So today I ordered from the Tyson's location. The item I received today is now over 2 months past its best by date (05/29/26) and it should've been removed from the shelves. They need to check their stock and remove expired items. The DC store had a best by date of 7/9/26.

The produce section is quite nice with a wide variety of fresh looking fruits and veggies. I didn't really go through all the aisles as I really was looking for something quick and healthy. They do have a nice selection of tofu and faux meat products. I did enjoy the salad and hot bars which were kept pretty clean and had a decent variety. Checkout was quick and friendly.

It's a smallish store, meaning it doesn't always offer the selection of some others in the area, but it also means it's not overwhelming. More importantly, to me, it means it's the kind of place where they recognize me, even after coming less frequently, and greet me and chat with me. It's very welcoming and friendly and in a huge chain, that's rare.

Kendrick provides excellent customer service - he's fast, friendly, manages a long line with a calm demeanor (and always with a smile), and he goes out of his way to cut/package the seafood exactly the way you like, often hand delivering it to you around the counter instead of making you reach up over it. Shopping can sometimes be stressful, but never when you actually look forward to placing an order with Kendrick.

The store is always clean and has novel food items unavailable in most grocery stores. The sandwich is a unique vanilla wafer shaped like a fish with ice cream inside it. They make sushi fresh there and have better prices than most grocery stores. I love the heavy Tobiko (fish caviar) sprinkled all over the California sushi roll for only $5.99. I bought two sushi rolls, a giant amount of seaweed salad , and three boxes of ice cream sandwiches there. $40 for all the groceries - not bad. I, also, signed up for a free H Mart card. H mart offers a shopping card to use when you buy groceries for store deals & to collect points for a $10 gift card. If you collect 1,000 points in groceries, you get a $10 gift card to use in H Mart.

I bought $25 worth of bulgogi and two types of banchan, cucumber and bellflower and kenyip. I tried the cucumber and bellflower banchan first, and threw it away. Whoever prepared it added way too much vinegar--it soured my stomach. The next evening I prepared the bulgogi in a pan with a touch of sesame oil. There was strangely no aroma from the marinade and as the beef cooked, an overwhelming disgusting SOUR aroma began emitting. I got a new pan, thinking perhaps I burnt the sesame oil; nope, the HMart sold me $25 worth of rotting meat. I threw away all the meat and had to eat a veggie dinner including the kenyip banchan. Woke up in the middle of the night with a food poisoning itchy rash on the back of my thigh. My partner had not eaten the banchan and was fine--threw away the kenyip too. I tried calling the market twice to complain and tell them at the very least to take the rotten beef off the shelves. No one picked up of course. So I'm doing my own recall here. I find new favorites here on a regular basis. Thankful for the salmon and other fish options as well as the shrimp, burgers, roasts, and flavorful seasoning options. Between the options available at ALDI and the wonders of an air fryer I have become more adventurous in meal preparation despite a shorter schedule. The staff is friendly and helpful. The parking is easy and convenient (although there are a lot of folks who do not seem to understand arrows...). Worth a visit but ge sure to bring your bags and a quarter of you wish to use a cart (I try to carry it all in my bags, mostly to limit my purchases, it's only sort of working )

Having relocating to a new office in the area, I was craving some authentic Chinese food for lunch. Upon walking into the supermarket, I knew something smelled different. Gone (or under repair) is the wet market. No fish in tanks, no turtles swimming around and no clams or crabs over ice. Honestly, the place smelled better. However, was the restaurant with the roasted meals and Chinese entrees still there? Yes! $8.49 for a meal of rice and 3 your choice of sides (1 veggie + 2 meat choices), plus a soup. I added a ginormous sesame ball (filled w red bean paste. I was hoping for lotus but yeah for price of $1.99 not happening). Total of $11.11. What did I get? Beef tendon with radish (mostly if not all radish and chuck). I'd pass. Eggplant. Yep, I'll get again. Pork patty. Yep, I'll get again. A soup came with the meal. It was tomato. It was OK. So, will I come back again for a box lunch and sesame ball? Yep, I totally will!
