the floor, not hold shoppers' hands through a shopping experience. There's only 3-4 aisle in the whole place, so you can find what you need without costing the company (and the rest of us customers, via prices covering wages). If you want service and selection in an environment that makes you feel wealthy, head to Whole Foods and pay 3x. If you want basics at the lowest prices you're going to get, Aldi works. read more
