    Pumpkin wall

Loved visiting this market! We visited during their fall festival. Mainly came to visit the pumpkin wall but stayed around for the produce. It's free entry for their fall activities which is great especially if you have kids. Lots of photo ops to and fresh produce to choose from.

Love, love, love their fall celebrations and this year they did not disappoint! Tons of pumpkins and mums galore for all! They also have local produce and local honey for those who use that to help combat allergies. I always go here for my corn and tomatoes as well when they are in season. Highly recommend stopping in and enjoy the festive atmosphere!

Have heard about this place for a while before I could make it to it. This place live up to its name. I love the famous wall of pumpkis with the variety types of pumpkins. Super cutr and greaat place to go for fall shopping and also to take the kids. They have so many kids activities areas as well as a huge pumpkins walls to climb on for pictures but also for kids to play in! I had a great time here and woulf deff come back every year! perfect location for fall.

Love everything about this place. Pumpkins and flowers galore, and some of the most instagrammable spots in Alexandria! My favorite thing about Nall's though is the indoor farmers market. They have a great selection of fresh produce and locally made products including bread, cheese, jams, and fudge. Best time to visit is during October for their pumpkin festival. At the end of the month, they carve hundreds of pumpkins for an enormous Halloween display!

I'd never had a go-to garden center - especially one I'd try and go to weekly - until Nalls Produce. Nalls has it all. Seasonal flowers, shrubs, and plants. Pumpkins in the fall and Christmas trees and wreaths in December. Local vendors coming throughout the week to sell their goods (such as Smiths of Mecklenburg selling sausage and other meats every Friday), and featuring locally grown produce, eggs, and dairy products. They truly focus on seasonal, local, and small business products as well as a great experience. They are humble and extremely helpful. The staff are out on the grounds or inside the store area wearing their Nalls' shirts (or hoodies in colder months), so feel free to ask them questions. They also have chickens and a cat that freely walk the area which is always a treat to see. Lastly, there are a couple of geese that live there and a wonderful teacup pig named Penny. She's got her own fan club and a book share! Nalls is truly a special gem and a 60+ year old institution in Alexandria/Springfield.

Nalls is an absolute treasure for the Kingstown/Franconia/Springfield area. There are very few places like this where you can get FRESH produce and plants and more in the area. It's a place you can trust and a place you feel welcome. I love looking at their plant selection. They have everything from succulents to palm tree plants. There is literally such an amazing selection to choose from! They also have all sorts of garden plants and vegetable plants to do whatever you want with your yard. There is so much to choose from. During the holiday season, you can also get your Christmas trees here! They also have so many food products to choose from. There's tons of canned goods that will last for a long time. My personal favorites are the milk, ice cream, popcorn kernels, and jerky. All of that is delicious! It's also worth mentioning that Penny the Pig lives in that place rent free like an absolute QUEEN. Stop by and visit her!

As a first-timer at Nalls Produce, I can confidently say that I am so happy to have visited this establishment. When you arrive, it is off a main road, so you can drive by it rather quickly. I had to use my navigation system because that is exactly what I would have done HAHA! There is so much to look at ranging from the variety of seasonal plants, herbs, flowers, and etc.! They also have gardening equipment, soil, and produce in their buildings that they have. Personally, I was more surprised to see that they had duck eggs, yogurt, and different cheeses. I have not come across these items at a produce stand before, so do not judge me (I definitely plan to purchase the duck eggs at some point in time). In addition to all their fresh items and produce, they also had interesting items such as their syrups (i.e., peaches and cream, maple, cinnamon roll (I could be wrong about that one) that can be used for a variety of food items such as pancakes, in yogurt, and waffles. Other items such as bacon ketchup, applesauces, butters, jellies, salsas, and more lined the walls of the store. I took a particular interest in their wildflower honey which is produced locally. The sign says to use it daily to help build your immune system against seasonal allergies. Honey, I I have allergies all year round, so you know I bought that (pun intended ). I am already on day two and I recognize a decrease in my allergy symptoms already! I also bought a rosemary plant that I will be using for other creations. The total price for the honey and rosemary plan came to about $25 and some change. Considering what I am using these items for, it was worth it. With the service being great and the products being of great quality, I will be returning for sure! P.S. - There are also have some awesome animals that you might hear during your time there! Also, this place is kid friendly as well. They have so much to offer to their customers, so I would suggest checking out their website for more information!

Comparison of what I got between Nalls and a regular grocery store.

I'm all for local produce, because it means ripe vegetables and fruit full of flavor. The issue I have with Nalls is their extremely expensive prices for many of the products with no justifiable reason (see pics for example). They sell the exact same brand of ghee that Mom's carries, but $5 more expensive *per jar*. A lot of their vegetables and fruit are also not local, but are still priced higher than local grocery stores. I wouldn't get anything from here that comes from a long distance, since you could get the same thing at other grocery stores, but I will still continue shopping here for local fruits and vegetables. The fruits here are amazing, you can actually smell the difference.

One thing I will say is that it helps to research what the plant will look like when it's mature before purchasing. Most of the plants are quite small to start with but because they are native plants they do take off over time.

Greenstreet Gardens is one of the few plant shops I physically visit for my gardening needs. Staffs are friendly and knowledgeable, and they carry some of the more common cultivars of Alocasia, Ficus, Philodendron and other Aroids. If you know, you know. As with most nurseries, the indoor tropical plants and succulents are displayed inside the vicinity. There's a small greenhouse across the main building where you can find some of the larger indoor plants. Outdoor in the back, you can find annuals and other seasonal plants. We loved our volunteer experience here, which happened to coincide with Sunday Farm Tonic AND the first heat break of lingering summer. The core staffers are friendly, happy to instruct and teach as you go. If you want to harvest, don't be shy when they ask for a show of hands! Their passion for the cause is infectious, and translating the inexperienced efforts of more than a dozen volunteers into three days' work for a farmer was super gratifying. Pam thoughtfully asked for coordination feedback, gave us tips for some of the produce we were dealing with, and later tasked us with more fun side labor after noticing that we'd been stuck with mundane work for awhile. Lamont was our favorite team leader, showing us the various crops, stripping back some little gem corn that squirrels had nibbled at to show us the reason for their name, and having us taste purslane where they'd begun growing as weeds. Deadheading the flower beds for the benefit of the bees was probably the prettiest task, but weeding the cauliflower patch was certainly more peaceful than digging up wiregrass from the planter boxes. If we lived closer, we'd definitely donate our time at least once a month.
